bidexiii: How can you say 2018 to 2019 is the darkest era ! I can confidently say that the numbers are not true and they are infliated, so you're saying over 1000 soldier died yearly between 2018 and 2019. How do they came across the figures, what's the average death in a BHT ambush or attack on F.O.B, how many successful terrorist attacks that resulted in the death of soldiers ? The really dark days or era where between 2014 to 2016. BH really messed the military up.
After reading these comments in bold , i am beginning to see what your focus is.
i asked for a substantive discourse on the subject the expenditure of $600 million on the 12 A29's looking at alternative options , efficacy and best value. I & FEW OTHERS ARE STILL WAITING FOR YOU
But you prefer to post pictures of soldiers posturing and military hardware like we are adolescents who get excited and fantasize about being combatants.
And when anything is said that doesn't toe the line that PMB is the best thing since sliced bread, you respond with heightened indignation.
You don't substantiate, you make no appraisal you don't counter with facts or figures just your own self birthed opinions based on what , I SAID SO . You are beginning to be like a proxy Lai Mohammed.
In my opinion Samuel Anyanwu is the most authentic, on the ground real time TRUTHFUL contributor here , NO CONTEST. And you wish to attempt to contend with him , but on superficial emotive led bias and prejudice.
PROVERBZ: Mexicans are left feeling ashamed after there soft ball federation in an attempt to glory hunt, invited 14 USA born players who have never been to Mexico, don't speak Spanish into their team and left proud Mexicans whose only dream was to represent Mexico and nobody else. Now fast forward after the tournament the players trew away the uniforms and flags they were given into the trash in other to make space in their bags for free stuffs they got from the Olympics such as bedspread. Now the news has made all major news sites and the Mexicans feeling so ashamed and coursing out their federation for choosing the easy way out instead of focusing on developing the game in Mexico(inviting people who didn't know jack shit about what being Mexican felt like to represent them.) I can't wait for this to happen to Nigeria, let's see if we can get some national pride and try to develope the game at home instead of waiting around like a vulture to take unwanted players from this 1st world countries.
I am not surprised anymore.
But l have met multiple youth born and bred in Logos that cannot speak Yoruba.
A large part of the South South youths cannot speak the traditional language of their Fathers.
On the other hand l have met children born in the UK who speak Yoruba and Igbo fluently, not a lot but quite a few.
I could add myself to that list Speaking two Nigerian languages.
Are we therefore more Nigerian than the Nigerian born in Nigeria. I would not say so.
What therfore in your opinion the key component that makes you more Nigerian.
I could say controversially the ability to accept administrative mediocrity, Godfatherism and corruption. But l will not.
Do you mean playing in the Turkish league doesn't make you better?
Or, players from Turkish league don't develop into bigger teams?
It's essentially a retirement league.
When you are coming to the end of your career and no longer able to cut it, in more competitive leagues with better quality players. You go to Turkey ☪ take advantage of the very favourable tax regime and eventually retire.
Its probably the highest paying league for players lacking in true quality.
bidexiii: Mount check point for ever 2km to 5km or less, that was how it was done way back. I don't know why they stopped, Alot of people have been killed, kidnapped and unaccounted for on this dangerous and treacherous road.
Before it was destroying power gridlines, it's like this as stopped. They've now resulted into kidnapping, the army HQ should adapt to this terrorist tactics swiftly.
I know you would have lost alot of colleagues playing through this road
That's not how it is done in a forward thinking, pro active battle strategy.
Covert1: Actually there are so many secrets still not declassified. I doubt the Nigerian people would have gone along with it if made public. Governments often have to balance between domestic realities and foreign policy. All successive Nigerian presidents have been guilty of these secretive missions including the current one. But it's not common to Nigeria alone other foreign powers are guilty of same. This is why a lot of the intelligence and security votes are classified and not actually known. No one knows exactly what's done with all that money. I'm not even sure the president does.
It was not a secret to me.
Mentioned this donkeys ago met a few Nigerian combatants who had come for a number of specialist training courses in the UK.
My Father was still in the British army then and they talked about service in South Africa with the ANC armed wing.
Covert1: You know yourself you are suffering from the early stages of dementia. And why not go and work for CNN best at setting false narratives.
All these mischievous guys with multiple monikers you can actually do something better with your lives rather than ventilating your frustrated and ignorant lives in public.
