Papi85: Musa, ekong and Balogun should make way for younger players
Also shehu should be dropped as well
Players like valentine Ozornwafor, John nwankwo, Celtics osaze, Akpoguma should be brought in to see the best possible two to replace again Balogun and worn out ekong while amo and ejike for Musa
Alhassan and Onyedika anyone better should take etebos place for now while he sort his club issue out With regards to Osaze he is simply not good enough from what I've seen. Right from when he was at Sheffield Wednesday. Valentine Ozornwafor, John Nwankwo are simply just starting their career and there is nothing to report of substance. Alhassan l know nothing about so no comments Onyedika is playing in the lowly Danish league more or less first season. Not sure what makes him exceptional. That league is on par with English league one, if l were to suggest a number of Nigerian origin players in League one all of you would start doing summersaults. Double standard and hypocrisy anchored on sentiment based favouritism. Elijah Adebayo scored 16 goals in the Championship this season just ended, has any body talked about him. There is a good number of Nigerian origin CB in the Championship but not one mention but we keep talking about expired players like Shehu, Omeruo, etc |

I got a taxi from the airport to my residence from the airport about 38km he charged me €165 it should not have been more than a €100. This kept happening and I decided to rent a car , even going to pick up the rental car the taxi driver took a long route and added a 5 km to the trip. It was after I started driving and using Google maps discovered the taxi drivers were going the long way round. But that not all just lots of sharp practices and outright cheating. I guess this is the land of the cosa nostra so I should not be surprised. |

Meliforme: Football analysts and experts says otherwise. So being the third best dribbler in the world is all you know about Ejuke.
You have not noticed his goals and assists, only one player at CSKA Moscow has more goals than him, and only one player made more assists than him. This is because he played most games in the second half of the season as a sub, at a time he was leading in goals and assists.
Only one player passes the ball better than Ejuke at CSKA Moscow, and that player is a midfielder.
I can tell you for free that Ejuke is more intelligent than all SE wingers. No Super Eagles player commands more technique than Ejuke. He is not better than Ademola. |

drDoom3: We need to clean up that squad if we have ambitions.
Musa, Shehu, Omeruo need to go. Moffi should not be getting invites over Awoniyi, that was a mistake.
Bonke and Etebo are farmers. We need top class midfielders like Alhassan and Onyedika. I will even take Tijani over those guys.
Ekong and Balogun shouldn't be starting games at this level again. I would go with Zaidu, Bassey, Ajayi, Aina back 4 with Awaziem and Balogun as back up CB. Ekong should just be doing hypeman on the bench, he is too poor a CB. Poor man's Maguire.
With the number of strikers equal to the number of wingers, I think Peseiro is set on this 4-4-2 thing. My question though is, why was Nacho not invited then? We all know what Nacho offers, even as his work rate is poor. No one on our team is more technical, maybe Iwobi and sometimes Aribo and Sadiq comes close but that's it. Etebo is not a farmer he has been one of our best midfielders in times past, although he doesn't justify a call up in the here and now. Awaziem, Omeruo are not better than Ekong and or Balogun. Age should not be a factor in the Nigerian context. Nacho has a good left foot but exceptional technical ability a big No. He doesn't deserve a call up. |

Funflipper: Absolutely! And when he was at the verge of being disgraced in 2019, he ran back to Tinubu for help and Tinubu did it again. How could Buhari betray someone who has been of immense benefit to him and at very crucial times? They nicknamed him bullion when he wasn't even the one running for president. He organized campaign rallies (like he was the person running for president) across the length and breadth of Nigeria in 2015 and 2019 for Buhari and Osinbajo who couldn’t do it. You cannot downplay his achievements even if you don't like him. What achievements ❓ He has manipulated the entire government structure to create a mafia like dynasty for almost two decades. He exerts a stranglehold on Lagos state government. Everything needs his approval of you don't show loyalty and SWEAR allegiance to him you cannot run for office under the APC . His achievements are looting public funds and creating structures for money to go to his proxies ad infinitum. You talk like he by himself has 20 million votes but of course you are not completely wrong. He has been in rigging elections for decades. The reality is that in a free and fair election without bribery, vote buying and other forms of rigging. Tinibu be will not be able to win a senatorial seat in Lagos. He is the embodiment of aly that is wrong with our politics. |

