jaxxy: tinubu and his supporters insulted Goodluck Jonathan
Don't cherry-pick what you want here. Goodluck Jonathan's supporters in the PDP which included many of the NL users who ported to support Peter Obi in the Labor Party (because he is their kinsman) equally, and even far WORSE used massive disinformation and toxic hate speech against the members of the leading opposition parties such as the APC.
Olisa Metuh for instance used the highly offensive term "Janja.weed party" to demonize members of the APC. The insidious Janja.weed of North Sudan committed a lot of crimes including mass rapes, murders, etc, against men, women and children in Darfur, North Sudan, and a PDP member called Olis Metuh used that name to demonize the APC leadership in the 2014 Presidential election cycle.
Nairaland is littered with several of the threads filled with hate speech from PDP followers here who are now mostly in Labor part because of Peter Obi.
saysoo: This man had in the past advocated for one party state as the only solution to Nigeria divisity problems, why is he saying exactly the opposite.
When did he (President Bola Ahmed Tinubu) say that?
Provide a credible sources or forever desist from spreading disinformation here. Tinubu that I know NEVER advocated for any one-party State in the past even when Nigeria had the SDP and NRC back in the early 1990s.
President 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave a very stellar speech today. Kudos to him and his team of advisers.
I'm glad that Ken Saro-Wiwa and his Ogoni kinsmen NOT only got pardoned BUT got honored. That wipe this huge stain and shame from the1995 executions away. CLEARLY one of the BEST days in my lifetime for those of us who witnessed those horrendous Sani Abacha corrupt years of assassinations with the use of the Military Intelligence "Strike Force" team led by that Major Al-Mustapha and his underlings such as Sergeant Rogers (Barnabas Jabila-Mshelia) who pulled the trigger that killed Kudirat Abiola based off of his initial Oputa Panel confessions and more.
Tragedy struck India’s aviation sector on Thursday as Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, News360 Nigeria reports.
Officials confirmed the flight, carrying 242 people including two pilots and 10 cabin crew, went down outside the airport perimeter after issuing a mayday call.
The aircraft was carrying 169 Indian passengers, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese citizens, and one Canadian. Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen rising above the crash site, located near densely populated residential areas in the Gujarat state capital, home to about eight million people.
India’s Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu expressed his devastation over the incident, assuring that rescue and emergency response teams had been swiftly mobilised. “My thoughts and prayers are with all those on board and their families,” he said, directing immediate and coordinated relief efforts to the site.
Air India’s Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran confirmed the crash, describing it as a "devastating event" and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those affected. An emergency response centre and support lines for families have also been activated.
India, despite remarkable growth in its aviation sector, has faced several fatal crashes in recent decades, including a 1996 mid-air collision over New Delhi that killed nearly 350 people, and a 2010 Air India Express disaster in Mangalore that claimed 158 lives. The country’s worst air tragedy remains the 1985 bombing of an Air India Boeing 747 off the Irish coast, which killed all 329 people on board.
The FIRST EVER 787 Dreamliner plane crash in world history (since it first flew in 2011... 14 years ago). NOT a bad record but when you have a huge number of "Souls on board" passing on in one fell swoop and a huge ball of flames on impact with the ground, then you have to be concerned.
That 787 Dreamliner just literally dropped like a rock from the sky. Could this have been a suicide from one of the pilots or just simply a loss of mechanical power? ONLY the black box will tell.
I'm already thinking of NOT flying on any Boeing plane until we get firm answers on what is happening to Boeing. Airbus planes unshakable.
My condolences to the families of the "Souls on board" in this trying moment.
Metrix147: Super Eagles winger and AC Milan star, Samuel Chukwueze, has once again demonstrated his deep love for family and community by building a magnificent mansion worth over ₦465 million for his father, Reverend John Nkasiobi Chukwueze, in their hometown of Umu Chimaelu, Okoko Item, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q13Ug_-mcvY The grand opening of the imposing edifice took place on Tuesday, June 11, 2025, attracting widespread admiration from family members, friends, and well-wishers.
