What a wicked thing to do!

And we ask ourselves why all these Nigerian women abroad wouldn't like marrying nigerian men.

It's because of their violence outside Nigeria.
Honestly, Nigerian women abroad dont mind marrying nigerian men abroad. This is because everyone know exactly what to expect since you already live in this part of the world.

The problem arises when a Nigerian man in the U.S (still engrossed in the Nigerian culture) struggles to bring a girl from Nigerian and sends her to school here as an investment for the family. In most cases, the man won the girl over with the 'yankee' influence (especially when the girl might not have looked at him twice if he lived in naija). Then the girl comes to yankee, goes to school that the man paid for, gets better educated than the man, starts feeling she coulda done better in the choice of a husband, becomes a 'nurse' and starts working endless overtime, has friends, starts going to parties with her nurse friends and realises it is a woman's world in the states.

The guys starts wondering why his 'investment' is turning against him, and he has to be the one who cooks and cleans the house since the wife is always at work. A fire starts burning inside him.

So, really, it is the woman who relocated from naija that has changed . .and a lot of men who do not expect this kinda change cannot handle it.

My advice to men . . stop going home to bring girls that really would not care about you if not for your yankee influence or holiday dollars.
FamilyRe: Equal Love For Adopted And Biological Children? by kokoye(op): 2:44pm On Jul 27, 2010
I personally believe it will be a little easier to make things seems less obvious since you already formed a bond with the adopted kid before the bilogical came.

But what if you adopted a child AFTER having your own biological child. . . can there be true and genuine equal love for both kids?
FamilyEqual Love For Adopted And Biological Children? by kokoye(op): 2:39pm On Jul 27, 2010
You have been praying for a child forever and so you and your spouse both agree to go n adopt a child - You have this perfect child and all is well. . . the child brings you the joy you have always prayed for.

But then you get pregnant after a few years and you have your own biological child.

Can you truly have equal love for both kids - the adopted and the biological?

CrimeMiracle Oil Well In Idimu Lagos by kokoye(op): 3:13pm On Jul 23, 2010
Police operatives have bust a syndicate, which operates an illegal oil well in Idimu area of Lagos. The syndicate which runs a factory where it dug a well, which it uses in siphoning fuel from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline is allegedly headed by one Okonkwo.
The syndicate allegedly dug a well inside the factory located at Diamond Estate, Idimu, where it connected a pipe to the NNPC pipeline.

A police source said the police has been suspecting movements of petrol tankers which were always going and coming out of the factory odd hours.
The police, however, tried to penetrate the company to find out what was happening in the premises but were resisted until a new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was posted to Idimu Division.

The DPO, Mr. Ambrose Agbedo was said to have personally led a team of detectives to the factory where they discovered a well, securely padlocked. Agbedo who was curious decided to brake the padlock and was shocked at what he and his team saw. The police source said: “The well is filled with fuel. There is a pipe connected from the well to the NNPC pipeline. The same way one fetches water with a bucket from a well, is the same way one fetches fuel from the well. The fuel in the well can serve all the cars in Lagos.”

Lagos State police spokesman, Mr. Frank Mba, who confirmed the report said: “What we have in the well is not water. What you see is the height of creativity in the criminal world. This is illegal bunkering in more criminalized manner. The syndicate pretends that it was producing furniture polish when it is siphoning fuel from oil pipeline,

I am surprised that the water in my well has turned to fuel. It is a wonder that I can’t explain but I swear to God I didn’t know how it happened,” Okonkwo said.   grin  grin

Na wah o. I'm thinking people should reinforce the design, build and sale of canoes for the Lagos rich n famous. Job creation of course.

Canoes large enough to transport benz cars.

Realtors should also throw in rubbers boots / sandals along with the sales and leases of lekki 'palaces'

I decided to ask the question after I saw the movie 'Pelham123'.

