Hausa Organisation Advises Kinsmen Against Joining Fulani-Organised Protests Against Tinubu, Reminds Youths Such Was Forbidden Under Buhari

A Hausa socio-cultural group under the umbrella of Hausawa Tsantsa Development Association (HTDA) has raised an alarm alleging that some Fulani people are plotting to instigate protests against President Bola Tinubu’s government.

The group, which made the allegation in a statement dated July 9 and signed by Kalthoom Alumbe Jitami, warned all Hausa youths across Nigeria against participating in the alleged planned protests, asking Hausa youths to be wary and vigilant of the plots.

The statement read, “By this call the youths are enjoined to shun every entreaties at them to join in the protest.

“This is so because the motive is self because the Fulanis are not the ones in control of power at the presidency now.

“It was this same tactic they employed to ruin the then government of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and to bring Buhari to power.

“Over 7 million of Hausawa were killed within the 8 years rule of Buhari. They forbid protests against Buhari's when Nigerians genuinely called for it, citing Islam that it was unIslamic to protest against the government or its leaders!

“Has the same Islam now permitted protests against the government? This we must not forget!

“The Hausawa Tsantsa is hereby dissociating itself from this protest in all its ramifications.

“That they want to use hunger in the land and LGBTQ as a basis for the protest is hypocritical because it was the unabetting attacks on farms and farmers that caused food shortages.

“We have nothing to do with it whatsoever and we are calling on all native nationalities of Nigeria to similarly dissociate themselves from these evil plans against our dear native land.

“We once again pledge our loyalty to the federal government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pray for God's guidance and protection over him, his family and the government of Nigeria.

“We equally pray for the Chief of Defense Staff and teams of his military for more wins on their side as they tackle terrorism, banditry and all manner of felony against the Nigerian state. We pray for the peace and well-being of Nigerians.”

SaharaReporters recently reported that a former federal lawmaker and human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani, had alleged that there were plans by northern political forces to use former President Muhammadu Buhari to undermine the government of President Tinubu.

During an interview with Arise News TV, Sani alleged that there are indications of a political realignment underway in the North, aimed at mobilising support against President Tinubu's government.

He claimed that certain political forces are seeking to exploit President Buhari's influence as a rallying point to galvanise opposition and potentially destabilize the current administration

Sani said, “It is a tradition, a culture, a norm or a ritual that each time you have a Sallah celebration, prominent people do visit the former President of this country, but I must clear the air by making a point.

“First of all, there is evidence of rallying of forces, regrouping of political forces from the North trying to use former President Buhari as a rally point in order to evict the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu."

PropertiesRe: Court Orders Bank To Refund ₦‎112.5 Million For Undervalued Sales Of Property by Konquest: 12:26am On Jul 18, 2024
FreeStuffsNG:
A Lagos High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, yesterday, ordered an old generation bank to refund to the beneficiaries of the estate of Otunba Adedoyin Ogunde N112.5million over the undervaluation and sale of their property located at Moore Road, Ikoyi.

Justice Ibironke Harrison gave the order while delivering judgment, in a suit filed by beneficiaries of the deceased Otunba Adedoyin’s estate over the bank’s gross undervaluation of his property and sale of the same on the account of his indebtedness to it.

In her judgment, Justice Harrison held that the sale of the deceased’s property at No. 6, Moore Road, Ikoyi, Lagos by the bank was in bad faith and that the property was grossly undervalued.

The court held that the fact that a customer owes a bank was no reason to fling the customer’s property at a ridiculous rate simply to realize the debt owed, adding that “sale at a price that is so low is evidence of fraud.”

In determining the duties of a mortgagee in the exercise of its power of sale, Justice Harrison held that “a mortgagee by law is entitled to exercise its right of sale over a mortgaged property when the Mortgagor has defaulted or failed to liquidate its outstanding indebtedness.

“The Legal obligation incumbent on the mortgagee when exercising its power of sale of the mortgaged property is to act in good faith. Once it is established that the mortgagee acted in good faith, the exercise of the power of sale cannot be impugned or impeached,” the court held.

