Ourtruth247: Indoctrination is a very powerful tool
I will first like to touch on the subject of indoctrination because it's a very crucial aspect of truth searching.
As a kid I was born into a Christian family and indoctrinated from a young age. All of my thinking, views and beliefs about the world were done through the lens of my religion. I believed everything I was told by my Sunday school teachers and my pastors.
Believing what I was told was not a choice It was something the brain of every young human child has been programmed to do by our creator. As I grew older these beliefs grew with me and stayed with me.
You see, indoctrination is like a powerful spell that can only be broken by an honest desire to know the truth, and only few reach this stage in their lives.
Rebelling against your indoctrination is a very excruciating experience and most people would rather not experience such. There is a sort of comfort, order, happiness and peace you get from believing you have the answers to important questions about life. Challenging those beliefs would seem like an attempt to deprive yourself of those things. Hence the phrase "Ignorance is bliss"
But church wasn't the only place of indoctrination. There was also the school. In school we were taught what to believe and forced to memorize what we were taught to the point where we would regurgitate it word for word. This is similar to how muslims indoctrinate young children to the point of memorizing the Quran word for word.
Again, just like in the case of religious indoctrination, I didn't have a choice; I believed everything I learned and I was good at regurgitating it in exams.
Most of what we were taught in school was true and could be tested in the laboratory or tested by mathematical equations. But there were other aspects of what we were taught that couldn't be tested; HISTORY - and we were made to believe and memorize everything we were taught about history. We were given dates for various events and names of important figures dating all the way to the beginning of human civilization.
I never questioned any of these things; never questioned my religion and never questioned official history until 11 years ago. This was when I began a journey to break loose of all the shackles of indoctrination that had held me back from the truth.
Ourtruth247: This thread is going to be a totality of all of my research for the past 11 years.
I will take you on a journey where I will explore every angle of my research and examine every bit of evidence - putting every piece together with the intention of painting a clear picture of the truth.
This thread will serve as the place to go if you are new to my research or if any of my other threads don't make sense to you, or if you crave a more holistic understanding of my research.
This thread is also for those that think I am just a random conspiracy theorist spewing trash. I want them to know that everything I say and every subject I touch is a piece of the puzzle and when you observe every subject as components within the entire structure of lies and hidden truths, then you will begin to see the world for what it really is.
FreeStuffsNG: There's no conjecture in the first place just plain mischief and criminal defamation.
Those criminal defamers knew that Oando was not the importer but chose to deceive those already ignorant and filled with hatred.
Even the PECC was inaugurated recently few months ago so the attempt to link importation and the PECC are misleading and part of the mischief by losers in the election last year. Malta sells cheap petrol so it makes sense to import from Malta.
Very well said.
Oando PLC is officially listed on the Nigerian Stock exchange and there is NO way that the shareholders would NOT have known about the alleged acquisition of any Malta oil blending terminal since Oando is a public liability company subject to scrutiny by the shareholders. It was all PURE FABRICATION which using advanced tracking devices led me to realized that it was dishonest propagandists with affiliations or links to Peter Obi's political party and ethnic group that FABRICATED that story and pushed it out relentlessly via X, Nairaland, YouTube and other online platforms from the last week of July 2024, after Aliko Dangote made some allegations but did NOT mention Oando Plc or anybody's name. in order to demonize Wale Tinubu and the entire Tinubu extended family, a lot of highly gullible simpletons in the public fell for the lie. That FAKE Oando and Malta story was also fabricated to make Nigeria ungovernable in the lead up to the August 1 to August 10, 2024 violent protests. It was done surreptitiously but these propagandists were NOT smart enough to cover all their tracks.
