Omooba77:
https://punchng.com/benue-killings-tinubu-orders-decisive-action-tasks-alia-on-reconciliation/
Gosh! This is a foreign Fulani herders invasion of the lands of indigenous ethnic groups in Nigeria and Benue State. What reconciliation and dialogue is the very careless press statement from Mr. Onanuga talking about? This is NOT a farmer-herders clash BUT major invasions of communities by foreign Fulani bandits of Hausaland and the Middle Belt region of Nigeria who have killed the indigenous Hausas and others in their states for decades while taking over their ancestral homelands for resettlement.

The APC Governor in Benue and the current President Tinubu of Nigeria have to be very careful with this kind of poorly worded press release from Bayo Onanuga because it suggests that it's a farmer-herders issue but NO! Even several Hausas communities have been attacked by these minority foreign Fulanis who come in through the borders and go ahead to take over other indigenous Nigerians ancestral homeland in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina which are in Hausaland, based on available intelligence, etc.

The current President 'Bola Tinubu is NOT being properly briefed about what is going on and he will do well to immediately relieve Nuhu Ribadu of his current position of the NSA (and move him to another position because he is from the minority Fulani and is NOT telling Tinubu the FULL security report about these foreign Fulanis from Mali, Niger Republic, Cameroon, etc). The Governors of the affected indigenous Hausa States are ALSO Fulanis (as revealed by angry Hausas in online videos) and are NOT telling Tinubu the TRUE foreign Fulani herders and bandits invasions situation to protect their tribal kinsmen. President Tinubu and the APC will damage their image irreparable in the mistaken belief that Fulanis are a majority when infact they are NOT and several Hausas (indigenous Hausas number over 80 million in Nigeria, Niger Republic, Northern Ghana, while Fulanis are not even up to 24 million in the whole of Africa) have bluntly revealed in videos I've seen online since 2024 right into 2025 that the Governors of many of the North Western Nigeria Hausa States right in Hausaland are the minority Fulani who have surreptitiously planted themselves in positions and the Hausas say they are tired of the Fulani domination right in their lands as a result of the killings of their people. This is the time for all Nigerians to act, put pressure on the Federal legislatures and have Nigeria restructure Nigeria through rapid constitutional amendments to whittle down the insidious minority Fulani influence.

Tinubu has to smell the coffee as a Yoruba man and Nigerian to deal with this minority Fulani political hegemony otherwise he will lose that 2027 election and be blamed eternally for the atrocities committed by these Fulanis regardless. The President and the APC are undermining themselves by pampering the Fula obstinacy and Tinubu doesn't need the votes of the minority Fulani to win any election because many indigenous Nigerian ethnic groups in all the regions of Nigeria are simply angry and fed up with the killings of indigenous Nigerians by foreign Fulanis who have been protected from prosecution by their kinsmen who are descendants of foreign Fulanis as well over the decades since the early 2000s during the former President Obasanjo years. If the Federal Government and affected states are able to jointly tackle this menace of random, premeditated killings by these foreign minority Fulani invaders using advanced satellite tracking technologies, attack and surveillance drones, boots on the ground, community and State police structures because in reality, security is LOCAL, etc, then Governor Alia and Tinubu's re-elections for instance are partly guaranteed because voters want results! Enough of the pampering of these foreign minority Fulani invaders. It's shameful that a minority group of colonisers are attacking much bigger Nigerian ethnic groups several times larger than them and Nigerians are embarrassingly looking on foolishly. That's a shame on everyone with ancestral roots in Nigeria. Period.

Trump administration considers adding 36 countries to travel ban list

By Adam Taylor
The United States is considering restricting entry to citizens of an additional 36 countries in what would be a significant expansion of the travel ban announced by the Trump administration early this month, according to a State Department memo reviewed by The Washington Post.

Among the new list of countries that could face visa bans or other restrictions are 25 African nations, including significant U.S. partners such as Egypt and Djibouti, plus countries in the Caribbean, Central Asia and several Pacific Island nations.

A State Department spokesperson said the agency would not comment on internal deliberations or communications. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Such a move would mark another escalation in the Trump administration’s aggressive crackdown on immigration.

Follow live updates on the Trump administration. We’re tracking Trump’s progress on campaign promises and legal challenges to his executive orders and actions.

End of carousel
The memo, which was signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and sent Saturday to U.S. diplomats who work with the countries, said the governments of listed nations were being given 60 days to meet new benchmarks and requirements established by the State Department. It set a deadline of 8 a.m. Wednesday for them to provide an initial action plan for meeting the requirements.

