TruthU87:
The Israeli military has confirmed the death of Colonel Ahsan Daksa, a senior commander of the 401st Brigade, in northern Gaza during intense operations targeting Hamas militants. The incident occurred on Sunday, in the Jabalia area, where Israeli forces have been engaged in a broad assault aimed at weakening Hamas’s foothold in the region.

According to Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, Colonel Daksa, aged 41, was killed when an explosive device struck him after he stepped outside his tank to assess the area. Two other officers, including a battalion commander, were also injured but sustained only minor injuries in the blast.

Hagari detailed the moment, stating, “They stepped outside to observe the area and were struck by an explosive.”

Daksa, a prominent member of the Druze community, was appointed commander of the 401st Brigade just four months ago. He was leading a critical offensive in Jabalia, a strategic zone for Israeli forces during their campaign in northern Gaza.

The Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, praised Daksa’s bravery, saying he was killed “while fighting Hamas terrorists.” Daksa’s death has been described as one of the most significant losses for the Israeli military since the beginning of the Gaza war.

A colonel is just one rank below a Brigadier General. This makes this scum called Ahsan Daksa the sixth Israeli top-ranking colonel to bite the dust in Gaza. His other colonels that have been killed by Hamas include:

- Colonel Leon Bar
- Colonel Assaf Hamami
- Colonel Yitzhak Ben Bash
- Colonel Jonathan Steinberg
- Colonel Roi Yosef Levi

You see, when it comes to killing women, babies, and destroying hospitals, these Israelis colonels are experts. But when it comes to fighting against a small force armed with rockets made out of toilet pipe, sugar, and fertilizer, they begin running in circles and cannot deliver results.

I have no rest in peace to type for genocidists and baby killers like this scum. I learned he was killed with a bomb Isreal dropped on Gaza but did not explode. Hamas then repurposed the bomb and used it to target his vehicle. Karma came too fast. Israel killed him.

Whatever is left of his corpse should be packed inside a poly bag and used for whatever purpose it may be useful for. Victory to the resistance. Palestine will be free 🍉🍉🍉⭐
CelebritiesRe: "Bobrisky enjoyed Certain Privileges, but served jailterm in prison - FG Panel by Konquest: 1:34am On Oct 22, 2024
fergie001:
SOURCE

An investigative panel set up by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has stated that a popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, completed his jail term.

PUNCH Online reports that Bobriksy was sentenced to six months imprisonment on April 12 for abusing the naira and released from prison in August.

Controversial social critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, had shared a voice note allegedly belonging to Bobrisky that she paid N15m to some Economic and Financial Crimes Commission officials to drop the money laundering charge against him.

In the audio, Bobrisky also claimed that a “godfather,” alongside staff members of the Nigerian Correctional Service, ensured he served the six-month sentence in a private apartment and not in prison.

On September 30, the minister constituted an investigative panel chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalena Ajani, and ordered a probe into the alleged corruption and other violations against the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Reading the phase one report of the panel on Monday, a member of the panel and the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, Uju Agomoh, said the panel found no evidence that Bobrisky slept outside the prison walls after she was sentenced.

He said, “The panel did not find any evidence thus far that suggested that Mr Okuneye slept outside the custodial centre during the period of his imprisonment, which was from 12th April 2024 to 5th August 2024, which is a six-month correctional sentence with the usual remission applicable”.

Agomoh said during this period, Bobrisky was transferred from the Kuje Custodial Centre to the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kirikiri-Apapa, Lagos, and then to the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, from where she was discharged after the completion of her sentence.

He stated that Bobriksy enjoyed several privileges while in both Custodial Centres, which include furnished single cells, humidifier, and lots of visits by his family members and friends.

The panel, however, said the cross-dresser’s transfer to a maximum security facility as a first offender violated Section 164A and Section 164B of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act of 2019.

He added, “The panel also found that Mr. Okuneye Idris enjoyed several privileges while in custody, both at the Medium Security and the Maximum Security Custodial Centres, which include, especially the following: furnished single cells, humidifier, lots of visits by his family members and friends as he desired, self-feeding, designated inmates to run errands for him, access to fridge and television, and possibly access to his phone.

“It is necessary to further investigate if the above privileges provided for Okuneye Idris were financially motivated and based on corrupt practices by correctional officers.

“The panel believes that the peculiar case of the inmates and the inmates’ physical look and behaviour pose a threat, and the lack of laid-down rules for the treatment of such a case may have necessitated such privileges to be granted to Okunenye Idris.

“The panel recommends that clear guidelines need to be set up to guide operations regarding such incidents in future. Steps should be taken to avoid the obvious discriminatory practices in relation to the socio-economic levels and other status of inmates.”
There's NO way Bobrisky would have been allowed into a standard male wing OR female wing of the prison or correctional center because of his unique gender situation. Since he still has his male private part intact and with a feminine, oestrogen-fueled body, he could probably get Hot and "knack" some women in prison or the male prisoners could beat up and molest Bobrisky because of his femine looks and boobs.

