PoliticsRe: How Lamido Traded Off Abiola’s Mandate, By Dele Alake by Konquest: 5:16pm On Jun 23, 2025
TimeManager:
One-time Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido yesterday came under scathing criticism from Solid Minerals Minister Dele Alake.

It was over what Alake called Lamido’s incoherent account of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

The former governor had faulted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s acclaimed role in the crusade to actualize the election, the results of which were annulled by military president Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.

Speaking on a national television on the saga, Lamido claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was part of the people who supported the annulment of the election.

According to him, Tinubu’s mother, the late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji organised market women from Lagos, to come to Abuja and show support for the then Head of State.

Lamido also claimed that the National Democractic Coalition (NADECO) was formed to fight for the late Gen. Sani Abacha and not June 12.

But Alake berated Lamido, who was the secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), accusing him of teaming up with others to trade off the election won by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.

Featuring on a national television last night, described Lamido’s claims as tissues of lies from the pit of hell.

He said Tinubu gave everything he had towards the reclaiming of Abiola’s mandate.

“I feel very appalled at his own submissions, which I’ll ascribe largely to amnesia or at the very worst, an impairment of oblongata or memory loss in layman’s terms.

“Sule Lamido himself was the guilty party to the annulment of that June 12, 1999 election.

“Sule Lamido did not know so many things. He was Secretary of the SDP. Prior to this time, he was posturing as a leftist. The late Tony Anenih was the chairman.

“Unknown to Lamido, Tinubu played a major role in the emergence of MKO as a candidate well before the election.

“There were two factions that formed the nucleus of the SDP.

“One, the Peoples’ Front was led by the late Gen. Musa Yar’Adua, the second, the Peoples Social Party (PSP) was led by the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the late Adekunle Ajasin etc.

“These two caucuses formed the SDP. Tinubu belonged to the Yar’Adua faction. But on the formation of SDP, it became one party.

“The groundswell for MKO to become the candidate of the party at the Jos Convention was overwhelming.

“There was a stalemate. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar also ran as an aspirant in SDP since 1993. Atiku has been at the game since then. Babagana Kingibe ran.

“There was a stalemate in the first ballot between Kingibe and MKO. Then, there was horse trading to get Atiku to drop his ambition and align with the MKO group.

“This same Tinubu was one of the key people that led the negotiations to persuade Atiku to drop his own aspiration and align with MKO. This eventually happened.

“When the second ballot was conducted, it was obvious that MKO coasted home to victory. While that election was going, myself, Tunji Bello, Segun Babatope, were drafting MKO’s speech, which he read.

“After negotiations, the Yar’Adua faction had the upper hand and that was why Lamido became the secretary of the party.

“Then, the campaign for the election began. And Tinubu threw everything he had at it. So, it is totally false to say Tinubu only became popular after the annulment of June 12.

Alake faulted Lamido’s claim that Tinubu supported the cancellation of the election was an attempt to the former Jigawa State governor to cover up his evil deeds.

The minister said: “That is totally false and revisionism; it is an attempt for Lamido to cover his pernicious role in supporting that critical sacred mandate given to MKO.

“Lamido and SDP chairman sold out MKO’s mandate by accepting the National Interim Government (NIG).”

The explained that the late Alhaja Magaji went to plead with the late Abacha to restore MKO’s mandate.

Aside from actively supporting MKO Abiola and being one of those that convinced Atiku Abubakar to step down for him, he stated that even when he was behind bars, Tinubu was still funding the movement against the military.

“Tinubu was one of the funders and one of the organisers, one of the planners of all the protests, July 23, 24, 25 of 1993 against the annulment. This was way before Abacha. Abacha did not come until November 17, 1993,’’ Alake maintained.

He highlighted various instances to show that there was no truth in Lamido’s narrative, stating that it was Tinubu, for instance, that escorted MKO to go and see Abacha to negotiate how Abacha would relinquish office and hand over back to MKO.

“If Tinubu was working for Abacha, how would he be doing that? How would he be confronting Abacha frontally that he was in detention. And in fact, there was a time they issued a directive that he must be found, he must be brought in dead or alive.

“It was at that point he had to leave through the famous NADECO route. The Abacha goons were all over looking for him. And I remember that. So that was the reason that he left. So he didn’t run away,” Alake stated in his defence of the President.