The memo identified varied benchmarks that, in the administration’s estimation, these countries were failing to meet. Some countries had “no competent or cooperative central government authority to produce reliable identity documents or other civil documents,” or they suffered from “widespread government fraud.” Others had large numbers of citizens who overstayed their visas in the United States, the memo said.

Other reasons included the availability of citizenship by monetary investment without a requirement of residency and claims of “antisemitic and anti-American activity in the United States” by people from those countries. The memo also stated that if a country was willing to accept third-country nationals who were removed from the United States or enter a “safe third country” agreement, it could mitigate other concerns

It was not immediately clear when the proposed travel restrictions would be enforced if the demands were not met.

The countries facing scrutiny in the memo: Angola; Antigua and Barbuda; Benin; Bhutan; Burkina Faso; Cabo Verde; Cambodia; Cameroon; Democratic Republic of Congo; Djibouti; Dominica; Ethiopia; Egypt; Gabon; Gambia; Ghana; Ivory Coast; Kyrgyzstan; Liberia; Malawi; Mauritania; Niger; Nigeria; Saint Kitts and Nevis; Saint Lucia; Sao Tome and Principe; Senegal; South Sudan; Syria; Tanzania; Tonga; Tuvalu; Uganda; Vanuatu; Zambia; and Zimbabwe.

The list represents a significant expansion of a presidential proclamation issued June 4, when the United States fully restricted the entry of individuals from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. The United States also had partially restricted the entry of travelers from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela under that order.

Democrats and other critics of the Trump administration have described its efforts to issue blanket travel bans on selected nations as xenophobic and bigoted, pointing to President Donald Trump’s efforts to block travel from Muslim-majority nations in his first term and the high number of African and Caribbean nations targeted during this term.

Early in his first term, Trump attempted to restrict travel from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Libya. The initial version of the ban caused confusion and chaos at airports. It faced numerous legal challenges until the Supreme Court upheld the third version of it in June 2018.

While the travel ban was rescinded under the Biden administration, Trump repeatedly pledged to reinstate it on the campaign trail, stating it would be “bigger than before.”

On Inauguration Day, the White House issued an executive order calling on U.S. agencies, including the State Department, to look for “countries throughout the world for which vetting and screening information is so deficient as to warrant a partial or full suspension on the admission of nationals from those countries.”

Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia... C'mon, these guys want to exclude and hit hard on the major Caribbean Islands that offer Golden Visas... Excluding one.

The countries facing scrutiny in the memo: Angola; Antigua and Barbuda; Benin; Bhutan; Burkina Faso; Cabo Verde; Cambodia; Cameroon; Democratic Republic of Congo; Djibouti; Dominica; Ethiopia; Egypt; Gabon; Gambia; Ghana; Ivory Coast; Kyrgyzstan; Liberia; Malawi; Mauritania; Niger; Nigeria; Saint Kitts and Nevis; Saint Lucia; Sao Tome and Principe; Senegal; South Sudan; Syria; Tanzania; Tonga; Tuvalu; Uganda; Vanuatu; Zambia; and Zimbabwe.

The ORIGINAL crash video was shot on a smart phone by a 17-year-old boy named Aryan who only came from the village to spend time with relatives living close to the airport. He was just having fun recording videos of planes taking off when the ill-fated Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner came into view with the propeller sound indicating that the "RAT" had already activated.

Aryan had come under scrutiny from the security agents according to the report for recording the video, but there have been appeals for the boy not to be harrased any further.

The Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo Airport, Onueke, Ebonyi State has started commercial Air flight operations as its maiden commercial flight landed in the Airport on Friday with passengers.

The aircraft-United Nigeria Airlines with registration 5N-8WV landed at the airport at exactly 10:30am.

The Airline carried passengers from Abuja to the airport.

One of the passengers, Emmanuel Nwafor described the landing of the aircraft on the airport as a dream come through.

“We’ve yearned and at a point we were even agitating because the volume of investment in this airport by the state government is something this airport should have been classified as the best in the country but we are seeing a lot of delay in commencement.

“But today, history is made, we have broken the jinx and I’m privileged to be part of the partaker of what God has done for Ebonyi State.

“The flight was very smooth. there was no turbulence the take off and the landing was very perfect”, he said.

Another passenger who landed at the airport, Professor Chigozie Ogbu said the landing of the commercial flight, shows that Ebonyi State has arrived.

“This is the first flight and I am lucky to be part of the passengers that landed here.

“It was a very smooth landing. The runway is one of the best in the country and it was a good landing, as good as any place in the world and I flew from Abuja”, he said.

Former Chairman, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam who was among passengers that were boarding for Abuja from the airport, said he was happy for the boarding and congratulated the state for the commencement of commercial flight operations in the airport.

