chrisooblog: you have to understand what Andy is saying. Pepe on his own is a quality CB who I agree is better than most EPL defenders including Chelsea's bar Silva. Their are football formations that can cover the short comings of most defenders and have them looking like the second coming of Baresi. Rudiger is flourishing very well under Tuchel when we know on the best of days he's as jam body as it gets. Defenders like Pepe can do well in various setups like 4 or 3 at the back but guys like Rudiger or Christensen just mistakenly play them highline the way Dias and Stones do for City and you will think you are watching a comedy movie. Pepe currently will not make it as a first choice CB in any top EPL side considering the physicality as well as speed required, he just will not be able to cut it IMO |

12large1: I wasn't a fan of Onuachu based on his horrible performance for SE and I'm not just talking about Goals his overall performance for SE was Atrocious prior to his last 2 games. In his last 2 games vs Benin, Lesotho, his overall performance was impressive and he capped it with 2 goals. This is why it's imperative to invite in form players because Confidence can be the difference between 0 goal and 1 goal I really did not think Onuachu has had a bad game, what I did notice is that for a guy who has aerial dominance as one of his main attributes he had zero service. Players more interested in aimless dribbles with no end product than giving him a good cross for him to attack in the 18. I concluded are wingers simply cannot cross the ball to save their lives, excluding the wing backs, like Aina. |

lloydtruth: Honestly in this case I am. Not because Bayern Munich is so big for Sadiq but because I don't see Bayern Munich as a club that can give Sadiq a fair chance. I prefer him playing regularly at Sevilla and winning little or no trophy than winning plenty trophies while sitting on Bayern Munich bench. Between the two links, I think that of Sevilla stands more realistic but it needs the Bayern Munich speculations to speed up the process. Not too long ago, last season B.Dortmund payed £25million for a teenager from the Championship (farmers league) according to quite a few ill informed here. His name is Jude Bellingham, not only has he claimed position but has been called to England senior squad and he is still only 17 , all in one season. If Sadiq is true quality he will claim position and very soon displace Osimhen, Ighalo and any others. But if he is not , then he will be found out very quickly. True quality does not hide or hibernate. |

That dude is giving everything he's got. But is that good enough for a £75 million + player. To whom much is given much is expected. I know there are many who will think he has performed excellently so far. |

ChrisKels: Another big steal after Koulibaly and Eduard Mendy is Abdou Diallo. I even read that his younger brother who plays for Southampton is considering going to the AFCON with Senegal.
Did you know that it doesn't take more than two weeks for those players to get cleared from France to rep any of these francophone countries, unlike England that takes up to 2years to clear a player for the anglophone countries in Africa? MISINFORMATION It took barely 18 days for Wilfred Zaha to change allegiance from England and that is after playing senior games for the first team not just youth football. Add to that England was very reluctant to let him go, there was controversial opposition to his move to Cote De Voire. But it still only took a mere 3 weeks. Meanwhile a lot of people here think the problem is the players who were born in the UK. Why should it take years to get Oviemuno Ejaria clearance, a person who committed to Nigeria over 3 + years ago. Or should we talk about Ademola Lookman. |

I'm just afraid of posting something that would bring problems for me in the future. The fact that your name might be googled and your comments on nairaland would easily pop up. Do you know how many young footballers who have lost multi million pound contracts because of irresponsible social media comments. Before we sign a player we get the media team to do a comprehensive socail media check. We then find a comments sometimes rancourous and vitriolic rhetoric against the manager or the club it could have been 3,4,5 years made reckless youthful exuberance. Unfortunately those silly comments have cost him a lucrative contract with a top EPL club. |

nairalandankrah: Bar injuries , I think Nacho is now the finished article..its all there right now. everything you need to be a striker for Brendan. The touch, hold up play, passing, pressing, finishing top notch.
Rodgers could've sold him off to fernerbahce earlier on but opted to keep him instead while crafting out a post vardy formula that will bring out the beast in him.. His first touch, ( which has often been his acheles hill), his link up play, and all round game has magnificently improved.. Add that to his natural nick of being at the right place at the right time and you now have a man worth more than the 50million pounds buy back clause mancity inserted into his contract..
Now the formula has been found, tested against a top team(second in the table) and there's no going back..
Nacho single handedly delivered a semi final spot to Leicester after over 30 years of their waiting..God forbid's but imagine if nacho gets injured and is unavailable for the finals and Leicester goes on to loose, trust me, the fans will imagine a different scenario had he been present..) That's goes to show how much the senior man has grown in leaps and bounds.. So What more than to build the team around him now surely?..
Even if Barnes returns, its Perez that'll drop to the bench.. Nachos development or soaking of knowledge (as thesupernerd will call it) is finally complete.. Credit must go to Brendan anyways, for putting faith in the lad..
I see kelechi with a masterclass performance against mancity @wembley final, effectively denying them the cup. I see kelechi @ the champions league next season... Football is a very short term career. Time is very scarce COMMODITY. Finding a manager with bags of patience is near impossible considering the pressure to win each and every game. Brendan has given KC a HUGE amount of time and showered him with BAGS OF PATIENCE. Hopefully, KC will consistently return that uncommon faith put in him by the manager. This is why having a GOOD RELATIONSHIP with your manage is absolutely essential to progress. |