Speaking to ABN TV during the emotional event, Reverend John Nkasiobi Chukwueze, father of the football star, broke down in tears as he thanked God for his son Samuel’s life and achievements.
He emotionally revealed that there was a time he could not properly care for his children due to financial hardship, and at one point, he distanced himself out of frustration and helplessness.
"I cried today because I remember when I had nothing and could not provide for my children. I abandoned them, not because I didn’t love them, but because I was ashamed that I couldn’t give them the life they deserved," he confessed tearfully.
He expressed shock and overwhelming gratitude upon receiving the surprise gift from his son. "I never expected this. When I saw this house, I could not hold back tears. Samuel has made me proud beyond words," he said.
Reverend Chukwueze also revealed that Samuel inherited his footballing talent from him. "When I was younger, I was a great footballer too. It gives me joy to see that my son has taken that same path and is excelling on the global stage."
Offering heartfelt advice to other fathers, he urged them never to neglect or abandon their children, regardless of their financial situation. "I speak from my own experience — never throw away your children because you are poor or struggling. One day, God can turn things around. Samuel is proof of that."
He ended by praying fervently for all his children, especially Samuel, whose success has now lifted the entire family.
In addition to building the mansion, Samuel Chukwueze also extended his generosity to the wider community. During the celebration, he gifted 20 new Tricycles (Keke NAPEP), distributed cash gifts, and awarded educational scholarships to several less privileged individuals in the community.
His actions sparked great joy and celebration across Okoko Item and beyond, as many beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation for his kindness and unwavering commitment to giving back.
"This is not just about building a house," said one community elder. "Samuel is using his blessings to uplift everyone around him. He has shown that true success means lifting others."
Also speaking during the ceremony, Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze, Samuel’s mother, described the gesture as a fulfillment of family prayers and a great blessing to the community.
Speaking further, Samuel Chukwueze’s current manager, Mr. Prince Victor Apugo, popularly known as "Ngwomgwo", praised the football star’s character and generosity.
“Samuel Chukwueze is a very good guy with a human heart — full of feelings, open-minded, very accommodating, and extremely respectful,” Ngwomgwo said.
He advised young people to stay focused and determined in whatever they do. “My message to young youths is: be focused. Stay true to your dreams, work hard, and always remain humble, just as Samuel has done,” he added.
InfoGuru118: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday conferred national honours on several notable Nigerians as part of activities marking the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations, News360 Nigeria reports.
The announcement was made during his State of the Nation address at a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.
Among the recipients was the late Kudirat Abiola, who was posthumously awarded the title of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) for her role in Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle. Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka was also conferred with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) in recognition of his enduring advocacy for justice and human rights.
Others honoured posthumously include Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and members of the Ogoni Nine, who were executed in 1995 for their activism against environmental degradation in the Niger Delta.
In a historic move, President Tinubu also granted a presidential pardon to these late heroes.
“I shall also be exercising my powers under the prerogative of mercy to grant these national heroes a full pardon, together with others whose names shall be announced later in conjunction with the National Council of State,” Tinubu announced.
The president noted that the honours reflect Nigeria’s gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation’s democratic journey.

Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (retired) of the Nigerian Air Force is missing here. He was in the FIRST EVER set of trained Nigerian Air Force officers in the early 1960s and was in the pro-democracy movement as well. I remember that his house off Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos was partly bombed by the military dictatorship goons to intimidate him.
Comrade Olisa Agbakoba too was in the Civil Liberties Organization and was in the pro-democracy movement.
I guess more people will have be honored later. Nigeria truly owes them that in appreciation of those past sacrifices through sweat, tears and blood.
President 'Bola Tinubu and his team of advisers did absolutely well today and the President of Nigeria gave a stellar speech today and even spoke extempore for a while with mental CLARITY.
abc115: President Bola Tinubu Awards CON to Shehu Sani
While other far Northerners stayed off the struggle for the June 12 elections struggles back in the 1990s, Senator Shehu Sani was arrested by Sani Abacha's military junta and locked up for his relentless support of the pro-democracy movement.