“They have started very well and I am impressed with the facilities that I saw at the airport. They need to beef it up and make the flight more regularly”, Mbam stated.

The State Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for ensuring that flight operations commence in the airport.

She disclosed that another flight will take off on Monday next week from Lagos and land on the airport and also from the airport and land in Lagos.

“More are yet to come because on Monday we’re taking off from Lagos to here and we’re taking off from here to Lagos

“We just pray that people should not miss their flight because some of them really missed their flight today. They should please adhere strictly to it, we are not joking since we have started and there’s no going back. We are moving on” the Commissioner said.

I still remember watching live on television the U.S. troops invasion of Panama in December 1989 in order to arrest the then military dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega. He was later smoked out of where he hid for refuge and flown right back to the United States in January 1990 for trial due to his involvement in the illicit hard drugs trade between Latin America and the United States. The U.S. has zero-tolerance for any drug barons or drug mules and there's NO pleas bargaining for such crimes.

This is sounding more like a broken record already by "wet blankets." It's BETTER to keep your heads low while in the Diaspora and stop gloating at your ancestral country of birth. Diasporans need the opportunities offered from both environments to thrive instead of sniggering at Nigeria.

After all, whose gonna lift Nigeria up if we all don't return at intervals and collaborate with folks on the motherland via the use of technology-based tools for facetime information sharing and collaboration on how to remove inneficiences in the political, social and economic ecosystems.

The Diasporans of various descents (in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom over the many decades) from Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, South Korean, Indian, Jewish, etc, have largely been instrumental in bringing disruptive innovations and perspectives back into their countries of ancestry origin not just through remittances but actual sharing of knowledge and business investments.

The Russians (and the Chinese) are definitely helping Iran with technologies and therefore are undermining themselves and global security indirectly and directly because the Iranian Shiite rulers since the 1979 ouster of the Shah of Iran have been involved in outrightly sponsoring terror groups in Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza, Libya, Syria, and other areas of the world such as Africa.

The Iranians have also supplied drones made on their home soil to Russia during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War.

The Iranians must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons capability otherwise they will share the knowledge with these terror groups. Period.

Five persons including two Nigerians were caught by TG Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) cops on Friday in Golconda. Police seized 20 grams of cocaine, 45 grams of MDMA and 20 grams of ecstasy from the accused.

The two Nigerians – Okoro Cosmos Ramsey and Chimezie Boniface Adikea – and other three, Veerapalli Lakshmipathi, Romi Bharat Kalyani and Abdul Jafar Khan, were arrested during simultaneous searches at two different houses.

All the five knew each other as they were lodged in the same barracks during their earlier prison stint in Chanchalguda jail.

"After coming out of jail, Ramsey shifted to Vinayak Nagar, Golconda, and later Adikea joined him. They were procuring cocaine and MDMA from one James, a Mumbai resident, and selling it to Lakshmipathi and other peddlers," a TGANB official said

Officials said Lakshmipathi was in Bangalore when he received a call from Cosmos that he had 20 grams of cocaine and 30 grams of MDMA. Lakshmipathi informed the other two in Hyderabad to buy the drugs for him by the time he returned to the city, the official said.

Dr Ope Banwo led the Naija Lives Matter structure within the Obidients Movement. He developed an app for the movement. However he has had a few clashes with Obidients.

His first clash occured when he was asked to pay some money to join a Peter Obi Support Group and to collapse his Naija Lives Matter structure into the support group. He refused. That was in 2022.

His second clash occurred after the elections when he tweeted that the elections were over and he was going to reconcile with his friends that he argued with during the campaigns (he reconciled with Segalink). He said that everybody should move on since elections were over. Obidients attacked him for this message.

This present clash occurred because he has been away for Twitter for a while and he came back to see that Obidients were attacking Akin Olaoye (Akin Tollgate) and accusing him of being a mole. He condemned the attacks, but he was also attacked by Obidients.

https://x.com/opebanwo/status/1932138611228438973?t=OQ9N0p5v3S5vg9BXGGj4Kw&s=19[/quote]Instead of addressing the strong concerns of the Yorubas and others who constitute that group of Obi supporters, the tribal irredendists and paid online troll farms among them relentlessly chose to deflect and ignore the genuine concerns of tribal bigotry and cyberbullying raise by these men against them, which shows that many Obi supporters NEVER had one drop of democratic ideals in them. It was these same groups of rabid Obi supporters (largely from the tribe east of river Niger) who shamefully went on (from 2023 right into 2024) openly calling on NL and other major Internet platforms for a military coup to be staged against President Tinubu by well-known NL monikers still operating here with some of them still getting rewarded with their thread posts being pushed to the NL frontpage when they should have been penalized with lengthy NL bans by the Mods for violating NL rules due to anti-democratic activities here.

