Our immigration consultant recommend she apply alone to increase chances that i and our daughter can join her later.
Now visa is out and she will be travelling next month. I have read numerous stories about how women change when they travel out.
Should I be worried? Canada is extra lonely, reduce your fear |

GAZZUZZ: There is no doubting the Ninth generation (E120, E130 ) Toyota Corolla is Nigeria's best selling vehicle, it is a car you will find on every street in the country.
It is rugged
It is easy fix
Easy to maintain
Excellent fuel economy
Excellent resale value after decades of use.
Sadly with the introduction of E-valuation (age restrictions) this very reliable vehicle will soon disappear from our lands as foreign used cars.
Currently a used 2006/7 goes for about ₦3.3-3.5m
In a few days prices will reach 3.6-3.7m (new tarrif)
I am just thinking out loud, our very own innoson could buy up patent and production lines for this discontinued vehicles and I am certain there is a ready market to absorb and possibly export to other African countries brand new units of this vehicle.
Just thinking out loud.
Discontinued? Who said the Toyota Corolla is discontinued? |

Cassahav: I am a fortysomething man in a long-term relationship – nearly 20 years – and have two children. For the past 10 years my partner has been having short-term lovers. These were clandestine, but more recently she has stopped hiding, called our relationship “open”, and currently has a lover who I do know about. But this “open relationship” can only be one-sided, because she is jealous and suspicious while I am basically not polyamorous. So why stay together? We get on, communicate well (other than the no-go zone of her other love life), rarely argue, are bonded by bringing up our children and are financially tied together.
However, the years of suppressing my emotions – of jealousy, rejection, insecurity, being lied to – have left me broken. Sex (which we still occasionally do have) has become stressed: if I don’t perform enthusiastically, it will justify her seeking other lovers. Also, I am expected to remain sexually attracted to her, which gets more difficult when I know she’s been with someone else recently. We had frank talks when she offered to end her extramarital affairs and be monogamous with me – or plan how we might separate without affecting our children. We were both very upset, as we are very much still in love, and wish the sex side of our relationship wasn’t such a terrible mess.
But it has occurred to me that I am emotionally and sexually broken after this past decade. If I was single again – or my partner was to become monogamous with me again – I don’t think I would be a viable person to be in a relationship with. How do I start to repair myself, inside or outside this relationship?
Any advice would be cool. You have dated for 20+ years and not married her, why will she take you serious? |

I have this junior colleague that has been with the company for 8years(long before i joined cos i have only been there for 2+ years), he is experienced and good at his job. But yesterday i caught this guy trying to steal two pieces of 70ah batteries, it really broke my heart because he can not even sell this things for up to 100k. I have tried everything in my capacity to make sure those working under my dept enjoy every benefits that are due to them; from hazard allowance, overtime, and so on. I sign all this allowance without asking questions even when sometimes some of them are questionable. I was doing all this so that nobody has any reason to steal and they have small change to augment their salary. Personally i hate theft and frown at it and they all know it cos i keep preaching against this at every meeting, and if i escalate this to the management at the HQ in Lagos, he might be sack without benefits after 8 long years and he is a family man.
Though I have scold him and told him he would hear from me by Monday morning, the truth is given the situation I don't know what to do with this guy.
I am really confuse cos i don't even know how long he has been doing this shit. Just remember if your department gets audited and they find out parts are missing; you'll be the one sacked |

Her mom called and we both made peace I discovered that she was recording our argument but I chose not to confront her there and then.
A day later, I asked why she was recording me and she lied but I gave her facts and she agreed. She said if I've nothing to fear why am I being upset about it. She said I should record her too cus she observed that when we speak to her mum after an incident I don't say the whole truth.

