ogododo:The United States of America, Spain, France, South Korea, Angola, Togo, Guinea, Belgium, Israel, and Singapore, have been listed as the top 10 importers of petroleum products from Nigeria’s $20 billion Dangote Refinery. This is even as students across tertiary institutions in the country under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have passed a vote of confidence on the Dangote Refinery. However, the products that have been shipped to the countries at different times include fuel oil, gasoline, jet fuel and Naphtha, thus attracting additional foreign exchange to the nation. Speed Painting, like medicine, leaves no room for error — Dr. Ojeabuo, A Speed Painter0:01 / 1:07 In its presentation – Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery – What it Means for Trade Flows and Price Benchmarks, at a recent virtual event, obtained by Vanguard, Argus Group, United Kingdom, disclosed that the refinery has changed the direction of petroleum products trade flows between West Africa and other regions while creating many multiplier effects, including jobs. Nigeria’s fuel importation to drop 60% to 160,000 bpd It noted that as a result of the coming onstream of the refinery, Nigeria’s petrol importation has been projected to drop by 60 per cent to the equivalent of 160,000 barrels per day, b/d by 2025, from 400,000 b/d in 2023. The forecast has it that Nigeria would need to import only 75,000 b/d in 2025 compared to 350,000 b/d in 2023, adding that from 2026, it will start to import more following the expected population growth and rising domestic demand. Nigeria to export diesel, jet-kerosine from 2025 According to Argus Group, the nation is also expected to start exporting diesel and aviation fuel from 2025, thus enhancing the inflow of additional foreign exchange into Nigeria. It stated: “After years of anticipation, Nigeria’s 650,000 b/d Dangote refinery has been ramping up operations since the start of 2024, including loading regular refined product cargoes. “The scale of the refining operation, in a region that has produced a lot of crude historically but refined little of it, will change global product trade flows and require new price benchmarking solutions for the West African market. ”Nigeria will go from an almost 400,000 b/d net import (short) position in 2023 to 160,000 b/d net export (long) position in 2025. “Gasoline remains short, but the country will need to import just 75,000 b/d in 2025 compared to 350,000 b/d in 2023. From 2026 onwards net gasoline short however will start growing again and by 2040 it is forecast to be 220,000 b/d. “Diesel flips from short to long, with the country able to export 130,000 b/d in 2025, and maintaining exports of above 100,000 b/d throughout the forecast period. Jet-kerosine surplus of around 20,000 – 30,000 b/d for most of the forecast period. But overall, by 2035, due to forecast strong demand growth, Nigeria’s total net export position is eroded, and by 2040, is 120,000 b/d net short.” Sector gasps for continuous investment The organization harped on the need for continuous investment in the midstream and downstream sectors, adding “West Africa’s net import position more than halves in 2025 but net short grows again from 2026 onwards and out to 2040. ”But the net import position will start rising again as soon as 2026, and then steadily increase out to 2040 at 1 million b/d, with gasoline 500,000 b/d short, diesel 300,000 b/d and jet 100,000 b/d. Dangote refinery timeline.” NANS backs Dangote On its part, speaking after a tour of the Refinery, NANS Senate President, Akinteye Babatunde Afiz, said: “We had a meeting on the situation in the country vis a vis the uncertainty in the oil and gas industry, especially the current fuel scarcity and we resolved to visit Dangote refinery to see things for ourselves. “Having gone round the facility, our heart melted at the humongous size of the refinery. “We have seen the refinery laboratory and we could see that it is world-class. We can’t allow this type of project that holds great potential for Nigeria’s economy to go down.” Also, the Vice-President, Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin while welcoming the student leaders to the Refinery thanked them for their concern for the facility and their resolve to stand for the truth by rejecting the monetary inducement. He told the students that President Tinubu had intervened and commended the President for the directive for crude to be sold to Dangote Refinery in Naira currency, saying it is a good development for all Nigerians.” We receive repeated orders — Magt President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, had revealed that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has continued to receive