Absolutely brilliant summations.

'Dele Alake was spot on in his account here.
Those of us who witnessed the events leading right up to the June 12, 1993 Presidential elections, and beyond can confirm this historical account.

Definitely, Sule Lamido must be having some memory lose (which usually occurs due to the ageing process and the gradual destruction of the stem cells in the brain) or is just engaging in deliberate historical revisionism which will NOT be tolerated.
The intelligence agencies still have to interogate him to know what his motivation for saying spewing out this historical disinformation is. Such comments are capable of triggering social unrests due to a further loss of trust in the President of Nigeria.

A firm official apology is required here from Sule Lamido for defaming President 'Bola Tinubu and his mother Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji for this utter disinformation that has led some young ones working as paid ipob troll farms (who were NOT even born as of June 12, 1993) to start spreading their well-known online disinformation due to tribal bigotry.

I like Oluwatoyin's all-inclusivity here. She doesn't want the winner-takes-all approach which is a sign of a first daughter who has gained ascendancy over greed.

However, Akala's remains don't have to be exhumed. A close surviving brother can be used to match the DNA of Alao Akala's children with the surviving brother. Besides, some of Alao Akala's children don't need a DNA test because they look exactly like him right up to some of his daughters.

Basorun M.K.O Abiola's children all underwent paternity DNA tests in order to qualify for their shares of his inheritance after he had passed on and just a few of them were found NOT to be his biological children. A larger number of those tested were fathered by him.

Something an ordinary aboki can do...

He should just say he went to acquire certs for title and respect, but sorry sir your professorship is not for selling vegetables in the market

A professor for nothing
C'mon @MissOpe,

You're hitting way below the navel here.

But you're (or have been) into fashion design. Is fashion what you really studied back in your Uni days? I doubt it. Fashion is probably something you were passionate about and took as career path.

That man is a Professor of "Plant Resources" so that's his area of research and specialty and he MUST be equally using advanced aquaponics, soilless farming, green houses, etc, to grow plants for food and more to feed folks in his immediate environment through the "farmers markets."
Many of these academic folks around the world from the United States, to Israel, to South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, etc, have been quietly making millions from the agribusiness ecosystem if you don't know yet. So, he's NOT just selling veggies here, he's researching and applying modern methods in plants production. That's the way I see it.

It's his prerogative to do whatever he wants as long as its gonna be for the good of all. Period.

my guy at 39 married his wife of age 24. If you see their healthy children. And the girl still fresh and young after 3 kids. She's just 29+ now

Who no like better thing.

The other guy go marry woman of 35 years, two of his kids are autistic now. They are in the spectrum seriously. So sad embarassed

Myself I don't want 30+ years old ladies to be pressured, I feel their pains. they don't need to be because no body send them grin. Nothing for them out there. The younger ladies are the one's taken mostly so I agree with the OP

Medically speaking, young women in their 20s are ALSO giving birth to autistic children, so, it's NOT set in stone that because a woman is over 30 years of age, she would give birth to an autistic child.

However, there are ways of detecting if fetuses have genetic defects such as autism and you can choose to terminate the fetuses before 3 months elapse. The other option is to do a pre-selection of viable females eggs and fertilize them and then select the ones that have NO genetic defects before implantation into the womb of the mother. It's however costly to do BUT it's worth it.

"Adebukonola" is not a Yoruba name.

Look at her face. They have started forging identities.

EVERYONE knows the real culprits
It's Adekoya "Adebukonla" Mary that was published and NO such spelling exists in Yoruba. It's obviously a FORGED name and FORGED travel documents she planned to use to travel.

This is exactly how the popular Nigerian actor Uche Odoputa was arrested for drug trafficking of 3.3 kilograms of cocaine to London in 2007 via Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja BUT surprisingly he DID NOT use his real names BUT fake Ibo names [Tochi James Uche] and Uche Odoputa had his NDLEA mugshots splashed all over the newspapers and online so, it was VERY easy for people to recognize him instantly as the actor!