The so-called Malta company did NOT even exist as can be read from the Oando Plc Press Release rebuttal below and from other Web links as Ras Hanzir had already been DELISTED many years ago from the Malta Business Registry. These propagandists didn't even bother to cover their online tracks as they came to believe in their own lies. Right on this thread from the first page, you can still see some of these creeps rehashing the same FAKE Oando link with Malta story again. Tbh, the Federal Government has to sit up to fight FAKE news as it can bring down any goverment in power. The Secret Service agencies should have moved in to arrest these fake news spreaders who are well known by now. This is the ONLY way to stop the spread of FAKE news.
ijustdey: Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has said that one of the “graduates” fraudulently mobilised for the scheme by University of Calabar, Cross Rivers State, is a bread seller who did not attend the institution.
This is coming on the back of 101 certificates that were recently voided by the scheme, making it 178.
Ahmed commended the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi for her forthrightness to have earlier hinted the scheme on the mobilisation of unqualified graduates from her institution.
He insisted that the scheme would leave no stone unturned in sanitising its mobilisation process.
“The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar came here to report that she observed some names appeared on the institution’s list and they ought not to have been there.
“She checked the list the school gave us and I told her that their certificates would be invalidated.

All the best to Hon. Justice Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Kekere-Ekun, CFR, and other newly appointed legal practitioners.
Racoon: In today's Saturday Tribune column, I compare Tinubu's "economic reforms" to IBB's SAP and the experiences of Latin American countries that used the IMF/World Bank-backed "reforms" Tinubu is implementing. I also highlight the example of Malaysia that bucked the IMF and developed. ~~~~~~ The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration likes to psychologically anesthetize Nigerians who are grieving from the hurt of its economic policies (petrol price spike, electricity tariff hike, devaluation of the naira, etc.) by saying Nigerians are only undergoing transitory pains in the service of a forthcoming permanent prosperity.
I have repeatedly called this an intentional lie. I have done so from the benefit of my knowledge of the outcomes of such policies in other countries, including in Nigeria from 1986 to 1993 when Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida implemented a Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) as dictated by the World Bank and the IMF, which is similar to Tinubu’s “reforms.” ~~~~~ But let’s start with SAP in Nigeria. In 1986, self-described military president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida was persuaded by the IMF and the World Bank to “restructure and diversify” Nigeria’s economy.
The restructuring and diversification led to the removal of subsidies on petrol (all past regimes called petrol price spikes “subsidy removal”), devaluation of the naira (now it’s known by the fancy term “floating of the naira”), deregulation (that is, allowing market forces to regulate the economy while the government takes the back seat), privatization (i.e., selling off of Nigeria’s national patrimony to a few moneybags), etc.
The immediate aftereffect of this IMF-endorsed “restructuring” (Tinubu calls his “reform”) of the economy was a never-before-seen inflationary conflagration, which eroded the purchasing power of the average Nigerian. It produced widespread hardship similar to what Nigerians are going through at this moment.
Petrol price spike and privatization led to job losses and a deepening of the unemployment crisis. Reduction in government spending, particularly on social services, led to declines in healthcare and education quality. Poverty rates also increased as a direct consequence of the removal of subsidies for fuel and basic services.
I distinctly remember all the rhetorical maneuvers that officials of the IBB regime used to fray nerves, and they are awfully similar to what honchos of the Tinubu regime now use: it will get worse before it gets better, there is light at the end of the tunnel, there is no gain without pain, Nigeria simply can’t afford to fund subsidies, our economy would collapse if we don’t restructure the economy, the current system is unsustainable, we’ll all smile and appreciate the wisdom of this temporary sacrifice when the gains start coming, etc.
By 1993 when IBB left power, Nigeria became firmly secured in the economic toilet. Manufacturing collapsed, social unrest rose, and brain drain (which is now called “japa”) started and blossomed, and hopelessness was democratized.
Farooq's perspective is insightful and his take about Gen. Ibrahim Babangida's introduction of the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) in 1986 is historically correct (indeed in 1989, there were violent anti-SAP protests in Lagos State and other States as well that led to lootings, and snatching of valuables from people). As a man who was alive in the 1980s, I witnessed the years of Gen. Gowon, Gen. Murtala, Gen. Obasanjo, President Shagari, Gen. Buhari and Gen. IBB military years of the 1980s. Farooq's write-up was quite concise but he missed a point in that the Babangida and Tinubu experiences CANNOT be seen as the same in terms of economic policy implementation.