He is CLEARLY one of the top 3 Fulanis that I trust on Earth for their noble deeds in speaking up as and when due against atrocious acts even those committed by his own foreign and local Fula kinsmen, NOT the ilk of Nasir El-Rufai or Atiku Abubakar who openly make verbal gaffes at critical turning points from the horrendous support given to killer foreign Fula herdsmen and bandits in Southern Kaduna to the Sokoto-based girl who was set ablaze by a student and Atiku Abubakar couldn't even take a stand with his deleted online message on the issue, etc.
A well-deserved one for all the struggles of Comrade Shehu Sani back in the 1990s and BIG congrats to him and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State who was ALSO a member of the pro-democracy movement. I appreciate these rare men of valor from the far North of Nigeria. They stood firm when the propaganda machinery of the corrupt military dictators using NTA and the so-called ministers of information to mislead the public that this movement was ONLY a Yoruba pro-democracy movement when infact folks from nearly all regions of Nigeria were involved in the struggle.
Olubukola Saraki and his usual sophistry is one to be carefully NOTED if you want to survive around him. I still remember how he won that Senate Presidency as an APC member which enabled that other PDP guy to become the Deputy Senate President. It was messy!
I have to see images of the survivor to believe this. It reminds me of the Dana plane crash into buildings in Lagos as it approached the landing point close to MMA2 from the FCT. I lost some close people onboard that plane.
middlebelter: They were hanged in 1995 by the worst regime in Nigeria's history led by the most wicked Head os State ever, Sanni Abacha
They protested the SPDC's pollution of their land, which stopped them from operating. Not sure if the protest led to loss of lives, but Abacha arrested them and eventually killed them despite all appeals to stop the killing.
Succinctly stated.
A very evil military dictatorship back in the 1990s and yet I heard some highly IRRESPONSIBLE Nigerians online and on radio saying the guy's military rule was better. How foolish can these misguided younger ones be? The Internet is there for due diligence but they wouldn't do that for historical research because of their tribal bigotry and clannish, primordial confirmation biases.
How can any sane person endorse a man who engaged in looting over 4 billion USD of Nigeria's money via the CBN into offshore bank accounts in what is now known as the Abacha loot worldwide? That endorsement of the dictator by some people online and in the media despite all the EVIDENCE available to show the negatives of that man is NOTHING but irresponsible talk and shows that a significant number of Nigerians have NO democratic ideals in them and are far WORSE than the politicians and technocrats in government that they point accusing fingers at. Period.
abc[b]115: "Furthermore, I also confer posthumous national honours on Ken Saro Wiwa (CON), the leader of the Ogoni Nine and his fellow travellers, Saturday Dobee (OON), Nordu Eawo (OON), Daniel Gbooko (OON), Paul Levera (OON), Felix Nuate (OON), Baribor Bera (OON), Barinem Kiobel (OON), and John Kpuine (OON).
I shall also be exercising my powers under the prerogative of mercy to grant these national heroes a full pardon, together with others whose names shall be announced later in conjunction with the National Council of State."
President Bola Tinubu
This is indeed quite emotional for me as a witness of the sequence of events back in the 1990s that led to the death sentence on the Ogoni icons who had acid poured on their bodies to quicken the disintegration of their bodies in the common grave. Ledum Mittee was very fortunate to have escaped this fate that befell his kinsmen back in the memorable and wild years of the 1990s and he is alive today to get that honor or award today.