callme9mm: Absolutely. I love Tinubu over and over again. If not that Buhari is an ungrateful person, we all saw how Tinubu backed him up that year. Buhari owe him lots and lots of supports. Tinubu isn’t seeking approval from Buhari, he just needs his support one way or the other to show signs of being grateful, but maybe the political chess Tinubu tried to play isn’t going to work out as expected by him. He needs someone from the very top to give support. He might have to start all over again from the grassroots, and show to the world that he’s the Jagaban. He might not be that powerful anymore, cos 8 years is a long year that Buhari have wasted. But I’m pretty sure Tinubu might decide to show Nigerians and the World who he really is, or He might just decide to backdown.
If Buhari have forgotten what happened in 2015, how Tinubu showed him max support, He should be reminded. Buhari gained Yoruba peoples’ vote cos of Tinubu.
What it means by grateful is you being helped by someone and you wholeheartedly go back to say “Thank you”.
I wouldn’t blame Buhari though, drugs he must have been given from his often visits to doctors in the UK might have cleansed part of his memories. Making people to see him as heartless. He might have lost memories.
Why would the president of a country go to another country to seek medical attention ? . You shouldn’t forget that he will be put to sleep before operation begins. And the doctors have full access to all parts of his body as soon as he’s asleep. (A whole president of a country in the hands of another country’s doctors).
Don’t forget that these countries are medically advanced. They can inject you, and you’ll react to whatever they inject you with. They can choose to inject you to lose memories, to fall asleep, to die slowly, etc.
They might even place a tracker on Buhari (president of the country) and 200million Nigerians wouldn’t know.
They might even decide to rule us via Buhari. How about that. .
I wouldn’t blame Buhari, Tinubu should just focus and move on with his Presidential campaign cos Buhari is long gone and he might not be able to regain his senses back.
This life is a lesson. Your fairly long write up is comedic as well as perverse in that it reflects the Nigerian problem. Voter's choice is not part of the discussion because we never really have FREE and FAIR elections. We have selection not election.Thats why this dementia suffering delusional master public funds looter. Can talk about he made somebody governor and that it's his TURN to be President. Thankfully we finally have a credible candidate with no pre - election compromised loyalties just clear vision and a clear cut track record of delivery and unquestionable integrity. drDoom3: The Mexico that beat us on Sunday got whooped 3-0 by Uruguay today. We are so far behind.
Going forward, we will need to make difficult choices. Ekong is not good enough, simple. We need to find a good CB or two along with Ajayi who is decent but not spectacular.
Moffi should forget about the National team in the near future. The competition is just so much better.
Dessers is good, but I don't think he can displace any of Osimhen, Sadiq, Awoniyi in that order when it comes to quality. When the guys arrive, he will find it difficult to get any gametime, though he may probably still be in the team.
Iwobi and Aribo can man that midfield. We just need an Ndidi back, or at least an Onyeka. I feel like this game was the best I've seen of Iwobi creatively in the SE, my guy gave at least 3 delicious through passes Moffi and Dessers squandered.
Simon is simply not good enough. He is not consistent, you don't know what you get from him. Also, he loses the ball way too much.
3-5-2 might work with Osimhen from what I saw today. If we had an Osi and say an Awo/Sadiq pair today, we might be seeing a different result. I was happy we created a lot of chances against a decent side, our bane in the past few years has been creating enough chances.
Overall we need to be more precise in our play. We have players who are good on the ball, so we need to play the ball on the ground and pass our way to our opponents' goal. Dessers will retire Sadiq and Sadiq is not better than Awoniyi. Your order of preference is flawed. If Dessers played in the low level slow and laboured Segunda Division he would probably be top scorer in the league with at least 20 goals+ |