However, the advantage which IBB DIDN'T have back in the 1980s is that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the extra advantage of the introduction of CNG fuel as a CHEAPER alternative source of fuel which IBB DIDN'T have. Already from information out in the public domain, there are already 12 brand new NNPC CNG stations in Lagos State and Abuja with more being planned in other parts of Nigeria. Already from information online, the new NNPC CNG station in Lagos State which was launched on May 30, 2024, has been selling CNG at the cheapest price of N200 per standard cubic feet to happy private car owners and truck drivers who have witnessed a sharp drop in money spent on fueling their vehicles instead of using the MORE expensive PMS fuel with is selling at close to N1000 in a lot of places from my online investigations.
Consequently, the Presidential CNG Initiative is ALSO converting over 1 million commercial vehicles for FREE or nearly free in order to be able to use the cheaper CNG fuel as of this moment and as President Tinubu clearly said towards the end of his speech to Nigerians of Sunday August 4, 2024 (which a lot of Nigerians in the Diaspora and in Nigeria eagerly awaited) this deployment of CNG with free conversation of commercial vehicle to use CNG would LOWER the cost of transportation and expensive food items by a HUGE 60% OR MORE! Price checks of food items will also have to be put in place when CNG is fully available to these converted commercial vehicles to ensure that greedy commodities and food stuff sellers do NOT continue to quote higher prices to the end buyers.
CNG is meant to LARGELY replace (or complement PMS usage which is more expensive and has led to higher costs of transportation). It would ALSO lead to less visits to the auto mechanics and it's NOT as combustible as the regular LPG cooking gas.
A lot of people with short attention span were FALSELY saying after that Sunday speech that Tinubu didn't address the fuel issue, but he did. President Tinubu and his speech writers however could have done better by reducing the length of the speech while ALSO putting the CNG supply and FREE conversions of 1 million commercial vehicles information right at the top of the speech to quickly grab the attention of Nigerians and let Nigerians know the CHEAPER advantage of buying CNG at N200 per standard cubic feet. This should have been done because a lot of human beings have short attention spans and are NOTORIOUSLY impatient with LONG speeches, while some are just filled with bigotry and hatred, so, would pretend NOT to acknowledge what a rival is saying.I wasn't surprised when after the speech, a lot of people who did NOT fully pay attention to that Presidential speech started lashing out in anger that he didn't say anything about the introduction of cheap fuel through the re-introduction of fuel subsidies. The President Tinubu should ALSO have CLEARLY asked Nigerians for two months timeframe for the rapid deployment and conversions of these commercial vehicles to use CNG fuel and hence lower prices of transportation and drop artificial inflation which is fueled by high fuel and food prices which a significant number of folks in Nigeria say they are finding very difficult to afford.
Effective communication is very important on the part of the governments at all levels, AND active listening and effective communication are also important for a lot of Nigerians to imbibe because MANY Nigerians are sometimes notoriously impatient and do NOT pay attention to little details.
Austema: Yes, in Igala it's called Ojé uchu, meaning Pounded yam, because of the similarities between the fruit and pounded yam in texture and in colour.
This is the season

This Goriba fruit in the picture doesn't have the texture and color of pounded yam.
Where is the EVIDENCE that this happened? I'll take some of these alleged incidents reported by so-called attendee or anonymous sources without a name put to their faces with a pinch of salt! I've stopped believing many of these supposed anonymous sources because past published reports from anonymous sources have been discredited with evidence to back them up.
dre11: Nigeria was awash with news recently about the quantum leap in the quantity of fuel imports from Malta after revelations by Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
In 2023, Nigeria’s petroleum importation from Malta surged significantly to $2.8 billion, compared to zero between 2017 and 2022, and a mere $13.32 million in 2016.
Mele Kyari, the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), immediately denied Dangote’s claim, saying he did not have interest in any plant in Malta.