Therefore putting him in a special facility to serve the 6 months jail term was the best in order to prevent unintended consequences. Period.
FamilyRe: Will My Life Get Better When I Got Married? by Konquest:

grin find a good girl to date first, then open ya ears to listen to her words of advice. No marry tiktok branded eeeediot ooo. Follow these steps
1. Get a job; it doesn't have to be a big job just something to get you some money at hand and keep yoir mind busy.
2. Change your wardrobe with some decent wear not expensive but clean and good fit. Some few shirts and trouser well ironed and neat will do.
3. Rent a room if you dont have one. Ask for family support just get a roof over your head, depending on the town you live get something decent not expensive, keep it clean.

4. Join a society and become active, it could be a church or mosque just be active and get involved with people and activities. And be friendly dont look down on your self

5. Start your search for a good girl there are many of them. Dont go to facebook group , tiktok, dating app or any thing social media. Just check thru your work place or a primary or secondary school close to your work place or close to your house, or your church or mosque you will see some young female teachers, no look yansh or breast look character there are no glory or destiny in big yansh or breast.

6. Look for girls in your religious group. You will see them those calm, focus girl them dey there, visit other religious organised programs you will still see them. The truth is that there are girls out there praying to meet a man like you.

7. When you meet the girl dont form dont lie, be real with her if she wan stay your sincerity will keep her.
8. If she agrees to date you the open your ear and listen to her advice then keep away from other girls and useless guys i bet you if you do well to love that girl yoir life will change.
I have a contrarian view to some of your points here. The religious organizations are NOT foolproof ways to meet any decent young woman. A lot of them pretend because of the religious environment.

BETTER to go the extra mile by studying any woman's random and spontaneous behaviors within an informal setting or social setting. How does she treat children? Is it with aggression? What's her opinion about her father and men generally and how does she treat them? Those would give you a true picture of her intelligence and character.

PoliticsRe: FG Approves Exxonmobil’s $1.28 Billion Asset Sale To Seplat After Two-Year Delay by Konquest: 12:27am On Oct 22, 2024
Great100000:
The federal government has approved the sale of ExxonMobil’s onshore assets to Seplat Energy, more than two years after the $1.28 billion deal was initially agreed.

The CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Gbenga Komolafe, confirmed this to Reuters on Monday in Abuja.

The sale, first announced in February 2022, had been delayed pending regulatory approval.

However, President Bola Tinubu on October 1 assured that the transaction would receive ministerial approval within days, following clearance from the regulator.

“Fellow compatriots, our administration is committed to free enterprise, free entry, and free exit in investments while maintaining the sanctity and efficacy of our regulatory processes.

“This principle guides the divestment transactions in our upstream petroleum sector, where we are committed to changing the fortune positively.

“As such, the ExxonMobil Seplat divestment will receive ministerial approval in a matter of days, having been concluded by the regulator, NUPRC, in line with the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA. This was done in the same manner as other qualified divestments approved in the sector,” Tinubu said.

Backstory

On February 25, 2022, Seplat Energy Plc announced its plan to acquire all shares of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited from ExxonMobil Corporation, Delaware, for $1.28 billion.

The deal involved taking over ExxonMobil Nigeria’s offshore shallow water operations. However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) exercised its Right of First Refusal (RFR) regarding the sale of these assets.

This RFR, outlined in the Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) of the Joint Venture (JV), reflected NNPC’s position on Seplat Energy Plc’s planned acquisition.

In May 2022, the federal government declined to approve the transaction, citing overriding national interest among other reasons.

Additionally, on July 6, 2022, a judge in Abuja issued an interim injunction preventing ExxonMobil from completing any divestment of a subsidiary holding four licenses in Nigeria.

However, by July 2024, NNPC withdrew the lawsuit and granted approval for the sale to proceed in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

What You Should Know

ExxonMobil is not the only international oil company (IOC) adopting an offshore-focused divestment strategy to exit Nigeria’s onshore oil and gas sector.

In January 2024, Shell Plc reached an agreement to sell its onshore oil assets in Nigeria to a local consortium for over $1.3 billion, pending government approval.

Beyond the initial amount, Shell expects additional payments of up to $1.1 billion. The consortium, named Renaissance, includes ND Western, Aradel Energy, First E&P, Waltersmith, and Petrolin.

Similarly, TotalEnergies announced plans to sell its minority stake in a major Nigerian onshore oil joint venture, following Shell’s divestment decision.

A helicopter crash has killed four passengers, including a child, in the southern 🇺🇸 US city of Houston, authorities said, with the accident also destroying a radio transmission tower.