It's good that Ope Banwo (a trained U.S. Attorney) and others have woken up to reality. These are some of the many Yoruba folks who [based off of the FACT that even when Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN was active politically from the early 1950s, Yorubas didn't largely vote in one direction for him because of personal principles and individual needs] made Peter to win Lagos State by just 3,000 votes while Tinubu came second on his home turf [despite laying the foundations for the emergence of iconic Lagos infrastructural projects such as the Lekki Deep Sea Port in Ibeju-Lekki, Lekki Free Trade Zone, LFTZ, the relocation of Dangote Petrochemical Refinery to Lagos State, the establishment of several key Lagos State Agencies, etc], Obi wouldn't have won Lagos if the LARGELY Yoruba Xtian subset of voters hadn't voted for him because of the so-called Muslim-Muslim talk and more.

The highly IRRESPONSIBLE cyberbullying by these Peter Obi supporters of Mercy Johnson and her Edo-born husband because of their links to the APC, Joke Silva-Jacob, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Prof Wole Soyinka, Femi Kuti, and many more using massive disinformation and tribalistic posts that many discerning folks like me noticed on NL in the 2023 Presidential election cycle coming from the Ibo elements on multiple NL threads aided by paid ipob online troll farms (spread around Europe, North America, Nigeria, South Africa, etc, using well-known monikers) that the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video of 2022 had EXPOSED for deliberately spreading massive disinformation and toxic hate speech with tools given to them such as free laptops, free mobile phones, and free Internet data, including free salaries to destabilize Nigeria and trigger interethnic wars with FAKE news on Facebook, X, YouTube, and other social platforms.

People must learn to respect one another due to the vast regional cultural differences and sensitivities in a multiethnic society such as Nigeria. The consequences will be dire for ignoring these cultural sensitivities because the different subgroups of Yorubas historically have a culture of NOT turning the other cheek, or forgive and don't forget wrongs done to them. This is why Ogun the Yoruba deity of "War and Iron" was and still is venerated. Prof. Wole Soyinka emphasized on this fact in a Netflix documentary "Bigger Than Africa" showing the documented exploits of many Yorubas who revolted and led the liberation struggles in Latin America during the enslavement of Africans in Brazil, Cuba, etc. Ask the Ibadan folks (who are famous for their republican ideals and warrior mentality being historically warrior descendants) for instance who will be laughing with you but take revenge at the right time of their choosing if you are obstinate in not making amends to your overbearing and disrespectful ways.

PoliticsRe: Call Tompolo To Order - Itsekiris Cry To Tinubu, Oborevwori by Konquest: 3:13pm On Jun 15, 2025
coputa:
Itsekiri people in Warri, Delta State have called on President Bola Tinubu, Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and relevant security agencies to come to their aid, following alleged threat by the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, Oweizide Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo and his people.

Communities allegedly affected by the threat include Ijaghala, Kantu, Obodo, Omadino, Ugborodo and other Itsekiri towns.

A stakeholder, who spoke on behalf of the Itsekiri people, Alex Oritsegbeyiwa Eyengho, in a Save Our Soul message to the government, alleged that there was an existential threat to his people in the hands of the Ijaws, particularly those of Gbaramatu, under the watch of Tompolo.

He said, “The urgent Save Our Souls cry is a cry borne out of Ijaghala and Kantu existential threat in the hands of the Ijaws, particularly those of Gbaramatu, under the watch of Tompolo.

”The death and arson threats reportedly issued to Ijaghala, Kantu, Obodo, Omadino, Ugborodo and other Itsekiri communities became intense recently when videos made by the Spokesman of Gbaramatu-Ijaw, Godspower Gbenekama and one other Ijaw youths began to trend on various social media platforms.

"The unacceptable gun-on-the-head reprieve conditions given by Tompolo and his gang to Kantu and Ijaghala communities is that the leadership of both communities should compulsorily address a press conference, where they must announce to the world that the Gbaramatu-Ijaw own both communities, failing which both communities shall be pulverized, sacked and the occupants killed!

“They have successfully got some Kantu people under duress to address the said press conference, and have fixed Friday, June 13, 2025, for the Ijaghala community to follow suit. Since the very unwilling Ijaghala community is next, there is palpable tension everywhere. I am not in doubt whatsoever of the capacity of Tompolo and his gang to carry out their threat against Ijaghala community.”

Eyengho also said, “During the wake of the endless fratricidal Warri crisis in the late 90s, Ijaghala community was the first community along the Escravos River to be completely pulverized and sacked by Tompolo and his Gbaramatu-Ijaw gang, and as such made indigenes and residents of the community to become internally displaced persons in Nigeria for over a decade. They did it before. They can do it again.