TheCable can now reveal the identity of one of the biggest importers via the tiny European country.
He is Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, owner of Matrix Energy and member of the presidential economic coordination council (PECC).
In an interview with TheCable, however, Aliu strenuously denied any wrongdoing in his business practices and promised a full response to the newspaper’s questions.
‘SMALL PLAYER, BIG CONTRACTS’
In July 2024 alone, over 200,000 tonnes of petrol from Malta were discharged into the Matrix jetty in Warri, Delta state, according to an insider who shared confidential documents with TheCable.
“This represents about 25 percent of Nigeria’s monthly PMS consumption going to a relatively small player with only 150 retail stations,” the insider said.
The insider said Aliu is also leveraging his close relations with the top management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) to secure crude oil cargoes from the national oil company for his company.
“Crude cargoes are discretionarily allocated to Matrix Energy by the NNPC monthly,” the person familiar with the company’s operations said.
The crude allocations to Matrix are traded by Gulf Transport & Trading (GTT), a trading company registered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the insider.
“Two of the three crude cargoes of the recently launched Utapate grade were allocated to GTT,” the source said.
“The crude cargoes are typically sold at a $3 per barrel premium which translates to $3 million per cargo with no sweat. This implies a tax-free take of almost $150 million per year or N240 billion, at N1,600/$.”
On August 5, NNPC introduced the Utapate crude oil blend into the international market.
The new crude oil grade is from an oil mining lease (OML) 13, fully operated by NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL), an upstream subsidiary of NNPC.
‘FROM RUSSIA TO NIGERIA VIA MALTA AND LOME’
Matrix — which has three old ships (Matrix Pride, Matrix Triumph, and Matrix S.ILU) — reportedly loads diesel products exported from Russia in Lome, Togo.
It is understood that the diesel from Russia is typically off-spec and is often corrected in places like Lome and Malta through blending with other components.
However, on June 16, about 15,000 tonnes of diesel — loaded on May 26 from Novorossiysk, Russia, and transported by a vessel, MT Kallos — were reportedly transloaded into Matrix Triumph offshore Lome without corrections and discharged into Matrix jetty in Warri, Delta state, Nigeria, on June 21.
On June 19, another 15,000 tonnes were transloaded into Matrix Pride and then discharged into the Obat Oil terminal on June 22.
In documents seen by TheCable, the products from Malta were transported through intermediate ships and sometimes through intermediate companies like Poly Pro Trading registered in Dubai Free Trade Zone.
Their listed office at OneJLT Towers 05.015, Dubai, is a business centre without any physical presence, according to checks by TheCable.
“Malta is now the top European destination for blending and ship-to-ship (STS) transfers of sanctioned Russian oil and petroleum products ever since the Greek navy decided to stop such activities in their offshore zone,” the source said.
“About 35 percent of shipment into Malta is naphtha and other components which are blended into gasoline to produce lower quality ‘African Spec’. This lower quality spec is then transhipped into various vessels for delivery into Nigeria to be sold to unsuspecting public who suffer frequent vehicle and equipment breakdowns.”
Eriokanmi: This one small tin nah. Sebi you see your money collect back. Have you ever experienced a petrol attendant shortchanging you? There are petrol stations I've marked in Lagos. Don't buy fuel at Conoil ikeja along (formerly national) and the one beneath it, when coming out of the local airport to hit the ikeja along road. Don't buy fuel at the FO Station at oba akran avenue and mobil opposite Guinness. If you must buy fuel there, just alight from your vehicle and watch until the last drop enters your vehicle. If you allow anyone to distract you or block your view while the other attendant is dispensing fuel, o ti rogo niyę. Na half fuel go get.
They'd also tell you they're pouring injector cleaner into your tank for a token. Before you pay for the injector cleaner, make sure you collect it from them and be sure it's intact and never been opened otherwise, na empty can dem go insert inside your tank. You go think say something dey pour inside. The day I caught them, they didn't believe their eyes. The attendant couldn't say pim. They were just begging.