After hyping vintage aircrafts of your beloved "powerful" sub-saharan African countries you went on to castigate Nigeria's by your carefully chosen degrading incorrect designation of the aircrafts. You are silly, s.ick and high on a new brand of contaminated weed you can't help. How further demented can someone be to go so low like all the other fake news outlets and their minions like you and the lone arrogant deluded Southie still gasping for air here that can't stand the reality of a true giant of Africa.
First and foremost most aircrafts are developed from prior aircrafts save mostly for the United States, Germany in consortium with France and the UK or in some cases Russia that would invest money in R & D for a whole new generation concept of fighter aircrafts.
You carefully designated the aircrafts of those poor countries you mentioned except South Africa to make it high sounding, modern and powerful. I will not join you in that charade. Because that's the joke of the century.
But here are the salient facts: First they are not in the numbers you mention except on paper. Most of them are inactive. Many of them don't meet the specifications necessary to have the advantage in air warfare. Two people can drive the same BMW doesn't mean they are of same specifications. Nigeria's A-29 Super Tucano is not same with that of Mali. In fact Nigeria's Super Tucano is among the most advanced 4th generation Aircrafts in the world for a turboprop, learn to ask why that is so.
Now in summary let us correctly designate the Nigerian Air Force Fleet. We have the JF-17 Thunder not your mischievous J7, that's only in your mind and apparent bitter hatred for Nigeria. The brand new NAF JF-17 Thunder has a beyond visual range and stand off weapon delivery capability with MFDs display and data-links. No sub-saharan Air Force apart from Uganda's Su-30s has BVR but then with no air-to-ground capability and suffering pilot drain. The NAF JF-17 Thunder comes with what some experts call the world's most advanced air-to-air BVR missile that gives NAF fighter pilots the capability to fire from any angle of attack without having to visually see or get behind enemy aircraft to hit the target with certainty.
The J-7 is the designation for the F-7 still in Chinese PLAAF service and still in use with many air forces world over. It is not your vintage Mig-21 rather the modern version of the Mig-21 from which the Mig-29 and now Mig-35 evolved. The Nigerian Version F-7Ni has a more modern avionics, cockpit, air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities and versatile for air interdiction and pin-point air defence with excellent turning rates. Try go up against it!
The work horse Alpha Jets of the NAF is more than 13 in number even after some losses due to attrition. The NAF continues to make available this aircraft for sorties round the clock. It has suffered high attrition rates because of its rugged use in active combat over the years from Liberia and Sierra Leone to the Niger-Delta against MEND, The Gambia and now on a daily ground over the North-East against terrorists and in the North-West against bandits. Experts think differently than you think, what they see is a versatile Air Force that can indigenously make available parts for an aircraft that is no longer in production and be able to employ same in air combat duties. This is not known in any other sub-saharan Air Force presently. Those who claim they do we have no evidence nor intelligence they can bring it to bear in actual combat which has proven true in their own domestic quagmire.
Then we have the L-39s which were not intended necessarily for combat when Nigeria bought them but also now employed in combat operations after being retrofitted. Nigeria is sending some of it's other fixed wing aircrafts for upgrades and maintenance overseas while others are done domestically. In addition to that the NAF is acquiring more modern aircrafts on a pace no sub-saharan African nation can match in the short term. Another important factor for the NAF is human capacity which is unrivaled in Africa.
The nations you mentioned is laughable. When you say Sudan and that grandiose you mentioned what comes to mind is Iran telling us it is producing a fighter Jet are you calling us nuts! You need to be sent back to kindergarten. This is the Sudan with all its hardware typical of any Arab Army can't stop the secession of South Sudan which trounced it back and forth until it achieved independence. Neither could Sudan quell internal insurgencies except sending its Janja.wee.d militia to rape, kill and pillage in Darfur until UN peacekeepers came in.
Then you mention Ethiopia that was taken to task by tiny Eritrea with obsolete weapons and now your mighty Ethiopia is begging for a ceasefire from it's own Tigray people. You must be kidding us. Where is all their Sukhoi jets you reeled out. Please the joke is on you. The same goes for all the other nations you just mentioned. South Africa got spanked in Bangui by rag tag rebels and fled for safety even begging the French to come save them. Dem no born that country well wey try Naija, you know how we do we go roast them for fire. You can't even try it cos the Nigerians will keep coming until its dignity is acquitted for.
