OCTAVO:Bump. Fried plantain, smoky party jollof rice (with bay leaf), and fried marinated chicken aroma can indeed immobilize me tbh. |
That fried plantain aroma and the smoky party jollof rice with the bay leaf, curry, thyme seasoning infusions and more. Second would be the two special home-made Yoruba delicacies of "Moyin-Moyin" or shortened to "Moin-Moin," "Akara," and oven-fresh whole wheat bread. |
God1000:He allegedly sells used cloths right in Cotonou, has NO international passport (he ONLY has an ID card) and these highly IRRESPONSIBLE sensation online writers and YouTubers are referring to him as a "billionaire" when his net worth is NOT up to 1 billion USD. [just like they did with the Anambra-born notorious armed robber, killer, and interstate kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike (the so-called Evans)] |
naptu2:Bump. Operation Dudula Vigilantes. |
EponObi:Tbh, these young Ibo trolls (especially those LARGELY sympathetic to that criminal group called ipob) have a lot of sociopaths and deep narcissists among them. This is a major link road that past Federal Governments had planned to construct in the past from the former President Shehu Shagari years (which the current President in Nigeria and his team led by Dave Umahi FINALLY activated). This is the BEST time in history to start this iconic project because construction costs can easily spike up again based off of the unpredictable nature of the interwoven global economy and geopolitical dynamics. Nairaland URGENTLY needs a second-wave of major internal cleaning up. All these paid ipob troll farms (as accurately EXPOSED by the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" in a 2022 investigative video), derailing threads, posting overt hate speech and disinformation (after being given free laptops, free mobile phones, and free Internet data by those who hired them in exchange for monthly stipends) here on NL and other social media platforms such as FB, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc, MUST be individually removed by the Super Mods to maintain a BETTER user-experience on this discussion forum. The so-called AI system and new NL blocking feature for 7 days are just NOT enough here. Period. |
ogododo:A better attempt at political analysis by Farooq this time around but the part about Davido and his supposed Ibo connection in that article was totally uncalled for as it had NO bearing to the main thrust of the story. Davido's father has his direct paternal roots in Ede, Osun State, while his mother Imade hailed from Edo State. Period. |
raddyworld:That says a lot... ![]() The status symbol is what really drives some people to keep these animals or pets. |
Ironfaceman:This was predictable in the light of major economic reforms of huge proportions. You have to cut your coat according to your cloth. Simple! Even right in the United States, some folks are giving up their dogs for better care due to economic reasons. BETTER to NOT engage in showing off a dog as a social status symbol like a lot of these people do when you are hungry. Period. |

nlfpmod:This is a "very tacky dress sense" tbh. I wouldn't be caught walking right next to a woman who dresses like this to a social function because of my high visual taste and sense of style. It's either she wanted to generate cheap publicity (OR she has low self-esteem issues and wanted to keep up and feel younger by wearing something very skimpy). She can still be big, bold and sexy WITHOUT this needless drama IMHO. Period. |

princepalace:@princepalace, That's interesting to know. I appreciate the clarifications you brought right here on the EXACT location of the floodings. As a lover of credible news and world history for decades, I like to get the specifics right about major events. Second, and MOST important, Is that Jebba North an area indigenous to the Nupe folks OR the Yoruba folks? I once saw claims of both Yorubas and Nupes saying the Jebba in Niger belongs to either of them. I'm however aware that Jebba in Kwara State has an Oba (or King) hence is part of the larger Yorubaland, BUT I want some final historical CLARITY from you based on the fact that you fortunately grew up there in Jebba North like you stated in your post. Third, are there truly some indigenous Yoruba populations in Niger State or is it just Yoruba settlers? I look forward to your feedback here. Thanks. |
Efuaye:Succinctly put. They would have shaken hands and even hugged each other before that event. Both men are technocrats with Tinubu being an accountant and auditor who rose to the senior rank of a treasurer at Mobil Nigeria (now ExxonMobil), while Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu worked as an investment banker rising to the senior rank of a bank treasurer. It's totally inconceivable that both distinguished men would bring pettiness (so-called snubbing) right into the public domain as FALSELY claimed by these highly IRRESPONSIBLE YouTubers and bloggers. They had better go and look for a BETTER paying online niche or new offline jobs. It's time to reign in these young people through regulation. Period. |
NwekeUG:Gosh! That's NOT a snub. The Nigerian President, 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu (a chartered accountant and auditor) and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (a technocrat with an investment banking background) are in good terms BUT these misguided lots and that satanic online publication called Peoples Gazette keep trying to create a non-existent quarrel between the two gentle men with their FAKE news reports created for the larger segment of very gullible readers. It's time these random bloggers and wannabe YouTubers are regulated to save everyone from the relentless disinformation and FAKE news they circulate before they cause social unrests. Very terrible people! |