Foreign AffairsRe: More Kenyan Police Deployed To Tackle Haiti Violence by Konquest: 11:20pm On Jul 17, 2024

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENIfcaoUkcE

Another 200 Kenyan police officers have arrived in Haiti under a United Nations-backed mission to try to quell rampant gang violence in the troubled Caribbean nation.

The new batch that arrived on Tuesday brings the total to 400 Kenyan boots on the ground in the violence-ravaged capital of Port-au-Prince, Haitian sources said.

The Kenyan contingent of what is shaping up to be a multinational mission has run into persistent legal challenges in Nairobi, where embattled President William Ruto is simultaneously trying to calm roiling antigovernment protests at home.

More Kenyans are expected to arrive in the coming weeks and months along with police and soldiers from the Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Chad and Jamaica for a total of 2,500 personnel.

The deployment was approved by a UN Security Council resolution in October, only to be delayed by a Kenyan court decision in January that ruled it unconstitutional.

The court said Ruto’s administration had no authority to send officers abroad without a prior bilateral agreement.

While the government secured that agreement with Haiti in March, a small opposition party, Thirdway Alliance Kenya, has filed a lawsuit in another attempt to block it.

The United States had been eagerly seeking a country to lead the mission and is supplying funding and logistical support.

President Joe Biden flatly ruled out putting US boots on the ground in Haiti.

Human Rights Watch has raised concerns about the Haiti mission and doubts over its funding, while watchdogs have repeatedly accused Kenyan police of using excessive force and carrying out unlawful killings.

I wish all the police contingents from the various countries the best as they try to return law and order to the streets Port-au-Prince and a few other Haitian cities.

The memories of the Haitian Revolution and the struggles against French plantation slavery must never be forgotten.

True that.

In addition, Latin American cuisines too would fit in nicely with the African taste buds. Foods from Cuban and Mexican restaurants in the U.S. for instance are not bad at all. You can always get to eat fried plantains in those restaurants because they eat a lot of tropical foods that Africans eat as well.

According to the national news brand, NNPCL and NIPCO Gas have forged a strategic alliance to increase the number of CNG stations in Nigeria as part of the Presidential CNG Initiative. Twelve of the 35 CNG stations that the partnership plans to build nationally were put into service last week in Lagos and Abuja.

Adding, the endeavour was a component of the government’s reaction to the notable surge in fuel prices, which shot up from N197 per litre to N617 per litre following President Tinubu’s announcement on May 29 of last year, hence driving up transportation expenses.

SOURCE:https://brandspurng.com/2024/07/16/fg-discloses-locations-for-free-conversion-of-diesel-powered-vehicles-to-cng/
This is impressive but coming a bit late. I made this suggestion last year about converting all food trucks and transportation vehicles to CNG for free for the owners which would then be repaid. Converting all food trucks that move interstate from North to South of Nigeria to CNG and removing all the insidious illegal checkpoints and levy collections from the highways would drastically drop the cost of food items and transportation for goods and services. Inflation would drop significantly.

This is much better than importing several tons of food items from abroad that would lead to the destruction of already existing agribusiness investments in the multimillion USD Nigerian rice milling industry and more.

It's good they are implementing this 7 months into 2024 especially with the new NNPC CNG refill stations that have been launched in multiple locations in Lagos and Abuja where CNG is sold at N200 per standard cubic feet and I have read testimonials of male and female drivers online who say that the CNG got from the Lagos NNPC CNG refill stations have led to massive savings for them... Better late than NEVER.

CrimeRe: FBI Arrests Kingsley Inegbedion For $1.5M Internet Fraud & Money Laundering by Konquest: 5:16am On Jul 17, 2024
nlfpmod:
arrests, charges Nigerian tech entrepreneur Inegbedion for $1.5 million Internet fraud, money laundering

Banks used for the fraud include HSBC, Citi Bank, Synovus Bank, Navy Federal Credit Union Truist Bank, Associated Credit Union and Georgia’s Own Credit Union.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations has filed a 16-count criminal indictment against Kingsley Inegbedion and Efemena Igbe over Internet fraud and money-laundering allegations of $1.5 million.

According to the FBI in the indictment filed on May 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, Messrs Inegbedion and Igbe perpetrated romance scams and business email compromise posing as legit businesses to defraud innocent American citizens between April 2020 and May 2023.

