The Nigerian government said the era of buying Premium Motor Spirit, known as fuel between N750 to N1000 per liter, is over as it will commission 30,000 Compressed Natural Gas powered vehicles in the next 90 days.

The Project Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, Michael Oluwagbemi, disclosed this during the Park to Park CNG Mobilisation program held at the Ojota Park in Lagos on Saturday.

He said the initiative is expected to gulp N36 billion for 30,000 CNG conversion kits for distribution free of charge nationwide within the period.

The kits and the conversion costs were valued at the rate of N1.2m per vehicle, making a total of N36bn within the next three months.

He stressed that the move was to ensure the adoption of CNG as an alternative fuel for transportation.

“Today, we are here with conversion kits. We have bought over 30,000 of these kits, mainly for distribution in the next 90 days.

“The President has told us that this is not just to end with 30,000 kits, the target is one million kits. We want to make sure all of you can benefit from this government initiative,” he stated.

“The era of buying N750, N800, or N1,000/liter fuel is over. We are not doing that again. We will start using the gas under our feet so that we can buy it at N230/kg,” he stated.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had ordered all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to procure CNG-powered vehicles as palliative to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

The Lagos State government on Tuesday hinted that it has commenced moves to introduce about 2, 000 Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, buses into the state before the end of 2024.

Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi disclosed this at the commencement of the 2024 ministerial briefing on the activities of the ministry in the administration of Governor Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, held at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Osiyemi also said the state government is set to launch about 231 electric vehicles by the end of June, 2024.

According to Osiyemi, the state government is already engaging a private company on the acquisition of the CNG buses which will be distributed in two phases of 1,000, scheduled to be introduced by the end of 2024.

He explained that measure was part of efforts to alleviate the effects of fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government on the residents.

“We are also looking at introducing about 231 electric vehicles on our road to complement the existing fleet of vehicles, using diesel and petrol,” Osiyemi stated.

The Commissioner added that the initiative was targeted at delivering cheaper, safer and more climate-friendly energy to residents and Nigerians in general.

Donald Trump donated to Kamala Harris twice while she was a candidate for California attorney general, according to public records available on the California secretary of state's website.

Records show that Trump donated a total of $6,000 to Harris: $5,000 in 2011 and $1,000 in 2013. He made both donations while he was a private citizen.

His daughter Ivanka Trump also donated $2,000 to Harris in 2014, records show.

Trump launched his first presidential bid in 2015. Harris served as California's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 before her election to the US Senate.

Trump could now face Harris in a general election for the US presidency after President Joe Biden, Trump's presumptive 2024 Democratic opponent, ended his reelection bid on Sunday. Harris, Biden's vice president, is now widely viewed as a top contender for the Democratic nomination.

The Washington Examiner reported in 2019 that Trump had said in an affidavit that he made the $5,000 donation at the request of New York's attorney general at the time, Eric Schneiderman.

"Mr. Schneiderman's former transition committee leader asked my daughter Ivanka if she would arrange for me to make a contribution to a fundraising event sponsored by Mr. Schneiderman for newly elected California Attorney General Kamala Harris," Trump wrote in the affidavit. "In response, I made a $5,000 contribution to Ms. Harris' campaign — the highest level of sponsorship listed in the invitation — and Ivanka attended the event together with some of Trump Org.'s other top executives."

A Harris spokesperson told The Sacramento Bee that in 2015 she donated the money Trump gave her campaign to a nonprofit group that helps Central Americans.

In 2020, Trump's senior advisor Katrina Pierson told PBS NewsHour's Yamiche Alcindor that the president had "donated to candidates across all aisles" and that she hoped his donation to Harris, as a Black woman, could "squash this racism argument now."

Trump's history of donating to Harris — and other Democratic candidates — first resurfaced in 2020 after Biden tapped Harris to be his running mate.

On Sunday, following mounting pressure from Democratic politicians and donors, Biden dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee.

"I am honored to have the president's endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination," she said in a statement.

Trump released a statement on Truth Social on Sunday calling Harris "just as much of a joke as Biden is" and criticizing what he called her "liberal, weak-on-crime record" in California.

As to the border, which is something I didn't know, most of the issues with immigration are because of our asylum law. [b]The US has a law that allows anyone that comes to a port of entry the ability to file asylum. And, because the system is a bit antiquated and the people have to be processed to determine whether they will get asylum and be able to stay, it takes a while. So people are let into the US, allowed to stay "temporarily" with court dates because there is no where to house them. Some of those court dates takes years. Now, because it takes a while, it's incentive for people to come to the US and try their luck and seek fake "asylums". But all this is legal as the immigrants have a right under US law to seek asylum. But, the recent bill Biden tried to get passed changed the rules of asylum, making it harder to claim asylum unless under more stringent criteria. It also gave more power to the border agents to do the initial screening. It added more personal to reduce the processing time to I think 60 days instead of years and shut down the border after a certain amount of people have tried to cross whether they are admitted or not. All that would decrease immigration as the incentive is gone.[/b] The Republicans didn't want to pass that law because Trump thought immigration would help him. So, at this point it has to be about more effective messaging.
Also, someone did a study. Immigrants generally commit lower crime than the Us citizens. Also the crime rate I believe is lower now than under Trump.