“A few years ago, the Ijaws did everything to enforce their burial culture on Ijaghala to the extent that they forcefully exhumed the corpse of my brother who was buried in the usual Itsekiri culture and reburied him in tandem with Ijaw burial culture! What could be more bizarre? The Ijaws have continued to use force of arms and intimidation from time to time on Ijaghala community as if the people are conquered!

“At some point, the leadership of Ijaghala community was pressurized to publish that the community wished to leave Mandagho Ward in Ugborodo federated communities and join Gbaramatu Ward allegedly as directed by their king Tompolo.

”Apparently, the Ijaws are vexed that Ijaghala was captured by INEC and other Government official documents as an Itsekiri Community. The community, of course, warded off the pressure.

“Our position has always been that the three(3) units currently in Ijaghala community are an integral part of Mandagho Ward in Ugborodo federated communities. We cannot exit this Ward for any reason and join Gbaramatu. If anything, we are pushing for a distinct Ward from our 3 units to be known as Ijaghala Ward.

Eyengho urged President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to call Tompolo to order and ensure he stops tormenting the people of Ijaghala and Kantu Communities with an alleged threat to forcefully evacuate and pulverize the communities if the leaderships refuse to abide by their “weird” and “insane” orders.

https://dailypost.ng/2025/06/12/delta-call-tompolo-to-order-itsekiris-cry-to-tinubu-oborevwori/
Even Tompolo's mother is an Itsekiri. Most of those Itsekiri communities were founded over 700 years ago by Ijebu people in that area. Nobody accomodated them and other Yoruba founders of Itsekiri communities in Delta State from largely Ilaje (Ugborodo), Ife (Ureju) ancestral roots, etc, according to the totally baseless posts of some ignorant people on page 1 of this thread.[/b] This is aside the year 1480 migration of Prince Ginuwa (the son of Oba Olua of Benin and his Ile Ife-born biological mother who was the only non-Benin-born Queen of Oba Olua) with 70 of his followers to live with the Ijebus (Itsekiris) of Ode Itsekiri and Chief Lenuwa received them well. Ginuwa thus

The oil and gas-rich Omadino, Ugborodo, Ogidigben, Ode-Itsekiri are some of the ancient Itsekiri communities that were founded by the Ijebus from the larger Yorubaland and this is why the Itsekiri language they speak is understood by Ijebus, Ikales and Ilajes. Just last year, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams visited the Olu of Itsekiri on a courtesy visit and affirmed to the media the close bond between the Itsekiris and the larger Yorubas who are their close relatives. Gbaramatu itself is an Itsekiri territory and the Supreme Court confirmed and affirmed that the areas the Ijaws are occupying belong to the Itsekiris. The so-called Gbaramatu was never a kingdom but ONLY created artificially only in much recent history. The Ijaws are the aggressors here and are definitely depending on the use of jazz and Egbesu because they do NOT believe in the rule of law and what the Supreme Court says. BUT if the Itsekiris decide to link up with their Ijebu, Ilaje, Ife, and Benin kith and kin, the Ijaws led by Tompolo will face intense physical and metaphysical forces. They should stay off as a minority from threatening the Itsekiris from here on out! The Ijebu metaphysical forces alone can deal with the Ijaw encroachment nuisance.

The Ijaws are actually of migrant Ghanaian origin or boat people who arrived in that region living largely on water and this why the Ijaws of the central Niger Delta are the ONLY ethnic group in Nigeria that practice the matrilineal system just like in Ghana unlike other Nigerian ethnic groups their immediate neighbours. The Ogoni Senator Magnus Abe ALSO CLEARLY stated on his Website that the Ijaws are migrants or boat people from Ghana.

Even the Ogoni people are more truthful about their own ancestral origins and the Ogoni Traditional Council head affirmed in an interview I read in Punch newspaper years back that the Ogoni people are a mixture of Ibibio and migran boat people and fisherman from Ghana and this is why their names are similar to the names used in parts of Ghana.

Without a shadow of doubt, there is still gonna be full-scale war in the near-future over the obstinacy of the Ijaws who are of Ghana origin and are trying to steal lands from other ethnic groups. That's the usual character of greed from some of them once oil and gas is discovered in any new location. The Ijaws have even been stealing lands from one another (their fellow Ijaws of other clans for decades) as seen in events that took place in Bayelsa State (back in the 1990s into the early 2000s) including the encroachment of migrants fishermen from Nembe now in Bayelsa State who were accomodated by their Kalabari cousins in the Soku fishing settlement ONLY for the Nembe migrants decades later to start claiming that Soku belongs to them because of the multi-million USD Soku Gas project. This led to an all-out war from the 1970s and it peaked during GEJs Presidency and this led to the boundary issues between Rivers State and Bayelsa State.
TravelRe: The Moment The Sole Survivor Of The Air India Crash Walked To The Ambulance(pix) by Konquest: 3:13pm On Jun 15, 2025
Glimpsetv:
The only person who survived the tragic Air India crash, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, described the terrifying moment the plane failed to take off properly—and his complete disbelief at surviving it.