Mr Inegbedion, a network engineer who ran training programmes for aspiring tech workers in Atlanta, was known previously to law enforcement, documents said.

Some of the banks include HSBC, Citi Bank, Synovus Bank, Navy Federal Credit Union Truist Bank, Associated Credit Union and Georgia’s Own Credit Union.

“The sham corporate entities did not have physical premises, earn legitimate income, or pay wages to employees,” the FBI said in the indictment.

They asked victims to wire money to these accounts which appeared legit and quickly distributed the fraudulent funds into other accounts within and outside the U.S. in an attempt to conceal the fraud.

In February 2021, $50,120 was withdrawn from Camtech’s Navy Federal account number ending with 4893. Another $60,000 was withdrawn in June 2021 from the same bank, but a different account number ended with 4854, registered under Kingtech Global Auto.

The FBI also found a purchase of $160,000 cashier’s cheque #4817 from Kingtech’s Truist account ending with 0619 in September 2022, among other fraudulent transactions

At other times, the duo conspired with unknown persons who directed victims through emails and other means to pay into the fraudulent accounts.

Mr Igbe already fled to Nigeria after security agents invited him for questioning before the indictment was filed leaving Mr Inegbedion to answer and defend the charges preferred by the FBI.

The FBI is seeking a restitution of funds and forfeiture of property obtained through the fraud scheme to the U.S. government.

“Upon conviction of the offences alleged in counts one through sixteen of this indictment, the defendants, Efemena Igbe and Kingsley Inegbedion, shall forfeit to the United States of America, pursuant to Title 18, United States Code, Section 982(a)(1), any property, real or personal, involved in such offence, and any property traceable to such property including, but not limited to, a money judgement, that is, a sum of money in United States currency representing the amount of property involved in the offence,” said the FBI statement.

Shortly after the grand jury returned the indictment, Mr Inegbedion was picked up and remanded in custody.

TravelRe: My Havana Travel Experience by Konquest: 3:15am On Jul 17, 2024
edwonderz:
Havana Travel Experience Day 1

Welcome to Cuba, the largest Caribbean island by area. It was my first time visiting the Capital City, Havana, and I wasn't sure how best to explore it within such a short period of time.

When you travel to an unfamiliar place, you will likely face barriers to finding an authentic experience unless you choose a tour operator well-versed in cultural immersion. On the surface, travel is about seeing new places. But I want to know, what are the people of this unfamiliar place passionate about? What are their lives really like? I want to experience completely different cultures, cuisines and landscape for myself.

There I was, contemplating on how to best get an authentic taste of Havana.

Should I hop on a bus or walking tour? Oh, no, there is little one can see on foot, and the bus will take you to picturesque, but superficial locations. Bicycling could be a good option, but then, as I scanned my surroundings, there were no bike rental shops nearby. What do I want to do then? As minutes elapsed, I pondered upon these inane rhetorical questions, and resorted to the perfect solution. I grabbed my backpack, refilled my water bottle and made my way to the exit door.

"Your ID and passport please," the immigration officer inquired.

“Sure,” I replied. I tossed them over to the counter as she checked for my visa. After a few seconds, she returned my passport, smiled and handed them back to me. "You are good to go señor."

It is a rare moment to see an immigration officer wearing a smile abroad. She wasn't anything like the one immigration officer I met in Dubai airport. The look on his face shouted: “F*** this job, I don't need it! I don't know why the F*** I am here stamping passports. I should be in Burj Kalifa smoking shisha, or racing in the desert with one of my Lamborghinis or gold plated Ferraris. F*** this job!”

As soon as I was cleared by security, I threw in my headphones and selected a Camila Cabello song on the playlist. I swapped my sneakers for my roller blades, and voilá! I was standing 6.4ft tall. One of the security officers noticed me, "Señor, our roads are not the smoothest for skating, are you sure you want to use those?"

"Yes officer, I'll take precautions", I responded. "Your road can't be worse than Aba," I joked, thinking that would be enough validation of my skills. I grew up in Aba, an industrial city in the eastern part of Nigeria. Back then, there was not a single tarred road. If I could skate on gravel, mud and through the floods in Aba, then I can skate on any Cuban road. After all, my favourite skating quote is “Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey.”

