debrief08: Efe, Daring enough to flaunt it and bring them home and demand for breakfast for him and the ladies. Jenny, he did and I was told the same by my mum, that he is my crown and if I am stripped of my crown I will be bare and empty. Did I believe? I was in my mid twenties, the people I trusted told me differntly than what I thought, I assumed them wiser and more experienced. Funny enough when I refused to come home from the hospital he said they should leave me I will use my legs to come and beg. After sometime, he sent texts threatening me that I will be replaced if I didn't return in a week. The day I agreed to meet and talk, he told me to be greteful he still wanted me, after all I was second hand no man will want me and I was barren too, and that he hadn't even done half of what his dad did to his mom, and that I should be thankful for the houses, vacations, constant funding of my account and that I had the latest cars. That he didn't fail in providing for me so I should be happy and content. I write all this with permission from my ex, he wants men doing this to realise from his own mistakes that it is not worth the cheap thrill
emmanuelkim: Guy the truth is that i would have applied for master here in Nigeria, but the course in question does not have an undergraduate level here in nigeria, but have master, so i want to gain the basic knowledge before applying for masters, please i need answer if this is not ok
risher ris: hi peeps, i have been following this trend for sometimes now both day and night.got my visa delayed on 15th Oct at about 9:50am in the morning by a young guy in window 7,he did not even waste time and he only asked few questions, and the interview went thus, me:hi,good morning vo:morning, pass your documents please, which i did in time.why did you choose xyz school? me:told him it is characterized by its commitment to civic responsibility, intellectual development and leadership. vo:what do you understand by intellectual development? me:took my time to explain and by that time he was not even looking at me,was only typing. vo:wen did you graduate from sec school and what have you been doing? me:2006 and i have a bachelor`s degree in biochemistry(was actually going for another undergrad course),at that time he was not even looking at me he was busy typing some stuffs on his system vo:asked how many siblings have i? me:told him im from a family of 5, asked for my kid sis name and i told him. vo:said ok,and started typing again for about 20secs, folded my DS-160 and return back my application.with a white slip which he brought out from the draw.he stared at me with pity while he opened the draw to bring out the white slip that i personally will call a delayer slip and he told me that i am not eligible. me: i received it gladly as if it was that famous green ticket and i said thank you with a very big smile as if i got that visa.wen i turned back, everybody focused on me,they know i did not get it that day but i was smiling while i left.please house, where do i need to work on myself.thanks
Dospix: Pes 2013 seem to be very difficult.Am becoming fustrated at the fact that i find it difficult defeating .2013 seem to hv gotten its pattern from fifa.
Hello. I've been following this thread for a long yle and I've learnt so much from pple here. I'm a spring 2013 applicant and my 1-20 is in transit. However, I have d details on my i-20 so I can pay my sevis fee. I was wondering if a relative in d Uk can pay it on my behalf?.Also, I don't have d hard copy of my SAT result nd I was wondering if I could go to d interview with a printout of d online report. Thanks for ur time
Yeah he can but only big cities like london have the western union outlet that can send so pray he isn't like how I was. . . . Village chilling
ferdiii: This is the document that will make you get admission and I20. How much will it even cost? Shouldn't be more than N1k.It doesn't get addressed to anyone by the bank. You just mail (ground) it to the schools. Do you want to photocopy?
ferdiii: Yeah they can. Just demand for the recent transaction page (1 or 2pages) and the bank repeats that 5 times. Why won't they be happy to charge his account 5 times?
lol but will he be happy to be charged 5 times?
He should do it once but address it to whom it may concern. . .
ollyboy1: To all the gurus in the house, if admission letter says transfer and the i20 says length of program is 48month. So, what is now the essence of the transfer status. Your opinion is needed. Thanks Bar ka de sala to all Muslims in the house
Because ur length of program can not be edited by the skool so its fixed for all undergrad categories
mr swagger: @Oga imperiouxx, so dis means I have to send my Bank statements to them. But is it possible for a Bank to issue 5 Bank statements because I intend applying to 5 schools and sending them the Bank statement at once.. is dis going to be possible?. They even want the original Bank statement and a letter from the Bank. I'm kind of confused. I jst don't knw wht to tell my sponsor.. Because it seems awkward, asking for a Bank statement when I'v nt even gotten any admission. Or has anyone in house encountered a similar problem like me here.. Pls help.. I need advice and suggestions
Tell him u need his bank statements to get admission
Yvete:"Yes they admitted me without writing a standardized tests and they said writing a standardized test won't be necessary and they waived it for me." OMG! NOT AGAIN. When you use your mustard seed faith, please share your testimony.