charlesemeka85: An established fact is that youths are the future of football and that is why every team around the world lay emphasis on having as many youngsters as possible on their roster.
However, international football is a bit different. It is well-known that clubs have the opportunity to sign players when they wish while national teams are not allowed the luxury.
In spite of this handicap, there is one hope for national teams. They can get players who have roots or connections to their countries to play for them.
This is why most national sides try to tie down talented players by capping them at the senior level quickly.
Nigeria have to move quickly for Arsenal wonderkid Miguel Azeez as he is one of the brightest prospects to come out of the Hale End Academy in recent years.
The 19-year-old was born in London to a Spanish mom and Nigerian dad, making him eligible to represent the national teams of England, Nigeria and Spain.
The central midfielder is a control freak who is already mastering the art of dictating the midfield tempo despite his tender years.
He has been capped at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels by England which is a testament to how highly rated he is.
However, Nigeria has one major advantage to explore when trying to get Azeez to play for the Super Eagles.
With the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Connor Gallagher, Emile Smith Rowe and even Jack Grealish ahead of him, Azeez would have a tough time trying to break into Gareth Southgate's squad.
In the Nigeria squad, Joe Aribo, Alhassan Yusuf and maybe Alex Iwobi, depending on the tactical set-up, are the ones who have natural traits to play in Azeez's position.
Putting it simply, he has a better chance of breaking into the Super Eagles' first team than England's.
The Hale End Academy graduate is a top-drawer future star in the making and Nigeria would do well to move to secure him now before he is cap-tied by one of the European nations. Youth football is not senior first team football, there is a HUGE gulf. How many games has he played for the first team ❓, he is 19 , how old was Saka when he became first team regular. Is he better than Carney Chukwuemeka ❓ |

It's Tega Abraham against Dessers somewhat a favourite of many here.
Roma are better but Feyenoord are putting up a spirited fight. The real test will be in the last quarter of the game when fatigue will have come in.

bidexiii: COAS TO TROOPS IN THE NORTH EAST AS EID-EL-FITR APPROACHES - "Remain Dogged, Unrelenting"
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged troops in the ongoing counter terrorism and insurgency Operations in North East to remain dogged and unrelenting in the critical stage of ongoing operations. He gave the charge at Headquarters Joint Task Force(JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai(OPHK), Maiduguri today Sunday, 1 May 2022.
The COAS, who was on routine operational visit to the JTF OPHK to assess the level of successes recorded thus far, called on troops to be more decisive in routing the criminal elements from their enclaves.
Gen Yahaya arrived the theatre of operations in company of some principal staff officers, where he was given an update on the ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY and Operation LAKE SANITY. He expressed satisfaction with the successes so far, urging them to remain vigilant and proactive during the Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.
General Yahaya enjoined troops to continue to decimate the insurgents, and deny them freedom of action. This he said, will provide a safe environment and opportunity for other elements of national power to play their statutory roles in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the theatre.
The COAS was conducted round on inspection of some combat equipment recently revamped using the Nigerian Army Electrical Mechanical Engineers Corps repair capability.

Rest Actually your proposition is baseless, unless you have another meaning for " Bossing ". In his first season in the EPL Son played 28 games and scored 4 goals. That is after a £22million transfer fee in 2015. You could say he flopped, nonetheless he has been improving over the years. De Bruyne did not have immediate dominance he scored 7 goals in his first season in 2016 not bad for an AM you could argue. It took him 5 seasons to get to double figures in a season, his best is 17 goals a season. But no one has exceeded in midfield the record of Yaya Toure of 20 goals in one season. Gundogan goal tally as a forward AM did not exceed 6 Goals in first 5 seasons. Admittedly Midfielder are not assessed by goals alone but assists and influence on the game, chances created goal are a cherries on top of the cake. Not always expected but gratefully appreciated. Once again your emotions get the better of you. It takes exceptional diligence and talent to have immediate dominance in the EPL . It has been done, Ronaldo, Diaz but it's the exception not the rule. |

mostob: Sir..what do you understand by out and out striker? From the first 3 paragraphs, Eto,Henry and Benzema are the pure strikers there. Others you mentioned are not strikers even though they do play there once in a while It is not just the diction of football that is changing but also the attributes associated with being a striker the more apt term is " FORWARD" player. Which requires a higher skill set that means you can play from both wings and down the middle. The traditional one dimensional striker is no longer the norm. Even when you see player's called strikers a good number can still play any forward position. Key component is to be technically astute and of course pace. |