The private aircraft “either struck a cable or actually struck at the tower”, Houston police chief Noe Diaz told reporters.

No one on the ground was injured in the crash on Oct 20, he added, and investigations to determine the cause of the accident were ongoing.

Television footage showed burning debris on the ground after the crash, and other videos – apparently from CCTV cameras – appeared to show the helicopter approaching the tower and then bursting into flame.

John Whitmire, the city’s mayor, said the crash took place near a residential area and close to a highly flammable tank of butane.

“We are fortunate that it wasn’t worse,” he said.

Whitmire said firefighters had responded to the sound of a loud explosion, with a “fireball” visible in the air.

The helicopter had taken off from an airfield less than 18 miles (30 kilometres) from the crash site, according to authorities.

Houston, located in the state of Texas, is the fourth-largest city in the United States, with a population of 2.3 million.
Another copter crash... now in TX. My condolences go to the families of those onboard.

This includes about 200 deportations to Brazil and 46 people flown to Vietnam and Timor Leste. Regular flights continue to repatriate individuals to Albania, Lithuania, and Romania as well.

The United Kingdom (UK) government has deported 44 Nigerians and Ghanaians on a single flight, marking the largest deportation of individuals, the Home Office confirmed on Friday.

The deportations come amid a broader push by the UK government to intensify immigration returns, with 3,600 people sent back to various nations since the Labour government came to power in July.

This includes about 200 deportations to Brazil and 46 people flown to Vietnam and Timor Leste. Regular flights continue to repatriate individuals to Albania, Lithuania, and Romania as well.

Deportation flights to Nigeria and Ghana are less common, with only four recorded since 2020, all carrying far fewer passengers.

The latest flight had more than double the number of deportees compared to previous ones.

The increased enforcement efforts coincide with reports that asylum seekers arriving in Diego Garcia, before the UK finalizes the return of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, may be sent to Saint Helena, one of the most isolated British territories in the Atlantic Ocean.

Among the deportees was a Nigerian man who, while being held at Brook House immigration removal center near Gatwick, attempted suicide before being deported.

His cellmate, who witnessed the incident, described being "very traumatized" by what he had seen.

Another individual shared: "I have been an asylum seeker in the UK for 15 years with no criminal record, yet the Home Office has denied my claim."

Fizza Qureshi, CEO of the Migrants’ Rights Network, who was in contact with several people on the Nigeria/Ghana deportation flight prior to their departure, expressed deep concern: "We are appalled by the cruelty of these deportations, particularly the speed, secrecy, and lack of access to legal assistance. One detainee told us before being placed on the flight, 'The Home Office is playing politics with people's lives. We have done nothing wrong but seek help.'"

A Home Office spokesperson responded: "We have already launched a significant increase in immigration enforcement and returns to ensure compliance with the law, with over 3,600 removals carried out in the first two months of the new government."

The Oluwo of Iwo loves good things as can be seen in the video, but he has to tone down this vile rhetorics of talking down on other people's beliefs. Afterall, those imported religions from the Middle East are based off of astrotheology worship OR the worship of the Sun God and Moon deities which were prevalent in the ancient world and empires. They even copied doctrinal several errors from one another and have the audacity to now call their books "holy." CultureRe: Ooni Of Ife: Oluwo Chased Me Out When I Visited Him by Konquest: 6:55pm On Oct 21, 2024
dre11:
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi has revealed that he was chased out when he visited the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, in his palace.

The monarch made this known in a trending video on TikTok on Sunday.

Speaking, the Ooni of Ife said, “When I visited Oluwo, he chased me out like a child, since that incident, I have always maintained myself going close to him. Now that you people (attendees) are imploring that I visit him again, what if he does what he likes to me?

“But I have to contain his excesses as an elder, although I am a young person sitting on the throne of the elders. Oluwo, I greet you.”

Although Ogunwunsi did not speak on any feud between him and Oluwo of Iwo in the viral video as both are respected monarchs in Osun State, findings revealed that Oluwo has not been pleased with Ooni’s relationship and activities with the traditionalists who he described as ‘idols worshippers’.

In another video, Akanbi popularly called Telu 1 was seen telling the people of Iwo to detest traditional practices warning that anybody indulging in it should do so in their respective homes.

“My work as a monarch is to stand for God and preach about him alone while challenging those worshipping things other than Him. I don’t do Ogun or any idol festival. Although, I have previously celebrated the Egungun festival with the worshippers but I will never do that again. Except that they don’t call it idol worshipping. I don’t support their activities, that’s why their dealings don’t thrive here.

“And you cannot even perform sacrifices in Iwo here. Anyone who does that will eat it. Better still, litter your house with the sacrifices. Environmental sanitation has been exercised here to curb things like that. What anyone would need to be successful is to challenge the idols and their worshippers. That alone would make you a soldier of God,” he added.

