EgbonBode: No. One will not be disqualified because he has a baby. Seye was disqualified because he had the twins before he played the lottery initially without filling the name of the twins in the lottery. If he has filled in the name of the twins in the lottery he would not have been disqualified. If he had the twins after playing the lottery he would not have been disqualified. You are not allowed to put in new name except you gave birth after the lottery or you got married after playing the lottery. You have said it all. Good. And she couldnt remember her kids date of birth. |

seye4God: Our interview experience!!!
Praise God!!! Rejoice with my family. The LORD has done a wondrous thing once again.
It was on Wednesday, 23rd January 2013. We got to the Embassy some minutes passed 8am.
We waited under the tree rented a seat for my wife at the rate of N150. My younger brother was with us. I was told we would need Four Passports Photograph each. The requirement we met already. At exactly 5minutes to 10am, we were told to come in for our interview. We queued to verify our entry with other diversity visa lottery winners.
After our confirmation, we were ushered to the screening security machine where we put off our shoes, belts, wrist watch, etc. In fact, we went with many luggages as if we were travelling to America that very day. I noticed we were the only applicant that came with many luggages. My wife named was called for submission of documents and instructed to pay for the VISA Fees at other cubicle. I paid for 5 people - my wife, three daughters and self (almost N280,000 non refundable).
Our documents were sorted and collated. Our submitted forms to Kentucky had been thoroughly and carefully reviewed by officers of the embassy and recommendation had been made. Just to submit your original and photocopied documents for verification and cross examination. Reviewing of one’s submitted form before the interview makes the task easier for the Consular Officer who will then use his/her discretion to check if truly one deserves the visa. Mind you, the internal officers would have suggested to the Consular Officer those errors and mistakes noted in conformable with the DV instruction as stated therein – click to read for your perusal and necessary action. (http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_2013_instructions_ENGL.pdf). Most of the applicants do not often read this instruction before applying. Most believe so much on “I heard and they said”. It is better we go through the DV instruction ourselves without falling victims.
At exactly 12noon, my wife number: (B-347) was called. We went to window 16 (a place where most Nigerians pray not to go). I see nothing difficult in that lady. She speaks clear and simple. Successful Applicants do not need to entertain any fear. Keep your receipt very well ooooooooooo. I could not find where I kept the receipt. Meanwhile, it was inside the envelope where I kept the balance of N280,000 (I later saw it when we got home). The lady said we should not bother to search we should just come for the interview. After we promise to say the truth by raising our right hands; she then requested to take our finger prints – both left and right.
Thereafter, our interview went thus:
CO: What was the date of birth of the twins?
My wife: nnnnnnnnnn
CO: Where is your first child?
My wife/I: She was disturbing other applicants where they sat and I went to carry her
CO: Okay. She is the one.
CO: In your original entry you said you have only one child; but after you won you included the twins; that means they were born couple of months before entry for the DIVERSITY VISA.
My wife: YES
CO: According to the policies and law of the DV section so and so….. you application has been disqualified. Madam, I am very sorry. There is nothing I could do at this juncture. I did not make the law. I am very sorry. My wife: I travelled when my husband played the lottery. The twins where delivered at home….nanana and nanananana
CO: Madam, I said I am sorry. I have many clients to attend to. Please leave now!
My wife/I: FATHER! (Immediately we heard her instruction to leave, we started praying at her presence) We thank you for this successful interview. We just want to thank you despite being denied. You are our GOD and we would continue to serve you more in respective of what must have happened today.
We saw, conquered and overcame the tricks of devil who thought we may be sick or died as a result of this disqualification rather many blessings were later discovered. Our GOD is a strong tower. He is our shield since we put our trust in Him. Proverb 30:5.
LESSON TO LEARN: • Put your trust in GOD!!! • Pray and fast • Be yourself and speak confidently (God made my wife to speak confidently despite being denied) • Read the instruction thoroughly • Visit https://www.nairaland.com/927190/dv-2013-winners-meet-here/415 to follow detailed experience from Nigerians • Be organized • If you are successful, assist other applicants who know nothing about this • It is by His grace that you won the VISA Lottery and your interview was successful; so, do not turn from GOD. • American is a place of comfort i.e. a comfort zone. Do not go there to forget GOD.
OBSERVATIONS: • Applicants should not be made to pay before interview. It is supposed to be after the interview since the fees is not refundable. • I am sure many will be granted and still the number of people that would be denied will be more than those that will be granted. Multiply that money of those denied with the charging fees. • Many families sold there belongings, properties, etc and even borrowed to pay for the visa fees (at least I know a family that did so) • If you are not successful, please don’t kill yourself. God knows the best. The Christ in us is far better that the crisis of this world. • Keep serving and worshiping God. My family and I have known God more!!! • But still we were extremely glad after the rigorous interview. Today, we were denied; only GOD knows tomorrow. Americans may be begging for us to come there. There is nothing our GOD cannot do. I will encourage those that were denied to often share their testimonies and experiences for other Nigerians to be conscious of them.
We have learnt our lessons. We know GOD more; during this struggle we knew those people that truly love us. We knew people that could only eat with you when the deal is done. We did what we thought we could not be able to do. AMERICA is our dream; ONE-DAY we shall be there by the special grace of GOD.
Best of luck to those applicants going for their interview. If you are in America; endeavour to help the needy. Share your wealth with people that are less privileges. 1Samuel 2:5-8 (it is not your power that made you rich) If you are not successful; share your experience with people that have not gone for their interview. Who knows? Your experience may be of help to other applicants. Finally, even you make all requirements and obey the laws and policies of DV; if God says NO; it will still be NO. I am very sure many will still be denied and many will be surely granted; whichever way, remain with GOD and never stop serving and worshiping Him.
I wish you all the best!!!
I learnt many have pay many thousands to Visa Processing Agents before their interviews. Whereas, the agents have no say of granting one visa. DV is what you can play yourself. I played it freely for my family and few friends. It takes nothing from me.
You bad DV Agent that is exhorting money from Nigerians; you better change your mind before it is too late!!! Repent and turn a new leaf. May God forgive us!!!
If you need any advice or you want to make inquiry feel free to call me. It is purely FREE. Call me any time any day. I will share more of this stories with you. My wife can also pick the call to share same experience with you. Please learn from our testimony!!! May GOD continue to be with us all. |