GloriousGbola: nothing i have not seen or experienced before. sympathy for the poor in nigeria is dangerous because they see you as an alakowe sucker to be fleeced. in the right circumstances, several of them will have no problem with murdering you for your money. whatever you think you have done for them in the past does not matter.
Poco has detailed some experiences she has had in the past when people she did business with regularly thought they had an upper hand and showed colour
Ishilove: A netizen shared his experience with Nigeria hawkers in Abuja. He was in a generous mood and decided to give back to the society. However, what his eyes saw during the whole exercise left him feeling weak and restless.
Two days ago I went out intending to give 5 random hawkers 20k each.
The plan was to first buy their products and then pay them plus extra 20k cash.
The first woman I met was at Utako Market.
Immediately I stopped by the ever busy market, the hawkers besieged my car with their products. The lucky woman I picked was selling African Pear in tiny baskets and each basket cost N1,000.
I asked her to give me 5 baskets. Each baskets had less than 10 pieces arranged inside.
Immediately she brought down her tray, I couldn’t see what she was doing from inside the car, so I turned on the car's 360-degree camera.
I watched as she emptied 3 baskets into the nylon bag instead of 5 baskets. She quickly tied the nylon and even raised her head to tell me she added two pieces of pears as Jara and then quickly opened the back door and dropped it there.
Instead of saying anything, I gave her 3k. She told me with an unbelievable audacity that her money was remaining 2k.
I looked at this woman, amazed by how such an old woman could tell such a petty lie with a straight face.
I pointed at the dashboard screen of my car and when she looked, she saw her tray on the ground and her legs. It was at that moment she knew she had f**ked up and she quickly left.
I drove up a little bit and called one of the boys hawking plantains. I pointed at the biggest one in his hand and we agreed 10k for it. I turned On my camera again and asked him to put it in the trunk of the car. Before he got to the trunk of the car he quickly switched the plantains and put the smaller one in the car.
When he came to collect his money, I asked him why he switched the plantains and he swore in the name of the God of his religion that he did not.
I went to the trunk of the car, brought out the plantain, handed it back to him, and drove off with my money back to the house. I have had enough of almost everyone wanting to rip everyone off.
When I got home, I sent the equivalent of the 100k to my mother’s bank account and had restlessness thinking about the dogs-eat-dogs mindset that has become a tradition in our society.
rentAcock: One of the smartest thing I did was to invest in Starlink back in 2014 as an angel investor. The company is worth an estimated $73 billion today with a scheduled IPO in 2025 or 2026. I became aware of the early series round of investment through a Lebanese client of mine in lagos and it peaked my interest. Sometimes, God uses other people to open doors for you without you knowing.
Now, I only invested in Starlink because at that time I viewed Elon Musk as a visionary and a pioneer. But recently the man has become too radical and a staunch supporter of Trump the racist. Once the company goes public and the lockout period for early investors expires, I will sell all my shares and never look back. I also canceled my starlink subscription last month. I will never support racists like Trump and Elon.
FreeStuffsNG: The entire land size for the ground station is estimated at about 29,000 acres according to our sources. Construction has already begun in Okun Ajah, Lagos State, and is expected to be completed by Q4 2024.
Thank you Elon Musk for investing in Lagos and Nigeria. We are grateful.
Invest in Lagos today for great returns on investment and to enjoy the best investor friendly experience in Nigeria and Africa.
May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
The Q4 completion is pretty fast and that would boost satellite Internet connectivity in those locations in Nigeria.
This girl should have been made to wait for the NEXT Miss Universe Nigeria beauty contest in 2025 so as to have her name and her family's name CLEARED from South Africa.
Ben Murray-Bruce and Guy Murray-Bruce haven't done their background checks on this girl's identity and real origins properly. Was her father [Michael Okechukwu "Adetshina"] who is from Enugu State and a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo in South Africa been properly investigated by the Murray-Bruces to know his real ethnic origins and how he got the fabricated name "Adetshina?"