I indeed appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team of advisers for at least removing this highly embarrassing stain that the very corrupt dictator called Sani Abacha (who stole over 4 billion USD of Nigeria's money through the Central Bank of Nigeria into his offshore bank accounts in the Caribbean, Europe and elsewhere) brought to Nigeria and the Ogoni people in the 1990s despite a strong international pressure from the United States, the United Kingdom and many more countries to STOP the executions. Radio Kudirat (formerly Radio Freedom) then got an extra support and funding from the British government with the use of the BBC World Service HQ at Bush House in London as the transmission site back in the late 1990s (with former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State as the Radio Director in London) because of the killing of Ken Saro-Wiwa, his Ogoni kinsmen and Kudirat Abiola as well in Lagos State (tollgate) area by Sergent Barnabas Jabila (Sergent Rogers) from Southern Borno and his Military Intelligence "Strike Force" team led by Major Al-Mustapha who were under Sani Abacha's employ and directives.
Today has been one of the happiest days for me with the Presidential pardon for the iconic Ken Saro-Wiwa and his Ogoni kinsmen. "Nigeria ko ni baje!"
SmartEnergyng: The long queues of vehicles at stations selling compressed natural gas have become a source of worry to Nigerians using the cleaner fuel.
The PUNCH reports that truck owners now keep vigil at the NIPCO CNG station in Ibafo as they wait in the queue to refill their cylinders.
Commenting on this, a former National Secretary of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mr Mike Osatuyi, lamented that vehicles now spend hours in queues to get their cylinders filled with CNG.
While saying this was caused by the limited number of CNG stations, Osatuyi likened the current situation to past fuel scarcity episodes.
Speaking with newsmen recently, he said, “Vehicles often spend hours—and trucks, days—at CNG filling stations due to inadequate service capacity. Specific areas like Zuba-Kubwa Road, Abuja Airport Road, the Mountain of Fire area of Ibafo on the Ibadan Expressway, and the Ibadan Tollgate are just a few examples where users experience long wait times.”
According to him, the “poor and uncoordinated implementation of the CNG initiative has turned it into a national embarrassment despite its noble intent.”
Osatuyi criticised the Federal Government over the inadequate infrastructure that continues to hamper the effective implementation of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, nearly two years after its launch.
The long queues of vehicles at stations selling compressed natural gas have become a source of worry to Nigerians using the cleaner fuel.

While saying this was caused by the limited number of CNG stations, Osatuyi likened the current situation to past fuel scarcity episodes.
Osatuyi lauded President Bola Tinubu’s initial enthusiasm and patriotic drive to introduce CNG as an alternative fuel source at the beginning of his administration.
He noted that had similar efforts been made two decades earlier, petrol consumption in Nigeria could have been reduced by as much as 50 per cent by now.
Highlighting the numerous benefits of CNG, he said these include economic viability, environmental sustainability, reduced air pollution, lower transportation costs, and improved safety.
From the newspaper article, it's obvious that NOT all the major CNG stations that have experienced long queues due to limited CNG stations in specific areas. It CLEAR that it's the out-bound areas located along interstate routes that are experiencing this challenge.
While CNG fuel is still the cheapest fuel source in Nigeria and way cheaper than PMS, with lesser visits to the mechanic's garage, their is an urgent need for NNPCL to speed up the rate of deployment of gas pipelines and CNG infrastructure in all the regions especially along out-bound interstate routes that witness heavy vehicular traffic. Period.
SmartEnergyng: Freedom of Information in Motion: Firm Files Formal Transparency Request Against PI-CNG
In a decisive move to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s clean energy transition, C & L Smart Energy Solutions has formally filed a Freedom of Information (FOI) request against the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PI-CNG).
The request, filed on Friday, 25th April 2025, and addressed to the Director of Program at the PCNGI Secretariat, was submitted pursuant to Sections 1, 2, and 4 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011.
It seeks urgent access to critical data relating to:
✅ Distribution records of CNG kits to conversion centers (names, dates, locations, quantities) ✅ Approved lists of centers and approval criteria since 2023 ✅ Records of infractions, disciplinary actions, and third-party escalations (e.g., EFCC referrals) ✅ Official grievance and redress procedures ✅ Financial reports on budgeted versus disbursed funds under the CNG subsidy program
C & L Smart Energy asserts that full transparency is necessary to safeguard public confidence, promote fairness among independent operators, and prevent the abuse of public resources within the national CNG rollout.
