WannaHowzit:Oops! I get it, so it was all sarcasm. The first sentence of your rebuttal cracked me up here. ![]() In any event, those who come out to educate others and live positively with HIV are real heroes though. A couple with HIV are even able to have children if the want to without infecting the baby which is huge. Enjoy your day. |
LVStone:I find this post and thread to be interesting while silently going through the specifics. Right off the bat, it could be that her diet or what she ingests is what caused the body odor since metabolism takes place at night when we sleep and the bye-products and wastes are generated for egestion by the body. For example, some types of spices such as bulbs such as onions or garlic can cause this situation. Second, shaving of the public hairs in the lower privates and armpits smack down with shavings sticks or better yet the use of depilatory creams would do some immediate magic. Third, a full body detoxification process can be done because our bodies build up impurities with time as a result of all the toxins that we ingest or inhale from vehicle fumes, chemicals, deodorants, heavy metals from underground water supplies close to industrial areas, etc. These can be done at specialist detox centers such as the one in Maryland, Lagos, owned by Professor Asiru who is renowned as a specialist pionee of the first test-tube baby in Nigeria. So, you can Google up his Wellness Center in Maryland and reach out to know the cost if you still need it. Detoxification of heavy metals from our bodies can also help folks who are looking to conceive children because heavy metals affect fertility in men and women. Hope that helps. Cheers. |
adamusuleiman3:Sayyu Dantata is Aliko Dangote's cousin from his maternal lineage and NOT his half-brother according to the misleading NL Frontpage headline. |
AnonPoet:Take it or leave it. Reno (who is a UK-trained lawyer, entrepreneur and investor) is a brilliant man when it comes to meticulously FACT-CHECKING information. He's absolutely right about his summations here. He of course deliberately played both sides against the middle in the past but he knew what he was doing then during the last 3 election cycles. Just the usual power play and subterfuge. |
AlexBells:You are probably aware of the many shocking, "reckless" cases of localized ritual killings of humans beings in Iboland and Enugu State where I see that you live in, and these have been going on for years now and reported in the media. I'm aware of over 100 well documented cases of these ritualistic killings in the South East of Nigeria alone for decades now since I first started paying attention in the 1980s to these insidious localized killings in the mass media around major regions in Nigeria. So, you better forget about your confirmation bias and allegation of "They should not just import their reckless skullaship" that you wrongly alluded to in your post. The death penalty is needed urgently for these heinous crimes. Read more evidence below. Google: Ritual killings in Enugu State. You will see a lot of recent (2024) and past cases of ritual killings of humans. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/07/mob-burns-2-suspected-ritualists-in-enugu/ https://punchng.com/enugu-man-murders-son-for-ritual-boy-kills-aibom-father-over-misfortune/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/04/ritual-killers-prowl-enugu/ https://www.whrin.org/nigeria-enugu-ritual-killing-these-men-rapedkilled-and-cut-off-ladys-breasts-and-privates/ https://dailypost.ng/2013/12/11/enugu-women-protest-ritual-murder-nine-women-forceful-marriage-deities/ Google: Ritual killings in Anambra State. I have always advocated for these capital punishments. |
NwaNimo1:Well Enugu State is a mix of indigenous Igala and Ibo ethnic groups. But what's wrong with simply using the title President-General of Yorubas in Enugu instead of this rather opaque Oba of Yorubas in Enugu when they have NO indigenous land or territories to rule over? |

1Sharon:Indeed @1Sharon. I admire you succinct intelligence here. When many discerning folks like us point to these obvious red flags and deep internal inconsistencies in this girl's family history, some insidious trolls deliberately try to DEFLECT and derail NL threads using sophistry and outright falsifications here on NL and on other online platforms. But the truth will always remain constant and there are many intelligent folks on NL and other Internet platforms who can easily deduce the facts from fiction. @Opamoses1, thanks for the like and share. Keep the flag flying. |

Glimpsetv:This ISN'T new. The rate of HIV on a lot of campuses (even in Nigeria) and the larger society is quite high based on researches that have been done in the past on Nigerian campuses and even within the Nigerian military and police. I read about a disturbing high figure on Benue State campuses a couple of years back. The ONLY saving grace is the presence of anti-retroviral drugs that have enabled the management of HIV to be a bit effective over the years. ~~~~~~ How I (actually) got HIV #storytime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTMXF_2FUd8 Bianca • 19:37 |