She sha want to leave Nigeria and japa even though she was in her mid forties and can't hustle like before. She got a tourist visa and left with her kids. Now she's complaining even after advising her not to leave as she was average rich here before she left . Now she lives in a one bedroom apartment in a ghetto area of Houston. She works 20 hrs a day doing two jobs and she still doesn't make enough money to pay her rent, the landlord will chase her out anytime. Now she's complaining that things are hard and she wants to come back to Nigeria. What should I tell her, everybody wants to japa thinking life is better there. Eventually when they get there, instant regret it's cold, the people are unfriendly and even the blacks there are racist to Africans. She's working illegally, if she had moved the right way; she will be enjoying. Her resume would have gotten her a better job |
Family › Re: Could He Have Ulterior Motives By Disagreeing To This? Should I Opt Out? by kpolli(m): 2:43am On Dec 04, 2021 |
Mercychen: Hi fam.
Something has been bothering me of late and leaving me emotionally and mentally stressed and drained for the past weeks and I'm cut between the devil and the deep blue sea.
There's this bro we're trying to see if we can work things out. though, I never really wanted anything relationship again or at least for now until I'm decided later in the future on what I really want for myself.
Before, I delve into the main discuss , let me quickly highlight how it all started.
Some months back, My publisher came to deliver the books I ordered for. So while sorting the books, he just got teasing me like " Babes, na wa o. What's up with your romantic life now?. I've never seen you pulling with anyone. It's always work, biz Money money money I see you pursuing. Lol... I just told him, guy, free me abeg and I went on counting the books at the boot of his car.
He now walked up to me and said, on a more serious note, what is happening? So I told him it's a personal choice cos I dont have the strength for relationship brouhaha now. He agreed with me that truly its not easy and even as a married man, he too feels the heat but the good thing is, he married in the Lord. So I should choose wisely from among the brethren.
So he said, he has this family friend, an eligible bachelor, who wants a decent lady and I'm the one that comes to mind each time the guy mentions it because since he's be dealing with me, he can vouch that I'm a very honest, hard-working and decent lady. So he would want the bro to have me. That was how I got to meet bro.
Now fastforward to the main reason of this post. There was this particular day we tripped out to cool off and discuss about US. So we got talking and planning on how to build our home in a way that we will not be caught unawares with some setbacks and unplanned responsibilities. So the issue of children came up and I suggested we have only one, which he reluctantly accepted after much convincing. So we tried to look at ways we can maintain that decision and I suggested a vasectomy. citing the possibilities of health risks (as a result of mismatches ) and failures that might occur if the family planning is done on me but with vasectomy, no issues. He looked me in the eyes and said, "my darling" no!
I was dumbfounded.... And became a little worried because, if he has no plans of having more children, why would he kick against the idea of a vasectomy?
If we are going to be one and follow one course, why shying away from a plan that will benefit us as a couple and a family?
Could it be, he only agreed to have one with me and plans to have more else where? Is vasectomy a life threatening condition?
I was still trying to wrap my head around his refusal, when he said, it will be done on you ( the family planning). That instant, I felt all alone, like im on my own. So I told him I needed to cool off, and he said feel free. I left the tent and went to the waters prentending to be playing with the water. He came and dragged me out of the water. we strolled without a word and I asked him to take me home. He did.
He called when he got home. I was cold to him so, he promised to call again but since then Ive refused to pick his calls or reply his texts.
The big question is .. WHY DID HE BLUNTLY REFUSE A VASECTOMY?
COULD HE HAVE ULTERIOR MOTIVES?
IS IT NOT BETTER TO OPT OUT NOW THAN PRETEND I DIDN'T GET THE MESSAGE AND END UP IN REGRETS?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A MAN KICKS AGAINST VASECTOMY? Go and read the risks of Vasectomy, it's reversible but not guaranteed this will work. Let me break it down for you, if in future you decide to change your mind and you try to reverse it. It doesn't work, you'll leave him after you made him do it. If you can't trust him to be faithful to you then don't marry him, don't give vasectomy excuse. |

LiegeMan: Anger And Vengeance Is Taking The Best Part Of Me
hello nairalanders,
Sorry to disturb your peace but this has been going on in my mind for long and I really need suggestions on how to overcome it. I gave in to ire/anger and it's gradually taking the best part of me since I made a little discovery about my wife's past and how she lived her life while in the campus. I will try and make it as snappy as possible in order not to make you spend much of your time on my case.
Now, it goes this way, my wife came from a middle class family and she attended one of the best and prestigious higher institutions in the country, they're not too rich and they're not poor, infact, their family name can't be in the same sentence with poverty. She had everything she needed and lived her life to the fullest while in the campus, she flirted with and dated the best guys in the campus, she visited many night clubs and other exuberant and flamboyant life style that pertains to the campus.
Now on my own part, I attended one of the Colleges of Education that littered our country, I did everything all by myself, I sponsored myself throughout my stay in the college, I did all manner of odd jobs to survive, sometimes, I would miss lectures due to lack of cash, no one to assist, all these limitations made me not to pay attention towards the opposite sex as I was busy struggling to survive and hoping unto God for a miracle.
Right now, all I am feeling is anger, ire, all I want now is vengeance knowing fully well that while I was suffering and struggling to survive, fasting without praying, carrying bricks and block from one floor to the other, jumping from one market to the other hawking my wares, that my wife was busy somewhere enjoying and partying away her future, right now, I want to have my revenge, I want to live those life that I wasn't opportune to live, I want to flirt and have fun with many ladies both young and old, I want to visit as many night clubs as possible now that money is flowing in, I careless about the consequences and how she may feel, these are exactly what I'm feeling now.
this can't keep troubling me that's why I brought it here for suggestions and elderly advice. Only question I have is how did you guys meet? |

lagosboy86: Hello All, I am a dual national, (Naija and US passport holder). I'm trying to book a flight to visit lagos. The issue right now is that the names on my Naija and US passports don't exactly match. For the sake of simplicity, The names on my Naija passport is written as ABC, with A being my first name, while that on my yankee passport is BAC, with B as my first name. I'm at a loss as to what name to use in booking the flight ticket. I was initially going to book the ticket using the names as it appears on my Naija passport, as this will grant me entry without hassels into Lagos, but I'm worried I might have issues when leaving as the name on the ticket won't match the name on my Yankee passport. I spoke with the airline customer service and I was advised to buy 2 separate tickets, (one with my Naija passport name and the other with Yankee PP name) or book 2 separate one way trips, but the cost of this is more than double the original cost of a round trip ticket. To the experienced travelers in the house, how can I go about resolving this? If you officially changed your name, book with BAC and then use the document you used to board your flight to Nigeria. Once you land they won't care |