okeymen: PH is one heck of an expensive town. However the police clearance can be done at any state CID. Only difference is they still send it to Alagbon that's y it takes so long. Okay. ..just that I have never heard of this. Thanks. |
Travel › Re: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by komakan(m): 1:29pm On Nov 18, 2013 |
okeymen: I made a failed attempt to get my police clearance today in Port Harcourt. The simple reason: while everyone on this forum says they get theirs done with about 3k, i was asked to pay 10k each for my wife and I and we would get it in a weeks time. Between us, we tried to justify the 14k difference but could not so we just put it off and will have it done in Lagos.
On the bright side, this is the first time I am going to a government owned facility to get papers done and did not run into a single tout. Even thought the guys were not in the office when i got there, they had their numbers pasted on the door so all you have to do is call and they will appear in no time at all.... I dont think anyone in d forum will ask you to do your police clearance in Porthacourt, it should be Birth attestation at NPC. You can only get ur police clearance done at Alagbon in Lagos. Goodluck! |

XYZZ: House, first of all, thank God. And i would like to thank every body in this forum for all your kind encouraging advise and support, its always nice to have people like you guys. I am so grateful to be part of this family.
It always nice to have a strong defence if you are not sure of some documents should the CO ask you about them. I have gone to US embassy sometime in 2007, which i lied that i was in the Nigeria Navy, all in the name of yanky... I also said i was married then but all na lie, anyways they denied my self and 2 of my guys visa. So i was so scared that these will come up. Even my Waec date of birth says 1986 why my International Passport is carrying my real date of birth 1979, i was also sacred that this might come up. To cut the stories, God always have his ways. I thank God cos none of all these errors were asked.
My Interview:
Our Number deep in windows 15:
CO: Good morning Sir Me: Good morning ma
CO: Are you Mr. XYZZ ME: Yes ma, and she turned to my wife and asked her the same question
CO: Can you please raise your left hand and say u will say the truth and nothing but the truth? Me: Yes ma
CO: can i take your finger print Me: Sure, so she took our finger print:
Co: Whats your highest level of education Me: XYZ
Co: What year did you get married Me: XYZ
Co: What’s the date of birth of your son Me: XYZ
Co: What do you do at work Me: YXZ
Co: For how long have you been married Me: XYZ
She started typing and brought out 2 paper and advice us on how to pay our Green Card fee, and said welcome to America; i asked her if that’s all? And she said yes that’s all.
I just want to thank God cos i have been praying and asking God for easy interview and that was what God did for my family, my wife is a lawyer and the CO did not ask her any questions, i was suppressed.
For people that are waiting for their interview, listen the visa is yours go and pick. Texas loading........ congrats once again. |

