Xbee007: I have never been an advocate of NA getting its own aviation corp cos I never believe they can sustain it. It is just unrealistic. They are stretched too thin already. NA is practically doing the job of police, custom, navy and now they want to start doing NAF job too.
And all these from that paltry budget.
Rather they should spend the money on MRAP, APCs and better gears for soldiers. Most of the devastating ambush on soldiers could have been lessen if they were in armored vehicles or have better situational awareness. 100% correct l said this about 6 years ago. As usual some people consider it to be unpatriotic to say the truth. However, at the core of the issues is the in depth ignorance if our over sight functionaries in the National assembly and Executive arms of government. They simply don't have the capacity to ensure compliance. Look at the over sight committee and the composition. Then ask how many have left the serenity of Abuja to go to the northern East to ascertain facts on the ground. |

GabrielYulaw: Not a sole launcher. Multiple launchers, like around 10 per base. Our biggest issue is the gun trucks the enemy uses .These are equipped with AA guns that do a lot of damage. Currently, the NA engages these gun trucks with gun trucks of their own and RPGs. This does not assure a hit. Even old ATGMs can engage a gun truck at ranges the guns in these gun trucks cannot hit anything. And I do not advocate static bases. They must be gradually pushed forward till we hit the border. We can then secure the border by mining it so heavily that an ant cannot have sex without setting off a mine. We also need 24/7 surveillance of the borders, and this can be done by aircraft our by launching our own surveillance satellite. There are so many things we need, but there is no doubt that this war is fully winnable. But only if the right strategies and weapons are brought to bear. Our tactics are wrong considering your comments in the bold. The first thing l notice about our forward bases is that they just don't seem to have elevation. First problem. We dig trenches not the best option very outdated, what does it take to build sand filled or clay higher elevation walls around the base. Any combatants will tell you the advantage of elevation in a fire fight. The Boko haram technicals have rudimentary stabilisation, will not be accurate over 400 metres with the huge recoil. But will create enough terror if you are not in a fortified position. Technical are not a great threat to a properly fortified base. One round in the engine bay from a 50 Cal. Sniper rifle easily done at 1000 metres and the technical is immobile. An incendiary round neutralises anybody in the cab and end of story. Actually I have targeted with a 50 Cal. HMG stabilised over a 1000 km single shot, obviously with optics sights. It's possible to use our Russian sourced HMG as well but optic sights essential very difficult if not impossible if it's not stabilised and using steel sights. Basic investment in base fortifications we just don't do why ❓ It costs next to nothing we are busy digging trenches like WW2. That's why our bases are getting over run.

That aside, Collins did not do badly like you are painting it. He played one of his best games in our colors. Please go and rewatch that game Tell me where I change mouth. I only agreed with you that in terms of the collective segments of midfield, Attack and defence that the defence shaded it. My view before the match I felt Collins was going to be the weakest link and after the match that was confirmed. Left for dead abused & used by Gabriel. Collins is not the up to the level required for the SE. |

Icon4s: Oga you are entitled to your opinion. Nobody has said that Nigeria was the better side. All what we are saying is that the boys did a very good job.
And for that defense I believe they were the most impressive of the 3 sections of the team. We were never going to be better than Brazil in any way shape or form. Nonetheless, considering our players and thier level they did EXCEPTIONALLY well under the circumstances. And in the scheme of things Awaziem played an intelligent game, Ekong and Ajayi did good however, Collins was chopped up like Suya by the Brazilians and the very weak link in the defence. And in terms of defence midfield and our attack, as a collective the defence edged it, YES. |

Imagine ebuehi technicality and pace together with chukwueze mesmerizing skills will cause lot of problem for our opponents. Nb: I know you won't agree with my proposition anyway. Ebuehi is a modern RB or RWB who has pace but can still defend. Just the same way Aina is a true quality RB and or RWB. Any of these two players can interchange and over lap with offensive options not just defend. In addition both of them have pace who is faster don't know just know they are all fast. Very unlike Awaziem. |

Eartquake1: Yes I agree with you, Bundesliga cannot be compared to the EPL
How you know an overhyped player is you ask yourself, what are the player's strongpoints if you can't see DISTINCT strongpoints then that player is definitely overrated especially if he's playing in a lower league
Same happened when they were hyping Lingard and comparing him to Ronaldo, I watched Lingard and he was neither a speedster or a strong shooter or a creator I concluded that that guy is definitely overrated, same with Sancho He has made records in the Bundesliga he is the most outstanding winger in the Bundesliga. He has also broken historical records in the Bundesliga, statistics do not lie. Add to the equation his very young age 19 Is that what you will call hype, nobody has compared him to Ronaldo. |