@Kpolli
My cuz is going for post-bacc because he has a non-technical degree thats a 3rd class from NIG. The admissions came through the graduate school but they advised him to take 24 hours of undergraduate courses with a gpa above 3.0 then continue into their MBA program for one yr. Though he wrote GRE/TOEFL. I think its better than the PGA he wanted to pursue in the UK.
@Mckenzii
I won't lie that M.A Public Admin + Drake University is an awesome combo. Is what the VO thinks about you that matters. What is it about public universities that discourage you? Are you avoiding standardized tests? FYI: The Univ. of North Texas houses the 1st Pub Admin program that is currently ranked 8th best in the US. And that's a public College that can offer GA. Unv. of North Dakota too ... Stuff like that is what you may pursue. I have friends that majored in MPA Emergency Mgmt there and are doing well. If you're wealthy and can't be bothered, I can understand. Wish you success.
Anyone interested in a MPH Environmental studies, there's an available fellowship for $20,000 in NY, but the tuition is insane.
Ok good, if asked by the VO he should state what u just started (but leave out the 3rd class part) and he shud add the UK option
mr swagger: @imperiouxx I appreciate your comment. I understand wht u said, but wht I'm asking is that do schools request for this Bank statement before you apply for admission or AFTER you have been ADMITTED and ready to get the I-20....
Mamacita007: Has anyone registered with EducationUSA at the US Embassy-LAG? I registered with them today for 15k and saw a bunch of confused people that have no idea and are nervous. Thank God for nairaland. They even bounced one guy in his late 30's because he's too old to school in America. The centre helps students that want to school in america with school research, application, free study area for members once a week for GRE/TOEFL and mock interview for f1 visa. They are all Nigerians oh. No consular person involved. They even help to pay SEVIS fee for their members ( but you'll pay them first in Naira). They have meetings every wednesday. I went today with my bro so the woman did mock interview with us and discouraged my brother because he's going for 2nd degree bachelors, but he no send am. Her questions do not really tally with peoples stories here on nairaland. I just tire. Has anyone used them?
But really, why is ur bro going for a second degree?
kikuyu1: Honestly I've never been a fan. I think its juvenile at best and tedious. How many times can a thug mumble about bling and killing,c'mon! However,I've been directed to Prof.Griff's videos explaining how its stars are knowingly being used to spread negativity and subtle messages.
imperiouxx: It's almost everywhere. They restrict themselves to some kind of courses at the graduate level (in science: mostly in Health or Biology). Internationals dominate many departments and I think that is why US offers admission to many internationals at graduate levels.
SO there are actually jobs but since only internationals are qualified enuff and few companies are ready to sponsor, the vacancies are hardly filled
jimtosam: Those guys are psychologist. They can envisage each applicant ambition. Though, sometimes they make mistakes to give VISA to wrong hands.
First, about the Jama Jama you mentioned. Jama Jama no easy in USA now if one does not have their education. Even, Americans now are ready to wash dishes. Chinco/Indian/Hispano have also invaded. It makes it more competitive. This gives you a clue about unemployment rate.Did you watch Obama and Romney last debate. A guy asked a question that he will finish college in 2014 and he has no hope of a good job. That wasn't a setup, it's happening for real.
Change the motive. Pursue study, then after ur 3/4semesters, you will now start thinking of what next. Come in for economics. try www.wiu.edu .At least, you have a high chance of GA. Economics dept in dat school gives virtually all their Masters std GA. You can still pursue your MBA ambition later. MBA now in embassy is not a strong case. MBA can even be done online.

Thanks.
I don't agree, unmeployment is this high cos most americans don't do professional courses. . . . They do English and co. and expect to work in Shell?? Imagine no American in my class. . . . Best they stop at undergrad level and that's it. . . .
jimtosam: Another way you can send a message to the Visa Officer that you know about your school is that, if he asked why Kpolli University. Tell the VO one special equipment that the school has or tell him a research work of a professor in the department that thrilled you.
For example, Kpolli University has a special spectrum analyzer which will help me in my research work, blah, blah, blah. There are five of these analyzers in the United states Universities. We got one in Imperioux University, another one in LarryPaddy University, blah, blah..Then, be expecting a question about spectrum analyzer. Another example, why Kpolli University; I came across Professor Kelvin thesis who happen to be the HOD of Computer Science. When I studied his work, it broadened my scope on embedded systems. Since then, blah, blah, blah.