Ramesh, a British citizen with Indian roots, was on board the flight bound for London. The plane crashed just moments after departing from Ahmedabad, a city in northwestern India, on Thursday afternoon. Tragically, 241 people on the aircraft lost their lives, along with at least 29 people on the ground. By late Friday, rescue workers had found 25 more bodies in the wreckage.

This crash is now considered one of India’s deadliest aviation disasters. It was also the first crash involving a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner since the aircraft was introduced in 2009, according to the Aviation Safety Network.

Speaking from a government hospital, Ramesh told India’s national broadcaster what he remembered. According to him, the aircraft seemed to freeze in the air just seconds after takeoff. He recalled green and white lights flashing and the engines roaring, but the plane failed to climb. It then crashed into a residential building that housed a medical college hostel.

He witnessed the horrifying sight of passengers and crew members dying around him. His own brother, who was traveling with him, was among those who didn’t survive.

Ramesh had been seated in seat 11A. That part of the plane slammed into the ground floor of the building. After the impact, he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and managed to push himself out through a nearby open door.

“When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t believe I was still alive,” he said. He remembered seeing pieces of the destroyed plane scattered all around.

Though injured, especially with burns on his left hand, Ramesh somehow walked away from the crash site—still in shock. A few local residents saw him and helped him reach an ambulance, which rushed him to the hospital.

Back home, his family was in turmoil. His other brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, told Sky News that Ramesh had video-called their father shortly after the crash. “He said, ‘The plane crashed. I can’t find my brother. I don’t see any passengers. I don’t even know how I’m alive or how I got out,’” Nayan recalled.

Ramesh also contacted relatives in Leicester, UK. His cousin, Ajay Valgi, said Ramesh only told the family that he was okay. "He just said he's fine—nothing more," Valgi said. Ramesh is married and has a young son. The family, while thankful for his survival, remains heartbroken over the loss of his brother.

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visited the crash site on Friday. He also met Ramesh in the hospital. “I told him what I saw,” said Ramesh. “He asked me about my health.”

According to Dr. Dhaval Gameti, Ramesh had multiple injuries and was initially confused but was now stable and out of danger. He even kept his boarding pass with him while in the hospital.

“He’s recovering well and could be discharged very soon,” Dr. Gameti confirmed.

Eyewitnesses were stunned to see the lone survivor—bruised, burned, but alive—limping his way to the ambulance that carried him away from the scene of so much tragedy.

Ramesh's grand survival (with his Air India boarding pass still on him and well-preserved) despite the horrendous plane crash and explosion on impact with the buildings on the ground is a "9th wonder of the modern world."

I thought it was a hoax until I saw Ramesh who is a practicing Hindu and the flight ticket and thought briefly that he may have used Indian metaphysical powers fortify himself to escape (like others have been said to do in Yorubaland and parts of Nigeria when accidents or dangers occur).

I will still continue to fly regularly since it's still the fastest means of travel, but my eyes are now more focussed on airlines with Airbus or Embraer planes in their fleet until Boeing sorts itself out especially with that story of the Boeing whistleblower who was found dead after talking about structural defects on some Boeing planes.

What is wrong with some of you to the extent you are so miserable and joyless? Did you arrive the world depressed and bitter?

PBAT was not the leader under who Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Ogoni Nine were convicted and recieved "punishment".

He has done what is fitting as the leader of Nigeria today and the Saro-Wiwa family have thanked him. Move on, give credit where due and stop crying more than the bereaved.
Imagine the arrant insult (by that boy on page one) on the memory of the innocent Ken Saro-Wiwa and his fellow kinsmen who were framed up in 1994 and execute in 1995 despite the robust intervention of the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Nations. This was an event that I followed back then and those who framed Ken Saro-Wiwa up confessed later that they were bribed to give FALSE testimony at that Military tribunal.
Read the Amnesty International reports on the unjust executions which was simply an opportunity for that corrupt military dictator called Abacha to take revenge against Kennfor resisting the exploitation of his people by the military rulers and Shell.

That boy you quoted is one of the dysfunctional youngsters here who is still in his twenties (based on an earlier post he made and he's from the tribe east of river Niger), but engages in useless sophistry on this discussion forum. You gave a very succinct response to him there.