It's really important to find out if the woman is truly a Yoruba-speaking make-up artiste and NOT someone using a forged Yoruba identity in order to minimize suspicions on the Indian flight route which the few Yoruba drug traffickers usually do NOT frequent. If it's confirmed that she's Yoruba, then it signifies a new trend in recruiting non-Ibos to evade suspicions on that route. The law MUST descend heavily on these insidious people and their sponsors so that they do NOT damage the image of innocent Nigerians traveling for genuine international business purposes. Period.

I find this strange.

Of all the names of drug traffickers listed in that article, this OP went about engaging in ethnic baiting! Besides, it's well-known from NDLEA crime data for years now that most drug traffickers don't use their real names BUT use forged travel documents. Why pick on ONLY the woman and her alleged sponsor then left the other listed offenders? The FACT that one of the mods pushed this to the front page emphasizes that Nairaland hasn't truly imbibed that change culture to steer this Website away from tribal bigotry that Seun promised yet. It's just a huge joke.

I was a national delegate to the SDP convention in Jos. i was directly copted by MKO himself to join Jonathan Zwingina in the Campaign communications Dept when he came to Tafawa Balewa College to speak with delegates kept there. MKO was miffed when he heard me speak. Atiku and Kingibe had at that time moved many of my Delta state delegates separately to Bauchi to avoid poaching. MKO sent his aides to get to me and surprisingly changed my accommodation to Hill station hotel. After we won MKO began to reconcile the party but in the process allowed the military arranged NWC which included Tony Anenih and Sule Lamido to subsist. The military knew they were not going to handover. They already had their plot in place. But then IBB was at his wits end. He had no tricks left in his bag. Besides, during the primaries Atiku and kingibe were already blackmailing delegates not to waste their votes insisting that if MKO wins the military will not handover. Their argument was that the military establishment then can only handover to a northerner. So it was obvious they knew the game plan.

On the other side of the aisle, Arthur Nzeribe, Uche Chukwumerije had already registered ABN and were waiting with their foot soldiers among whom was Peter Obi who served the Justice Bassey Ikpeme's court order barring NEC to conduct June 12th elections. So it is pretty ironic to find Sule Lamido attempting to turn history on his head. I think he has amnesia as he seems to have forgotten how he was used by the military to join the June 12th chaos in the jungle jobbers.

Succinctly stated.

These historical FACTS must be reemphasized to the younger generation so that they too don't forget. The insidious roles the military dictatorships under Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha [who irresponsibly stole for himself and family alone a whopping over 4 billion USD of Nigeria's money through the Central Bank of Nigeria into offshore bank accounts in the Caribbean and Europe in what is NOW famously termed "ABACHA LOOT" which are still being refunded to Nigeria] further emphasizes how the extreme mediocrity and manipulativeness of the military rulers was to Nigeria especially during the failed political transition program to democracy by IBB and Abacha who tried to transmute into a civilian President.

The URGENT need for the constitutional amendment process to kick-in has never been more important than now to remove these inneficiences that have slowed Nigeria down for decades since 1960.

Science/TechnologyRe: Inside The UK's Nigerian Tech Boom by Konquest: 2:14pm On Jun 23, 2025
AmazingGenius:
A new wave of Nigerian tech talent is quietly transforming the UK start-up scene - from AI to fintech, their impact is beginning to show.

Across the UK's innovative tech hotspots, a new generation of Nigerian tech professionals are shifting the paradigm and reshaping the future of the UK's digital economy, with determination, innovation and community.

With a growing reputation as one of the most successful migrant communities in the world, Nigeria now ranks among the top contributors to the innovation boom in the UK. From leading teams at Wise, Deliveroo, BT Group and Innovate UK to founding cross-border start-ups tackling logistics, climate, and global financial inclusion, Nigerian tech professionals are silently climbing the ranks and curating a new narrative. One that speaks of resilience and technical brilliance.

Several high-profile Nigerian owned companies such as Reach Robotics (Mekamon) have raised over $12m operating in the UK digital space, a clear indicator of the impact of this diaspora community on the economy. According to data from the Home Office, Nigerians ranked among the most successful applicants for the Global Talent Visa, a clear indication of the growing presence of skilled talent from one of Africa's fastest-growing tech ecosystems in the United Kingdom. A similar report from Tech Nation also shows Nigerians as having one of the rising demographics in the UK's tech migration, alongside countries like India and the USA.

