There is nobody in the Chelsea team among the forwards that he technically better than. So how will he easily start. His main weapon is pace, that his pace will work in a much slower French league but not in the EPL. He is definitely faster than Giroud but that's not enough he will need more. |

Danielnino00: Osimhen being the centre point of Lille's gameplay simply shows how good he is,don't you think.. Tammy on the other hand has been benched several times by a 33 years old Giroud and now,a much better striker has been signed to give him competition or maybe bench him..
Osimhen got 4 assists and created 5 big chances in the league this season.. Tammy on the other hand got just 1 assists and created 1big chances..
U self judge am..who is the better team player?unless u want to stick with your "stats are indicative " bla bla
Napoli are one of the most tactically balanced team in Italy and maybe Europe... They are a team that have maintained a possesive attacking style of play in the past 5 seasons despite having different managers.. They have/had some very fine players like Mertens,Insigne,Milik,Callejon,Lozano,Koulibaly,etc... Do u really think they would spend that much money on Osimhen if they thought he wasn't good enough to play for them? On the other hand,Tammy was quite lucky to play for Chelsea.... If they really wanted him, they would have called him back afrer his back to back fine season in tge championship..instead,they waited until a transfer ban came in before giving him and other youth players a chance.. Osimhen worked his way to the top...it wasn't handed to him on a platter of gold!
I have answered your question... You just decide to pretend I didn't.. Actually it's the contrary, Victor being the center point and focal point of Lille, shows how poor the team is not how good. The term team is anchored in its entirety on COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION. The opposite of that is singular responsibility and participation or focus. When we talk about team work it's about cooperation, sharing responsibility, fusion and convergence of tasks in a collective. Osimhen is the quintessential number 9 in Lille, everything is about him and for him in the team it's a singular approach. Osimhen scored 13 goals in the French league one and his team 35 that's over 40% of the goals by one man. The closest person to him had 7 goals in Loic Remy. Now compare to Chelsea 69 goals in the EPL, Tega 15, Pulisic 9, Willian 9, Giroud 8, Mount 7. There is really nothing to discuss it's obvious as daylight unless your in darkness. A heat map reflects more the team strategy not the individual attributes of a player. Tega earned the right to play in Chelsea after consistent continous outstanding perfomances in the Championship and EPL over three seasons. He is proven and tested. Everything you have written about Napoli is assumptive deduction by self birthed perception. Finally, l asked you to name the player attributes that Victor exceeds Tega with to make him better ❓ ❓ But you could not find one. You have avoided the question. |

Danielnino00: To summarize, Osimhen is a better team player than Tammy..
Their respective heatmap for the season should tell u something..
Pic 1 : Tammy's
Pic 2 : Osimhen's Heat map proves nothing it's not even Indicative. Each team has a different strategy and approach to the game. First of all Chelsea is not a team that focuses on one player as it's focal point. But rather emphasis is on the attacking formation. As such you will find a Pulisic 9, Willian 9, Giroud 8, and Mount 8 all scored. What you have is interaction and team play among the forward lines, that's why you have multiple goals from multiple sources. And so Tega scores goals from the interaction between players. So if he wasn't a good team player in a highly technical team, how did he score 15 EPL goals. Victor Osimhen position is totally different, he is essentially the team. Their entire team strategy is centred around him. He is the focal point of the entire team, the team strategy is very simple, "give the ball to Victor" Almost half of all the goals Lille scored in French league one where scored by Victor. That says it all, out of 35 goals scored by Lille in the league, 13 were scored by Victor. Your proposition is completely wrong the team player is Tega not Victor. Tega scored just about 20% of Chelsea 69 goals in the EPL. The question is can Victor play as part of a team in a technical based team without him being the focal point. His real test will be with Napoli because for the first time in his professional career he is not going to be the focal point of the team. How will he adapt and can he thrive. You actually evaded my question when l asked what attributes does Victor have over Tega. |

JayromWrites: In My opinion
Haaland Osimhen Martinelli Greenwood
That's off my head Martinelli, Greenwood that's not proven just your preference. Haaland has not had a full season in the Bundesliga again rated below the EPL so on this regard inconclusive. I remember Batshuayi struggling for game time in Chelsea goes to the Bundesliga and scores 7 in 10 games. Osimhen the world class striker and darling of many on this thread. Again playing in much lower league than the EPL French league one is not on the same level as the EPL. Scoring 13 goals in the French league is not the same as scoring 15 in the EPL. Their age difference in not even one year, so they are more or less age mates. In this regard what attributes does Osimhen have that even if you were to make comparison that Tega has not exceeded. So in this regard a big NO. |