It's time for the super moderators to start removing and bannings these creeps and dysfunctional posters who derail threads openly because it's a pure violation of NL rules. That so-called block button is ONLY superficial and doesn't solve the problem of toxic disinformation and trolling by paid ipob troll farms online. The registration process of new NL accounts with free throwaway email accounts is what has to be looked into urgently by the guy who established this Website.

RomanceRe: Princess Iman Pahlavi Weds Bradley Sherman (Photos) by Konquest: 12:14pm On Jun 15, 2025
BlackViper:
Princess Iman Pahlavi, the granddaughter of the last royal ruler Shah of Iran, Emperor Mohammad Pahlavi, has tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend in the City of Love after the couple's court marriage in New York.

Iman, 31, and American Jewish businessman Bradley Sherman said 'I do' in a private ceremony in Paris as members of the Iranian royal family gathered in the French capital to bless the newlyweds on June 8.

The daughter of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and Princess Yasmine Pahlavi, Iman wore an ethereal, off-shoulder Elie Saab gown with detacheable sleeves as her American beau picked a black tuxedo for the day.

According to Iranian media outlet Kayhan Life, the ceremony was attended by Queen Farah - who was 21 when she married Shah Mohammad Reza in Tehran in 1959 - as well as 'prominent Iranian figures'.

The first images from the couple's lavish Parisian wedding were posted on Instagram by Iman's sister Noor Pahlavi and other attendees, with Iman reposting the snaps on her own social media accounts.

US-born Iman, who works as a senior manager at American Express in New York, walked down the aisle with her father - Iran's former crown prince Reza.

One picture showed Bradley, who is the CEO of tech firm Luchy, looking lovingly at his new bride, while another was captured during the couple's first dance as husband and wife.

The large Iranian-American community (with most being the direct descendants of the exiles from the 1979 Iranian Shiite invasion and overthrow of the Shah of Iran) do NOT have issues with the Jews. Matter of FACT, based off of my advanced knowledge of decades of international history, when the Shah of Iran was on the throne, the Jewish community in Tehran alone was high and Shiraz in Iran was the major epicenter of Jewish immigration from other countries of Europe and the Caucasus region into Iran by passenger ships many decades ago.

Historically, Cyrus the Great (the King of Kings or Shah han Shah) who founded the Achaemenid Empire in 550 BCE and ruled it until his death in 530 BCE, was a Zoroastrian by religion till he died and was the Emperor of the Persian Empire that colonised the former Babylonians in 539 BCE and hence the ancient Jews who were colonised by the Babylonians.

The Persian (Iranian) religion of Zoroastrianism for those who don't know gave birth to the most dominant Pharisaic branch of Judaism (the term Pharisees being etymologically DERIVED from "Persian or Parsi" referring to modern IRAN) the Persian empire's colonial rule of Israel which is an imperfect copy of the Zoroastrian religion. This is why it is CLEARLY stated that the God of the bible refered to Cyrus the Great great as "My anointed" in the book of Isaiah 45:1 which is just a further affirmation of Persian propaganda in the Old testament bible. Now, why would the supposed God of the Jews allow the Jews to be colonised or subjugated by a person of another ethnicity and religion of a Zoroastrianism? It was all Persian religious colonization and propaganda in the so-called Old testament bible texts through the use of the Persian Magis who are the Chief Priests of the Zoroastrian religion (who brought in the teaching of "Ahuramazda" meaning the concept of "one universal God of heaven" with the "Shah or King" being the spiritual representative of God or Ahuramazda on Earth) to the Jews as opposed to the polytheistic religions they practiced in ancient times (the spelling "El" as a suffix refers to the concept of Gods NOT one God in ancient Israeli) which is why it is recorded that there was resistance to the foreigners who "wanted to rebuild the temple" which in reality is their own temple based on their own Zoroastrian religion in Jerusalem. It is this new religion that metamorphosed into the Pharisees (Pharisaic branch of Judaism) who are the largest historical branch in Judaism today).

Cyrus the Great supposedly allowed Jewish people to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple, BUT their was resistance to that? Resistance by who? The ORIGINAL followers of the older Israeli religion who resisted the new religion of Cyrus the Great and his religious Chief Priests or agents called Magis of the Zoroastrian religion who brought a new religion from Persian to Israel. This is common in every Empire or colony where the conquerors impose OR bring in their religion, culture, and language on the colonized people.

So historically, the Persians and Jews have had strong historical connections from the days of Cyrus the Great (The King of Kings or Shah han Shah) several centuries back.

There are many advanced modern books I've read since the 1980s on comparative religion that cover this topic and historical religious relationship between ancient Persia and the Jews.

