jieta: It seem you are God and you know what the future hold for us all, because i wonder how you confidently use this word ''may never'' .
Osimhen has five goals in ten appearance while ighalo has 16 in 35 appearance with this speed in two to three years i see osimhen beating ighalo record.
If you want to use the afcon as a criteria to judge osimhen he's already among the top scorers if am not mistaking with another two rounds of match's remaining. There is a phrase given to people who count chicks before the eggs have hatched. How far Osimhen will go or indeed how low is not established. On the other hand lghalo is proven and tested. |

JohnBullMySon: Sincerely I see no sense in recalling ighalo to the national team. dude has done well, but right now he's not really needed. we have a ton of strikers flooding in now, there needs to be healthy space for competition and not ranks and seniority playing out. if ighalo comes back, he'll love to be there till afcon and world cup and likely may be captain and be invited. So where will you keep onuachu, moffi, Simi, iheanacho, Maja . who are pushing their game up. these guys have even shown more consistence than ighalo lately, nobody can show with any evidence that ighalo will perform more than them currently. so how will things look like by 2022? we should learn to leave out old players who are past their peak, except they are extraordinary. it's a regular practice of the best national teams in the world. First of all, lf Ighalo wanted to continue playing in the EPL he would, maybe not neccesarily with Manchester United. Ighalo has nothing to prove, he has decided to follow the €€€£££$$$ thats his choice. None of the current set of strikers in the SE have surpassed his achievements and indeed may never and that includes Osimhen. So please let's give respect to whom respect is due. |

JayromWrites: OwngoalNigeria reporting that some Super eagles players are not happy with Rohr's insistence on recalling Ighalo
imo, let Odion rest, he should allow the young boys play
I don't think he will be comfortable with a bench role and he will only destabilize the team Let the best players play, youth is not the determinant of quality. How old is Ibrahimovich and Ronaldo, for goodness sake. |

12large1: it is only Nigerians that want to dismiss a 31 year old in his prime from Super Eagles even without "Experienced Replacement" when the likes of ibrahimovich, Ronaldo, buffon are still playing in their late 30's. Remember that ighalo was the top scorer at the previous immediate ANC that was 2 years ago and I believe that he is still good enough to pull a shift as a substitute. I agree with Rohr but ighalo must publicly signify an interest rather than SE begging for his return Agreed without reservation or question. Even the assumption that is made by many here that Osimhen is better than Ighalo is really assumptive not proven. |

Philosopher1979: Foreign borns that are really world class will not play for us. Only the average or good ones will. The problem is we are more keen on the world class players. Our football can produce good players easily and so we may not need the average ones But the reality is we simply do not have any world class players in the SE right now. So what's your point. Are are current players better than these so called by you " average players "such as Ademola Lookman, Tosin Adarabioyo, Oviemuno Ejaria, etc |

Philosopher1979: The funny thing is that iheanacho style of play fits italian football. Onuachu fits english football with his aerial game. Football is more about tactics than anything Good players adapt irrespective of the style. For instance, whatever the style Ibrahomvich will excel. However, if you are one dimensional you need a club and league that aligns itself to your specific skill set.

Subzero047: Osimhen is still Napoli's best striker so I don't see how a new coach will bench him The only reason you play is if you perform. If you don't perform even your high price tag will not help you. As for being Napoli best Striker, that accolade is EARNED not GIVEN. How many goals has he scored in Seria A this season ❓ |

12large1: To be fair, I don't think that he suit Napoli slow style of play but it is only his first season hope his fans doesn't pounce on him. This guy will suit Liverpool free flowing counter attacking team Agreed, his main attribute is pace, ball behind defenders to run on too. Crosses in the air with pace. He is not technically good enough for Liverpool. The Italian game is predominantly ball to feet and slow build up, very technical. These are not his attributes. |

Dannyxy: I have seen people on this thread, taking shots at osimhen, I decided to watch Napoli's match, some of you are jokers no cap, you try to sound smart, but know nothing...
Napoli is playing poorly, no midfield transition, poor performing wingers, I see a team who keep playing long balls to osimhen, who wins most of his challenges, without no support to transition, and someone who knows football will be mocking a striker of a struggling team, who is performing poorly, because he is from your country?.. For now, Napoli is playing poorly, and from what I see, osimhen is the only spark in the attack...
So please , you antagonist seeking glory, or best anti Nigeria players trophy should rest... I watched the game too from beginning to end. My observations are at dramatically different from yours. Victor was essentially caged at best he was able to hold the ball maybe 2/3 times. He is VERY PREDICTABLE and if Napoli is poor he is also poor, you cannot escape from that fact. He was not the most outstanding player for Napoli, as a striker he has a lot to learn. If he can score 10 goals this season he would have done exceptionally well. His play just like his team is one dimensional. He wants the ball behind the defence to run on too, but it's way too predictable and VERY EASY for the Atalanta defenders to read and mitigate. |

Arabiandude: Do you watch Napoli matches? If you do, then you will know that the problem isn't with Osimhen but the other forwards at Napoli, including some of their midfielders. To other Napoli players, they don't know if they have a top 9, all what they do is to try and score themselves. It's in Napoli you will see a player playing shot from the middle of the field with the intention of scoring and taken the glory. They play an "All Man For Himself" kind of football and as a top 9, it's only when balls are worked for you that you score goals. Look at Traore and now Haller at Ajax, both their midfielders and wingers Makes sure they create chances for them, but same can't be said of Napoli. Watch Atalanta matches, you will see the number of chances that are created for Zapata to score, same goals for Lukaku and Inter, Zlanta and AC, Immobile and Lazio, even including Ronaldo and Juventus, but same can't be said of Napoli and Osimhen. Mertens, Insigne, Politano, Lozano, all of them playing behind Osimhen, once they are with the ball, they dribbles one and the next thing that comes to their minds is to shot and not to pass and create chance for their top 9 who happens to be Osimhen. Top 9 ? ❓ Because he signed for £75 million doesn't make him a top 9. That accolade is EARNED not GIVEN you prove yourself whatever the circumstances by what you do on the pitch. They Napoli paid the same money that Inter paid for Lukaku. But only the most delusional will think theses two players are on par. Lukaku has been a top outstanding striker consistent and continous for over a decade. Osimhen had barely played two seasons of first team football and we labelled him, world class. He has a lot to learn and that big price tag is not going to help him. He now has to prove his quality or the knives will be out for him. Big money and BIG EXPECTATIONS follow. You can't blame the team. |

Lol @ Rohr with his inshallah but I think his problem is more in game tactics because he normally sets up well for starters. It is just when backs get against the wall that he can't truly be counted upon.
I think Osimhen can also play on the left wing to accommodate someone like Onuachu. Osimhen cannot play Wing in addition there are far better players on the wing in the SE than him. At best he would be a makeshift winger. |

If you add the boys including Timmy Abraham in the reserve / U23 you could add another 4/5. Maybe the influence of Omogbehin who is the U23 coach and has a lot of experience.