Please stop putting Nigeria in the same category as those nations you mentioned. I only just mentioned some fixed wing aircrafts with which we are doing wonders not even our modern rotary aircrafts some of the best in the world not even Africa and then UCAVs also among the best in the world and number one in all of Africa and then satellite and defense intelligence unmatched and unrivaled which gives us the advantage of first-see-first-kill capability in the event of war. This is just the NAF and beyond all that we have the money and the intelligent set of people to prosecute any war anywhere in Africa even with all our internal wahala to its logical conclusion. When the US tell you Nigeria is the most important country in Africa they know what they mean and that's not because of oil but its people.
Take your child school antics elsewhere.
What do you call a person who starts a conversation with abuse and vitriolic rhetoric
People lacking in capacity and with low self esteem tend to denigrate, castigate and belittle others to feel important.
I will not join you in the gutter or engage with you.
Nigeria is bitter disappointment not just to Nigerians but the entire black race. I will not reduce my expectations and enthroned mediocrity.
Some do here but not ME.
Nigeria needs to stand up and be counted as the true giant of Africa unfortunately this crop of leaders past and present have FAILED.
I used an Uber taxi , driver had a saloon version of a Ford Focus 1.8 , and he said he has been using the car day in day out without any issues.for 18 months. He had previously used a Corolla.
He explained the parts are readily available although he has only changed break pads to date and that was a year ago. H e also said that 90% of Toyota parts are copies not original. But the parts for Ford are OEM or Ford original and last way longer like his break pads one year plu and not worn down at all.
He claimed the fuel consumption on his 1.8 Ford focus was better and yes the Ford was considerably cheaper than a Toyota. His was if i guess right a 2007/8
Choice is your be INNOVATIVE or follow the crowd .
GabrielYulaw: Please read again. I wasn't making an exact quote. I was making an example of what we like to do in the area of procurement. That's why we have equipment from almost every country in the world and enough varieties of small arms to guarantee a logistical nightmare.
As for the Tucanos, you and I can agree to disagree. But I would be very interested in hearing what you would purchase if you had $600 million in the bank.
I have been waiting for the response of Bidexii it seems for ever.
You are the most prolific contributor to this particular forum , but you have gone VERY SILENT.
I want to be educated , informed possibly challenged by a well thought out substantive write up that will bring value to this discourse.
But there is deafening silence.
Apart from yourself not one person has made a constructive contribution that is factual, well thought out and substantive TO DATE.
Are we adolescents that just like pictures and delusional praise singing And have a preference for FABLES over FACTS.
Covert1: The brand of weed you are smoking makes you oblivious of your grand delusions to think those paid for the job are delusional. Go ahead and search for copy and paste material.
Just imagine the expensive joke of putting Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan in the same box with Nigeria. South Africa may be marginally considered but this must give you a new high to even dare come up with such grand adventurous military concupisence.
Its all very well ranting and making noise like erring schoolboys. But at least let there be some semblance of rational if not substance to your propositions.
So, lets do a perfunctory summary of these air forces that you have dismissed with such unguarded disdain and make comparison with esteemed and the absurd claim of NAF unrivalled domination in sub Saharan Africa. Just one proviso, we are looking at offensive attack aircraft primarily. Kenyan Air force -23 F5E Attack jet aircraft and 12 short Tucano CAS. 6 Cobra, 7 bell UH1 and 45 M500, 13 Puma 330, etc approximately 100 attack/ utility helicopters.
Sudanese Air force – 20 F7, 20 SU 25, 20 Q5, 12 SU35, 10 Mig 29(refurbished and upgraded locally by Sudan) etc total jet attack aircraft approx. 100. Sudanese air force attack aircraft incl. helicopters: 43 Mi 24/35, Mi-8/17/171 26, various others total attack helicopters close to 100. UAV's 50+ Iranian and Chines various.
Finally, COIN turbo prop aircraft with precision guided munitions, the single engine similar to A29 Tucano is Sudan’s SAFAT-03. Locally manufactured since 2015. See pictures below.
Ethiopian air force – 20 SU27, 10 Mig 23, 10 L39, 40 attack jet fighter aircraft. Helicopters attack / utility 8 Mi24 & 14 Mi7 total 22.
South African air force – Saab Gripen 39 26. BAE Hawk 23, total 49 attack air craft. Attack/ utility helicopters 12 Rooivalk, 43 Oryx (puma 330) Augusta 109 25 total 80. SA produces a lot of air craft components and as well as its own air craft so its impossible to really know their true inventory of aircraft.