A horrendous aviation experience just 32 seconds after liftoff involving the first ever Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash since it was first produced in 2011.

It's totally surreal that 1 person walked out of that plane alive despite the explosive impact on hitting the ground. Seeing the video of the British-Indian guy walking away from the scene (after leaving his strapped seat near the emergency exit door of the Dreamliner wreckage) like he wasn't even on that Air India flight shows the random and non-random nature of human existence. He however lost his brother who was on the same flight heading to London from Ahmedabad Airport with him.

Music/RadioRe: Fela ‘Zombie' Album In 2025 Grammy Hall Of Fame by Konquest: 1:14pm On Jun 14, 2025
TimeManager:

Late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti has been honoured with induction into the 2025 Grammy Hall of Fame for his iconic 1976 album Zombie.

Established in 1973 by the Recording Academy, the Grammy Hall of Fame recognises recordings that are at least 25 years old and hold enduring artistic or historical significance.

Inductees are chosen each year by a dedicated committee made up of distinguished and experienced professionals from various fields within the recording industry.

Femi Kuti, Fela’s eldest son, accepted the award on behalf of the family, describing the recognition as an “honour.”

“Our father’s legacy lives on. We are honoured to accept this Grammy Hall of Fame award on behalf of Fela Anikulapo Kuti,” Femi wrote on X on Wednesday.

“His music continues to inspire and unite people across the world.”

The legendary Afrobeat musician died on August 2, 1997.

Almost thirty years after his passing, Fela Kuti remains a powerful symbol of influence, celebrated for using his music to speak out on issues impacting Nigeria.

Following his early time overseas, Kuti rose to fame in Nigeria during the 1970s alongside his band, Africa 70.

In 1970, he established the Kalakuta Republic, a self-declared commune that symbolically rejected Nigeria’s military regime.

The Kalakuta Republic was demolished during a raid in 1978, and in 1984, Fela was imprisoned by the federal government under Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership.

Following his release, Fela remained active in music, recording and performing throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
The legendary Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Big props!
PoliticsRe: Agbakoba Explains Why Tinubu Can’t Achieve Meaningful Economic Reform by Konquest: 11:19pm On Jun 13, 2025
npppact:
RE: Why Tinubu CAN Deliver Economic Reform , With Facts, Not Feelings

I respect Dr. Agbakoba a lot, but let’s not ignore the facts. Saying Tinubu cannot deliver meaningful economic reform because of the current political structure is half the story, and honestly, it downplays some major steps already taken that many countries are still struggling to get right.

Let’s break it down with intelligent analysis, global data, and real results.

Tinubu Is Laying the Foundation , Real Change Takes Root Before It Shows

Yes, GDP is growing at 3.3%, and no, we may not all feel it yet. But go check how it started in places like India or Indonesia , reforms always start with pain, then progress. If you remove fuel subsidy, unify the Forex market, and clean up corruption, you’ll feel the heat first before the benefits come.

But guess what?

Those changes are exactly what Tinubu is doing:

Key Reforms Already in Motion

1. Fuel Subsidy Gone·

* Saved ₦7 trillion+ yearly, now going into infrastructure, health, and transport.

2. Forex Unification·

* No more multiple exchange rates. Investors now see a fairer system.·
* FDI is already rising, and the black market is shrinking.

3. Roads, Rails, Ports·

*  1,000+ km of roads and major logistics
corridors under construction.·
*  Inland dry ports = more trade and jobs.

4. Power Reforms·

* Siemens partnership is rolling out.·
* States now allowed to generate and distribute power.·
* Lagos and Edo already jumping on it.

5. Agricultural Push·

* Over 3 million farmers already getting inputs, credit, and buyers.·
*  Food inflation is slowing down, still high, but better than before.

Global Experts Agree: Reform First, Then Restructure

* World Bank, IMF, and OECD all say: focus on stabilizing the economy before major power devolution.
* You don’t hand over more power to states when many can’t even pay salaries. First, build capacity. Then restructure.

Tinubu Is Already Working on Restructuring
* A constitutional committee is already reviewing how to give states more power over mining, power, and infrastructure.

* Local government reform is also on the table just not the loud, dramatic type people expect.

 My  final words on this:

The truth is, reform stake time. If Nigeria had kept jumping from plan to plan, we’d still be importing toothpicks and wasting oil money on fake subsidies.

So instead of saying “he can’t,” let’s track what’s already working and demand consistency and speed , not throw away the only real reform train we’ve had in decades.

The hardship is real ,but so is the direction. Let’s not throw away progress because it hasn’t yet matured.

@naijapeoplesprosperitypact
Interesting takes right there. "REFORM FIRST, RESTRUCTURE LATER."