Zool6:Let me step into your convo here to correct the misleading post you made in the BOLDED texts above that this girl's former husband is an Itsekiri dude which he is NOT. Chidimma Vanessa Onwe "Adetshina's" Ibo husband is known as "King Sefo Amama" in the video EVIDENCE right BELOW and he lives in South Africa. He is NOT an Itsekiri man from Delta State. So, the name "Adetshina" is NOT the husband's name and there is NO name or spelling called "Adetshina" in the entire Itsekiriland (even though the Itsekiris are Yoruboid and are direct ancestral relatives of the larger Yoruba people of over 55 million people worldwide). Even that name "Adetshina" is NOT her mother's name from Mozambique like some Ibos have also been FALSELY posting online on Nairaland, X, YouTube and FB to divert attention from the truth about the dodgy history of her family. This is EXACTLY how last year (in 2023), a lot of Ibos were online and offline for 4 weeks defending a strong case of examination FRAUD committed by Mmesoma Ejikeme, while daily hauling toxic online insults towards the entire Yoruba people because of the Yoruba man (Professor Ishaq Oloyede) who is the boss of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Nigeria (JAMB), while blindly defending the Anambra-born 18-year-old girl examination CHEAT called Mmesoma Ejikeme who FORGED her JAMB exam result with her Ibo father's knowledge in order to qualify for an unmerited Innoson scholarship until the JAMB exam boss (Professor Ishaq Oloyede) and the mobile phone company (Airtel) gave massive digital evidence to show that she got her real exam result on her mobile phone in form of a text message which was lesser than the FORGED result. This dishonest young girl boldly made videos defending her FAKE exam result and was invited by the Anambra State government and the Federal House of Reps in Nigeria to hear her own side of the story. Anambra State rightly exposed Mmesoma Ejikeme as well for engaging in exam forgery. That 18-year-old girl called Mmesoma Ejikeme finally CONFESSED on video in the presence of the mass media and begged for forgiveness after being BUSTED as a fraud! She has been appropriately banned for a few years from taking any exams within Nigeria as a punishment for FORGERY and cheating. South Africans were indeed right to raise questions after noticing several RED FLAGS about this girl's (Chidimma Vanessa) family identity because she DOESN'T even speak Zulu (or even Tswana languages or any of the other 11 officially-recognized South African languages) despite the fact that she told the SA media in interviews that she lived her life with her supposed Zulu grandmother in Soweto and was allegedly born in a South African hospital 23 years ago in 2001. Zulu people are culturally very proud people and NO Zulu grandmother would allow her granddaughter or grandchild to get away WITHOUT speaking Zulu language. The Zulus are the largest of all the South African ethnic groups and they have a population of 10-12 million Zulus in SA. Below is the video of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe "Adetshina" and her known Ibo husband (King Sefo Amama) in South Africa with more visuals and information. UncleAyo:The FIRST video song is incredibly melodious. The third video is an impressive Yoruba liturgy recital by the White-skinned Ifa priest or Babalawo in Brazil. |
UncleAyo:@UncleAyo, I appreciate your impressive feedback here in confirming my suspicions about that poster's dodgy post. I wanted to ignore his post but then I saw the lame and divisive adjectives he used (because there are a couple of trolls and fake monikers on NL that are used for assuming another ethnic identity just for triggering toxic ethnic incitements from one thread after the other) and knew he couldn't be of Ijebu-Yoruba descent, so, I had to fire him just so that other readers don't come off with the wrong impression that Yoruba folks are fighting one another over religious differences. I have him in my radar now and will watch if that moniker will continue with that same divisive format then get to take the moniker down. Do have a great day ahead. Cheers. |

chibnnodi:Your post is incorrect. David Adedeji Adeleke's biological mother Dr. Veronica Hailey Imade Adeleke, a PhD holder and lecturer (who passed on when she was just 39 years of age in March 2003, when David was just a 10 years old) was NOT an Ibo lady. She was an Edo lady and actually hailed from Benin in Edo State. It's all public knowledge. However, David's father's mother (Esther Nnena Adeleke) was from Akwete in Abia State and I remember seeing her obituary in 2009 when she passed on. She met Davido's paternal grandfather (who built the first mosque in Enugu and was a practicing Muslim from Ede in Osun State, and later a Senator in the Second Republic from 1979) in Enugu before the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 while they were both in the nursing field. It was the warning given by Colonel Ojukwu to all non-indigenes of Old Eastern Region to immediately leave in June 1967 that made the Adeleke's and their then little children to leave Enugu for Ibadan and that is how the course of history changed. Matter of fact, the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke (who is Davido's father's brother) said in an interview I read before he died suddenly that the Adeleke kids all spoke the Ibo language fluently and had to start learning to speak Yoruba language on arrival in Yorubaland (Ibadan) in 1967. |