You can always take the VO to your direction if you know how to play the game. To be candid, they are using that position to learn. They don't know about all fields.
I didn't know Stanford had changed its name to Kpolli
mark4see: I have applied for the USA visa three times and have been denied the three times. I graduated from OAU department of economics 2010 and went straight way for •̸Ϟ•̸¥ nysc and I finished by 2011 and as I was getting home A̶̲̥̅ friend of mine convinced me to see an agent who can get me an admission in the USA and I went to see the agent and at the end he was able to get A̶̲̥̅ masters in business administration at A̶̲̥̅ private university for me(Everest university) I call it A̶̲̥̅ mushroom university and I also booked A̶̲̥̅ date by Dec 12 2011 at the abuja cosulate office, paid •̸Ϟ•̸¥ sevis fee and On getting there, it went thus VO: why are you going to the US Me: for •̸Ϟ•̸¥ masters in ...... Univ Vo: can I have your transcript? Me: gave him the transcript Vo: what is fiscal policy? Me fiscal policy is A̶̲̥̅ government policy used by the government of an economy to stabilize its budget through the policy instrument of tax and borrowing. Vo: okay, so how many school did u apply to. Me: three schools. Avila university, Dallas baptist university and Everest university Vo: how did u come to know about the school. Me: through one of •̸Ϟ•̸¥ lecturer who studied abroad and we were at A̶̲̥̅ seminar where he made mention of some schools and Everest was part of them. Vo: so why Everest. Me: because they. Offer A̶̲̥̅ flexible curriculum that suits •̸Ϟ•̸¥ study. Vo: did you know Everest is A̶̲̥̅ very low standard school in the US and it was also associated with fraud. Me. Was silent there Vo: you might be inteligent •̸Ϟ•̸¥ friend but the school you're going is A̶̲̥̅ low standard school and am sorry I have to deny you. All you have to do is look for A̶̲̥̅ better school and come back here and we'll issue your visa. That's the way •̸Ϟ•̸¥ first visa interview went on December 12 2011. In this interview it was the agent who taught me what to say. He did not apply to the other schools for me neither did I hear about the school from any seminar or lecturer. Those talks were what he told me to say. The vo never asked me anything about •̸Ϟ•̸¥ tie •̸Ϟ•̸¥ sponsor nor any other thing. He denied me thus
Mamacita007: buh if may ask,if you mention another country, does that not mean anythin to them like the usa is nt d only plce u claimin to get d best education since u applied to other places
ROMALD2G1 I thought about it too becuz since only LBS offers my course of study im only going to mention 3 schools in the US only and Lagos Bizness skl.
Better to state LBS than Gidi Biz skool cos ur not coming to their country to take but to spend ur money. . . . Do u know how much UK has lost now that international students are no more applying there?
ronald2g1: buh if may ask,if you mention another country, does that not mean anythin to them like the usa is nt d only plce u claimin to get d best education since u applied to other places
Cos they want ur money to enter their system not the other country's.
Google search schools that offer your chosen course. Check their requirements. Then shortlist a number of schools that are closer to your area of study & availability of financial aids/scholarships/grants or any other form of waivers, check school's rankings (it mustn't be an ivy league school) also consider school's location, cost of living, weather conditions. Meet all application deadlines, take the standardized tests. When you are accepted into the school, you'll be requested to submit some financial documents, proof that student has financial support with or without assistance from the school. when you meet all requirements, an I-20 form(Admission letter) will be mailed to you. Pay a SEVIS fee at any ECOBank in Cotonou or Seme border or If you have anyone in the states, the person can pay online for you. NB: You'll need the receipt for your interview so, be mindful. Visit the US embassy website to fill an onlne application DS-160 form. i think it varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for.(not certain) Visit any GTBank to pay a visa application fee. You'll be issued an MRV receipt(whatever its called)lol With all these things done, visit the usembassy website and schedule a visa interview appointment. You should know the rest.
@House Anyone can add more tips to this. If I'm missing out some details.
To all the Spring'13 students, I wish you all God's grace as you prepare. Amen!
Olami1224: Hello everyone, thank you for the grate work.
Please could anyone in the house analyze the stage to state process involved in getting a USA study visa, So many new people new on this thread are getting confuse and we need your candid assistance. (eg. GET SCH, Admisson... etc).
bukahands: @ imperiouxx: and co Abeg which schools I fit apply for in the us(good quality) with bsc 3.52 biochemistry am thinking of public health. I dey fear becos of ma GPA