Powerhouse5050: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear Nairalanders,
First I will like you to know that I am ardent user of this media web and many of the old timers will remember me if I had use my original username, however I chose not to for security reasons and also concerns about the nature of the issue at hand.
More so many of you have read about me online and on all gossips and news website,I also read about it and see various comments from critical people and many ignorant folks.
Secondly,I am presently in prison serving 3 life sentences + 76 years for a crime I do not know anything about and infact my phone GPS showed that I was at different location at the same time of the crime and you will agree with me that it is totally impossible to be at 2 seperate locations ,wearing 2 different type of cloth at the same time.
This is a case of mistaken of identification, the police was aware of this but because I just arrived the country at the time ( Ignorant of the law and constitutional rights ) i was accussed and framed by the corrupt and racist Douglas county police department officers.
Furthermore I have evidences that could proof my actual innocence like ( DNA,GPS,SURVEILLANCE VIDEO,POLICE TESTIMONIES AND ALIBI) but without any serious help ,I may definitely be stucked with all my evidences.
I have gone through 3 difference attornies since my arrest and I currently have the 4th attorney, I have spent roughly $150,000 in legal fees, but i realized it is not just about money, if the good people does not speak out and demand for due process little or nothing may change in my situation.
I have written many independent organisations, few have put me on their priority list but it may take years to reach my turn and some others clearly replied that because I am not American I do not meet up with the requirement.
Nigeria Embassy showed little or no interest,Former Consular Okoliko visited me in jail and he even attended some of my pre-trial proceeding however I believe he had left the embassy or re-assigned.
I recently spoke with Mrs. Okonta ( Secretary/Phone Operator),she has never succeeded in putting me through to any of the consular,it is either they are busy or in a meeting or they have left for the day.
I have no other option than to reach out to the good people on this forum maybe if my story goes viral, somebody may step up to review the evidences.
I have more to say about all the evidences in my possession ( including DNA result) but I will wait to see how this is going before I reveal more or post any of the evidences.
For confidential purpose my e-mail is housepower092@mail.com.
Sincerely
Power House Douglas County, what state? |

SimpleGuy001: Beginning to feel somehow this days, and it’s majorly because of my height.
So I just turned 21 this year July and then I discovered I’m 5”5 in height.
I’m not really into girls for now, but then when I’m ready for the relationship stuffs I don’t think I can approach ladies cause I think I might be at a disadvantage because of my height.
I do get ladies that are attracted to me in school, I believe that’s because I’m fair and intelligent. Top 1% of my class, just graduated with a very good result too.
But I think it just ends there, I kind of feel bad about my height.
For those who will say I should go make money, that isn’t my problem now because I’m doing quite good financially for a 21 year old. The issue now is how to improve my confidence because I feel I’m at a disadvantage when I’m ready to go into a relationship.
Is it even possible to add a couple of inches before 25? Wait, you just discovered you are 5"5; what did you think before? |

Can I have the opportunity of working even if it's menial jobs and can he have the chance to work or study with research will take most of his time? Guys, please advise me Cc; FutureSenator Kpolli Thanks for the mention and Congrats to your family. No you won't be allowed to work with your visa category. Your husband will be able to work during the holiday as Internship. Your husband shouldn't think of working while he is doing research because it's time consuming and he will be paid decently for his research work (Most if not all Unis do this). My advice is go together, it will be much harder for you to get the visa after he has left. |

Romance › Re: After Introduction, I’m Seeing Too Many Red Flags by kpolli(m): 5:27pm On Jun 24, 2021 |
mugnmuffin: Dear Nairalanders, I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I subtly try to nudge him to consider getting saved, i.e acknowledging Christ as lord and savior and becoming born again but he is content with his laidback Christian life.
Earlier this year, he asked to meet my parents and I let him. My parents like him especially because my younger sis is married and they have been waiting for me too. They’re glad I’ve someone. However, after the introduction,I regret it. I’m now certain that he’s not the one. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. So it’s like my associating with him is a minus for my spiritual life and that’s a huge cause for concern.
At this point, I want to tell my parents I am not convinced it’s him but I’m afraid of the disappointment this will cause. *sigh* I’ll appreciate your thoughts, comments, criticisms... You didn't pray before but have you prayed now and God said he isn't the one? |