Goodvibes007:True that. Check out the critically acclaimed Netflix documentry entitled "Beyond Africa" which details out the role that the Yorubas played in the liberation struggles in Latin America and also how the Yoruba folks dispersed to many countries in the Americas through the trans-Atlantic slave trade in the 1800s. The folks at the Yoruba American village in South Carolina, Oyotunji including their recently translated Oba were interviewed and they told about their involvements in the Civil Rights struggles in the United States and how they teamed up with the members of the iconic Black Panther Movement in the U.S. |
LegendHero:Brazil already has a public holiday for the celebration of the Yoruba religion of Ifa. It would have been an embarrassing thing for Lagos State and other Yoruba States NOT to have an annual public holiday set aside to celebrate their religion which is an international religion as well with adherants of all "races" in the United States, UK, Cuba, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Haiti, and more. |
t2luv1:Let me step right in to correct your assumptions here. If you are indeed from Ijebu Ode and a Yoruba, you would NOT commit the grave blunder of casting aspersions on Yorubas who are Muslims. INFACT the majority (over 50 percent) of Ijebu people who are indigenes of both Lagos State and Ogun State are Muslims (because Ijebuland extends from Lagos State right across the border into Ogun State with Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Areas, and Ajah being Ijebuland located right in Lagos State). I dare say with your assumptions about Yorubas who are practicing Muslims, that YOU are NOT a Yoruba person for ignorantly casting aspersions on Yoruba folks who are Muslims. I'm NOT a Muslim, but as an internationally well-traveled man with a vast knowledge of world history and world religions for decades now, I know FULL well that Islam has been in Yorubaland (starting with the Oyo Empire) for over 500 years now, and that is even why in Bahia, Brazil, Yoruba folks who were Muslims led the deadly revolts against the Portuguese enslavements in the early 1800s called the "Male" revolts. "Imale" from with "Male" was derived is the old Yoruba name for Muslims because the religion ORIGINALLY came to the Oyo Empire from the Mali Empire. Other Muslims from other West African ethnicities also joined the Yorubas then to revolt because they were NOT allowed to do their prayers and also to break free from the shackles of enslavement. I say all these to let you know that Islam alongside the Yoruba religion (Ifa) have been in existence for centuries back long before Xtianity even came into Yorubaland in the 1800s. Tolerance and flexibility are important keys in life. So, this talk of Muslims of Yoruba descent holding back the so-called Southern unity of Nigeria is LAME! It's the complete restructuring and decentralization of Nigeria from the bogus unitary system being practiced over there that would liberate Nigeria and make the country globally competitive in the New Economy age we are currently in... NOT your false assumptions against Muslims of Yoruba descent, many of who I'm aware have brilliant minds and are extremely impatient and tired of the highly retrogressive state of an overcentralized system of governance in Nigeria. |
grandstar:Thanks for the mention @Grandstar. I just logged in and saw your post. Indeed, you are right about enslaved folks of Yoruba descent who where deported on slave schooners to Brazil. It wasn't ONLY Brazil, but also Cuba which both received about 250,000 men, women, and children from Yorubaland with even members of Yoruba royal families being deported as well due to wars within the same timeframe from the late 1700s, but it accelerated after 1800 due to the Yoruba Civil Wars and other wars till about 1860 when the last infamous American slave ship, called the Clotilda (with most of the 110 Africans on board being Yoruba people) landed in Mobile, Alabama, U.S.A on July 9, 1860 from Whydah in Benin Republic. They all were mostly modern Benin Republic Yorubas (the Bante region), modern Nigeria Yorubas who were going on a trading expedition, a Fon nobleman from modern Benin Republic, some Tapas (Nupe), and about two Hausas. They eventually formed a community called Africatown after the American Civil War ended in 1865 and their descendants are still alive as of today all over the United States engaging in successful career paths. One of the greatest American musicians and entertainers, QuestLove who is in the video right BELOW is a direct descendant of the Yoruba families on the infamous Clotilda (Charles and Maggie Lewis who were born in Africa). Oscar Winner QuestLove Reacts to Family History in Finding Your Roots | Ancestry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rbuzThk7oc?si=AIlHIUntSYXAS4hO Ancestry • 2021 Yes, Santeria is the name used for the Yoruba religion in Cuba while Candomble is what it's called in Brazil with Bahia being the epicenter of Yoruba religion and ulture in Brazil. Santeria essentially came into existence in Cuba because the Spanish tried to prevent Yorubas who made up one-third of the ethnic groups brought to Cuba and others from practicing their cultures, so the galant Oyo, Egba, Ijesa, Ekiti, etc, people who were the recorded Yorubas in Cuba in the 1800s had to hide the Orishas (Deities) behind the Catholic images to prevent being detected while worshiping. Santeria or Lucumi religion is essentially the Yoruba religion (Ifa) which today is internationally recognize as a world religion. Thanks again for the mention. Cheers. UPDATED: @ Grandstar, I've just updated my post to you with an Ancestry DNA video above of the Oscar winner "Quest Love" who is descended from those on the Infamous Clotilda slave schooner |