Zooooom! I began gliding into the city, skating through every crib and corner while Camila Cabello was blasting into my ears “Havana oh na na, Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na na.” I was perplexed when some of the streets began to look too familiar. I had never been to Cuba before in my life. Soon I realised that I had seen those streets before; I was rolling on the very same streets and highways where the Fast and famous film was shot.

Havana looks exactly the same way it's portrayed in movies: old buildings, derelict houses, beautifully restored plazas. The buildings reflect the city's vibrant mix. Some streets are colourful, while others are more neutral and faded with age. Every street in Havana tells an interesting story. No street is the same. The residents custom of opening their homes into the streets completely moulded each road into it’s own unique streetscape.

I kept on gliding on my 10 wheeled speed skates until I was around 10km away from the cruise terminal. I knew I would be well away from tourists here, but unfortunately, I also knew that I wouldn't be able to trace my way back home on the same route. I was lost. Lost in a foreign country with a language that I neither spoke nor understood. But I showed no signs of panic; this is exactly what I wanted.

I made a stop in the middle of the street, and was thrilled by how ordinary Cubans go about their normal lives. Havana residents live out a large part of their lives on the streets. It's kind of a reality show out there all the time, much like life in Lagos mainland. No one is hiding. Everything is out in the open. Life is lived on the pavements. Rather then being indoors on the sofa discussing life over a cup of tea, they sit outside in plain sight. They gather in parks and on street corners, they gossip through open windows, and they sit comfortably in rocking chairs in the doorway. There were children playing, and customised bicycles waiting for passengers (tricycles are part of the transport system in Cuba).

At this point, I was exhausted from skating and my throat was feeling dry from dehydration. I checked into a local pub, and ordered myself an añejo rum. I settled down at the far end of the bar where I would have a good view of pedestrians, the streets and the ancient cars plying them.

As I sipped my rum, I wondered how all of the classical cars ended up in Cuba. The country is full of museum-worthy, old-school cars that would make any car enthusiast drool. These vintage and classic cars of Havana are a real treat! If you are a classic car buff, Cuba is just about the greatest place on the planet. It’s like one big car show, where autos from the 1940s and 1950s motor along the streets and highways. Most tourists love to visit Cuba for the wonderful experience of riding in a 1950 Cadillac, or one of the pretty coloured vintage cars.

Suddenly, a group of four people entered the pub in high spirits. After they purchased their drinks, they gestured towards me if they could join my company. I affirmed without hesitation.

“Hola, como estas amigos'?” I greeted them, with the only Spanish I knew. They nodded in response and sat with me as we introduced ourselves. They asked my whereabouts and other stuffs I didn't understand before I politely told them, “no habolo espanol” (I don't speak Spanish).

“Ah Americano?” they asked. No Nigerian. I told them.

“Ah Nigéria!” They exclaimed.

I adore Latinos and how the pronounce Nigeria. Latinos are very friendly, and they are the most happiest people I've ever met.

Luckily, a beautiful young lady in the group named Mariana, who barely spoke a word of English, volunteered to assist in translations. She began to interpret words for me using hand cues. Using our own version of sign language was quite fun and surprisingly, we understood each other easily. We had good conversation, talking about similar interests, cultures and life in Cuba.

Carlos, a middle-aged balding man, asked if I had ever smoked Cuban cigar before. I thought for a moment. Everyone is aware of Cuba being the Mecca of cigars. Cigars and Cuba are synonymous, much like France and wine. It's hard to think of Cuba and not think about cigars. I had always heard the hype about Cuban cigar being the best in the world. Maybe I should just try one and find out for myself, I pondered.

I placed my order. A few minutes later, my cigar arrived. I couldn't help my admiration of how stunning it appeared; the art of cigar rolling is exquisitely intricate. It was obvious that a lot of care and attention went into the making of each and every single cigar. It has been assumed that it takes over hundred steps to properly produce a single Cuban cigar. After seeing one in person, I believe it.

I lit it up, and as soon as I took the first puff, I felt like Pablo with the level of euphoria it took me to. Nothing can beat the fun you get by smoking freshly rolled aromatic Cuban Cigars. The best way to describe the taste of Cuban tobacco is very bold, earthy, and spicy. Only a Cuban cigar tastes like a Cuban cigar. All of the hype is true.