Continuing, Oluwo in his Facebook post on Monday clarified that Iwo used to be ruled by a traditional monarch but has ceased being that since the emergence of Oba Memudu Ayinla Lamuye in 1800 spread Islam in the town as the monarch converted the whole Iwo people to Islam.

He wrote, ”Oba Ibirinade Abioye Adekanbi (Alawusa) brought Islam in 1600. He evacuated idols and converted a place of worshipping deities to the Oluwo Central Mosque. Precisely, he birthed the first Mosque in South Western Nigeria in 1600. Later in the late 1800, another Oluwo, Oba Memudu Ayinla Lamuye (pictured above) spread Islam and converted the whole Iwo people to Islam and that’s why in Iwo, every compound has a Mosque and there is no Iwo indigene that does not have a Muslim name including recent convertees when the missionaries came.

“Oba Ibirinade Adekanbi was also called Alawusa because he was hospitable. He accommodated Malians who people tagged Hausa then they came to settle in Iwo. Oluwo was turbaned. New Oluwo used to be enthroned with a beaded crown before 1600. After 1600, turbanning used to come first before wearing the beaded crown. Oba Muhammad Ayinla Lamuye spent 90 years on the throne. Exactly 100 years after, the reigning Oluwo, was enthroned to complete the good work of the past monarchs.”

Recall that Akanbi in 2018 alleged that Ogunwusi ordered his bodyguard to push him out of the way during a meeting of traditional rulers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

According to Akanbi, the incident happened at Hotel Presidential in the oil-rich city.

He said it happened just as the Ooni was called to the podium to give a vote of thanks.

“The bodyguard of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in what seemed to be an errand message, pushed Oluwo at the public gathering of the first-class paramount rulers held at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State last Tuesday,” Akanbi said in a statement.

“Dignitaries at the event were taken aback by what they considered as a desecration of the crown as the bodyguard of the Ooni pushed a first-class paramount ruler, Oluwo.

But the Ooni denied the allegation in a statement that the director of public affairs at his palace, Moses Olafare, issued on his behalf.

Ogunwunsi described the claims of the Oluwo as untrue, saying, “There was no altercation between Oluwo and anybody at that venue at all.”

The Lagos-Abidjan highway project is a critical infrastructure initiative set to enhance regional economic integration by connecting five West African countries—Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, and Nigeria—through a 1,068-kilometer highway that will traverse eight border towns, starting at Eric Moore in Lagos and ending in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The project, one of the largest infrastructure designs in West Africa, is estimated to cost about $15 billion when it is completed.
It is expected to carry over 500,000 passengers daily and significantly boost trade, tourism, and economic activities within the region.

The Lagos-Abidjan Corridor Highway is part of the broader Dakar-Lagos Corridor, one of the flagship development programs of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and is expected to be a key driver of regional integration.

Shortly before the COVID-19 lockdowns, a popular Lagos-based pastor who appeared on TV regularly who is also from Iboland was EXPOSED for using hired people (men and women) to pretend to be healed of serious ailments and deformities in his so-called prosperity church in Lagos. Subsequently, they are paid off till another church hiring session and they allowed themselves to be hired by a well organized network of many fake pastors as well. The police were FIRST tipped off by observant Nigerians who had noticed in videos a woman with a prominent hand deformity was moving from one church to another claiming to have been healed.

The scammer pastors' story hit the major Nigerian newspapers such as Punch newspaper and videos on the scam were upload on YouTube.
PoliticsRe: Chevron Discovers New Oil Well In Nigeria by Konquest:
SmartPolician:
Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has announced the discovery of a new oil field in Nigeria.

The “new gold mine” estimated to hold 17,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), is located in the shallow offshore area of the Niger Delta.

The development is expected to boost Nigeria’s ailing oil production.

According to Chevron, the “near-field discovery” was made by the Meji NW-1 spud in Petroleum Mining Lease 49.

Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron, Jim Swartz, confirmed the discovery in a statement on Friday issued by its General Manager of Policy Government and Public Affairs, Olusoga Oduselu.

Oduselu stated that the Well was spud on September 2 and reached a total depth of 8,983ft measured depth on September 13, 2024.

He noted that the Well encountered about 690 ft of hydrocarbons within Miocene sands and appraised an extension of the Meji field.

The Chevron spokesperson said Well operations were completed, while the rig left the location on October 2.

Oduselu added that the accomplishment is consistent with CNL’s intention to continue developing and growing its Nigerian resources including onshore and shallow water areas.

“This (also) supports Chevron’s broader global exploration strategy to find new resources that extend the life of producing assets in existing operating areas and deliver production with shorter development cycle times.