Angolan air force- 80+ attack jet fighter aircraft 13 SU30,12 SU25, 12 SU 22, 45 MIG 21/23 and 6 A29’S. Attack helicopters Mi-8,17,171 = 66, Mi 24/35 = 14, Gazelle 8 and other variants approx. total 100+.
The unrivalled most superior air – force in Sub Saharan Africa the NAF; Attack aircraft Alpha jet 13, F7 (Chinese Mig. 21) 9, JF7 Thunder 3, L & MB339 12 and turboprop A29 attack CAS 6, Total attack aircraft 37. Attack helicopters and UAV’s; Mi-17/171 -5, Mi 24/35- 15, various others 16. UAV’s estimated 8.
So can some people stop smoking strong weed and being delusional and have a reality check. In the cold light of day can we say the NAF is comprehensively superior to any of the afore mentioned air-forces.
RiceProducers: What airforces please?. Those guys can't operationslise the jets at the level Nigeria is. Angola had the largest number of planes at one time but we observed Savimbi still kept advancing and nearly won the war. Hardware is nothing
Everything you have said here is assumption from bias and Nigerian based preference.
You are talking about history that is irrelevant with what's happening today.
Savimbi was a western stooge propped up by the Apartheid regime and the USA. He died 20 years ago and was active in the 80's and early 90's.
How do you know that Angola does not have the technical capacity to effectively run its own airforce.
You should do some open source independent research. You will find the NAF is only highly rated by us here not the world as the best air force in the sub Saharan Africa.
Covert1: With the arrival of the JF-17 Thunders and the A-29s followed on by the drones the Nigerian Air Force has achieved a high and low mix of air combat capability response unrivaled in sub-saharan Africa and with the likelihood of the M346 a peer dominant air power in Africa.
I know its expected to blow your own trumpet but you are moving to the point of delusion.
Please check the Air-forces of S. Africa, Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan before you make such a statement, unrivaled domination across West Africa a very big YES but Sub Saharan Africa a very big NO.
bidexiii: I don't get your point His $600m too much for the Tucanos or his it a waste You can't win with UAV drones alone in any CION, even developed armies with there UAV technology and might, they still suffer heavy casualties. Don't forget the Tucano is an ISR platform on itself. The $600m is what we need, not forgoing other assets like the UAV. With the UAV base in Niger Republic, western and European forces are not changing anything in Mali, there forces have suffered heavy casualties and likewise the host countries. So please stop using historical inheritance from European or western power as your bases.
I set the stage to have a substantive discourse on this particular subject matter , putting forward a quasi if you like " terms of reference" that would ensure objectivity as opposed to emotive sentiment based on self birthed preference.
You are one of the most prolific and long standing contributors to this thread , you are informed, articulate and conversant and i value your contributions.
My response question , i think is transparently clear.
So what do you mean by "I don't get your point " Or is there anybody else that does not get my point and quest for a substansive discourse ?
I have quite a lot of work to finish tonight and tomorrow so i hope to give my substantive response on or before the weekend.
PAQ: Your hatred for Corolla will not stop its sales and appeal. The Corolla is the worlds highest selling car for a reason. A heavy v6/v8 ride does not equate to safety on the highways.
For those who choose emotive sentiment over rational and objectivity. Below a link to two YouTube video which explains the matter CONCLUSIVELY.
Getsaved: Thank you for speaking a part of the mind of many of the Niger Delta people. I am not saying we will be part of Biafra, me think Nigeria will split into several regions.
Folks, let me tell us something, you see these so called elders (both our kings, community leaders) of the Niger Delta region, they are so so corrupt, deceitfully compromised, polically dumb that they hardly see the good in the general development of their people. They are very nepotic, greedy and extremely selfish. These kind of people cannot speak for the whole of their region and be taken seriously. The youth of the Niger Delta are very much aware now, the too much respect we accorded you people in position of power because of the thought that you guys are suppose to be wise and foresighted (which you are not and cannot) has expired. No more respect for you guys.
Pa Edwin, you only spoke your mind, you have a right to your opinion and so does the people of your region. You heard what the overall Oba of the youroba nation said recently to all leaders in Nigeria, "the youths are getting more and more bolder and they becoming bold now to face us because we have failed them, we've have never carry them along, we must tell our selves the truth". Very soon, just very soon, maybe the next protest that will break the Camel's back. We'll know the part the Niger Delta belong. Weather they will join Biafra, or be Niger Delta Republic, we will know.