Nigeria has a young, tech-savvy population, with a median age of 18 years old. The country ranks among the top contributors to Africa's 700,000 developers, with many structured training programs equipping more with skills in artificial intelligence, cloud, cyber security and more disciplines. This unique blend makes Nigerian talent very attractive in the global talent pool. Combined with high English language proficiency and a strong cultural familiarity with the UK - rooted in historical ties - Nigerians are often well-positioned to integrate quickly and contribute meaningfully in professional environments across the United Kingdom and beyond.

Another key factor that sets this diaspora community apart is how effectively they are able to translate their understanding of their own native technology ecosystem into the reality of living and working in the UK, a fluency that allows them to see what others might miss. And while platforms like LinkedIn may help in sculpting career paths, it follows that optimal connectivity and reliance are enhanced through diaspora communities such as Tech Nation Naija (TN Naija), a fast-growing network of Nigerian tech professionals in the UK digital space. Through peer mentorship, workshops and referrals, this network is quietly bridging the gaps between both ecosystems.

Networks and communities such as these are becoming pipelines for UK technology companies seeking African talent and vice versa. As such, the rise of the Nigerian tech diaspora forces a rethink of global talent. In a world where borders are tightening, these diaspora professionals are showing that innovation thrives on the movement of people, knowledge and opportunity.

For the UK, this presents access to one of the world's youngest and fastest growing tech talent ecosystems and for Nigeria, it presents an opportunity for the perspective of migration to no longer be deemed to be a brain drain but instead to be viewed as a brain gain, as capital and knowledge return to the country through mentorship and its diaspora networks.

As the UK grapples with talent shortages and the need to diversify its tech workforce, the Nigerian diaspora offers a blueprint for not only innovation but also inclusion and integration. This quiet community may not always be at the forefront of the news cycle, but it undoubtedly has its hands on the future of the global tech ecosystem, shaping possibilities and influencing policies across the two countries.

This is insightful and impressive as well in the grand scheme of things.

The Nigerian Diaspora truly rocks within a lot of global ecosystems.

An American Expert Perfectly Analyzes Terrorism in Nigeria the Systematic Elimination of Christians

In this powerful and eye-opening video, an American analyst breaks down the ongoing terrorism crisis in Nigeria, exposing the harsh reality of systematic violence, religious persecution, and the silent war being waged across rural communities.

With clarity and compassion, the speaker highlights the targeted attacks on Christian communities, the violent displacement of indigenous people, and the growing dominance of Fulani militant groups. Villages are being ransacked, families forced to flee, and entire regions left in fear — yet much of the international community remains silent

📌 Topics Covered:

The rise of terrorism and banditry in Northern and Central Nigeria

The systematic targeting of Christians and minority groups

The alleged complicity of local and national actors

Land seizures and forced displacement by armed Fulani groups

The need for international awareness, justice, and urgent action

⚠️ This video is a wake-up call to global audiences about a humanitarian crisis that is being ignored. The truth must be told.

Absolutely brilliant! The two discussants right in the video made VERY damning comments right there. This should be on the NL frontpage and go viral.

I told a gentleman and NL member here early last week that these foreign Fulani herders and bandits killings of indigenous Nigerians started during the President OBJ years with indigenous Hausa communities of the Hausa States being major victims of the killings, and the White American lady in the video confirmed as well that the Fulani bandits murders of innocent indigenous Nigerians started 20 years ago!
Meaning the year 2005. But there were even Jihadist-like community invasions and mass killings on September 11, 2001 in Rankum [the same day the terror attacks of 9/11 occured in the United States], and Rankum is located in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State which the foreign Fulanis and their local Fula allies grabbed and RENAMED illegally to "Mahanga" which is a Fulani name and it served as their command and control center due to the height of the Rankum location. The same style of renaming indigenous Nigerian communities from one state to another to Fula names by these foreign Fulani bandits is still going as of today right in Nigeria based off of current Intel.

This is why as of 2009, former President OBJ talked about the dangers of "Fulanization and Islamisation in Africa."

The White American gentleman in the video interview said over 90% of the mass killings of Xtians worldwide in the last 5 years happened in Nigeria and that the Nigerian governments have always known about these bandits and the millions of folks displaced in IDP camps due to the activities and did NOTHING! That's a damning accessment right there.