Suretreasure: Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. I had a successful Interview last week. N.B: I did my interview outside Nigeria Pre-interview during submission of documents. CO: What's your occupation? Me: Student CO: Which school? Me: Answered CO: How old are you? Me: Answered The CO then asked for the documents one after the other and also asked if I've any other documents she hasn't asked for. I gave her all my supporting documents & she choose the needed ones out of them. Then, I did the finger print. CO: Pls, go and have your sit, you'll be call to the interview room shortly. (Immigrants are interviewed specially in a room) The real Interview with the CO. CO: Sorry for the mispronunciation of your name, can you pls correct me? (Immigrants are not assigned numbers since we're few) Me: I pronounced it for him syllabically. CO: I know you've been to many countries, tell me what you're doing here Me: I'm a studying CO: What are you studying? Me: Medicine CO: O.k. Have you ever been to the States? Me: No CO: Did you've any relatives there? Me: No CO: Then, who is the person you filled on the form? Me: My Dad's friend CO: How did he became friend with your Dad? Me: I explained vividly CO: Can you tell me something about the Germany stamp on your passport? Me: I applied for a Germany transit Visa but was rejected. CO: Why were you rejected? Me: Incomplete document. The Interviewer ask for my bank acct statement which I didn't go with for my Interview. CO: What of the South Africa stamp? Me: I passed through South Africa when I was coming to study here. CO: Why did you played for the lottery? Me: Answered CO: Where did you played for it? Me: Answered CO: Did you played with your friends/relatives? Were they also selected? Me: No. I didn't played with friends. But my brother also played. CO: Was he selected? Me: No CO: What was his reaction? Me: He supported me & helped me a lot. CO: Who did you told when you were selected? Me: My brother & My Dad CO: What did your Dad says then? Me: He said I should continue with the processing. CO: I have to approve your Visa now since all your documents are completed Me: Thank you Sir CO: You had good grades in your results. (Returned my original documents to me) Me: Thank you Sir CO: Any question for me? Me: Can I travel out of the States before I get my Green card? CO: I know you don't have much holidays, so try & go to the States during this Xmas & make sure you don't stay out of the States for more than a year so that you won't loss your residence. I know you'll like to finish school before going to the States finally. (He was right, my longest holiday which is less than a month is during the Xmas.) CO: Any other question? Me: No He then gave me a paper and told me where to pick up my Passport & Visa package. Then I walked out of the Interview hall with my ever smiling face like a bachelor who just get a Yes from his dream girl. God is so great.
Advice: 1. Apply "One step at a time" rule so as not to get carried away due to anxiousness. 2. For those outside Nigeria, pls try and get the police report from your present country even if you haven't send up to a year in the country. 3. Get your Vaccination record so as not to spend unnecessary money. Ask those at home to get it for you & scan it if you're outside Nigeria.
Thanks you all, in one way or the other, I've learnt from most people on this trend. Special thanks to @ Ernestleon, you're blessed Bro. For those awaiting their Interview & 2NL, believe & have faith that the Visa is yours. Wishing you all success in your endeavours. Congratulations! I'm happy for you. |

exteababa: its 10-30pm here in atlanta GA, My advice goes to all winners coming to this country. yes, its the best place you can be and its also the "worst-est" place you can be, it all depends on you. within 3days av moved round av seen things and people and have learnt, av seen Nigerians here making it big and av seen Nigerians here "hustling on-top nothing" to cut it all short, when u are coming as a student, come with your credentials but ill bet if you know what lies ahead in the future u dont wanna use them. its better u take their own exams here like GED & SAT to get a college admission, no matter your level of education in nigeria its better you start from the begining here, this is a hi-tech country, lottery means ntn if u dont study in a reputable college, just tonight i saw a dv winner of some years ago working in an african resturant, and so many nigerians doing jobs that cant pay their bills. my point is be ready to face USA by going to college here, nigerias bsc or msc dont count "much" tho it might do for now but later you'll might regret not having a US college / high school result. life is good here for the ready to face life squally. Good talk. I have heard about it before so U are very right. Thanks. |

kennex89: what is wrong with USA why are they doing this to Nigerians, they should try and change this number for God sake this is not fair at all. Kennex, USA are not doing anything wrong to Nigerians d reason is best known to them. If U check last year December Bulletin it was 8500 and January/ February 2013 was 10000 before it was increased to 11000 in March and 17000 in April. From dis assessment we still hv hope.