I will even suggest, if it were possible, the whole south and middle belt should come together to form a better nation with them having different regions and states that generate revenue and remit some per cent age to the center. so that the people at the top will be top notch managers, vision driven and innovators. That's my take.
Corruption is not the singular preserve of the older generation and or the Elders.
I will remind you that Nigeria was plunged into a bloody civil war by our own very Youthful leaders at the time. That's the legacy of youth in Nigeria.
It's often said that the youth of a country are the future of that country.
Now look at the majority of our youths. I was very disturbed by the depth to which the culture of " Yahoo" in all its different modes and forms has taken over the country.
In my first hand emotive based far from substantive observation at least 60% of the youth in the South of Nigeria are involved directly or indirectly in this occupation.
There are some hotels that will go bankrupt if Yahoo comes to an end. There are policeman who will literally die of hunger of there are no Yahoo boys to harass and collect money from.
Some of these youth's will murder and eat their own parents in satanic Yahoo rituals to make money. Nothing is too low to go for money they haze zero conscience.
So if the youth are the future of the nation then we are FINISHED.
InsideLove: Good evening all. My name is Joy David. Please I humbly seek your help. I'm a student coming from a poor home and things are not really easy with me here in school. I've been seeing people begging online but never knew I'll be one someday. Nothing on me again pls. Help me with any amount pls. I can show you my proof if you want.

You joined nairaland on the 7th June it makes your story lack credibility.
Psalmistproject: Who created south south? Was it not after the civil war northerners split the region to reduce the powers of igbos and preach to the south south members that they are different from them. What is the difference between north east and north west? Even parts of the north agrees fully they belong to northern nigeria. A time will come when the south south will wish they had South Eastern region together with them. But it may be too late. Bakaasi was seeded to Cameroon with considering the indigin sous people inhabiting the place. Funny enough, this land belongs to South south. The north needs the oil wells in the south to fund their states and sister countries and will rather sell parts or the entire South south to another country of their allegiance to keep the south south to themselves.
South East doesn't need the oil money to grow. Check history, south east used to be among the top regions generating IGR without oil. If I were to be in south south, I will team up with south east to secede from the grips of the north, then later I can demand for my liberation. Igbo enweghi eze, igbos are democrats, if you are a king, that's for your pocket everyone has equal rights.
People who have been abused often perpetrate the same abuse when put in the same position of power.
You want all minority tribes in the South South to join Biafra and become third class citizen in their own land and become tenants while the Igbo leading majority tribe will make take all the oil wealth.
Biafra is ⚓ anchored on IGBO TRIBALISM and IDENTITY not economic growth and development and social integration. What will it deliver an egalitarian society or a IGBO DOMINATED one based on tribal bigotry.
There is no support for IPOB in the South South. You should listen to JP Clark and stop the delusion.
Toju200: first of all we're getting first 6 soon they've already left the US The Reason for the delay was because the US were been remodified The US said so themselves. And what "Bitter truth" are you talking about
Why is it paining you that we had to pay $400mil+ for Turbo prop planes. We've even corrected you we didn't pay $600mil And even the $400mil+ covers alot of things Modifications of the original A29 Two spare engines each Ammunitions Remodification of ACTG to fit the A29 Training of 60+ NAF personnel
The A29 was specifically built for CTCOIN operation close air Support,Air Interdiction,ISR The only disadvantage is speed plus it's speed it near the Aero L-39 if I'm not mistaking correct me here if I'm wrong
Despite the Fact it's turbo prop it's even more quiet than the alpha jet YES! It can deliver it's payload at a safer distance and altitude accurately It's ISR capability gives it an edge over most of the birds we have Instead of the ATR42 or kingAir To Conduct ISR and call in strike assets (Waste of fuel and time also plus putting the lives of alpha jet pilots on the line) the A29 will Easily do both eliminating it's target with Guided munitions Time and Fuel been saved. The wing loong two the other hand is a perfect platform I wasn't against it. So NG get both is a win win EOD!!!
With regards to the bold nobody corrected me and a few others, we even brought out a gazzeted congressional document that stated $593 million for the total package. There is accountability in the USA its not shrouded in secrecy but made public if you look.