repeated orders for its products from all those who have purchased the same since the commencement of production. The refinery has so far exported its products to some European countries, Singapore and offshore Lome. Speaking during a tour of both Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals and the Dangote Fertiliser Limited complex by members of the House of Representatives, Dangote, said: ”We produce the best diesel in Nigeria. It is disheartening that instead of safeguarding the market, the regulator is undermining it. “Our doors are open for the regulator to conduct tests on our products anytime; transparency is paramount to us. It would be beneficial for the regulator to showcase its laboratory to the world so Nigerians can compare. Our interest is Nigeria first because if Nigeria doesn’t grow, we have limited capacity for growth.” |
aswani:They (Ibos of the South East) are the ones relentlessly calling for a separation from other Nigerians and first started the use of hash tag "IgboMustGo." They even gave themselves a timeframe for relocating from especially Lagos State yet they are still in Lagos. So, yes, they will still be all over other regions like you stated but the time will come when Nigeria will come full cycle and independent countries or alliances will emerge like in the former Soviet Union and regulated entries and exits will take place. For a few of them from the SE, they would have permanent residence being married to Yoruba folks and they would come in and out of the new "Yoruba country" or "Edo country," etc, but their numbers would reduce because of restricted entries and exits that would require visas to apply if ECOWAS membership is not going to be in effect. Or like Ghana does, you have to have a specific amount of investment funds for you to invest in Ghana as a business person. |
COFFINSELLER:Gazette is highly notorious for embellishing people's words during interviews and headline sensationalism time and time again. A deft defamation suit in court will reset the brains of those guys working in that insidious organization. I don't take them seriously here because Prince Dapo Abiodun couldn't have used such unguarded language. But I'll look for the full video interview to get a hang of what Abiodun said. |
derecho:Get a grip of your emotions. That word "daft" is a rude language to use on Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was a senior banker and rose to the position of a Treasurer in the banking sector. A Treasurer is a high position in the banking sector, so, you can't call Sanwo-Olu "daft" regardless of your anger. He also was the head of the highly effective Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) before he even became a Governor of Lagos State. I'm aware that Lagos is gearing up to launch 500 CNG and electric buses for mass transportation in a few weeks so that would further drop the cost of transportation and food haulage from farms to the markets since CNG is sold at the new NNPC CNG refill stations launched in Lagos State since May 30, 2024 at N200 per standard cubic feet. Those vehicle owners who have already converted to CNG are already enjoying cheaper CNG fuel which is way cheaper than PMS. |
Ironbull:I agree with you there. I saw a news report yesterday from the Presidency that the Nigerian President has issued an immediate directive to NNPC to supply Dangote Petrochemical Refinery with crude oil directly and even the government has offered since last month to do a free CNG conversations for all NURTW vehicle in Nigeria at designated centers so that would enable vehicles to buy CNG at N200 per standard cubic feet which is way cheaper than buying PMS. Dangote too will start PMS production in August 2024 so there should be enough PMS before the end of August. There are 6 new NNPC CNG refill stations in Lagos already since May 30, 2024 and vehicles that have converted to CNG are already benefiting from the cheap CNG. If this is fully implemented, the cost of transportation of food items in trucks and humans in buses will drop sharply and drugs too will witness massive reductions. If CNG circulates all over Nigeria, and price control is introduced to tie in with reduction in transportation from CNG, then life will be good again for Nigerians. Dangote can still export the refined PMS abroad to earn FX and that will make the Naira stringers and conserve FX for the government as savings from NOT importing fuel again. |