But then holding on to the term striker, who is better than him currently , do you think❓ I was very impressed with another dimension to Tega game yesterday, which was, blistering pace. I know that he is very technically astute so he doesn't always use pace. Buy yesterday he was pressing the Bayern backline with real pace very good hold up and link up play. Unfortunately the Chelsea defence is badly organised the defenders are not particularly bad just not organised. As a result they make silly errors. Then Barkley hugs the ball too much and does not release the ball. |
Politics › Re: The Psychology Of Anti Tinubu Hysteria by komekn(m): 10:05am On Aug 09, 2020 |
omenka: Good evening.
This piece is written in response to:
1. They unrelenting attack on the person of Bola Tinubu by PDP supporters.
2. The anti-Tinubu's opinion thread that made it to the front page earlier.
I'll be as brief as possible because there's a football match to catch.
Without a doubt, most Nigerians are already looking forward to 2023 and politicians and their strategists are already laying landmines for those they imagine would constitute the greatest stumbling block to the realization of their aspirations. To this end, PDP, even though they have yet to give the slightest hint of their flag bearer, has deployed their supporters and surrogates to initiate a relentless barrage of attacks on whom they suspect would be flying the APC's banner- Tinubu.
Nowhere is this more evident than on Nairaland.
There's a problem with this strategy and it has everything to so with human psychology.
Before the advent of the current political jousting, the Yorubas, not surprisingly, weren't as pro-Tinubu as we see them today- at least, not online. This is because they tend not to be as politically intransigent as other ethnicities in Nigeria. They couldn't care less about the intermittent jabs the man suffers, mostly from Yorubas themselves! Today, the story is totally different, no thanks to the endless attacks on his person by not only PDP supporters, but people they (Yorubas) consider OUTSIDERS.
What we are witnessing is a herd resistance to what the Yorubas consider an attack, not only on Tinubu, but on Yoruba interests. As long as the attacks aren't coming from WITHIN, the collective defence being put up for Tinubu should be expected, the staunchest of which, ironically, would come from folks who were once totally indifferent about Tinubu or whatsoever fate he suffers.
Look at it this way: when IPOB attacked Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany, it appeared as though most Igbos endorsed the action, with some saying Igbos are not fond of tolerating errant politicians of Igbo extraction. They applauded the perpetrators and scornfully mocked the victim. But, the moment OUTSIDERS attempted to mock and "insult" the same Ekweremadu, they were rebuffed by the same people that had mocked and insulted him!!
The counter productivity of this strategy should be obvious to PDP and her supporters by now. The more you attack and scorn Tinubu, the more Yorubas would push back, and the more the man tends to grow in popularity. I'm not sure these attacks has turned any pro-Tinubu observer to an anti-Tinubu one, but I am VERY SURE it has turned some indifferent observers into his staunch supporters.
I've no doubt in my mind we all desire a better and prosperous Nigeria, let's try and go about it the right way. Unwittingly making a hero of someone you consider a devious villain would hardly help your course. Review your strategy PDP.
God bless Nigeria. You have personified the Nigerian REGRESSIVE MENTALITY but you then by implication promote and JUSTIFY IT. Small minded TRIBALISTIC POLITICS and GODFATHERISM. |

TheSuperNerd: Tammy said No. I moved on. Don't know the shots you talking about unless you being generalistic to several Nigerians' reaction. I understand even whites got involved when he began playing poorly for Chelsea and using that to racially abuse him. Now that's very wrong and immoral.
Back to Nigerians, Nigerians would always react. If Saka perhaps eventually says no today, expect another round of reaction from Nigerians. Nigerians generally don't handle rejection very well I'm afraid. Made my very good friend, TheGoodJoe fly to FINLAND to begin the process of becoming a "FINNISH CITIZEN" one time coz he was "FINNISHED" BY Billing's rejection and his toying with us. Lol
But as for me... I don't take these things to heart at all. I just see it as their choice and move on. Afterall, it is their lives and careers. Also, our national team isn't dead b'cos of their No.
And yes, eventually Osimhen proved himself the better player. He bagged 18 goals + 6 assists in all comps despite having 10 league games to play. Tammy had a whole season and fell short by 1. He bagged 17 goals + 6assists. Also an impressive return overall but compared to a player who bagged more goals with 10 league matches to spare and couldn't play in them as the league got ended prematurely and refused to return like the others, then surely it shows one is definitely of a higher class. Finito. When we talk about top goal scorers in general we talk about league games. Why because it is level playing field to assess ability. In general cup games are not used because the quality of the opposition is not constant, with huge variations in quality. That's why a lot of cup games with low quality opposition will be given to bench warmers or players returning from injury. Indeed Manchester United just played LASK and fielded 8 teenage debutants. So when we make a comparison we use a balanced measurement. The EPL is on a different level to the French league and scoring 15 goals in the EPL is a lot harder than scoring 13 in the French league. This is a simple fact. No French Striker has left the French league and has been able to immediately replicate thier goal tally in the EPL. |

People watch Clips Bro
Even though i also feel it's not the best way of ascertaining how good a player is It depends on how the clips are made. For instance, if l want to find out about a player I'll go to the club video analyst. And say give 10 minutes 10 minute clips of Nnamdi Brown. I can then have a good idea about the player, what he die with the ball and what he does when he doesn't have the ball. Finally, knowing how things work in Nigeria and Oliseh penchant for players deals through his preferred agent. That's not a good example to justify clips in professional football management. But clips that people talk about predominantly here it seems are the clips based on a collection of games compressed into a clip or clips. |