On the cost factors, i did a substantive contribution on the cost of 5 minutes of rapid fire from its cannons , look that up and you will not call anything about this aircraft cheap beyond the fuel.
The rest is your opnion although its not based on "BEST VALUE"
bidexiii: If there is any best air assets for CION; definitely it's going to be the A29 super tucano. Leave it or take, yes in time to come it's going to change the tide of the war against insurgency. We are getting the first six camo batch, not 3 or so mate
If i was to say to you that the USA JLTV was the among best light tactical armoured vehicle i would explain why and be substantive, the same would be with the German PUMA IFV , exactly the same would be if I said the Apache was the best attack helicopter i would explain why.
You have made a blanket statement that best COIN aircraft is the A29 Tucano, i should therefore believe you. Educate people present the pros and cons , best value rational, efficacy , etc Dont just say ITS THE BEST .
bidexiii: Everyone knows we need more UAV, more eyes in the sky. Spending $600m on the Tucanos is not a waste, we need them has well. That is where I totally disagree with you, from your point of view you're calling the acquisition of these birds waste of money. Which I totally disagree with you mate. Let's assume we get those UAV, what are you going to use to prosecute the targets, his the the UAVs. We need the UAV and has well birds both fixed wing and the rotary wing. For me I'll rather go for technology transfer either from Turkey, China or the Israelis. We are on our way to the right path. We need more UAV and as well has more birds to replace our ageing fleets
Lets talk substantively that means where possible to reference our view, deductions and strategy.
You have been here long enough, you have knowledge, either by participation and or association, I am similar but European biased.Your expectations shaped by your engagements i want to believe at Nigerian military bases and with multiple discourse with NCO's and senior officers alike.
My experience has historical inheritance as well association participation albeit it is European biased but i did a lot of hanging out with USA combatants at a plethora of bases across Europe but mainly Germany and Europe. My expectations are shaped by that environment primarily nonetheless i have association with Nigerian senior officers as well some who trained in the UK.
Having this in mind, in detail how would you spend $600 million in whatever way you want to bring an end to this war , reduce our unacceptable casualties and if not totally annihilate Boko but give ourselves over riding advantage to end this war ASAP.
Toju200: I dunno who abused you but I don't want to argue this again... Change topic pls
It becomes relevant because after 5 years in the waiting we are finally going to get the first 3 or so A-29 Super Tucano AT LAST, if we believe the press they are FINALLY on the way.
And maybe we might just get the next 9 this decade hopefully.
Maybe bitter truth is very hard for you to swallow and you prefer sugar coated lies and disinformation, the choice is yours.
willybaby: Anyone who calls the Tucano farm planes with so much self confidence if possible needs to be kicked off this thread..
They may not be crop dusters.
But game changers in this war , ABSOLUTELY NOT, effective in a limited way yes .
However, considering the procurement cost and delivery time, as well as best value and best use of scarce resources as well as battle efficacy in the HEAR and NOW, an absolute WASTE OF MONEY.
That "WASTE OF MONEY" becomes more pronounced and substantiated when alternative platforms and other options are considered in the HEAR and NOW.
I wonder why the USAF and all NATO countries dont field this aircraft beyond the experimental, that should tell us something.
bidexiii: Badly and the UAV. Honestly I wish we could acquire more UAVs honestly. These banditry issue is getting out of hand, we need more eyes in the sky. Soldiers and other security personnel can't be everywhere.
How many moons ago did I raise this issue, not with assumptive sentiment based preference but substantively. Using "Best value" and best use of resources for the greatest impact and efficacy .
I got dogs abuse and a barrage of vitriolic rhetoric sent my way, with you mostly on the side of negativity.
Nigeria is facing an existent crisis and somebody is spending $600 million to acquire A-29 Super Tucano and add ons, for an aircraft that has taken 5 years or thereabouts for the 2/3 few to arrive. That incomprehensibly SHOCKING.
I also talked about the possibility of them being susceptible to rudimentary AA Fire from the plethora of enemy technical on the ground. Do not forget this is an aircraft that is supposed to be for CAS - close Air Support. The noise from the Tucano makes its presence well know before it even arrives on the battle scene it is much slower than an Alpha jet , so how safe is it for pilots, time will tell.
The USAF and NATO do not use any of these turbo prop aircraft beyond the experimental, I wonder why
I over flogged the comparison of the Wing Loong 2 UAV's nonetheless Pakistan has just bought 48 estimated cost plus munitions and technology transfer $65 million.