toneroforever:Yes, I was also curious about the staggered Oro festival but I got to realize that every kingdom in Lagos State has a unique date for an Oro ceremony or based on Ifa divination through the Babalawos (Babalawos are otherwise called Ifa priests), an emergency Oro ceremony can be convened to cleanse the lands. So, sometimes it's fixed but at other times it can be impromptu. As long they do not harm folks and do their ceremonies overnight till early morning as usual, that should be fine. In Japan, China, India, Myanmar, etc, these folks are still in tune with their centuries-old cultures and are in sync with modernity, so, I would respect their right of choice. I woman in her 60s who is from Ukwuani in Delta State but born and based in Lagos told me that they have the same type of "Oro" ceremony in her hometown and she is okay with it because it also take place overnight. That was quite revealing. All the best. |
Ironbull:Well, normally all Nigerian folks are supposed to be fully involved in non-violent protests but it what it is. Ibos online especially on NL and X like to boast and pretend like they are NOT affected by the economy in Nigeria but they are seriously affected and this is why you will see that many of the Nairaland thread topics lamenting and cursing over the economy and feeding are Ibos, yet they will be "packaging" and bragging and making inciting posts urging mayhem while they stay muted in their own region but protest in Abuja and PH. Conversely though, ever since the 1989 anti-SAP protests and riots which I witnessed and which was led by gallant Uni students such as those from Unilag, Uniben, and human rights activists during the Ibrahim Babangida years, I have come to realize that protests in Lagos State and subsequently other parts of Nigeria easily turn violent. Ibrahim Babangida's son, Muhammed was a student of Unilag then, but it was after the anti-SAP protests that Babangida sent him to continue his studies abroad. Even the June 12 election annulment protests and struggles turned violent with more than 200 protesters brutally gunned down in Lagos State in one single day in 1993 by the military guys. A Journalist who was in the midst of the gun shots and dead people on the floor gave that account. |
toneroforever:This is an authoritative information... It's a coincidence that Oro is taking place at this time which clashes with the so-called protests. There's NO political undertone. Your post is VERY MISLEADING and disrespectful of other people's centuries-old cultures. Always try to find out the reason for things before jumping to conclusions on a public forum where people can easily be misled by your post. I myself had to find out more about Oro as is practiced in all the more than 50 kingdoms in Lagos State, so as to get a proper hang of the cultures of the Yoruba people who are the indigenes of Lagos State (the Ijebus, Aworis, and Ogus) who also have Ijebu, Awori, and Ogu kinsmen and lands spilling right across the Lagos and Ogun States borders. If Xmas takes place on December 25 and 10 days of economic protests clash with the Xmas/holiday season, would you FALSELY accuse Christians politicians of political manipulations for the Xmas celebrations? |
Ironbull:Are you sure that moniker (SJ) you quoted is a Yoruba girl? I don't think so. The newly created moniker looks more like an impostor claiming to be a Yoruba female based on the post history. There are many of those monikers here on NL and other online platforms such as X, Facebook, IG, with catfish accounts, some claiming to be from one ethnic group while actually being from another ethnic group. NL is particularly notorious here because anyone can register a new NL account in 2 minutes with a free throwaway email and start using it for trolling and dissemination of hate speech. By the way, Ibos from the South East are fully involved in the protests in other parts of Nigeria especially in PH, Abuja and contiguous areas or states and I have seen the videos of some of them making demands from the government (with one of them calling for the reversal of fuel to N100 per liter and the re-introduction of fuel subsidy which even Atiku and Peter Obi said they were gonna remove. In the South East, the protest is muted and that's exactly what happened during the Occupy Nigeria anti-fuel subsidy removal protests in 2012 when the South East traders got some knocks for going about with their trading activities while citizens from other parts of Nigeria fought against the abrupt plans to remove fuel subsidy WITHOUT the operations from any new refineries on ground during the GEJ administration. The green refinery the GEJ administration with Ms. Diezani Agama as the Petroleum Minister said would be built was ÑEVER built till 2015 when GEJ left office. |
SisterJolade:The meaning of your moniker name is "let wealth come." Second, why are you using a Yoruba name when you're NOT of Yoruba descent? Your post history shows you've been all over the place cursing, huffing and puffing from one thread to another. |