The earlier the constitutional amendments kick in to eradicate the security, economic, geopolitical inneficiences slowing Nigeria's progression, the BETTER for President 'Bola Tinubu, the Governors, the legislator and other folks on the street level because the crazy inneficiences holding Nigeria down for several decades are NOT sustainable and acceptable even to members of the international community as of today.

What this video interview further shows is that these severe and relentless killings have gone on for years since the early 2000s and did NOT start during the APC years (but the PDP era) like some irresponsible younger posters who get paid for being members of troll farms like to do by deliberately spreading massive disinformation on online platforms. It started from circa 2000 and beyond.

An insightful thread.

You'll find this highly insightful video right ABOVE informative and it ties in with our convo last week on when those foreign Fula herders and bandits invasions of indigenous Nigerian communities really started in Nigeria which is from the early 2000s during the OBJ years.

Over the last few months, I’ve seen some wild comments from men on Nairaland. Things like “after 7”, “evening newspaper”, “depleted ovaries”… you name it. But let me tell you: that’s not on you. That’s on them.

If you're feeling down because of these words, pause and breathe. grin grin. These men; the ones who use these terms. I’ve studied them. Yes, I went through their old posts. The youngest among them is about 43. 😂 Imagine a 43-year-old man online calling women expired. God forbid my own future husband is wasting his time typing such rubbish on a forum.
One even replied me once saying I should "rest". This is someone struggling to pay N150k school fees for his 8-year-old child and rent somewhere in the bush in Ikorodu. 😭 Another one, sleeping in the office Monday to Friday because transport to Ajah will eat his entire salary. We already had our third degree by 23 but one man from Ogbomosho thinks he would be doing me a favour by marrying me. These same people shouting “in saner climes” but the only airport they have seen is from watching James Bond movies. 😭😭😭

And these are the same ones screaming "I can't marry a 25+ year old, they’re too old." At 40+? You’re not even ashamed. Ato ole.

Ladies, these are the ones calling you evening newspaper. Do you now see that it has nothing to do with you? If you’re here and you’re worried about these people, don’t be.
This message is not for the real men who respect women and are just struggling financially. My message for you is: it’ll be okay soon, amen.

Now for the rest of us baby girls 👸🏽:
There’s a flawed logic these same men like to push. This idea of "100 women to 1 man". It’s a lie. Statistically, there are more men than women in Nigeria and in the world. You can Google it. They just use that flawed stat to make women feel desperate.

Let me say this clearly girls: angry
If you are not earning your own money, you have no business dating.

Once you start making money, your standards go up naturally. That’s why you’ll see Regina Daniels with a Ned Nwoko, but you’ll never see Temi Otedola with Dangote. 😏
I saw a thread the other day. One Nairaland uncle asking for advice on dating an 18-year-old. By page 2, he had mentioned giving money to her mother.

So please, work. Even if it’s small. Take yourself on mini-vacations within Nigeria. Join clubs. Play sports. I play chess. In fact, there’s no antichess player in Africa better than me. Just recently, I came 3rd out of 2,500 players globally in the Antichess World Championship grin grin grin grin grin. 💅🏽

I’m also starting Pilates with my girls, and I’m going to take standard chess seriously again. I want to become Nigeria’s first grandmaster by age 37.

So please my girls:
1. Buy good skincare.
2. Learn how to do your makeup — Mac, Fenty, Lancôme… get at least one.
3. Look younger, stay fresh.
4. Don’t ever beg for transport fare to go on a date. 🙅🏽‍♀️

Don’t settle because some man with a “Akungba university 1984” ID is calling you names online. 😭

Look at Asa Asika. Look at Davido. Look at Toolz and Tunde. Real rich kids marry close in age because they’re not looking for desperation, they’re looking for a match.
Take your time. Don’t lower your crown. Someone will love you fully with money, respect, maturity, and peace of mind.
There’s someone for everyone. Just don’t rush because of what these agbado philosophers are saying on Nairaland grin grin grin. 😂

Remember:
When they say “You’re too old,” just remember, The only thing outdated is their mindset which expired after Jonathan’s first tenure. Stop explaining your standards to people who’ve never met them.