The guy lied publicly (that he commited a crime of taking a bribe) to save a boy's life. maybe he did take the bribe

Some appreicated the fact that he saved a life at his own expense while some wanted to crucify him for taking a bribe.

mutter:
I have to give a testimony of an experience I had in 1994. My 2yr old daughter suddenly started choking one evening and I took her to the clinic i n 1004. As i ws waiting for the Dr. on call to arrive I noticed a man lying on the floor his wife was crying. I asked the nurse what the problem was and she explained the man needed to be admitted but they did not have the money. I asked her how much it would cost to treat him admission drugs and all and she meant like 800naira would cover everything. I went up to the woman and spoke with her, offered to lend her the money. She was so scared to say yes I think she felt I wasnt human to just offer such help. The nurses assured her that they knew me and I lived nearby with my family so they spoke to the husband and they agreed. I sent for the money and the nurses where asking her to give me her name and Address  and to sign an undertaking but i did not want any of that. Off course she promised to bring back the money immediately but I told her not to. I wanted the man to get well and them to take their time to gather the money together and then come to me.
Months later, I ad almost forgotten,i was having a nap when my nanny called me that I had visitors. A family with two kids dressed up in their Sunday best. I gave them drinks and snacks then had to politely ask if they were looking for my husband. I could not recognise them. The man explained that he was the man I had helped in the hospital and he was bringing back the money. I was so glad my whole joy was that the trust had not been betrayed. As they left to depart, I called one of the kids and gave him the envelop. I told them that i had lent them the money but this time it was a present for the kids so they should not refuse but use it for the children. I was honoured that they came to visit me. The way they came as a family and how they were dress was an indication that it was important to them.
We should always give a helping hand when we can, it is just that sometimes it get`s abused.
This is different. You met them at a hospital and were there for a purpose.

Some beggars with wounds actually make the wounds look terrible so you have forced to pity them or want them to get outta your face - they make you part with money eitherway. Can be disgusting

I have been in this situation before a couple of time in Lagos, I finished with 2:1, top of my class but in the process of searching for job, had to beg for fare a couple of times. Today I thank God, I had worked with UAC, Intercontinental Bank, Chevron, Vodafone UK, BSkyB UK, etc.

Some of them may actually need help because I have been there!!!

Please help if you can and always ask God to guide you.
Unfortunately the bad eggs have discouraged willing helpers. I have been robbed at CMS bus stop (at knife point) by the same person I was trying to help.

That's why I said doing the right thing is very tough in Nigeria, because it is indeed a unique place.

I aint condoning doing the wrong thing to survive, but in Nigeria s-h-i-t money no dey smell. And this is why a lot have abandoned that country.

A few yrs ago, my elderly parents were going to vote. Some guys came to meet them on the way and told them to go back home if they valued their lives. They were told their fingers would be cut off if they did not vote for PDP.

Would you blame my parents for going back home safely . . or who wants to find out if their threat is true or not?

And by setting up offices in 32 states, IBB is likely to get the votes of these so called hungry people who would rather live life in misery than go out proud and not haven fallen to the crumbs from the devil's table.
Let us be realistic here . . go out proud, as in die proud??

Who cares how you die in Nigeria? . . .when you die, people call you silly, forget you, your spouse remarries, your children start suffering and life goes on.

So really, why blame the people who just want another blame to survive another day so maybe they can get their chance to make it in life??

When there is life, there is hope. When you die, you die!! Apart from our faith, noone is exactly sure what happens are death, so why not make the best outta life?

As long as you are alive, you can ask for forgiveness and change your ways. You cannot do that when you are dead. grin

This is why people will do anything to stay alive

Poverty is not a good thing. Poverty will cloud your judgement. Pray against it

It is hard for a hungry man to ignore food even when the plate is from the devil.

That is the problem with Nigeria.

A lot of people are ready to sell their votes. . . .they have seen others die by being stubborn and not selling.

It will be VERY hard for you to have a real traditional yoruba wedding if your parents are not interested.

A traditional yoruba wedding is really all about the parents and relatives. So you need to taker care of that portion first of all. . . then you can get the needed information and advice from interested and trusted family members. . . you will need them for it to be a success.