Sagacity10:Your first two paragraphs are succinctly stated. |
DevilsEqual:These groups of Nigerians are irritatingly far WORSE than the politicians they love to guilt-trip and complain about. "Money doesn't change a man, it ONLY amplifies what is already there." So, if these ones stumble on some appreciable rise in income, they would end up stealing from the coffers of government or the private establishment they work for. A group of criminals claiming to be protesters in Edo State raided a church-owned warehouse and stole many bags of rice which Edo State donated to the church to distribute to the underprivileged, while yelling that the rice belongs to them. That was such an asinine behavior from those Edo-based rice looters who were definitely aided by some insiders to loot the bags of rice. |
okoloto:If Ibos leave, Lagos State can NEVER be a ghost State. Your analysis is very incorrect. First off, the there is a huge Yoruba Diaspora population in the U.S., UK, Canada, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, etc. these folks travel back to Nigeria and invest in properties and agribusiness in their home states and Lagos State as well with the Yoruba population being over 55 million people spread in Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo as indigenous citizens). In case you are young and NOT conversant with the history, Ibo hatred and hate speeches towards other Nigerians ethnic groups and Yorubas started simply because of the Ibo loss of the Nigerian Civil War of July 1967 to January 1970 (exactly 2 years and 6 months). That's how the organized attacks, blackmails, and lies started from 1979 election cycle till date. So, it wasn't the Yorubas that started it. I remember that back in 1987, the nationalist, lawyer, and political leader, Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, died peace, and he was given a state burial as a political icon and GCFR. Years later from the late 1990 right up to the establishment of the Ibo secessionist group called Massob in 1999 and Ipob in 2012, groups of shameless Ibo propagandists and secessionists online and offline began to fabricate FAKE stories and lies that Chief Obafemi Awolowo committed suicide and drank rat poison. As a man who alive in 1987, I can tell you that NOTHING like that ever happened. Second, there is a dishonest meme that many HIGHLY irresponsible young Ibos have been uploading for some years and are still circulating right now which FALSELY claims that Ibrahim Babangida called Yorubas "cowards". Again NO such comment was ever made by Gen Ibrahim Babangida but the dishonest Ibos created that fake meme which is in circulation even on NL. So, these are some of the many unforgivable FABRICATED lies and Insults that some irresponsible young Ibos spread online and that is unforgivable! In many of these cases, the Ibos clearly started the aggressions first towards Yorubas and other ethnicities. Seeing that Yorubas are many online has led to the heated exchange and push backs due to the constant attacks that you see online. Smaller ethnic groups are NOT able to match the bullying of the young Ibos online except the Yorubas who have over 55 million people in population. Many prominent Yoruba religious and professional icons and multimillionaires and billionaire have have No dummy was sold by any one politician to YORUBAS in Lagos like you incorrectly stated again except you are blind to see that the attacks on Yorubas by Ibos gained momentum during the GEJ era and continued from the 2015 elections till now but the attacks had been there before 1999. All the hate speeches and false posts can still be read on Nairaland and other Websites used by secessionist groups such as Massob and Ipob. The internet doesn't forget and these false and inciting posts by some Ibos can still be read online going back the the 1990s and early 2000s. Even before these protests on NL, there was an uptick of well-known monikers owned by Ibos who constantly created thread topics that were INCITING and insulting the current President of Nigeria over the economy only to say that Ibo are not part of the protest despite the fact that Ibos kept on bragging that they are okay economically but that's a BIG lie because Ibos are also feeling the economic heat... but it is asinine and hipocritical for Ibos to be making inflammatory comments on NL and other Internet platforms which keeps triggering Yoruba folks into anger and they hit back at the Ibos. I understand what you mean by Warri being a near ghost town because I worked with a multinational oil major, but Lagos CANNOT fade because aside from the multimillion Naira investments of Yorubas in Nigeria and the Diaspora, other ethnicities such as those from Edo and Delta States for instance have some investments and live in Lagos State and the nearby Ogun State. |