elunico: I bet Komekn would come out with his usual denigrating of this lad, telling us he's not scored up to 50 goals for the past 4 seasons. His "HERE AND NOW" theory fails to come to play in times like this. Actually in the immediate HERE and NOW he is the most IN -FORM striker that Nigeria has. However, he has scored in consecutive matches, he looks way sharper and brimming with CONFIDENCE the oil that produces goals. Is it a flash in the pan or is it better things to come after 4 seasons of outright mediocrity. Only time will tell. The cherry on the pie would be Leicester beating Man city on Saturday and KC scoring that will put all the past under perfoming years to bed. Even if they don't win, and KC can score against his former employers, just one goal two would be bliss and three would amazing. When things go well and you are performing the past is often forgotten and replaced with the HERE and NOW. The key component of a quality top class striker is CONSISTENCY he needs to get that. Let's see the next 9 coming games before the end of the season, to call yourself a quality striker he should really score at least 6. I am actually impressed, it seems he has finally climbed out of his perennial doldrums. |

12large1: My friend any player that only picked Nigeria because he wasn't called up to a nation senior team after playing for all their youth level is a "REJECT" You and I know it abeg no dey deceive yourself. But just because you were a country one time reject doesn't mean that they won't regret losing you or you won't have a successful career. Anyway, when I mean first choice Nigerians, I'm referring to players that were born, raised and picked Nigeria as their first choice. We should be focusing on grassroots, football academy, NPL so that in few years, we would be producing talents at an astronomical level Your proposition is without substance and is far from objective and is born from perception and possibly preference. With regards to your units of measurement that you anchor the deduction " REJECT " I disagree completely. First of you do not choose and decide which country selects you for national team selection. Oviemuno Ejaria and Lookman Ademola chose Nigeria at the age of 15/16 but Nigeria did not select them, however England did. Are they therefore Nigerian REJECTS ❓ Or is Eberechi Eze a Nigerian reject after choosing Nigeria he was forgotten and ignored for years. But England called him for youth football and he said YES, is he also by your unit of measurement. A Nigerian REJECT ❓ ❓ And don't say they were not good enough AT the time . Alex Iwobi had not played one game for Arsenal in the EPL for Arsenal but was given SE first team selection. How good was he. Or indeed Osimhen and the winger Chukwueze. Was he better than Sone Aluko who was a proven EPL player, who played exceptionally well for the SE. But was not given any call up commensurate with his standing. Finally, players born and bred in Nigeria, have only one option Nigeria they have no other choice. It's not a matter of alternative options. |

kellycute: what is your assessment of nacho in the here and now?. Do you think he will feature regularly going forward or he will return to a bit part player when Harvey and Madison return from injury?. Very simple one game doesn't make a player. He has played 87 games in the EPL for Leicester has now played 4 seasons and scored a total of 15 goals. Thats what many fanatics call exceptional skill and prolific striker. However, that's not my opinion. He scored a hatrick against a demoralised mentally defeated, relegated and managerless Sheffield United. A very good performance WITHOUT DOUBT, but it doesn't wipe away 4 seasons of mediocrity. It creates great expectations for him to live up to. The question is can he replicate and for once show some quality consistency or revert back to his consistent under perfomances. So maybe Brendan may give him more game time. |

First of all I don't see any of Porto CB's and or Wing backs displacing the current Fulham first choices. Let's look at the midfield nobody on the midfield for Porto is better than Anguissa. 1 we have many wingers and we are not desperate for wingers. Even totenham is interested in Paul Mukairu. I mean the list goes in kali, simon, onyekuru etc. If he was an attacking midfielder we will be desperate for him as we lack options there.
2. I don't know much about it but maybe the switching of nationality process is taking longer than usual. I've flogged this issue many times and it absolutely doesn't take more than 3/4 weeks. Forget the absolute Balderdash presented as rational by some here that exonerates the NFF from crass ineptitude. Go and ask the NFF, because Ademola made his commitment along with Oviemuno over 2 years ago unofficially over three years ago. Fulham in my opinion is better than Porto.