“The NNPC-CNL JV will continue to collaborate with the Nigerian government and other stakeholders to support the development of the Nigerian oil and gas industry and the Nigerian economy in general”, he added.

Daily Trust reports that the discovery of the new field comes at a time when Nigeria is facing challenges in its oil sector.

The country’s oil production has been on the decline recently over sabotage, theft, ageing and ailing infrastructure.

Data from S&P Global Commodity Insights showed Chevron holds a 40 percent interest in Oil Mining License (OML) 49 alongside NNPC in a joint venture.

Further findings showed production from the Meji field peaked at 51,000 bpd in 2005, but has since fallen to some 17,000 boepd, most of it crude oil.

Discoveries were first made on the licence in 1965, with production starting four years later.

Chevron did not offer a timeline for production at Meji NW-1 or any detail on how much the asset could produce.

However, the find is a fillip for Nigeria’s economy and illustrates the contrast with Chevron’s peers.

Many of them are exiting the Niger Delta in their droves in favour of deep-water opportunities in Nigeria, less risky jurisdictions and frontiers like Namibia and Guyana.

The new field is expected to help offset some of these declines and boost Nigeria’s oil production.

It is also expected to create jobs and generate revenue for the local communities where it is located.

Eni has already quit the Nigerian onshore and shallow water, selling its business to local firm Oando.

The new Chevron Meji oilfield discovery is right in the shallow offshore Itsekiriland in Delta State, and this is contrary to the misleading post two posters made right on page 1 of this thread.

There's the prolific Okan, Meji, Meta, Meren oil fields right from the 1960s in the oil-producing axis of Itsekiriland. Okan, meji, meta, meren simply means numbers one, two, three, and four in Itsekiri and Yoruba languages being that the Itsekiris of Delta State are Yoruboid and a major subgroup of the larger Yoruba people of West Africa.

There are CNG cars and over 15,000 CNG refill stations in the United States, Canada, South America, South Africa, India, Russia, Nigeria, Australia and other countries of the world that essentially have gas reserves or import CNG from the closest producing countries. A private company is also currently deploying CNG in Ghana and Ghana is a crude oil and gas producing country but NOT with the kind of commercial reserves that Nigeria and Angola have.

There are currently brand new NNPC and NIPCO CNG stations currently dispensing CNG to satisfied hybrid CNG-PMS car and truck owners or users at the cheapest price of N230 per standard cubic feet of CNG in Lagos State, Oyo State, Edo State, Abuja, Niger State, etc, and more states will follow with more brand new NNPC CNG and NIPCO CNG stations coming up in Nigeria based off of what I've seen online.

Nigeria is currently termed a gas nation because the gas reserves far are more than the crude oil reserves. The gas reserves if used continuously will last up to 97 years and in terms of USD value, it's more that the fast depleting crude oil.

The deployment seems a bit slow because there are different components or parts that go into the CNG vehicle kit, but as it stands CNG is safer than LPG which is used for cooking and it is lighter than air so it will simply rise into the air. CNG is also the cheapest fuel at N230 per standard cubic feet when compared to gasoline or PMS which is far more expensive at above N1000 per liter.

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Explains Birthday Greetings To Gowon, Amid Uproar From Obidients by Konquest:
fergie001:
Why I Congratulated Gen. Gowon at 90

My felicitation with Nigeria’s former military Head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, on his 90th birthday anniversary, which was celebrated by a cross-section of Nigerians, has been received with mixed feelings by some Nigerians, and some have expressed their sentiments publicly, and privately to me.

I share in some of them, and I feel that as a leader in the vanguard of providing direction for our country to shift base away from all our shortcomings, including the issues that caused our avoidable cruel civil war, I needed to show to the World that the ultimate heroism is forgiving the enemy and moving forward.

Indisputably, the darkest part of our 64-year journey as a nation is the 30 months of civil war from 1967 to 1970 and God almighty whose way is not our way must have a reason why he kept the Chief Prosecutor of the war who is General Gowon alive to be 90 years today and the man who saw the end of the war, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to be there at 87 years super-heading all the moves to see a reconciled and just Nigeria.

There was also a developing new spirit why the same country, Nigeria, gave the Biafra leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a heroic national burial on 2 March 2012, when he joined his ancestors, coincidentally under my tenure as Governor of Anambra state.

The status of the burial given to Dim Ojukwu remains the boldest indication to the World that Nigeria as a country is disposed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation.

There are various ways human beings can respond to acts of evil, especially one that claimed millions of lives.

One is the tragedy of revenge, and another offers the hope of forgiveness in an attempt to forget. The latter conforms neatly with the template I adopted in greeting Gen Gowon at 90 years old.

