Meanwhile it is Fulham Vs Brentford. Game is going to be tough and the prize is EPL football. If Fulham win then Tega will be very shortly in the SE. |
Manchester United are playing Astana with the youngest team in Manchester United history. 7 teenagers some are debutants Nigerian origin player Gomez is playing and Lingard has scored. |
Edopesin:Agreed without reservation |
Philosopher1979:I will say it again, where Onyekuru is concerned you have no right to play, you EARN THE RIGHT TO PLAY. Unfortunately Onyekuru has to do more and or has not done enough. Francophone African countries have direct access to the French league and other European countries league directly from local leagues. So your proposition that European coaches are wicked with African players is simply not true. In reality the French have been very generous, l do not know for sure but it seems there are more African origin players in the French league than white. Think about it. Privilege I would not say that player born in Europe have undue privilege. There are laws and we have to work within the law. If Europe has invested in infrastructure and many African governments have decides to steal public funds and rape the public purse. Is that the fault of Europe. As a result investment in football is meagre. We have more EPL fans in Nigeria following every game, they know all the players in a team even some in the youth team. Ask these same people to name just 5 players in a local team they may not know. Some people do know the names of our local teams in the NPFL. Not too long ago AFC Wimbledon and Newport County both beat EPL teams. Does that make them better. No it does not. So if we beat Argentina once do we really believe we are better. It's not so simplistic. Finally, you do not know the challenges African origin players have to overcome to get to where they are. All the people making decisions are white and most have perceptive and subjective based preference for blue eyed kids. |
Subzero047:It's absolutely impossible to know them all. Don't forget each EPL club will have at a very least 100 scouts at differing levels. So knowing a few in each club is not particularly important and or impressive. And it's one thing to know them, but are you just an associate or are you in partnership. In addition scouts get grade, the HO recruitment is far more influential than just a mere scout in theory and general practice. Bur then there are individuals who are close to the manager and have much more influence than the scouts. For instance when the sons of Sam Allardyce and Alex Ferguson sons were agents. It was very obvious who you needed to contact to get into the club. Some managers completely side line thier recruitment heads so it's not so simplistic. But one thing is intrinsically clear nobody is looking at YouTube videos to do player recruitment. |
Subzero047:Maybe in Nigeria. But not any professional scout l know and know more than a hundred in the UK. I could add more but then it would be considered posturing by some here and me pretending. |
sheyishemba:Well I can answer it for you he is not spectacular. I watched him several times in training and seen him in a few games. And he is level headed young man as well, he will have a good career but he is not going to be world class, IMO. |
Subzero047:Wow you really do not have an idea of how things work in Europe. I know Roma and Ajax are monitoring players in EPL clubs who are not even 12 yet. One of them has already got sports deal sponsorship. By the way they are Nigerian origin. There is huge network of scouts that go to games across Europe. There are too many to mention youth tournament organised by the elite teams of Europe, from U8 to 19. Years ago Malcom Elias head of recruitment at Fulham. He was at Liverpool, then Southampton. He is very experienced over thirty plus years in the game. Where did l meet him at a game with the Nigerian U18 all stars that Fashanu had brought over from Abuja to play Manchester United and City. U 18 teams. Why was he there because l invited him. But to do that they had to play my team first, unfortunately the players were good but not organised and Fashanu is not a great coach. They lost 8-1. Langley from United was there too, he has left United now. These guys are the heads of recruitment and they still attend games looking for the next Mbappe. They don't sit in office watching YouTube. The environment is somewhat subterfuge with each team spying out each others prospects future and present. |
BascoVanVeli:I will not prove to you. You can take it or leave it. |
charlesemeka85:Considering the bold and the very limited funds that is club that cannot compete in the upper half of the Championship. Look at Stokes team sheet and value and they struggled in the Championship. Now many just don't appreciate that better footballers follow the better money. |
Subzero047:You may think I am being conceited and or telling lies. But l probably know or have engaged with the recruitment teams of at least 70% of all the EPL clubs. And that's my perspective European football. And I can assure you nobody uses YouTube videos to make player recruitment. Clubs will start right from age grade competitive football then academy football to create a profile of a player. So before the player signs professional everyone know who he is. For instance all the outstanding 12 year old players are already known to clubs. Thry monitor them from year to year to see thier progression. I know of clubs who have bought players at 11 years old. From other clubs. I know of clubs that have brought players from North America to the UK EPL clubs at age 13. Presenting a player profile will never have s YouTube clip as a basis. All academy games in category 1 academies have games video recorded right from age 9 sometimes younger. Finally, l never give clubs video footage of a collection of games all compressed into 7 minutes of footage more or less. It's always singular individual games compressed into 6/7 minutes more or less in individual video clips. So what is presented is a number of individual games clips that gives a more rounded view and is very difficult to contrive. |
Subzero047:In all honesty it depends on who his agents knows. Football is environment where conflict of interest does not get into the agenda. I have known many players signed to clubs because the Manager shares the same agent as the player. |
Subzero047:Have my doubts about that. |