Ibrahimcoomasie:Kamala Harris Fundraiser Breaks Zoom Record With 100k supporters Raising Over $1.8 Million. Kamala Harris supporters — including singer Pink and actress Connie Britton — broke a Zoom attendance record on Thursday night and raised more than $1.8 million for the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate. They also kind of broke Zoom as the call dropped in and out, with the donation link quickly maxing out before its traffic capacity was raised. “Friday Night Lights” star Britton said, “When Biden stepped down from his run for president and endorsed Kamala Harris, the world blew up. Did you feel it? It was seismic, cosmic, even. It was, for sure, bigger than we are.” |

TruthsFM:These ones in New York carrying placards indicating "End Nigeria" are clearly ethnic secessionists with NOTHING to do about a sustainable Nigeria. Period. |
Believeintruth:You CLEARLY didn't read the FACTS that I posted right in those 2 posts I made to you up on this same thread page. I attached up to 3 video evidence and credible newspaper Websites as EVIDENCE. Young man, are you so daft and slow in absorbing clearly laid out information?! You must be STUPID for trying to DEFLECT the facts here by talking of the Rwandan genocide when Ohanaeze had also condemned Nnamdi Kanu's highly irresponsible behavior (in the Guardian newspaper and other publications in October 2020) for making hate speeches and inciting radio comments calling for violence in Lagos State during the EndSARS protests and Nnamdi Kanu himself admitted that the radio recording and voice belongs to him in the video I attached on this thread but you are still denying the FACT like you are notorious for doing with the moniker you are using right now and your other moniker. I didn't want to respond initially to you because you have a notoriety for DEFLECTING key points, but because you asked a harmless question, I decided to respond. Then you always try to derail threads thinking that you can bamboozle others here. You are dealing with a VERY well-informed man here NOT with someone who is young and I will take up your stupidity as usual the way I took you up on the Ogun State oil exploration thread because I know you to be an ethnic bigot on this Website. You didn't even realize that I worked with a major International Oil Company right from the 1990s, until I busted the falsehoods in the NL post you made on another thread that the IOCs were leaving Nigeria which was a pure lie from you because all the IOCs had even issued press releases indicating that they are not leaving Nigeria but we're moving to the deep offshore. RIGHT BELOW IS NNAMDI KANU Admitting That the Over 3 Hours EndSARS Day Pirate Radio Broadcast Was Done By Him. Believeintruth:In the AUTHENTIC over 3 hours audio recording of the live phone-in radio program below are Nnamdi Kanu's CLEAR orders to Ipob on live radio broadcast from London during EndSARS protests. He CLEARLY had agents on the ground in Lagos State and elsewhere giving him live updates on the ground. In another video I posted right up, Nnamdi AGREED to being the ONE making hate speeches in the radio phone-in program on the day of the continuation of the EndSARS protest of October 20, 2020, but Nnamdi blatantly LIED and said he was "misquoted." Attached below is Uche Mefor's (the then second in seniority to Nnamdi Kanu) post on October 18, 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktk4uXmlOLs 1hr 35Mins Destroy every bridge and kill all Police. 1hr 46 mins Burn down Tinubu’s hotel 1 hr 42 min Burn down Nitel building and all Govt buildings in Lagos, burn down Murtala Mohammed Airport. 1hr 39 min Kanu orders IPOB to Kill Army Officers and manufacture weapons. 1hr 47 min Tinubu must go down 1hr 52 min Kanu confirmed information that Cele and Orile police Stations In lagos are on fire and Is delighted Nnamdi Kanu orders Ipob to use green white green and blood as the Nigerian flag. Believeintruth:Right BELOW are two newspaper articles clearly indicating that Nnamdi Kanu of Ipob made that highly irresponsible statement on his pirate radio station beaming live from London. I have the over 3 hours recording of that monitored phone-in program on the radio station, where Kanu pointedly boasted and claimed ”I gave instructions that my members must target Tinubu and his investments... Now, his hotel is in flames." The over 3 hours radio broadcast was CLEARLY Nnamdi's voice and this is the reason why Ohanaeze came out after October 20, 2020 to condemn his LIVE radio incitement of his Ipob supporters and other people in Nigeria to burn down infrastructure and the properties of politicians including the now President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, Governor Sanwo-Olu and more. In the recording, Nnamdi CLEARLY corrected a man who phoned in to his live radio broadcast not to say "Oyigbo but Obigbo." It was clearly Nnamdi's voice, so, it is inconceivable that the court would strike out the charge of EndSARS incitement by Nnamdi. In the [b]bullet point number 6 below, Nnamdi Kanu even admits in the video interview that he was the one whose voice was broadcast on radio disseminating hate speech and incitements with call to extreme violence from his members. 