In all my dealings with human beings, I try to be guided by my faith as a Christian in a strong message preached by Jesus Christ himself and underscored in reflections in St Paul’s letter to the Colossians 3:13: “Bear with each other and forgive one another: if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” And to Ephesians 4: 31-32 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice”

Whatever reason I will give for joining the rest of Nigerians to greet General Gowon, May never truly conform with some persons, especially direct victims of the war, but anger, hurt, and bitterness are the commonest responses to cruelty.

It fuels sectarianism, it leads to resistance and avoidable blood feuds that we are witnessing across the globe, and even in our country and it does not abate.

There is something about forgiveness, it sets the person doing it free. Forgiveness is more a process than an instinct.

It’s hate that has put our society, blessed by God to be the greatest land in the black World, down, but this hate has to stop.

I was under ten years old when the Nigeria/Biafra war started in 1967. Most of my supporters across the country joining me get a new Nigeria were born after the war, and I didn’t feel I should drag them back to the dark side of our history by being unforgiving.

I feel such an act will derail the message of a New Nigeria that we insist is POssible.

‘Must you greet him? Why didn’t you keep quiet?’ some angrily say to me, but that will still be injurious to our journey to a new Nigeria where all political vices, including but not limited to ethnic, religious, bitterness, and regional segregation, are eliminated.

Various personal experiences of victims of injustice across the globe who have chosen to put ugly things behind them visibly demonstrate the transformative power of forgiveness in healing personal and collective wounds.

Peter Obi
The speech writer ended up adding more subtle insults to the speech by referring to Gowon as the "Enemy." Such adjectives should have been screened out in the light of what is known about the sequence of events leading right up to the Nigerian Civil War which seriously indicted Emeka Ojukwu for his actions and inactions showing that the Ibo secessionist rebel leadership were NOT blameless.

It would have been a nice rebuttal meant for those Ibos who didn't like the FACT that he felicitated with the iconic General Yakubu Gowon (who was the Head of State during the exactly 30 months or 2 years and 6 months Nigerian Civil War from July 1967 to January 1970) on his 90th birthday.

Unknown to a lot of younger Ibos, Col Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu (rtd) who was the rebel or secessionist leader in 1967 continued to receive his pension as a former Nigerian Army officer (He was retired as a Colonel) because he was granted state pardon by President Shehu Shagari in the early 1980s. When Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu came back to Nigeria from exile in Cote d'Ivoire (where he and his family and close associates had surreptitiously fled to by airplane in early January 1970 from the Uli Air Strip leaving Victor Effiong to do the insl surrendering of the rebels to the galant Federal troops led by Olusegun Obasanjo who was the commander of the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army and others), he went into politics and contested under the Shehu Shagari-led National Party of Nigeria (NPN) which was the dominant political party that had a lot of Northerner Nigerians (aside from GNPP of Waziri Ibrahim and the PRP of Mallam Aminu Kano). He however lost his bid for an elective post.

Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was very bitter and came close to shedding tears in a 1983 documentary that I watched a few years back that was produced by a White British man where he condemned STRONGLY the Presidential pardon that President Shehu Shagari gave to Emeka Ojukwu and he emphasized in that 1983 documentary that 2 of his relatives from Onitsha lost their lives in the Nigerian Civil War because of Ojukwu whose WRONG actions he said led to the death of a lot of Ibos.

Last but NOT least, a lot of younger Ibos who use hate as a tool of blackmail against other Nigerians because of the Nigerian Civil War are NOT aware that Chukwuemeka Ojukwu was associating himself very well with the Awolowo family after the 1987 demise of the iconic lawyer and politician, Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN. He also referred to Chief Awolowo as "the best President Nigeria never had." It's on record though that the FIRST EVER Nigerian to refer to Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, "as the BEST President Nigerian NEVER had" was Mr Dan Agbese of the Newswatch Magazine (co-founded by Agbese, Dele Giwa, Ray Ekpu, and others) in the 1980s.

During the launch of the Chief Obafemi Awolowo Foundation in the late 1980s, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu physically attended the launch of the Foundation and when Ojukwu passed on in 2012, the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation paid a tribute to him and made reference to his physical presence at the launch of the Foundation in the late 1980s. All these were done despite the FACT that Ojukwu himself was behind the spread of FALSEHOODS about Chief Obafemi Awolowo to deflect the attention of people from his blunders during the war via mass propaganda as confirmed by some Ibo writers themselves who witnessed the Nigerian Civil War. So, what this CLEARLY shows is that the elite of the various Nigerian ethnicities largely relate with one another and their children intermarry, but it's the semi-literates and even educated illiterates on the street level that typically fuel crises online and offline with their loads of ethnic bigotry and emotional baggage. A firm knowledge and understanding of Nigerian history and the sequence of events leading right up to the Nigerian Civil War would have enabled especially younger Ibos to see CLEARLY that it's the secessionist leadership that committed monumental blunders by the secession declaration on May 30, 1967 when the other ethnic minorities such as the Ijaws, the Ogonis, the Ibibios, the Annangs, the Ekois or Ejagbams, the Ogojas, Efiks, Efuts, and Quas (the 3 ethnic groups are the indigenes of Calabar) and their political and traditional leadership from the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria had REJECTED Col. Emeka Ojukwu's secession and clearly supported General Yakubu Gowon's May 27, 1967 creation of 12 new states out of which 3 of the new states were from the Old Eastern Region. The Ijaw nationalist, Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye who is an indigene of Bonny Island in Rivers State CLEARLY stated in a 1999 Guardian interview in Port Harcourt that he and other Rivers State leaders of thought such as Ken Saro-Wiwa were the ones who visited General Yakubu Gowon in Lagos from 1966 and 1967 and "influenced" General Yakubu Gowon to create the 12 new states on May 27, 1967 as that would bring about a sense of belonging for all the ethnic minorities and reduce the Ibo domination in the Old Eastern Region. I shared a copy of that historic 1999 interview with a few close folks online before.