According to the FOI Act, public institutions must respond within 7 days of receipt of the request—or provide a legally justifiable reason for refusal—failing which the matter can escalate to legal and regulatory enforcement.
This landmark request directly tests the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of Nigeria’s energy future.
C & L Smart Energy calls on all stakeholders, media houses, civil society organizations, and independent operators to demand full disclosure and to defend the public interest in ensuring that the PI-CNG initiative serves Nigerians fairly and transparently.
Bump.
Indeed, it's very important to do this due diligence. I read that one of the beneficiaries diverted the CNG kits for his own private sale and was busted. ALSO those private citizens and commercial transportation owners who have benefited from the CNG-FUEL convertion kits MUST be made to charge lower transportation fares. It's totally unkind that this CNG move that was meant to lower the costs of transportation and foods haulage from the farm hubs to the markets (thereby triggering lower food costs hasn't been properly implemented).
The next 1 year MUST be used to enforce this CNG cost lowering of food items or otherwise NOTHING for President Bola Tinubu's reelection including that of many APC folks over there in Nigeria. Period.
Yes, that's the video. Punch newspaper also reported back then in 2017 that Willie Obiano accused Peter Obi of owing Anambra State contractors billions of Naira far more than what he claimed he saved in Fidelity bank.
LegendHero: Lol, you’ve now turn this thing to comedy.
You initially lied Obi left 86bn showing a useless conjured document. What amaze me is that just 5 days ago, Obi himself said he only left 30bn+, so how exactly did you come to the conclusion of 86bn when the man in question said 30bn+ himself?
Then Obiano the Governor also said Obi is a liar who initially lied he left 75bn. You can see discrepancies everywhere.
Stop bandying useless doc, you are talking to Legendhero. Anambra government have a website where they keep the records, look for 2013 data you will see the full account details there and come back here to apologize to me for believing Obi lies.
Succinctly stated @Legend... Well done for schooling them here.
Giftimoni: Peter Obi's claim during a recent interview that he left $150 million and ₦36 billion in the coffers of Anambra State is dishonest, fallacious, misleading and typical Obi doublespeak.
The truth is that Peter Obi is a manipulator and economic terrorist who knew what he was doing when he made that inaccurate statement.
Please fact-check me: Peter Obi actually left a debt of ₦127 billion that was due IMMEDIATELY after his successor, Governor Willie Obiano, took office. This debt mainly consisted of unpaid monies owed to contractors engaged by the Peter Obi administration.
More of the debt came from approvals Peter Obi made as he was about to leave office. He deliberately timed these contract approvals to be due when he handed over to Mr. Obiano, so he could claim that he left money and Governor Obiano squandered it.
In his last days in office, Mr. Obi was accused by his successor of employing thousands of new staff for the Anambra State Government at the last minute, without making provision for their salaries. When Mr. Obiano took over, these workers' wages became due.
If you take into account the value of the Naira in 2014, when Peter Obi handed over to Governor Willie Obiano, which was approximately ₦150 to $1, the ₦127 billion debt that Mr. Peter Obi left behind was worth around $847 million, far outstripping the so-called money he claimed to have left behind.
Also, the money Mr. Obi claimed to have left behind was not all in cash. Much of it was in supposed assets, which were overvalued by Mr. Peter Obi. When the new Obiano government surveyed the quantity, it found it to be grossly exaggerated, with some even being liabilities.
For example, Peter Obi invested $12,616,356.43 of Anambra State funds in Intafact Beverages Limited. He claimed that this was part of the assets he left behind. But in actual fact, that brewery became a loss-making business, and the shares held by the Anambra State Government depreciated to about $5.4 million.
Additionally, much of the actual cash Peter Obi left behind was in Fidelity Bank, where he was one of the largest shareholders and a former Chairman.