If he does it, things would be easier for him I said the same thing essentially but was labelled a hater and rubbishing him as a player. To improve you must look at your failings not paint over them. He needs to pick out his team mates and time his runs to effect the game more and add end product. All the dribbling in the world without end product amounts to nothing. |

Eartquake1: UNPOPULAR OPINION
Jadon Sancho is overrated and will be found out in the English league Essentially you are saying that the Bundesliga is a mediocre league that lacks quality. Otherwise how would you show indifference to his very outstanding statistics. last season 12 goals from 34 games and this season 3 goals from 7 matches. We have not even talked about his assists. Considering he is still just only 19 years of age he is the youngest player to score 15 goals in the history of the Bundesliga. Will he be able to replicate his goal tally in the EPL, l simply don't know. Yes the Bundesliga is not as Physically intense and fast at the EPL he may adapt and suprise us all. |

The only player I have watched who has a bit of Samu's attribute BUKAYO SAKA. But... if there are better left footed wingers, they should get a look in That's not my view. Chukwueze does a lot of dribbling and skill but the end product is very suspect. It looks good and dangerous but in terms of being effective and impact. I think he needs to be more intelligent and know when to pick a pass and find his team mates more. Dennis has not been tested to really know what he can do. Seyi Ojo may seem boring and lacking in the flair and flamboyance we in the SE are use too. But his stats say he is effective. |

I wonder how someone with so much knowledge of English could be bereft of good and unbiased football analysis Once again you have joined the sentiment based negative presumption. I'll say it again tactically Onuachu had a good game under the circumstances. He came on 74th minute to be an outlet with the long ball with hold up play, Aerial dominance and consequently reduce the pressure on the midfield that was close to getting over run. He did all that IMO. In the 20 minutes he played he had two attempts at goal a header and a shot albeit both off target. For those of you who follow the sports media particularly the African based ones see the screen shot below and thier comments on Onuachu. It seems my opinion is shared by Nigerian sports media. Finally the weakest link was Collins which I had already predicted and the MOTM was Aribo, in my opinion. Is it bad belle or youthful misplaced exuberance that does not allow you to have an objective measured view or maybe your so fanatical you loose rational.

Onuachu had a decent game to me, he has been slated left, right and center.
From my perspective it seems he came on to bring stability and create an outlet. The midfield later in the game was getting over run.
Onuachu became the outlet long balls sent to him, taking pressure off the midfield and allowing him to hold up play. l didn't see him going forward but sitting deep mostly to be an outlet.
In that restrictive role l thought he did satisfactory. |

cc12: Very limited indeed, how many centre backs have you seen play as makeshift right backs since Sergio Ramos played RB for Real Madrid and the Spanish national team ? It's not easy for a natural centre back to easily overlap. Awaziem is a centre back and not a right back, so don't expect him to be pacy and make overlapping runs That's the point. Awaziem is very intelligent and uses that yo cover his handicaps that's why he offers little or nothing coming forward. He is a makeshift RB or RWB he is not suited for the position. We are country of a 100 million can we not get a proper RB for goodness sake. |

somehow: It is a strong side going by name but by recent performance, they are not it. It showed in their performance during COPA, they couldn't beat some small names hands down. The final match was the only outstanding game all through COPA. (The stats are there).
More reason they have been playing friendlies for a while now just to work on their morale and performance but it's still not working.
Speaking of Nigeria, we're in ascension compared to Brazil bro!
Brazil had 68% possession against our 32% Had 20 goal-scoring chances against our 10 but was found wanting converting all these chances to goals.
Yes, off-target but they created them! this is why I am saying they are very low on morale. They had no problem creating goal-scoring chances but just couldn't do anything with them. Some were due to bad luck. They would have won with like 4:1 scoreline today if not for the woodwork, on the line clearance and last-ditch blocks from our defenders. (You can go on youtube to catch the detail highlights sir).
I am not disputing the fact that we did well, I am just saying they are not really a strong side like some believe except for the names! Spain, Netherland or Belgium will surely destroy this Brazilian squad! Even Germany!
In fact, Croatia will finish them or even Russia with their current form. Agreed without reservation there is need for a reality check before many get super delusional. |