When we were all done smoking and drinking, Melissa, the youngest in the group in her mid twenties, suggested that we go dine out together. Latinos have a thing for beauty and are known for being beautiful. Melissa was living proof. I doubt if any contestant would ever match her physical appearance if she had the opportunity to contest for Miss World. Melissa proposed a restaurant that served a touristy rendition of local food, conveniently situated only a few blocks away from her house..... To be continued
Bump.

Lol, this is hilarious.

1. Abdulrazak Gurnah never made that statement.

2. This is what Ngugi wa Thiong'O said about Prof. Wole Soyinka:

“A writer and public intellectual, who has voiced his concerns over major happenings in different parts of the continent over the last fifty years and more, Soyinka has become the moral and democratic conscience of Africa”.
https://www.ayebia.co.uk/product/essays-in-honour-of-wole-soyinka-at-80/

3. When Black Orpheus was formed, no one knew it was a CIA project in their fight against communism, and it was just similar to all the American NGOs and Financial aids projects the US currently has in Nigeria (which are also CIA projects) - including the ones funding Rinu Oduala and Aisha Yesufu.

Rinu Oduala and Aisha Yesufu, the leaders of the Obidients project, are actually CIA babies hence they’re both in DC now. I saw a picture of Rinu in the White House last week - a picture worth a thousand words.

And Prof. Wole Soyinka wasn’t the only student who worked for Black Orpheus - Christopher Okigbo (arguably the most talented Igbo writer ever) was also part of the project.

I’m sorry, Igbos need to give up. Achebe just wasn’t talented enough to win the apex award in literature. And Chimamanda is pedestrian at best.

Soyinka won it due to his greatness and versatility. And he’s more anti-colonial than Achebe ever was and you can search YouTube for videos of what he said about British people.
Indeed... Nicely put.

I originally didn't want to make a post on this thread topic but I have to step in for posterity sake.

What you wrote up there is a complete FALSEHOOD! It shows that you and others are CLEARLY pushing the same very dangerous FABRICATION of history and LIES that have already been thrashed out and debunked on an NL Frontpage post made by a dishonest Ibo supporter of Peter Obi here on NL in April 2023.

As a man who was alive and fully aware of events in 1986 when Professor Wole Soyinka became the FIRST African to win the Nobel Prize (1986 was the same year the iconic British-Nigerian, Folasade Adu, CBE, OR 'Sade Adu became the FIRST Nigerian-born person to win a Grammy Award. She was born in Ibadan to an Ikere-Ekiti Economics Professor father and a White English nurse as a mother), NO group of African writers EVER agreed to boycott the Nobel Prize. Therefore there was NO betrayal OR sabotage of ANYBODY on the part of Prof. Soyinka like you have FALSELY claimed here!

1] Abdulrazak Gurnah who won a Nobel Prize in 2021 (after Wole Soyinka had won it in 1986) NEVER made the FALSE statement being credited to him and being pushed online claiming the Nobel Prize wasn't special or condemned Soyinka as alleged by ethnic bigots. Since 1901 when it was first awarded, ONLY 6 Africans or Africa-born international writers in total have won the Nobel Prize which the iconic Prof. Wole Soyinka FIRST won! The 6 African writers that have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature since it was FIRST awarded in 1901 are: Wole Soyinka (1986), Naguib Mahfouz (1988), Nadine Gordimer (1991), J.M. Coetzee (2003), Doris Lessing (2007), Abdulrazak Gurnah (2021).

2] The great Kenyan writer, Ngugi wa Thiong'O (who the highly irresponsible young people peddling this FAKE story about Ngugi wa Thiong'O being one of those who are against Soyinka for accepting the 1986) said the words right BELOW about Prof. Wole Soyinka on his 80th birthday in the book entitled "Essays In Honor of Wole Soyinka at 80":

“A writer and public intellectual, who has voiced his concerns over major happenings in different parts of the continent over the last fifty years and more, Soyinka has become the moral and democratic conscience of Africa.”