The name "Adetshina" does NOT exist in the Yoruba language but ADESINA does. Letters "T" and "H" do not exist in ADESINA based on standard Yoruba spelling. This also applies to the names such as SADE (the shortened form of the name Folasade), OSOGBO, OGBOMOSO, OSUN, SOLA (the shortened form of Adesola or Olusola), which ALL do NOT contain the letter "H." For instance the iconic British-Nigerian award-winning musician, Folasade Adu (SADE ADU) who became the FIRST person of Nigerian descent to win a Grammy Award in 1986 uses the name "SADE" without any letter "H." Sade Adu was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1959 to a Yoruba father who is ORIGINALLY from Ekiti State and a White English mother who was a district Nurse, who he met while he was studying at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London back in the 1950s.
Enough RED FLAGS have been raised by folks who are very discerning from among those of South African and Nigerian descent (of Yoruba and non-Yoruba origins). The South Africans noticed RED FLAGS because she doesn't speak any South African language from ANY of the 11 ethnicities recognized in South Africa AND doesn't have a single South African or even Mozambican name in her FULL names.
Another RED FLAG is that out of all the full names she bears, [Chidimma and Onwe] are ethnic Ibo names. Her FULL names are Vanessa Chidimma Onwe "Adetshina." If her father is from the Yoruba ethnic group like some have been trying to portray and deflect others from exposing here, her father would have given her at LEAST 1 Yoruba name as is customary with all Yoruba father's who live around the world who have given Yoruba names to their children from mixed marriages or multicultural marriages they are involved in. Credible information from South Africa indicates that her father is a certain Michael Okechukwu "Adetshina" from Enugu State and he has been a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo, an Ibo sociocultural group in South Africa. So, he is NOT a Yoruba man from the Yoruba ethnic group of Nigeria with a population of over 55 million people worldwide (which is one of the 250 DISTINCT ethnic groups in Nigeria). So, you can CLEARLY guess how an Ibo man from Enugu State got the fabricated name of "Adetshina."
Some insidious online posters of Ibo origin on NL including this same NL thread and elsewhere on X, FB, and YouTube are now saying that Chidimma's Mozambican mother's name is "Adetshina" but there is NO Mozambican name whether male or female that is known as "Adetshina" after advanced investigations.
The South African Department of Home Affairs has unveiled a preliminary report based on their investigations and found out that Chidimma's supposed mother of Mozambican descent was involved in a case of IDENTITY THEFT in 2001 (which is the same year Chidimma was born) based on information in the South African Home Affairs data base and some South Africans have also been implicated to be part of the cartel selling South African citizenship to undeserving foreigners. If found guilty, all those connected with her family and the South Africans involved in the cartel will be arrested and tried in court based on existing South African laws.
I hope Ben and Guy know the FULL legal implications of what they are doing because the aftermath of them rushing head long in featuring this 23-year-old girl (whose mother and father are mired in a dodgy case of identity theft to obtain South African citizenship in 2001) will be dire for the image of their Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. Since the 1980s, I've known that Ben and Guy (who are of Scottish paternal and Nigerian maternal descent) are usually very thorough in what they do, including bringing some A-list American music stars to Nigeria for music concerts, but I have my very strong reservations over their actions in rushing to invite this girl whose family is still mired in a major identify theft controversy to take part in their beauty contestant. Period.
scholes0: In Google's Translation services biggest expansion ever, they have now added 110 new languages from around the world, bringing the total number of languages they offer translation services in to 243 different tongues from around the globe, coming close to doubling the number of languages it handles since their last time of expansion back in 2022 when it added 24 new languages.