Hilary Njoku (who was the FIRST military commander of the secessionist rebel fighters before Alexander Madiebo took over from him) also told Ojukwu that the secession war would fail because there were NOT enough weapons and because of that, he was jailed for being a saboteur alongside Margaret Ekpo and many other Ibos and non-Ibos who were against the doomed secession move of 1967! Hilary Njoku captured all these in his autobiography. Other folks such as Ambassador Raph Uwechue also wrote books condemning the roles that Chukwuemeka Ojukwu played in fuelling the disastrous war and deaths due to his recalcitrance and youthful exuberance being a dude in his early 30s. Before May 1967, 2 commercial planes belonging to Nigeria Airways and Ghana Airways were illegally hijacked on the orders of Ojukwu and taken to Enugu. Those 2 passenger planes were later illegally converted to bombers and one of them was actually shot down by heavy anti-aircraft fire while on a bombing mission in Lagos State with the hired White mercenary pilots and some African crew who were detailed to drop bombs manually over specific targets in Lagos being killed with the shooting of the plane.

The invasion of the Old Midwest Region of Nigeria (now Edo and Delta States) in 1967 which led to the illegal declaration of a "Benin Republic" by the secessionist/rebel invaders was one of the most foolish blunders committed by the young Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu and his group, (including the looting of the Central Bank branches, manhandling of the citizens of the Midwest and the desecration of the palace of the Oba of Benin) and these triggered the waves of anger in a lot of the newly created Midwestern State ethnic groups such as the Bini-Edos, Esan-Edos, Etsakos, Ikas, Urhobos, Isokos, etc, and other groups to join the war effort to teach the secessionists a lesson
PoliticsRe: COAS T.A Lagbaja Not Dead - Army by Konquest:
iwaeda:
The Nigerian Army has debunked the rumour flying around on the purported death of General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff.

The rumour, which has since gone viral, started after a tweet from Jackson Ude, former presidential aide and social media commentator.

“CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF DIES OF CANCER The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has died. Lagbaja died in an undisclosed hospital overseas nearly 48hrs ago from a stage three Cancer, according to a senior Government official. The death of the Chief of Army staff has been kept secret because of intense lobbying by some Generals who want to take the position. Lagbaja, born on February 28, 1968, in Ilobu, Osun State, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023, as the 27th Chief of Army Staff,” Ude had posted at exactly 12:49pm.

But the Nigerian Army, which has consistently denied reports on the alleged ailment of the General, stamped Ude’s tweet with FAKE NEWS on social media.

On Saturday, Onyema Nwachukwu, Army spokesman, dismissed media reports suggesting that there is leadership vacuum following the absence of Lagbaja, saying he is on official leave, and necessary protocols had been put in place for the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, to act on his behalf during his absence.

Nwachukwu, a major general, emphasised that Lagbaja’s absence is not affecting the operations of the service.

“There have even been insinuations that there is a leadership vacuum, with officers confused about what to do. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

“To be very clear, the Nigerian Army is a highly structured establishment with well-laid-out procedures and processes for dealing with different circumstances. Before proceeding on leave, necessary protocols were put in place for the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim, to act on behalf of the COAS while he was away.

“This is not peculiar to the NA, as there have been instances where unforeseen human frailty kept service chiefs away for about three months, and their Chiefs of Policy and Plans held sway in their absence. Claims of a leadership vacuum in the NA at present are therefore mere speculation, as all routine and scheduled activities of the service are on course.”

The army spokesman said all routine and scheduled activities of the service are on course, adding that the appropriate departmental chiefs are fully carrying out their responsibilities in line with the COAS directives.