3] https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/literature/1986/summary/
Excerpts from the 1986 Nobel Prize Press Release/Citation on Prof. Oluwole Soyinka
The collection of poems A Shuttle in the Crypt shows real moral stature. The poems were written during the writer’s two years in prison, to which he was sent because of his attitude in his country’s civil war. They are poems about mental survival, human contact, anger and forgiveness. The same experiences lie behind his prose work The Man Died: Prison Notes, which in itself is a literary work of the first rank.

Linguistically too Soyinka stands out as excellent. He possesses a prolific store of words and expressions which he exploits to the full in witty dialogue, in satire and grotesquery, in quiet poetry and essays of sparkling vitality.

Wole Soyinka’s writing is full of life and urgency. For all its complexity it is at the same time energetically coherent.

"LEGITIMATE UNIVERSITY FRATERNITY"
Second, the younger 'Wole Soyinka and a few of his University friends making a total of 7 of them created a fraternity that was LEGITIMATE and well-known to the University authorities in Ibadan. [b]Fraternities are legitimate organizations on most University campuses worldwide and many U.S. Presidents (such as the 3 Yale University grads like George H.W. Bush and his son George W. Bush jr), including world leaders of today and yesteryear were college or Uni fraternity members. Some popular Fraternities such as Yale University's Skull and Bones, Yale University's Delta Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Phi Alpha, Beta Theta Pi, Kappa Sigma, are very popular. The Pirates Fraternity (National Association of Seadogs) that Prof. Wole Soyinka co-founded with 6 others as youths at the elite University College, Ibadan, then part of the University of London in 1952 is completely different from the vicious, criminal campus gangs that arise from the 1980s which YOU and your fellow Ibos and some others WRONGLY call "campus cultists" here on this thread and other online platforms just to FALSELY accuse Wole Soyinka of being the founder!

As a personal witness to some events that happened within the Uni environment back in the early 1980s, the campus gang menace started gaining momentum in the later part of the early 1980s and blasted off right with vicious violence from the military era of Ibrahim Babangida started in 1985. Prior to that, these gangs saw how the LEGITIMATE Pirates Fraternity (National Association of Seadogs) was well organized and respected by the students and Uni authorities, so, these deviant students copied some elements of the structure of the respected campus fraternities so as to cover up their tracks, but in actual sense, these were just criminal campus gangs (just like you have neighborhood gangs). This is how the campus gangs (otherwise called pseudo-fraternities) were formed. Professor Wole Soyinka had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the creation of these criminal campus gangs OR "pseudo-fraternities," so, it's absolutely absurd disrespectful to history for you and the mainly younger Ibos here on this thread to continue to FALSELY accuse Prof. Soyinka of being the founder of "cultism." Soyinka's Pirates Fraternity was a well-known, legitimate and RESPECTED group on the University College campus back in Ibadan in the 1950s and had NOTHING to do with criminal gang violence like you people are peddling here.

Last but NOT least, that "man-boy" called David Hundeyin who was born in the early 1990s was EXPELLED with another student accomplice of his for academic and financial fraud from Oxford University in England in early 2023! He too posted a FAKE X post (coincidentally in early 2023 around the time he was EXPELLED by Oxford University) repeating this same worn-out and insane lies of African writers' alleged boycott of the Nobel Prize with the FALSE narrative of Wole Soyinka allegedly betraying them by collecting the 1986 Nobel Prize [1986 was before MANY of those shamelessly peddling this same FAKE STORY online and offline were born].

You people have to remember that everything in this world is based on the laws of cause-and-effect where you will REAP the consequences of your actions in your current life and NO amount of prayers or prodding a God later for "forgiveness" will save you from the effects. Many are living a dissatisfied life today and do NOT realize that their ethnic bigotry, hate speeches, evil intentions, words, and actions are behind their current bad status OR distressing personal, financial, and social situations. They will learn the hard way.

Bump.

That's interesting. That Northern Enugu axis of the proposed Adada State has a lot of Igala ancestral influence or Igala presence going back to the period starting from 500 years ago.