1] #EndSARS Tuesday evening live broadcast by Nnamdi Kanu Oct. 20, 2020 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktk4uXmlOLs 2]Asari Dokubo also made his analysis with background voiceover of Nnamdi Kanu which confirms it was him. https://www.facebook.com/306509392827347/videos/799326440858668/ 3] https://guardian.ng/news/ohanaeze-ndigbo-condemns-ipobs-call-to-destroy-yoruba-assets-in-lagos/ 4]https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/10/endsars-ohanaeze-ndigbo-disown-nnamdi-kanu-on-destruction-of-yoruba-assets/ 5] "The Video of the Night That the Chinese-Owned ORIENTAL HOTEL Was Set on Fire Which Nnamdi Kanu & Others FALSELY Claimed Belongs to Bola Tinubu" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asbbhcNGjDw 6] Nnamdi Kanu CLEARLY admits in the video BELOW that he was the ONE that made the highly inciting broadcast on the pirate radio station but he LIED that his comments were twisted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xrbv63EEzqs&t=19s 7]https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/522611-updated-court-strikes-out-eight-of-15-charges-against-ipob-leader-nnamdi-kanu-full-list.html UPDATED: Court strikes out 8 of 15 charges against IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu SUSTAINED CHARGES The judge ordered that the case proceeds to trial on Counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13 and 15. Ibrahimcoomasie:This is a highly ridiculous and incendiary comment coming from this man called Peter Obi. There is absolutely "NO threat of genocide" in that attached tweet below from @lagospedia which as stated is an X catfish account. Peter Obi and other Ibos should STOP the LIES and undue sensationalism here. It makes Peter Obi and you all sound and look "emotionally very weak" that an ordinary post on X from @lagospedia can make you begin to ramble on and on playing the usual victim. Moreover, it's a historical FACT many Ibo secessionist groups including many Ibo posters on NL and on other online platforms have on a daily basis been using the #IgboMustGo tag and making well documented and HIGHLY inciting comments since the days of Ralph Uwazurike's Massob in the early 2000s and Ipob against other Nigerian ethnic groups including Yoruba folks and there are audio and video recordings of Nnamdi Kanu threatening Yoruba pastors and insulting Ibos who attend mega churches with Yoruba pastors as founders as can be seen below including making inciting comments by calling on Ibos to attack and burn down Yoruba interests in Lagos State during the 2020 EndSARS protests as published in Guardian newspaper and other news media. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y3yR-NMSvg?si=RCbC58LJv4bPYbSd

Tokskob2008:@Toks, First off, the thrust of the article about Adamu Garba Adamu is right BELOW: “The North is played into this protest of vandalism. Those northern influencers pushing for this protest should by now, realize that they have been used to destroy their commonwealth. Second, for me, I can CLEARLY see the solutions that the government has implemented in the period leading right up to the protest date of August 1, 2024 and even after that. Many NNPC CNG refill stations have been opened in Lagos State and Abuja from May 30th, 2024 and folks have been getting CNG to buy into their vehicles (cars and trucks) at N200 per standard cubic feet of CNG and this has lowered the cost of fuelling vehicles. I also read that the Presidential Initiative on CNG has also started to give out free CNG conversations for all NURTW members. If that is sustained, folks will NOT even need to depend on Dangote Petrochemical Refinery for PMS since these guys will get CNG at N200 per standard cubic feet which is going to be way cheaper that even PMS from Dangote Refinery. With CNG, being more pervasive in the whole of Nigeria with more CNG refill stations in other states, the cost of transportation of people and for food trucks haulage will reduce and food will be CHEAPER. Consequently, when Dangote Petrochemical Refinery starts the PMS production from the month of August 2024 as scheduled, PMS will be available, but the beauty of it is that Nigeria would NOT have to import PMS again as