There’s a man for every woman and yours will see your worth without needing you to shrink or beg for it. cool cool cool
So to every woman reading this: You’re not behind.

Evening newspaper still has breaking news.
Bye baby girls
Did you actually write this based off of your personal experience or is this copied from another source?

Now, being 30 years for a woman isn't old to me though. I've seen several young women who are older than that age of 30 still looking great with inner peace and WITHOUT slapping make up on themselves. Just minimalist styles of dressing resonated with them. Advanced fertility treatments have even made having children for any woman in her 30s right into the early 40s easy.

On the contrary, there are more females than males worldwide and NOT the other way round like you stated. In 2023, the male population was estimated at 4.05 billion, compared to 4.01 billion women

Aha! I see that you play some chess and antichess which isn't bad to keep the mind active and focused.

yeah great insights and valid points but those invaders into Spain and Italy they say came in from Africa led by Severus the African general of Rome . I don't think those guys were Persians. They called them moors.

Many of them were black. But either way the truth is we are all flawed but in a mAns trajectory of deeds you can tell the composition of his spirit and his inclinations. A man can only give what he has in him and so in a trajectorical study of a man's deeds you can tell what the man will always do and in that regard I consider all parties involved as satanical in nature but like I said though I rather take my chances with Iran having nukes. These are not parasitic entities the Iranians. They don't have a parasitic history.
Just a quick addition, the Berbers (otherwise called the Moors by the Medieval Europeans) are the indigenous people of Morocco and Algeria of today before the Arab invasion of North Africa from the Arabian Peninsula after Mohammed the Islamic founder died.

The Tuaregs of Northern Niger Republic and Northern Mali are ALSO offshoots of the Berbers. The Fulanis too are also mixed ancestry descendants on the paternal line of the Ummayad Berbers of Morocco who fathered children through women from conquered territories of West Africa. The Fulanis began to evolved from the Mauritania/Senegal region. Modern DNA tests results I've seen of ALL the Fulanis online clearly show a North African Berber paternal ancestry which tallies with oral and written accounts. Fulanis are of North African Berber origin from the Morocco and Algeria areas.

Severus the African general of Rome events happened much earlier BEFORE the Islamic Ummayad Berber rulers invaded Spain and colonized it from the year 711 CE to 1492 CE. The Muslims controlled parts of Spain, known as Al-Andalus, from 711 CE to 1492 CE and this period of Muslim rule lasted for almost eight centuries, ending with the fall of Granada in 1492.

Lanruze:
Dele Alake put up a super brilliant historical account of events that happened in the pre, during and post events of June 12 struggle.

His delivery was 95% and reminded us of his days as the DG Media & Communication campaign team of the BAT team during the last Presidential Campaign.

I personally think Dele Alake should be re-assigned to the ministry of information or else he will live to regret because PBAT will never get a second term with these set of opportunistic media aides that surround PBAT presently.

There is a big difference between Bayo Onanuga's written response and Dele Alake's interview which had more depth, demagogy and was eloquently delivered.

Indeed PBAT was the Head, Guerilla wing of NADECO most military men of the Officer cadre who served during the Abacha Regime knew Tinubu as a very stubborn and intelligent conman.
Indeed, the veteran pro-democracy movement activist (during the highly corrupt military dictatorship years of the mid-1980s right into the late-1990s) and investigative journalist 'Dele Alake, was expected to handle the Ministry of Information with his lucid eloquence but he was put in charge of the Ministry of Solid Minerals which isn't bad because it requires someone who is an administrator.

But Alake would have been highly impressive in the Ministry of Information.