Of these new languages added, three more Nigerian languages make the list (Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo had since been added since 2014). These new Nigerian languages are: Tiv Kanuri Fulani (Fulfulde)
looseweight: Around 2018 when I travelled home from Lagos, na gas powered bus transported me. Then, I really feared for my live thinking it could burst at any slight bump. When I alighted, I just thank God..lolz
Even though I don't always subscribe to Mr Bayo school of thought, I have seen cars and trailers converted to CNG right in Ibadan. If you visit the Mobil station along toll gate in IB, you definitely would see lots of them waiting to load CNG fuel. I could get snapshots to prove it
From what you wrote, it's interesting to know that the Mobil station in that part of Ibadan dispenses the CNG fuel as well. Nigeria is off to a good start in the gradual diffusion of CNG thereby leading to a reduction down the road in the cost of transportation and food items.
CNG isn't as dangerous as the popular LPG cooking gas and it's way cheaper for folks at N200 per standard cubic feet of gas. There's ALSO going be less visits to the auto mechanic to change auto parts. I read online and saw videos as well indicating that as of May 30, 2024, the NNPC had officially launched mega NNPC CNG refill stations in Lagos State and sold CNG at N200 per standard cubic feet to car and truck owners. A woman who bought CNG said her cost of CNG fuel refill at the NNPC station had led to massive savings for her instead of buying the more expensive PMS. Since then, I've read of a total of 12 newly commissioned NNPC fuel stations in Lagos and Abuja which is impressive. More NNPC CNG refill stations are planned for other regions in Nigeria and this I believe would bring down hyperinflation and the cost of transportation and foods as long as there is price monitoring measures because some greedy Nigerians who want to maximize profits wouldn't want to bring down prices on time.
Just to add, for folks like me who were alive back in the 1980s, I can confirm that Bayo Onanuga is one of the iconic veterans of the relatively free democracy that folks back in Nigeria are experiencing today right from his struggles as on of the respected top guerilla journalists who fought bravely (alongside lawyers, educators, and other pro-democrats) against the ruthless military dictatorships especially back from the late 1980s right through to the early 1990s. There's just an ongoing, organized hate speech and propaganda (laced with fabricated lies) being fueled against him and others by well-known ethnic bigots from the secessionist Websites right from the last Presidential election cycle. The activation of the online hate speech laws with hard punishments duly served for defamation would stop these criminal defamers. The past governments of PDP and APC especially at the Federal level are to blame for NOT reigning in these known instigators of online hate speech on social media platforms such as X, NL, FB, YouTube, and their secessionist websites and blogs because they underestimated it's destructive consequences to national cohesion. The DSS ought to have disrupted the activities of those creeps by now.
I like the insights you gave about the Mobil CNG presence in Ibadan.
PriceActionZ: No, bro, YT monetization doesn't work like that. He may not make that amount in billions, but it may be close. Let's do the math from a professional angle. Though MA comedy has 10million sub, it's the views and video length that matters. Their views may not be top tier countries, but they are mostly Africans and majority Nigerians, and many probably youths and kids. MA comedy monthly views is around 18 millions, I am assuring you that the rpm won't be more than $3 per 1000 views, (max), because it's a low rpm niche, which is entertainment and coming mostly from African and to make it worse, short contents, less than 5 mins. I don't know of other platforms like Facebook and TikTok views, so i can't calculate that. But in a nutshell they can be making max of (18,000,000x3)/1000= $54,000/m
On the other hand, Pastor Jerry Eze has 2.12M subscribers, and around 12million views per month, LONG CONTENT, AVERAGING 40MINS, NICHE is SPIRITUALITY, AND THE RPM WILL NEVER BE LESS THAN 40$/1000 views BECAUSE OF THE LENGTH AND THE NICHE. Has numbers of viewers in top tier countries , pushing the rpm far higher. so in a nutshell, (12,000,000x40)/1000=$480,000 . So you see the difference. Spirituality has rpm of around $8 or less for around 10 mins of video. so that is around 768,000,000 in naira, per month that Jerry likely making bro, lets even give him the lower band.. lets say, 500Million naira....CRAZY I am not even adding super chats, super thanks, stickers, other perks and selling books, those will never be less than $100,000 per month, NEVER. That is even where the YT money is hidden , not the rpm per se.. you can see how some big churches that stream their services and monetized on yt makes additional money from you.