stated by the bosses at Dangote Petrochemical Refinery and the EXCESS PMS unused (after the daily Nigerian fuel consumption has been taken out) will then be EXPORTED to earn FX for Nigeria. Therefore, the pressure on USD would reduce and there would be more USD inflows from the sales of all kinds of refined products from Dangote Refinery such as PMS. I remember that this is EXACTLY what happened back in the early 1980s till the the early IBB years when Nigeria exported refined PMS to other countries for FX. It was during the military dictatorship years from Babangida to Sani Abacha that the Nigerian' refineries got brutally damaged and further cannibalized due to the absence of TAM (Turn Around Maintenance) which are supposed to be done every 2 years otherwise damage would be done to the refineries but the military guysin government and their corrupt civilian cronies ruined the refineries so that they could start importing diesel, PMS, and other kinds of fuels and they became overnight multimillionaires. The issue I find annoying with the current Federal and State governments in Nigeria is that they should have rolled out the CNG buses, CNG trucks and more since last year to lower the cost of food, drugs, and transportation instead of waiting for Dangote Petrochemical Refinery to come on stream. Dangote too kept on shifting dates for opening and then PMS production which must have been VERY annoying for a lot of folks. So, I just got information today that the Nigerian President has given direct instructions to the NNPC to supply crude oil to the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery so, there is hope that more FX inflows will come into the CBN once Dangote Petrochemical Refinery starts to export more refined PMS and more abroad thereby making the local currency stronger or appreciate against the USD and free up more funds for development of infrastructural developments by all strata of government. I saw videos of two Ibo chaps who were some of the many leaders of the protest in Abuja saying that the fuel subsidy should be restored and that fuel should sell at the old price and I was like, PMS (fuel) subsidy removal has come to stay but the wider usage of cheaper CNG at N200 per standard cubic feet would bring the prices of goods and services back to the period that subsidy was removed if the governments at all levels monitor the downward review of prices in the open markets, pharmacies, and more. I hope this gives you some insights about my projections and optimism that things will pan out right within the NEXT 2 months. |
Tokskob2008:You wish you had someone like Sani Abacha again? A horrendous military dictator of the 1990s who STOLE over 4 billion USD majorly through the Central Bank of Nigeria into offshore bank accounts and who's military dictatorship assasinated many prominent people is the kind of person that you wish to have again. You're NOT serious are you? Toks, you have to wake up from the amnesia and Stockholm syndrome. Military dictatorship is NOT an option as they are even worse and the kind of protests and open speech going on over there in Nigeria online and offline would NEVER be tolerated by the military as many radio stations and other mass media would have been shut down by now. Thanks to the doggedness of Nigerian Guerilla Journalists of the 1980s and especially the 1990s from Dele Giwa who was killed via a parcel bomb in 1986 to Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Kunle Ajibade, Odion Akhaine and more who went to jail and some went on exile in the United States and London in order to keep the information flow going for Nigerians through Tell and TheNEWS Magazine, Radio Kudirat, and regular appearances on major U.S. and UK news networks. |
Benoxvals:He is a different Seun. You seem to be new here. |
seunmsg:Some of those protesters in the states of the far North of Nigeria were CLEARLY on some kind of hard drugs (drug addicts). Based off of the pictures I've seen, one of them even climbed a traffic light and was using a machete to damage the brand new traffic lights. That was a facility that was built for the good of all from tax payers' money and that idiot just damaged it. I hope he got arrested by the law enforcement agents subsequently like others for his asinine actions against the people of his state through the destruction of public infrastructure!

Crimecity:There is "NO threat of genocide" in that tweet from @lagospedia which as stated is an X catfish account. The so-called Dr. Sam Amadi and you the OP and other Ibos should STOP the LIES and undue sensationalism here. It makes you all sound and look "emotionally very weak" that an ordinary post on X from @lagospedia can make you begin to ramble on and on playing the usual victim.