I totally agree with your assertions ABOVE as someone who last voted on Nigerian soil on June 12, 1993 and ALSO CLEARLY witnessed the sequence of political events before, during, and after June 12, 1993. The then Senator 'Bola Tinubu and his mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji NEVER worked against MKO Abiola as being irresponsibly bandied around and if you look at all the 3 thread posts so far on this Sule Lamido's historical revisionism, it's majorly the young elements from the tribe directly located on the East of river Niger (who were NOT even born as of June 12, 1993) that are running around, pushing the deliberate disinformation that the now President 'Bola Tinubu betrayed MKO which is the kind of narrative, they and their paid ipob troll farms like to irresponsibly push around to damage Tinubu's image and that will NOT be tolerated here on this discussion forum.
PoliticsRe: Katsina Youths Stage Pro-Iran Protest Amid Ongoing War With Israel by Konquest: 10:53am On Jun 23, 2025
BlackViper:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKB3FtM8s7Q

A large group of youths took to the streets of Katsina on Sunday in a public demonstration in support of Iran, amid escalating tensions between the Islamic Republic and Israel.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by social media user Oyindamola (@dammiedammie35), dozens of people could be seen waving Iranian flags and holding banners as they marched in unison through a street in the northern city. Chants in solidarity with Iran echoed through the air, as the demonstrators made their position on the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis clear.

LEADERSHIP reports that the Katsina protest came against the backdrop of an intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel, two regional powers locked in a long-standing rivalry that escalated dramatically earlier this year.

Tensions reached a boiling point in April 2025, when Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles toward Israel in what it described as retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on its consulate building in Damascus, Syria. The airstrike killed several members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including senior commanders. Iran’s unprecedented retaliatory attack on Israeli soil marked a historic shift in the nature of hostilities between the two countries, transitioning from proxy confrontations to direct military engagement.

In response, Israel struck Iranian military infrastructure inside Iran, further fueling concerns of a full-scale regional war that could draw in multiple actors, including the United States, Gulf nations, and other militant groups aligned with Iran.

The conflict has since simmered, with both nations engaged in cyber warfare, intelligence operations, and military posturing, even as the international community calls for de-escalation.

Nigeria, a nation with a sizable Muslim population and long-standing diplomatic ties with both Iran and Israel, has maintained a neutral stance in the conflict.

As of the time of filing this report , it remained unclear whether the protest was organised by any particular group or was spontaneous in nature. Authorities was yet to issue a statement regarding the protest, and there were no reports of violence or arrests.

Yes Sir trust you would have a splendid day and week also. Happy new week. Yeah listen me I don't look at people as terrorists when it comes to geopolitical issues. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Who is more terroristic than the west ? Sitting down to divide a continent and killing all it's revolutionary leaders and putting in puppet leaders and colonialism and 400 years of slavery etc etc. I would take my chances with Iran having nukes than the west. Lmaoooo. Am serious. Those malos don't interfere in other nations business. Ok they may want to spread Islam but they are never interested in controlling you economically. The west wants to control every aspect of your life. I rather Iran have nukes. They don't feel the need to interfere in the lives of others. All these countries with nukes, Pakistan, india etc ? Who have they invaded ? Nobody. Western countries with nukes ? Always invading everybody. Iraq Libya etc have being invaded and their leaders publicly executed. I mean who is really the terrorist to be feared ? Try not to buy into western fear and propaganda brother. Am not saying I support these arabs either. I got no love for either of em so to me this is like watching the enemies cancel each other out 😏😏😄
Great insights!

You made historically valid points right ABOVE based off of global geopolitical dynamics that I've been aware of for years as well. Both sides of the divide have their own "demons" and cannot be totally trusted for their centuries of ruthlessness.

If you remember, the Umayyad Berber/Arab Islamic invasions of the Iberian Peninsula (precisely Spain and Portugal and even got to the direct borders of modern France with Spain) from their North African homelands. These guys colonised Spain (which they called Al-Andalus) for over 700 years till 1492 when a combined Spanish military force was able to kick them out of Southern Spain back into Africa where they then proceeded to attack, destabilize and destroy other West African Empires such as the Songhai Empire and more.

I had to quote you again to SAVE your post as a reminder that we are all actors and spectators in the grand scheme of things.

This is the first time ever Israel has been hit hard on a higher magnitude. They have never experienced a thing like this before and are still in shock from their own disbelieve.
@mysticwarrior

True that.

The "Iron Dome" and "David Sling" Air Defense Systems just collapsed under those new generation zigzagging "Sejjil missiles" and more. If things proceed at this same rate or more, literally every part of Israel will be totally flattened by the constant barrage of ballistic missiles.