That creep called Jackson Ude is well-known for spreading FAKE news. Even Dr. Jeffrey Guterman, (the Jewish-American supporter of the last Labor Party presidential candidate in Nigeria, called this Ude guy out on Twitter (now X) in late 2023 for being a fraud and FAKE news fabricator. The screenshots from X are attached right BELOW. Some journalists have also written about how a lot of his information from his alleged insider sources NEVER materialized. Something has to be done legally to bring that guy to justice for his dishonest lies, defamation, attempts to extort prominent people, and more.

Jackson Ude is a complete FRAUD who just sits in one corner and fabricates FAKE news from his warped mind to push out to some of his gullible online followers. Period.

TravelRe: These Apps Will Help You Sleep When You Travel... by Konquest: 9:59pm On Oct 20, 2024
Jovago:
2015, and there is literally an app for everything! Myriad apps have been fashioned to make the traveler’s life comfortable, and a large number of independent travelers who own smartphones either already have or know about many of the most useful travel apps. In this piece, Jovago.com , Africa’s No. 1 online hotel booking service, has identified a list of apps that help travelers monitor and improve sleep while travelling. These apps include:

White Noise

Available for iPhone and Android, White Noise is the ultimate sleep-aid device. If you have problems sleeping while traveling, you can pick your favorite sound to relax and calm your mind to help induce a nap. The app offers about 40 soothing sounds, no streaming required and you have access to download hundreds more for free. It allows continuous playback of perfectly looped audio without interruption. These high-quality looped sound choices include ocean waves, light or heavy rains, water drip, an air conditioner and a purring cat. It also supports multiple sound timers, alarms, and waking to music. There are a number of apps similar to White Noise currently in the App Store but White Noise is seemingly the best of the bunch. It is however available at a cost of $1.99.

Entrain

Entrain as the name implies is a mathematical app that helps ‘entrain’ you to a new schedule. Traveling across time zones confuses the body, which uses light as a signal. Taking into account your travel schedule and standard routines, Entrain estimates a schedule of light and dark to ease jet lag. Its main goal is to help you get your clock to the right time zone quickly. Doing this should help you start sleeping better, faster, in the new time zone. if you feel like you need to sleep during an adjustment, you can simply update your lighting history on the Schedule page to get new recommendations. Entrain is available for free on Android and iPhone.

JetLag Genie

The JetLag Genie helps you put together a customized multi-day schedule based on your personal sleep patterns and your flight info, in a bit to ward off the haze of jet lag. The App eases you into your new time zone days before your trip by advising on how to strike the right balance between sleep, waking hours, catching some sun, food and exercise. JetLag Genie also includes a melatonin guide, so that you know when the naturally occurring compound, which regulates circadian rhythms needs a boost. The app is easy and fun to use as well. However, it is only available for iOS (iPhones) at $2.99.

Jet Lag Rooster

Based on research about the effect of light on jet lag, the Jet Lag Rooster is a straightforward app that helps you sleep at your regular hours but controls your light exposure before bedtime to adjust time zones more quickly. Like the JetLag genie, The Jet Lag Rooster allows you to choose to start the adjustment process on arrival or a few days before departure, which may help prevent the lag entirely. It also offers resources that include when to use the sleep aid melatonin and how to adjust your sleep cycle. With options to input your regular sleep and wake times, the app is easy to use. You can even set alarms for its events: seek light, avoid light, sleep and wake up. It is also for free on iTunes and Google Play.

Pzizz

Pzizz is a very enjoyable app as it uses the combination of a soothing voice and calming music to lull you to sleep. To keep things interesting, it produces new, inimitable soundscape each time you use it so that you won’t get put off by a repetitive set of sounds. Also, the app offers sleep and power nap modules, the latter of which can be used for as little as 10 minutes. Pzizz is available for free on iPhone and Android.

FoodRe: Easy Way To Make Ice Cream At Home (Video/pictures) by Konquest:
Love800:
Whats the difference between ice-cream, yogurt, parfait?
I'm not a culinary professional but I like to experiment with foods from various cultures whenever I travel internationally.

My reference to ice cream and yogurt in that post was just me trying out some of the recipes gleaned online in my spare time.

So, ice creams and yogurts are essentially made up of the same ingredients (majorly dairy or milk-based) but yogurts undergo a beneficial bacterial fermentation process which is healthy anyway. This is why yogurts are used for probiotic purposes. Probiotics simply refer to beneficial bacteria that aids the health of the human body.

Parfaits originated from France in the 1890s and in the English language, the French word Parfait means "Perfect." Essentially, parfaits are ice creams or yogurts with toppings of fruits in between layers of ice cream and yoghurt. There's a vast array of ways to do this depending on the country or geographical location.

The major difference between parfait and ice cream is that, ice creams have air whipped into them ( to make them lighter) as they freeze while parfaits have air whipped into them and they are frozen afterwards!

You can do some basic and advanced online search or Googling to get more insights on these culinary terms.