Peter Obi placed an amount equivalent to $20 million in a Fidelity Bank account with account number 5030047097. This money was earning interest for Fidelity Bank, interest that was partly going into his personal pocket. If I am lying, let Peter Obi sue me. I have all the facts.
Considering this, Peter Obi's claim that he left money behind for the Anambra State Government is not only false but also almost criminal when you consider that from 1999 to 2023, Peter Obi was the ONLY Anambra State Governor under whom poverty increased.
Please fact-check me: All the other Governors before him and the Governor immediately after him reduced poverty. But Peter Obi increased poverty in Anambra from 41.4% to 53.7%, while purporting to leave money in a bank where he held significant shares.
It is believed that the reason Peter Obi did not build a single nursery, primary, or secondary school and university (which is partly responsible for why poverty increased under his watch) is because he wanted Anambra State Government funds to sit in Fidelity Bank, rather than to be used for poverty reduction.
Commissioned - bring (something newly produced) into working condition.
What are you on about in your first sentence Femi? Be guided.
Now listen...
As an internationally well-traveled man and professional who has worked with a major multinational oil and gas company from the 1990s among other fields including a vast knowledge of spoken and written English language, I affirm here and now that based off of professional project construction and commissioning terms that I've been aware of for years, what I wrote right ABOVE is accurate.
I'm ONLY responding to your post because I don't want others to be misled by any WRONG information being put out by these intellectually lazy novices who just rant online with extremely lame points.
Within the construction industry, there are commonly FOUR different types of commissioning that are widely deployed and delivered, depending upon the type of project/building: * New Construction Commissioning [NCCx]
Slytiger: Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi has claimed that he did not leave behind any debt, nor owe any contractor during his time and while he left office in 2014. BUT THE CLAIM IS FALSE.
Our fact check found that his claims have been found to be false and misleading.
In a widely circulated interview with Arise TV in June 2025, former Anambra State governor Peter Obi stated that he left office in March 2014 without owing any contractor, supplier, pensioner, or public servant. He added that he left behind funds sufficient to cover salaries for three months.
“The day I left office, I was not owing one contractor, one supplier who had executed his job… I was not owing gratuity. I was not owing pension. I left salary enough to pay salary for three months.” Obi said.
The statement was widely shared on social media platforms, including X and Facebook, and cited by commentators as proof of Obi’s fiscal prudence. But does this claim hold up to scrutiny?
Background: Peter Obi served as governor of Anambra State from March 2006 to March 2014. He has consistently emphasized his record of fiscal responsibility, often referencing how he left savings in the state’s coffers and met all financial obligations.
His remarks in the Arise TV interview were intended to reinforce his image as a model of transparency and debt-free governance. However, a fact check analysis reveals that this specific claim is misleading when compared to available financial records.
What Official Records Show According to the Debt Figures from the Debt Management Office (DMO), the most authoritative data on subnational debt in Nigeria, Anambra State owed an External Debt of (as of December 31, 2013): $30,323,574.40, while the state Domestic Debt (as of December 31, 2013) stood at, ₦3,025,797,046.67, this record shows Peter Obi was still in office as at the time frame.
The data above also reflect the debt position of Anambra State less than three months before Obi left office on March 17, 2014. The DMO’s reports are not self-declared by states, but are centrally verified, lending them significant credibility. Archived source: DMO Subnational Debt Profile – 2013. https://guardian.ng/news/fact-check-claim-that-peter-obi-left-no-debt-in-anambra-is-false/
This is a brilliant piece of fact-checks from Guardian.