God1000:The Al-Jazeera English report says it's caused by "flash floods." It's absolutely unsafe for people to live right on the banks of major waterways such as Rivers Niger and Benue. The agency in Nigeria (Nimet) has issued warnings earlier of floods taking over low-level areas from the North to the South of Nigeria, BUT people don't listen and take these for granted. It's time to move other people to higher grounds along the entire river paths to minimize deaths from potential rising waters. Period. My condolences go to the families of those who have passed on and lost valuables in that State. |
AerialMapper:You didn't read the post properly. The accident happened right on a bridge within Kano State. They were already on home soil (after leaving Abeokuta in Ogun State and making a stop over in Abuja to rest) when the Coaster bus fell right off the bridge. |
Ada243:Bump. Eggplant 🍆 and MORE. These are very exotic kinds of swallows right there aside from the traditional ones. |
Eriokanmi:Eriokanmi, Your post right ABOVE is largely and totally off the trail and makes NO sense to me. Your transformer issue is a local Disco problem and electricity generation has now been fully decentralized so that the 36 States can individually generate power so what's that got to do with the man who is the current President of Nigeria being scapegoated by you? Governance is a continuum and 'Bola Tinubu has to commission any projects his predecessors might have started which his government then finishes with further funding when required. Some projects are still under construction, therefore will be commissioned on later dates. I CLEARLY detest the way you display your overt OR open hatred for this man called 'Bola Tinubu. I'm CLEARLY not his biggest fan because he acts too nice for my liking which has led nobodies to defaming and disrespecting him, such as those paid ipob troll farms hired and given free laptops, free mobile phones and free Internet data by their criminal leadership to cause chaos online which the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video of 2022 EXPOSED for deliberately spreading massive disinformation and toxic hate to destabilize Nigeria via war and unrests using FB, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, and even NL, BUT your relentless comments on NL in every one of your posts here is very disturbing as I know you to be a well-traveled man from your posts here and of Yoruba descent from Edo State like you once posted here in reply to a convo we both had, and I don't want you giving me that excuse that it's your opinion. NO! Please stop this and offer constructive criticisms instead of these your biased and VERY overt insults which we can all read and this is why I'm stepping in after holding myself back for weeks now to let YOU know that you are sounding like a total "wet blanket" with your insulting and narcissistic comments towards this man! I say this with "tough love" as a veteran member of this Website since 2005 (20 years now) as I don't know fully what you are passing through internally, BUT much maturity is expected from you on this discussion forum. Last but NOT least, it was the "Lagos State Development Master Plan" started off by the now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his dynamic team in the 2000s when he was the Governor of Lagos State that led to the establishment of the Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ), the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery relocation to Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos, the massive increase in the Lagos IGR from less than 1 billion monthly to over 1 billion monthly, the establishment of several goverment agencies, the Blue and Red Rail mass transit lines, etc, and when 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu left office as the Governor of Lagos State in 2007, he continued to monitor the FULL implementation of the iconic "Lagos State Development Master Plan" because it's a long-term project that requires stability in government and this is why Tinubu CLEARLY identified his former Chief of Staff (a cerebral lawyer and technocrats such as Babatunde Fasola, Akinwunmi Ambode a Chartered Accountant, and Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu who was an investment banker rose to the senior rank of bank treasurer before serving Lagos State as the FIRST EVER Lagos State Security Trust Fund Chairman) to continue as Governors of Lagos State. So, it's very strange that you are saying here that 'Bola Tinubu is claiming the achievements of the Governors who left after him. Give the man Bola Tinubu some credit when necessary and give him constructive criticisms as well when you think he's not doing according to your desire (for the good of Lagos State and Nigeria). Period. |
kedeojo:Succinctly put. The bolded parts of your post right ABOVE are FACTS of history. The purely stinking hypocrisy for me about some of these Ibos is what is totally off-putting. Do they think others are NOT aware of how Anambra indigenes largely created threads on NL and other online platforms to insult and criticize Peter for his innefectiveness as a Governor of Anambra with bad roads even in Awka, urban refuse or garbage piling up, inability to conduct LGA elections and much more. Then years later, thinking that we had NO evidence of ALL the damning posts made online against Peter Obi, these male and female Ibo commentators and voters started cyberbullying others who had their preferred political parties and went on praising Peter as the best for Nigeria in the 2022/2023 Presidential election cycle with about 95 percent of the South East Nigeria voters tribalistically voting for Peter Obi, with Atiku Abubakar coming a far 2nd and the now President 'Bola Tinubu coming 3rd in the whole of the South East [while the South West and Northern Nigeria voters were more liberal and voted across party lines]. I don't think those people from the SE of Nigeria (with the exception of folks in his Abia State Senatorial area) will vote for Orji Kalu if he's given the APC ticket because they hate him so much to make matters worse he's connected to the APC. Period. |