BascoVanVeli:The decision is not singular, the report given to Klopp by the loan players assessment is what will direct his decision. I can assure you he is not considered a serious prospect for Liverpool to be diplomatic. |
Subzero047:Clubs do not look at YouTube clips as a basis for player selection, well at least the professional clubs l know. |
TheGoodJoe:Mourinho is a very apt tactical manager great at strategy and team cohesion, etc However, he is ZERO on player development and is unable to improve players and increase thier capacity. In this regard Brendan Rogers leaves Mourinho in the dark, when it comes to player development. |
andrewbaba44:When people say things like this I get confused , because if you call these guys carpenters. What then will you call our entire range of CB's. Omeruo, Balogun and Awaziem❓ Apprentice carpenter's ❓ ❓ And when I call them below average very basic l am called a HATER of Nigerian homegrown players as some call them. |
bidexiii:Sarcasm. |
Edopesin:We are talking about Everton and for Everton that is a huge transfer fee and they expect a better return. And you can't expect them to be looking at Lingard and then become satisfied. Lingard is also a Manchester United academy product that cost nothing. Iwobi has a lot to prove in his club career there is no other way too look at it. |
Subzero047:Is is not, it's very common practice players exchange, perfomance related increments, etc. The only thing that's unusual but not surprising is HERE people are adding it all together futuristic and otherwise as well as Inter related costings to say he is the most expensive transfer in Africa. In general when transfers are made we talk about the transfer fee alone in isolation not the additions. So in the table we have one set of measurements unique to Victor but then use the standard stand alone transfer fee for everyone else. It's very understandable practice here. For me the transfer fee is irrelevant but more reasonable taken alone. And that means the expectations will not be OVER THE TOP for such a young player with a lot to learn. Because if he doesn't hit the ground running and or he doesn't perform to the expectations of a top striker. Very quickly the narrative will change here like camelions. In my opinion if he can score 15/16 goals in Seria A this season he would have done very well. However, I fear the expectations for him here are over the top ( top goal scorer in Seria A) as well as with Napoli, but not as much, Napoli will be very satisfied with 20+ I think. I hope he does well and builds his career even more than all expectations. |
All is not lost for Chelsea. They still have the chance to beat Bayern Munich and win the Cup. |
andrewbaba44:You got that absolutely correct. Aubmeyang is world class. |
Chei !!! Arsenal messing up again. 1-0 down. |
andrewbaba44:Like to see Arsenal win, but it's too evenly matched to make any predictions. I could end in penalties and a lot of crying for one team that doesn't make it through. |
ocelot2006:These kind of incidents open up a whole can of worms. Look at the chaos and total disorder with no sense of professionalism and structure to what they were doing. What was the threat, from what l could hear maybe not more than 6/7 misguided elements shooting their AK47's. And look at the terror based fearful response and complete loss of control and zero situational awareness as well as OFFENSIVE response. Holding that thought, imagine just 3/4 Boko rickety gun trucks had engaged the convoy. Can you imagine the utter carnage they would have rained on the Governor and his entourage. The chaos would have been off the scale combatants would probably run leaving the Governor to be captured. Now we an insight into NA response to what should be routine ambushes and or enemy skirmishes. It doesn't look good AT ALL. |
sheyishemba:He would have been better going on loan. Then making a a name for himself. His value will go up and also first team opportunity will become a reality in Arsenal. He may go to Brentford but there is no guarantee of first team football. |
Reading Sky sports transfer portal and the information they are giving about Victor Osimhen transfer fee, is completely different from what l am reading here. I did say cannot understand why we have so much conflicting information about this one transfer. Strange a lot of drama before and a lot of drama afterwards agents dispute and the actual transfer fee. Well with time these things always come out eventually.

I have heard of this Folarin and he has been good at youth level. But can he make the step up to the senior game. He is being impatient, my advice he should go on loan to another club Championship and or lower positioned EPL club. If he or performs then his position will be completely different. And £8 million for a player who has done nothing seems high and over the top. A certain Chuba Akpom comes to mind great at youth level but largely impotent at senior level after several loans.

Righteousness89:The church building is not God and over blown self seeking pastors and self appointed pastor are not God. Where two or more are gathered in his name, he is there. Let every man --- but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Phil.2:12 |
andrewbaba44:I don't think anyone is yabbing Nwakali but it's the sensationalism and ludicrous over hype for a player that has done nothing in 5 years. Anchoring projected excellence on historical youth football exploits. These same people will then say others are being biased when players who have done way more are talked about on this forum. It's simple double standard and hypocrisy. |
TheSuperNerd:I have not been proven wrong ONCE especially not by you and you over sensationalism and over hype of players. And you creation of inconsequential divides between Nigerian origin players in Europe and your definition of Nigerian home grown players. Maybe in your perception birthed from your own notions. Not once have you proven me wrong. You are the con always taking things out of context and then pushing a false narrative. With regards to Victor my comments are always in CONTEXT of THAT TIME and in response to an issue, contention or information raised prior to my post. |
Subzero047:You can manipulate statistics and attempt to present a narrative that maybe acceptable here even believable. However, move it to another forum and what we claim here as commendable is comdemnable by other fans. At SE level Iwobi has been very good not neccesarily excellent but very good. At club level he has not had the expected impact and to Everton fans he has been underwhelming. |