Former Governor Willie Obiano CLEARLY stated through his Commissioner of Information in the Punch newspaper that I read years back when he was the Anambra State Governor that this dude called Peter Obi owed contractors billions of Naira in debt yet he keeps telling those rabid and gullible followers of his and other unsuspecting people that he saved money. The money Peter owed Anambra contractors for ongoing work and work done was far more in billions of Naira than the so-called Anambra State money he said he saved with his Fidelity bank and it was through the Poju Oyemade's The Platform event in Lagos that same dubious mind manipulation FIRST went viral with the gullible audience clapping on. Small wonder, he won by 3000 vote in Lagos because many Yoruba Xtians in Lagos who largely voted for Peter were fooled by his sophistry coupled with the perceived so-called Muslim-Muslim tag-team of Tinubu and Shetima despite the FACT that the Nairaland and the internet platforms are practically littered with many posts from Ansmbra indigenes castigating Peter Obi for his incompetence in NOT taking care of urban sanitation, bad roads, no LGA elections and more like what they posted right in the NL link BELOW on February 14, 2012.
Obi definitely has serious lapses in his memory with all these gaps in his past and current narratives and CANNOT be trusted by sane folks tbh. It's a good thing we still have very intelligent folks in the Guardian, on NL and other online platforms who have sussed this Peter Obi out. That's how he said on record that he would NEVER leave APGA only to jump into PDP then Labor and he's def on the way out.
ATTACHED right BELOW is a screenshot EVIDENCE of what we have been saying.
Oke Ado is close to Dugbe, Ibadan's main CBD. It's an old area and built up. I know several buildings that have been sold there. And all these buildings are either bought by people I know or at least sold by estate agents I know. And they're all Yorubas. True, there are many Igbos in that axis but they mainly maintain shops in oke Ado.
The property market there is hot but it's firmly in Yoruba hands. It's clear some tribalistic yorubas are playing to the gallery to brew problems for Igbos in Yoruba land by exaggerating the situation
Indeed, just as I posted right above earlier, I'm aware of business savvy-Yoruba folks in Nigeria and in the Yoruba Diaspora in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia who are actively investing on the motherland so there is absolutely NO cause for alarm. The guy who posted that message wasn't trying to stir up any ethnic tensions like you stated but ONLY wanted clarifications on the Ibadan property ecosystem based off of what he was told and just like you and other Yoruba folks have fantastically done right on this thread, others who are familiar with the Ibadan property market on that Website he posted on would have corrected him too.
The Ibos themselves are NOT blameless at all here because since 2013 (and even in the days of massob from 1999) right till date as accurately EXPOSED by the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video of May 25, 2022 which is still online, they have recruited thousands of paid ipob troll farms to incite hate speech, ethnic tensions and spread massive disinformation or FAKE news in order to destabilize Nigeria and cause ethnic wars using FB, X, YouTube, WhatsApp (and even NL) with the free laptops, free mobile phones, and free Internet data... in addition to the stipends these paid troll farms are given to spread online disinformation. I have posted that BBC Global Disinformation Team investigative video on those ipob troll farms here on NL for the guy who owns this NL discussion forum to see where all the toxic disinformation and hate speech is coming from.
Once the Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and his team are able to be bold enough to kickstart the constitutional amendments which will remove those crazy inneficiences holding Nigeria down such as the insecurities from foreign Fulani herders and bandits by using surveillance and attack drones, satellite tracking systems, etc, to boost agribusiness, exports, and more, and getting rid of the Fula political hegemony that has held up the progress of Nigeria and the indigenous Hausas of Hausaland (Hausas who are over 80 million people in Nigeria, Niger Republic and Northern Ghana) are speaking up now and rebelling against Fula political hegemony in videos that I have seen since 2024 till date) you will see more inflows of capital and investments from the Yoruba Diaspora and other Nigerians.
press9jatv: Abeg ask them oooo. They just buy some properties to display their goods and business to public space niii. Go to ogunpa and see massive people of Yoruba building business empires not to talk of dugbe and liberty road side. Igbo business are just few 1/10 compared to Yoruba business in Ibadan
Indeed, I'm aware that a lot of business-savvy Yorubas in Nigeria and in the Yoruba Diaspora in Europe and North America are actively investing in Yorubaland so that is just an insolated post as the original poster said he was told and he would have been corrected about the true situation.