On the other hand, I'm one of those who have long believed STRONGLY that the Iranian Shiite mullahs MUST NEVER be allowed to have nuclear weapons capability because of their sponsorships of Shiite terror groups and proxies since 1979 in Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq, Syria, Africa, etc, BUT seeing these live video images of scenes of utter destruction of very important locations in Israel on mainstream Western news outlets (NOT those propaganda pro-Iran news outlets), I affirm we all underestimated Iran and her military capabilities.

However, I'm glad that Iran's TRUE military capabilities are now unraveling and it CLEARLY shows that if they develop that nuclear capability (like the Pakistanis and Indians have done in the past) the Iranian Shiite mullahs would have misused it for military purposes and destabilize that region.

It's obvious from reading 'Dele Alake's STRONG response that Sule Lamido is experiencing some mental amnesia which comes with age due to the lose of the stem cells in the brain nerve centers. Sule Lamido just got things muddled up historically which are signs of a failing memory.

yes Sirrrrrrrr salute to you. By the new Israel no I don't mean China or Russia. Notice how the hammer is usa but the hammer has an outpost that is representative of that power and that outpost being israel. this is why the USA and Israel are one. It's the same entity but one is symbolic power while the other is the actual power

And so in that vein the actual power would be Russia but the symbolic power would surprise you , Russia has been spreading the news that the real Messiah is a black man. So he may make the symbolic Israel a country in Africa. This why they are now creating a presence in Africa and kicking out the French. And yes like you said if this is what Iran is serving then the main course from China and Russia must be stupendously wicked 😅😅😅😅
Okay, I get where you are headed now... "A symbolic presence in Africa through the actual power, Russia." Metaphysical symbolism.

There's NO doubt that this war was originally perfected by the United States using a proxy through Bibi Netanyahu to strike the jugular of Iran. The Iranians lost a lot of vital military and nuclear science specialists BUT like a conveyor belt, they already have people to replace them especially in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Though I'm a strong supporter of keeping nuclear weapons capability away from the Iranian mullahs who have consistently sponsored Shiite terror groups in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, Africa, etc, I was stunned seeing the extensive damage and leveling of parts of Tel Aviv and other cities of Israel. The Israelis too do NOT have enough missile interceptors to bring down the advanced new generation missiles which Iran has stockpiled for years now in secret underground bunkers. Iranian Shiite mullahs are saying, "we ain't going down WITHOUT you going down."

We hope for a de-escalation soon so that other dire unintended consequences don't strike the global economy via spiraling inflation in this geopolitical "game of chess."

I appreciate your feedback here like you've always done in the past.

Enjoy your day and work week as well.

it is indeed a metaphysical destabilization . The iron dome collect Iranian juju and decided it wanted no parts of it 😄😄😄😠
Salute!

A "metaphysical destabilization"... VERY strong adjectives right there.

Second, by the way, is China OR Russia the country you are referencing in your post as the new "Is-ra-el?"

Now, if Iran has these sorts of military ability to evade both the "Iron Dome" and "David Sling" Air Defense Systems using this new generation zigzagging "Sejjil" missiles hidden for years in the "military war bunkers," you can imagine what China, Russia, and even North Korea have in store since the Sejjil missiles is based off of Chinese and North Korean technologies which the Iranians have perfected.

In a way, I'm glad that Israel and later the United States have launched direct attacks on Iran as we would NEVER have known first-hand the true military capabilities of Iran if those attacks hadn't taken place.

If Russia and China stubbornly get into the fight on the side of Iran like they've both been huffing and puffing lately, WW3 would commence and it would be messy with Gulf Arab countries especially leaning towards the United States protection.

Trump Bombs Iran: Here's How Khamenei Could Respond; Attack On US Bases Next? | N18G

US President Donald Trump announced that Washington carried out a "successful" bombing attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, saying that they have been totally obliterated. Now Iran says it reserves all options to defend its sovereignty. Iranian State TV has reportedly warned that every American citizen or military personnel in West Asia is now Tehran's target. So what are the options ahead for Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei? The first is to launch missile strikes on American bases in West Asia. The US has at least 8 permanent bases across the region. Iran could also target the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting a key global oil trade route. Iranian Supreme Leader could also activate the "Axis of Resistance," with the Houthis resuming attacks in the Red Sea. Despite the attack, Tehran could also sprint towards nuclear arms. Watch this report for details.