But that was my issue with Biden. His messaging. And something I hope Kamala will be better on. Republicans get away with seeding lies, and those lies become fact. Ex. Biden's son Hunter. I'm kind of upset that he didn't fight back when they went after him. A friend of mine brought up Hunter Biden recently. Someone who should be in the know. He had know idea Hunter Biden was a Yale Law Grad. Was an adjunct professor at Georgetown, was on the boards of major companies like Banks and was even appointed to be on the board of Amtrak by George Bush. My friend thought Hunter was some bum just using his family name based on all the Republican misinformation. Joe Biden didn't push back and didn't allow Hunter to and Hunter may spend time in jail because if it. Anyhow, my point is we are in a new era with the speed of the spread and depth of misinformation. Dems have to be quicker at pushing back or they cede the space to lies.

I respect what Biden did. It takes strength to give up power. Look at Trump. Biden has always stuttered. There are techniques to correct it which get harder to do when you are tired or stressed. Impressive that he kept it in line for the most part. Age is catching up to him and as it's clear he's slowed down significantly from last year. But the Presidency is an exhausting job as well, and wears most people down quickly. Look at Obama before and after his presidency. I say most, because it only does if you actually do work unlike Trump who looked the same. I just thought he couldn't do another 4 years at that pace of a president at his age.

I don't think the polling is too useful right now. Trump is a known entity. He has a ceiling for his support. But Kamala isn't as yet. She may have a change to change those numbers. Will get a better picture as she campaigns more.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TRUMP?
Trump so far has only released a limp listed video attacking Harris for her laughter and the situation at the border. Donald Trump very much preferred to run against Biden. Having to face Harris complicates a lot for Trump.

Trump a known racists will struggle to not make racial attacks against Kamala. He cannot help himself but make racist attacks. This will drive more voters away from him.

The overturn of Roe vs Wade by supreme court judges Trump appointed, already has women all over America furious. These women will come out massively for Harris. Trump knows this that is why at the recent RNC convention, he made sure every anti-abortion rhetoric was eliminated.

Harris is 55 and Trump is 78. All the insults Trump has been hurling against Biden due to his age, will now turn a sharp focus on Trump. He can't keep his thoughts together nor follow his statements in a way that makes sense. Trump is also suffering from dementia. He has refused to allow any of his medical reports be released.

Harris was a prosecutor. She will be able to hammer home the fact that Trump is a convicted felon. That will not be a good look for trump. Will the US elect a criminal into office? Time will tell.

Overall, this election will be the most consequential in American history.

We've made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We've provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. AmIerica has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.

I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We've protected and preserved our Democracy. And we' ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.

I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.

I've been meaning to write this for some time but keep procrastinating. But something happened recently that made me decide to write this today, I'll keep it short and straight to the point.

A friend of mine met this slim, tall, pretty girl and they've been getting along real good. But the girl is always very active in church, and I mean very active. She goes to church almost every day. After work, it's straight to the church whether there's service or not she must find an excuse to go.

Omo, it was a big red flag for me but I didn't say anything to my guy even though he's complaining about it to me. She practically neglect her own life. This church has like 4 services and she attends all 4 and still hang around afterwards, and also follow the pastor and his family back to their house to help with chores.

She entered one chance vehicle one night after her pastor kept her busy in the church until almost midnight and she got robbed of everything and flung out of the speeding car. She treated the injuries for over two months and she stayed without a phone until my guy eventually bought her a phone. Not a dime from the pastor

They'll be together and immediately she receives a call from pastor she gets up like a robot and leaves no matter what. Her excuse is that she's a worker in the church so she can't abandon her role (are you the only worker in that church??)

On her WhatsApp status, it's always pastor pastor pastor , never has she posted her guy's face on her status

She's always broke, not even a dime in her name and I'm pretty sure where all her salary is going... Church. She'll collect money from my guy to fulfill her pledge in church and goes back to being broke. It was so bad, I can keep going on and on.

Recently my guy jokingly told her about marriage and guess what she said, that he would follow her to her pastor, he's the one who will tell her if she should go ahead with the marriage or not. Omo e off me

She said because she doesn't want to make a mistake and marry wrong person and most people are in wrong marriage because they didn't consult their spiritual fathers blah blah blah

I laughed at my guy and told him point blank to dump her as$$ because even if pastor managed to approve, they'll give him conditions and still force him to join the church and the pastor will have a say in every aspect of the marriage. Her father is alive and she doesn't mention him at all, it's only pastor that makes all the decisions. It's a big turn off.

I've made up my mind that I'll scrutinize any girl I want to marry very well and see if she has this bad trait in her before I proceed.