If 48 Wing Loong 2 UAV's were deployed in the North of Nigeria it would literally change the entire course of this war and reduce our casualties tremendously and with ground support almost end Boko Haram.
You need some education, you quite clearly lack the capacity to respond substantively. I asked you to explain and educate me. But you have done NOTHING.
Getting a work permit is not a routine exercise for players who are not outstanding or exceptional talent. That's the basic framework for a work permit in England.
Now that you have been enlightened explain how he met the criteria for a work permit. It's very simple.
I know multiple players from Africa who were not outstanding but found ingenuous, but still legal ways to meet the criteria and or evade by circumstance the requirements.
Whyem15: A few weeks ago, I saw a tweet about how the NA is ill using armored tanks and other force multiplying platforms by using them to defend bases/garrisons rather than one being used to take out ISWAP's heavy equipment during offensive to make it easier for infantry to clear up the terrorists and that's the absolute truth. I believe this is intentional, the military wants the war to drag on for several years so that they can get as much funding as possible.
Majority of NA's armored tanks, IFVs, MRAPs and others destroyed by BH/ISWAP were destroyed when the terrorist attack bases either by burning from inside or throwing a grenade inside while they are unmanned!!!
All these nonsense of "it's terrorists territory few kilometers outside of garrisoned towns" won't be happening if tanks and IFVs as support platforms are used for patrols rather than the suicide guntrucks. Those platforms are designed to withstand RPG hits and that's the best the terrorists have.
From what I can see l do not think the NA has a definitive IFV in its armoury. Maybe very recently if at all.
Boko has never had heavy weaponry.
What is needed is mobility, precision weaponry at all levels, armoured vehicles as standard transport not soft skinned pick-up trucks and a complete revamp of our communication infrastructure.
And the missing key for me is at least 50 UAV complemented by at least 30 heavy lift helicopters for quick response.
The enemy is very fluid and mobile to mitigate against this enemy. The NA must be able to respond with lethal expediency.
The narrative of " we repelled the enemy" is simply not good enough. We should be able to search and destroy.
And the narrative should be Engage, Overtake and ANNIHILATE.
willybaby: I chose to dis agree, the Taliban might be called a terrorist group but I see them more as a political group, remember they once ruled the whole of Afghanistan infact they were massively cheered into power then, secondly the Taliban is helped also by topography of where they operate, mountains valleys caves etc huge loads of them to hide in..
Boko is pure terror, a force only bent on destruction they too enjoy a little bit of aid from d society, also have sambisa and the Chad region to hide in, but Nigeria alone decimated Boko haram the Taliban I don't think has ever been wiped by USA, Russia, NATO, like we've done with Boko mind you we started the war lacking proper modern equipments to persecute asymetric warfare
Consider the bold.
Are you serious Or maybe you just joined the forum and you have been without access to a TV and or the Internet for the past decade.
As a result you are completely UNAWARE of what's been happening in Nigeria for the past decade.
Stormtrooper11: I'll prefer if we still use the 7.62x39mm caliber. Its more devastating on the enemy. 7.62x39mm caliber rifes can shoot lower caliber ammo too. I'll suggest that our military should try and make an indigenous rifle. We could make a version out of the beryls and AKs.
That's not TRUE.
The standard AK47 chambered with 7.62x39mm gives a huge amount of Recoil has less effective range ( 300 meters) and the bullet doesn't do more damage on the human body than 5.56×45mm.
If we use the HK G36 which is chambered with the 5.56x45mm. You are talking of effective range of 800 metres. Far less recoil much greater accuracy.
jihday: SMH, Brewster who never played any serious league game was sold for 18mill but a proven player like Taiwo won't even be sold for half of that amount? True true English footballers are over rated
The terms of comparison are very different.
Brewster is young potential top player who did very well as a teenager for Swansea in the very physically taxing Championship. 10 goals from 20 games.
In addition ( not my particular standard) he did get the accolade as the highest goal scorer at U17 World cup. So that's indicative of very good potential.
Awoniyi has been at best " below average " on all his loan moves since his career started. He is 24 next month. He has been playing for 6 years with nothing to say he is outstanding.
I could add, I've watched both of them play and train up close and personal and my preference would be for Brewster.
I don't think Brewster is worth £20 ➕ but somebody was willing to pay.
