ekwynox: Sorry this is coming very late but it is because of some exigencies. My visa was approved yesterday 3rd December. My interview time was 10am. I arrived at the embassy around 9.15am. One of the policemen on duty at the gate almost got me off my foot when I asked the way i should into the embassy. he told me i was already late but i should go and try my luck. On getting to the gate, the attendant there told me that those for 10am appointment are told to wait outside until 9.30am. This gave me a big relief. So before you ask questions, try to ask a reliable source to avoid unnecessary panic. At 9.30am, we were ushered in under tight security one after the other. The attendant collected my appointment letter and tore off the front page, gave back the remaining pages to me. She also gave me a blue card and some papers for payment. Please, try and keep those papers intact. They will ask for it later. From that point, i passed through four security gate, the last one being an automated scanner. Please avoid coming to the embassy with powder, liquids, make-ups, snacks, metal objects and phones because you won't be allowed to take them in and disposing of such may cause you some panic. I dropped my phones and other gadgets at home before coming. At the last door, i was issued a number B429. After some time, my name was called and i was asked to go and make payments before the submission of documents. After that, my documents were submitted and then waited for the interview proper. the interview came around past eleven or some minutes before twelve. Before the interview, i saw the CO, a beautiful black lady, scrutinizing my degree certificate, he even called another CO to help him do that, the man immediately confirmed to him that the seal is for authentication. I think that was because my certificate has some seals from the federal ministry of education, abuja, when i intended going to austria for my masters. Not quite long, my number beeped at that window and the interview went thus: CO: Good morning Me: Good morning CO: Are you blah blah? Me: yes CO: Do you swear to say the truth Mes: Yes, yes CO; ok, sign this form Me: signed CO: i want to take your fingerprints Me: i obliged CO: have you traveled out of Nigeria before? (I know it was because of the seal on all my certificates from the ministry that made her ask that) Me: No, i haven't CO: cool, what is your highest level of education Me: University degree in blah blah blah CO: sorry please, started discussing with another CO, after some time, he called the short form of my first name, nonso. at that point, i suspected she is ibo. when did you finish your university education? Me: 2011 CO: Have you done your NYSC? Me: yes CO: where? Me: blah blah blah CO: What was your primary assignment? Me: Teaching CO: what did you teach? Me: biology and chemistry CO: what was the age of your students? Me: smiles, say between 15 - 18 years, the normal age of ss3 students CO: good. what are you doing now? Me: blah blah blah CO: where? Me: blah blah blah CO: Are you married? Me: No, of course, am single CO: have you any kid? Me: smiles, not all CO: you have satisfied me, you visa has been approved. brought two white papers and started explaining about how to pay USCIS fee and how to pick up visa. I was happy, though i was listening to her but happiness couldn't allow me to hear her well unlike when she was interviewing me.
So, my fellow forumites help me thank God. I equally pray that the God that did it for me will do so for all of you. the VISA is all yours in the mighty name of JESUS! Amen. I rejoice with you. Congratulations! |

jamp: my people, anybody thinking of going into poultry business must keep alot of cash.
am building a house for my 1000 DOC coming soon and i have spent so much. i bought a land from a village chief here in Abuja and i fneced it with zinc. the house was meant to accomodate 1000 birds but i heard it can contain 1500 cos its big. so far i have spent close to 2m on just building and the land. i heard i will spend more when the chick arrives. the flooring they did for me is very bad so i need to refloor the place.
i thank everybody on this forum cos i have learnt alot. i blame myself for the flooring cos the person that started this thread had same problem and i failed to learn from it. Pls my brother I live in Kubwa in Abuja. I will like to visit your farm if you permit me. This will allow me to learn from you. Kindly drop ur address to ad.adeola247@gmail.com, thanks. |

fnk: @brendan and the rest, I have emailed you guys the docs. @ brendan, take your time and go through this tread, from page 1 to 13, you will see post from people with a lot of experience, I am not an expert in this field, just have great love for it. When I ran my research in Lagos, I went through some not so conventional system just to prove that the V-mix works, i.e; I didn't clear the coop for 3 weeks, leave it to get wet and the water holders were pretty dirty, the water was messy looking which will be a breading room for Ecoli and other virus that can kill the birds. But because of the V-mix, virus or bacteria could not grow or even survive in those environment, It didn't matter how bad the water was or the coop, the birds was health and thrived.
There are books you can buy and they will give you more info on when to change the water, clean out the coop etc. And tell you the truth, a lot of this processes are common sense and your love for what you are doing.
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks guys. pls I just went through this thread and I gained alot but at d same time I will appreciate if you can forward d documents to my email. ad.adeola247@gmail.com |

G2Glory: Why not inform them at the clininc of the error & let them correct it. Please get this resolve before you go for your interview. Ensure you avoid anything that may cause unnecessary questioning.
Let assume you made the mistake, they can only charge for printing & administrative fees. This effort is nothing to compare with the glory ahead I will take this step first. I appreciate U. Thanks G2Glory. |

kevwe_flex: Sorry komakan, you seem to have mixed it up. It's from ASAP (As soon as possible) after successful interview to before 6 months before visa expiration. The visa has a 'life span' of 6 months from the date of issuance, so you have between that time before leaving. So if all your logistics and et al is set, you can leave anytime you like. But ensure you don't overstay till your visa expires, if it does, guy na "one chance" be that.
Takia Thank you Kevwe. |

ukemeglitter: Hello,
You don't have to worry yourself on anything. The bulletin for Nigeria has been slow, but there is absolutely nothing to worry about cos its yours already, so don't be anxious or desperate.
What I can say about this is always follow the bulletin @ http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html so you can know when your case is current. In addition. You have to be Current before 2nl will be sent to you. Now, cut-off for December visa bulletin is 8000 and you are 16xxx. Keep following monthly visa bulletin and this thread. Goodluck! |

kevwe_flex: Ok, I thought it's not. Yes, like the saying goes, desperate situations requires desperate actions. Some folks are really so desperate. Prayer is the key. As we all here have been destined to travel, there shall not be any iota of stress. By the grace of God. |
Travel › Re: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by komakan(m): 9:00am On Nov 26, 2013 |
kevwe_flex: Although not related, but just for our information. See desperado: http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/sfu-arrests-five-for-visa-fraud/ The message is related. The point is that we should not be so desperate to travel out of d country as not to get into d hands of visa fraudsters. Prayer is d key. We can still make it in Nigeria but if you are destined to travel out definitely there won't be any iota of stress to get there. Goodluck! |