=>https://dailytrust.com/500-years-of-igalas-in-enugu/
29 Jan 2017 — The Igala people who in the 17th Century were believed to have migrated from Angwa in Idah area of the present Kogi State, can be found in their millions spread and settled in several Local Government Areas of Enugu State. You may find them in places such as Uzo-Uwani, Nsukka, Igbo-Eze South, Enugu East, Enugu-Ezike, Oguje, Okuto, Ete, Igbo-Eze North, among others. And they are quick to tell you how proud they are of their roots, although quite a good number of them have, sadly, lost what used to be their main language (Igala). They have now stuck to Igbo as their general language. But over the years, the Igala people of Enugu have preserved certain shared cultures and values which they have in common with their counterparts in Idah, Kogi State. Even up till tomorrow, the historical and cultural links give the Enugu Igala man and the Kogi Igala person a sense of oneness and brotherhood which, they strongly believe, time and age can hardly destroy, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered.

A First Republic politician from Igga in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Nsukka Senatorial District of Enugu State, and former commissioner for Industry/Local Government in old Anambra State, Chief Maximus I. Ukuta, himself an Igala man, provides an insight into the existence of Igala in Enugu State.

=>https://dailytrust.com/igala-footprints-in-enugu/
28 Aug 2022 — Ukuta sheds light on the widespread Igala influence in the Nsukka area of Enugu State, covering areas such as similarities in names of plants and foods. “The entire Nsukka zone is predominantly Igala. Most of their traditions are Igala traditions. The names they bear are Igala names… They call pepper akpoko. Akpoko is an Igala word for pepper.
In an interview with Daily Trust on Sunday, he said: “strictly speaking, there is no Igala settlement in Nsukka and Enugu-Ezike.

The people of Nsukka are extracts of Igalas. I mean the whole Nsukka, and that’s why Nsukka is referred to as Nsukka-Asadu-Ideke-Alumona. Both Asadu-Ideke and Alumona are Igala people that came in early and set up the place.

Foreign AffairsRe: Trump Breaks Silence On Assassination Attempt: 'i'm Not Supposed To Be Here" by Konquest: 7:03am On Jul 16, 2024
AImiron:
Former President Trump is now breaking his silence on the assassination attempt against him during a rally on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania.

I’m not supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be dead," Trump told the New York Post. "I’m supposed to be dead."

"The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this, he called it a miracle," Trump also told the newspaper onboard his private plane while heading to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for this week’s Republican National Convention. "By luck or by God, many people are saying it’s by God I’m still here."

Trump told the Post that had he not turned his head slightly to the right to read a chart on illegal immigration, the bullet that grazed him would have been fatal.

He described the Secret Service agents that rushed at him like "linebackers," mentioning another one eliminated the gunman with "one shot right between the eyes."

"They did a fantastic job," he told the Post. "It’s surreal for all of us.

As Secret Service agents rushed Trump off the stage, he was heard saying he wanted to get his shoes.

"The agents hit me so hard that my shoes fell off, and my shoes are tight," he explained to the Post.

Trump, reacting to images of him raising his fist and being surrounded by Secret Service agents in the seconds following the shooting, said, "A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen."

They’re right and I didn’t die. Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture," he added. "I just wanted to keep speaking, but I just got shot."

Trump also told the New York Post that he appreciated the "fine" and "very nice" call he received from President Biden in the aftermath of the event, noting – without specifics – that the race between them could be more civil going forward.

He praised his rally audience for staying calm during the entire incident.

A lot of places … you hear a single shot, everybody runs. Here there were many shots and they stayed," Trump said. "I love them. They are such great people."

I'm glad he didn't lose his life otherwise it would have TRIGGERED a serious insurrection or Civil War in the U.S. with Rethuglican lone wolves targeting some prominent Dems for assasination. However I don't think the photograph of him raising his fist is iconic enough.

TAO11:
The ‘ADA’ (See Frame-1):
The claim nowadays by Binis (Edos) that this royal emblem originated with them is exposed as a falsehood by linguistics and archaeology.
.
.
As per the linguistic evidence, the verb ‘dá’ (in ‘àdá’) is “to split”, as well as “to judge” as can be seen in the Yoruba dictionary. See Frame-2

Though these two meanings appear different, they actually both have semantic connection.

At the very center of ‘judging’ is the concept of ‘separating’ the truth from untruths, the wheat from the chaff, (the head from the body), etc.

Thus, ‘àdá’ literally signifies “the splitter”. The royal significance of this is therefore that:

The possession of this emblem by a royal does confer on them certain authority to pronounce judgements — including that of life and death.