YT is all about views, location of the viewers, video length ( the higher , the better), niche, and the numbers of minutes spend in watching your contents. That's why many Nigerian upcoming ytbers fail, especially those frog voices nairaland youtubers that always turn 10secs videos to 1min with their urgly voices. They will never make $100 in 6 months if monetized . They don't know what makes you a highly paid ytber that will turn it to cashcow.
iLegendd: I like how WhatsApp and co. have integrated AI into everything, but are you sure the people Buhari called lazy youths won't be lazier with this? Just to wish someone a happy birthday, they'll go to AI to compose it. Won't this have side effects in Africa?
This Meta AI is absolutely incredible. It even decodes the Nigerian pidgin English and gives a feedback in standard English. That's mad sick!
I just watched the full video. The Kenyan lady made many valid points that people of Nigerian descent are high achievers. Conversely, it's NOT in all fields and it's NOT all Nigerians that are high achievers. Even within the same family, some members achieve more than others.
Last but NOT least, I can conclusively say that out of Nigeria's 250 DISTINCT ethnic groups, it's those Nigerian ethnic groups and cultures located in different regions which culturally encourage their young female and male children to become achievers in different fields of human endeavors that are the MOST successful NOT just within Nigeria but globally in major Nigerian population centers in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, South Africa, etc. Female inclusivity is key in a people or country becoming sustainable achievers because when you train a woman, you train a nation.
From historical studies, the Yorubas for instance have that already in-built culture for centuries of empowering their women through inclusivity and formal education and this is why you have Yoruba women occupying key leadership positions from centuries past and in modern times, many Yoruba women occupy several key professional positions from finance, business to the STEM fields, not just in Nigeria but worldwide. The Edos (Binis, Esans, etc), Efiks, Ibos, and generally other Southern and Middle Belt of Nigeria ethnicities and cultures have since the late 1800s and accelerating from the 1900s also developed that drive for achievements depending on the family structures and exposure to education. In the far North of Nigeria, there are families that also emphasize the importance of education (Islamic and formal education) but there's still a lot to be done in the North and other parts of Nigeria in ramping up educational, professional and sustainable entrepreneurial pursuits in order to be globally competitive.
rinzaugustine: Your search might be just NY but narrow it down to the city and the prices will shock you…Queens, Bronx and all those areas frequented by tourists are usually very expensive when you book at short notice. There was a time I booked for short notice in DC and couldn’t find anywhere less than $200 and when you add the hidden charges and taxes it will push it close to $250 at time of payment and and I have encountered it many times even in Minneapolis that’s famed to be cheap so the secret to cheaper bookings is in planning your trip early way ahead of time
cococandy: There are dirt cheap hotels that cost that much per day as at now. Much less many years ago. Meaning he could have gotten hotels for that price or less for 24 hours since this supposedly happened years ago.
Na him wan stay New York. In fact even in New York he could have gotten hotels at that price for 24 hours instead of 8 hours and stay the whole day. plus some will serve you breakfast.
Pls shut up abeg.
Obvious, the dude was naive and not well grounded about the way things get done in the U.S. Accomodation is one of the top 3 things an immigrant should get sorted out before moving into any city.
With the Internet, price checks and comparison shopping have become easy peazy.
When I had a thing or two to do in New York few years ago, I just entered Walmart and bought a nice and comfortable tent. Spread it tax-free around 5th avenue and enjoyed myself.
Newlymarried: A US-based Nigerian man has disclosed how tough it is finding accommodation in the United States of America.
He revealed that many years ago, he had to pay $80 to sleep in a "pod-like box" for 8 hours per day.
He added that the money only covers 8 hours after which the occupant must leave so that someone else who paid can occupy the box.
For the rest of the day, the person remains homeless.
He shared photos of the sleeping boxes, several of which were built into a room and closed with wooden doors.
Each box is a tiny space built that can contain just a small mattress and nothing else. The box has no fan or any of the appliances needed for a good night's sleep.