The rants here by Ibos was totally uncalled for. They themselves have been using NL and the medium of paid ipob troll farms platforms for shouting, cursing and bragging about the so-called "akuruolu" plan of going back to their area East of river Niger for over a decade now, yet they NEVER really want to leave despite signs that new market structures and the Onne River Port in Rivers is functioning efficiently because they subconsciously know that it would limit them.
Whatever lands any outsider pays for in Lagos, Ibadan, Ado-Ekiti, Akure, etc, is simply on leasehold [or rented] and NOT permanently sold. At the end of the lease period, whatever buildings are on the lands will be demolished and the land will revert to the original land-owning family or government if they choose NOT to renew the lease. Period.
press9jatv: not true joor. You reach inside of Oke Ado niii.
Even in the main road of Iwo rd, na Igbo business full that place. Still they are very few that owns properties there. Out of 10, it's just 1/10 properties Igbo has
Interesting insights about the Ibadan property market.
NOTHING is ever static in terms of global economic performance because we live in a world of business and economic cycles... Cycles of boom and bust. Period.
Olu1000: Shameless people !! FFK , Reno , Bwala and now this one as well - they are all in for their bellies! Wike once called APC cancer but today serves in the same APC. Wike rigged Rivers for the former drug Lord and FCT minister was his reward. There is nothing democratic about this government.Shameless people!
Get yourself properly educated and desist henceforth from criminally defaming 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have ATTACHED very clear evidence right BELOW from the United States Government and the FBI showing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (who is a technocrat that worked with the prestigious Mobil Nigeria now ExxonMobil as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor before rising to the position of a senior treasurer at Mobil Nigeria now ExxonMobil) was NEVER a drug baron or even a former one
The American government and the United States legal authorities as far back as 1993 have exonerated Tinubu of any crimes in the United States, and again in 2003, the United States Embassy through their Legal Attache Michael Bonner CLEARLY stated that the then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State was NOT a wanted man in the United States and his name is NOT in the central database of the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. The NCIC is the database that contains the names of all the people who have ever been convicted as criminals in United States history.
Be guided in your comments so you don't get into trouble. You are free to give constructive criticisms but NOT to spread toxic defamation and disinformation online on FB, X YouTube WhatsApp like these paid ipob troll farms are doing to incite ethnic tensions and deliberately destabilize Nigeria like the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video of May 25 2022 accurately and CLEARLY EXPOSED.
That's the danger in these kinds of floods. All kinds of forest animals such as this tortoise (including poisonous snakes just slide out of hiding and attack unsuspecting people).
That is a truly iconic scene of that Mokwa rail track.
On the other hand, it further emphasizes that moving forward, people MUST learn NOT to encroach on water pathways due to illegal allocation of lands by local authorities as that CLEARLY led to the blockage of the flood plains and hence triggered the massive floodings and devastation in Mokwa LGA.
naptu2: Nigeria hosted an Organisation of African Unity (OAU) summit in 1991. The summit was held in the new capital, Abuja.
Several 6-door stretch W124 Mercedes Benz were bought to ferry leaders at the summit.
Apart from African leaders, the United Nations Secretary General, Javier Perez de Cuellar and the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Chairman, Yasser Arafat also attended the summit.
The International Conference Center (ICC) in Abuja was built to host the summit.
The ICC has also served as the chamber of the National Assembly (1992-1993) and it has hosted the 1995, 2005 and 2014 National Conferences.
The ICC has been in bad shape a few times, which has led to calls for it to be renovated.
The center is currently undergoing renovation and will soon be commissioned.
I remember the 1991 OAU Summit which took place in the FCT just as if it happened yesterday. On the other hand, Nigerians have to develop a strong culture of facilities management in order to minimize the cost of maintenance of public and private infrastructure.
An already existing building such as the ICC in the FCT can indeed be commissioned (and/or recommissioned) after undergoing renovation. It's basic English language.
Areas or locations that undergo "gentrification" worldwide can indeed be commissioned.