This Àdá has, for this reason, been translated by some as “Sword of Justice”. See Frame-3.

It is only in Yoruba language that ‘àdá’ finds its literal and etymological derivation which also aligns with the royal significance of the object.
.
.
The archaeological evidence of the Ifẹ̀ roots of the royal Àdá consist of a classical-era carving of a royal Àdá on a living-rock at Agídí site, Ifẹ̀.

Refer to Frame-4 for a photograph of the Àdá petroglyph. (From: Frank Willett, 2004:S145).

This is the earliest hard evidence of this object from anywhere within Nigeria. This fact as well as the etymological roots do reaffirm Ifẹ̀ as the origin and source of the royal Àdá emblem.

BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery To Import Crude Oil From Brazil by Konquest: 2:32pm On Jul 15, 2024
dre11:
Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to import a cargo of Brazilian crude, Bloomberg is reporting.

On Friday, the publication said this adds to the large number of overseas barrels of crude feedstock that Nigeria is importing.

According to traders with knowledge of the matter, Dangote refinery, which is still ramping up to full capacity, will receive a shipment of one million barrels of Tupi crude from Brazil for delivery in the second half of next month.

“The refinery, billed as pivotal in ending Nigeria’s dependence on foreign fuel, has already snapped up millions of barrels of American crude,” the publication said.

“The purchases of non-Nigerian barrels likely reflect the most competitively priced, suitable cargoes.”

The traders said the cargo was sold by Petrobras, a state-owned Brazilian multinational corporation.

Bloomberg said officials at the company, and one at Dangote, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Quoting data from the Latin American country’s commerce ministry, the publication said it is the first time that Brazil has exported oil to Nigeria.

On July 11, Dangote refinery purchased five million barrels of US crude scheduled for delivery next month and in September.

In May, the refinery planned a purchase of 24 million barrels of crude from the US for over a year.

This clip proves that the shooting was planned.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t9Qc3MOPww?si=QLtfY37k2m1MbP-c
Just to be clear, I like all the angles the dude in the video brought to the fore.

Now, I've been following all the major news networks online and offline since the so-called attempted assassination and I can CLEARLY say without a shadow of doubt that this WASN'T an inside job by the Dems.

The 20-year-old was indeed acting as a LONE WOLF in all of this from all the initial evidence available.

First off, his high school buddies who have been interviewed in the media clearly stated that while in school before they graduated from high school 2 years ago, Thomas Mathew Crook was heavily bullied and he usually kept a lot to himself as a result of that. This definitely contributed to his depressive state and this ties in with what the gentleman said in the video that both his parents are licenced counsellors who may have given him the antidepressants or SSRI prescriptions which is used for treating depression and is the common denominator in ALL the cases of mass shootings in the United States in the last 10 years starting with the Columbine Heights shooting incident. Those antidepressants also have some side effects and so require proper monitoring by qualified health practitioners.

Second, there was indeed a CLEAR evidence of a delayed or slow response by a few seconds of members of the Secret Service who had seen the boy in their sights climbing the roof top with a ladder and he should have been immobilized much sooner before he shot the bullets from his rifle.

Also, there's a lot of info on how to make "b*mbs" and other explosive devices on the Internet so it's NOT rocket science that a 20-year-old would have access to that kind of stuff hidden in his parents house and in the car. We must not lose sight of the FACT that Cook was depressed from being heavily bullied while in high school and was extremely reclusive according to school buddies.

Final verdict: This is a case of a young White Caucasian lone wolf who in my opinion has been through a lot of emotional struggles in the recent past. The Dems have nothing to do with this attempted assassination.

P.S. Suicide risk and antidepressants
Most antidepressants are generally safe, but the FDA requires that all antidepressants carry black box warnings, the strictest warnings for prescriptions. In some cases, children, teenagers and young adults under 25 may have an increase in suicidal thoughts or behavior when taking antidepressants, especially in the first few weeks after starting or when the dose is changed.

Anyone taking an antidepressant should be watched closely for worsening depression or unusual behavior. If you or someone you know has suicidal thoughts when taking an antidepressant, immediately contact your doctor or get emergency help.

Keep in mind that antidepressants are more likely to reduce suicide risk in the long run by improving mood.
