mr swagger: Hello guys, pls I need your help on this, I graduated from high school in 2007 and I intend applying for undergraduate studies for fall 2013 resumption to washington university st louis. After filling in my application through the common application website I was shocked when I received this email from them;

Dear Kelly,
Thank you for your recent application to Washington University. Because you have been out of high school for several years now, it is difficult for us to accurately evaluate your academic record.

We recommend that you attend a community college as a part-time or full-time student for at least a year to re-establish your academic record and to explore classes that may be of interest to you. Once you have established a current record, you may then apply to the University as a transfer student to complete your studies.

I refuse to take this as an insult, but is it that I am not qualified to study at university or what. Based on what I have learnt so much on nairaland, it is not advisable to apply to a community college, like u guys said because of the VO. Pls help on this. I need your advise. Do u think other universities will accept me.

Thanks

deevick246: I need all the inputs I can get on this issue. What is the likelihood of securing a F1 Visa with a Provisional admission? Here is more information why the PA was offered. The PA was offered because the Graduate School requires a 3.0 GPA for a Regular Admission but a 2.9. GPA was presented and that was why the Provisional Admission was offered. This School in question is ranked high in the list of school's offering the programme of study. I need anyone who got F1 Visa with PA or anyone with a useful information to drop a line or two.

PoliticsRe: Why Do People Hate Bola Tinubu? by kpolli(m): 2:48am On Oct 16, 2012
expertman: Guys,

I have been reading comments on Nl and other forums and I have noticed that so many people just dislike Senator Bola Tinubu. I am not a supporter of the senator and I have no interest in promoting him but I just want an objective argument for the widespread criticism. Let's not mention that he was corrupt as a governor because we all know that EVERY single one of our governors are corrupt but I can tell you that I know what Lagos looked like before Bola Tinubu became governor and I know what Lagos looks like today. How come the rest of the other governors who stole money from their people cannot achieve what Bola Tinubu has achieved in the southwest with ACN? He set the stage for Gov. Fashola and look at Lagos now under his watch. I don't get it, what is the "Bad Belle" about?
Please what did Lagos look like?

Considering d cost of getting househelps over there, ur wife is probably a full time housewife with no income of hers.

mamaxxx: I had always planned to remain a virgin till I got married.. I tried to stick to this plan but at the age of 22 I lost my virginity and I absolutely loved it.

Its 4 yrs later now and I have slept with more than 15 men. I'm currently in a relationship that I'm hoping would lead to marriage.

The other day my partner asked me how many men I'd been with before him and I said 5! I was too ashamed to say the real figure.

Is 15 high? Whats average for a girl my age?
In Naija of today 15 ain't high
RomanceRe: Reasons Black Guys Prefer White Girls!!!!! by kpolli(m): 2:40am On Oct 15, 2012
david6: The white girl topic is like the elephant in the room right now. Everyone sees it, but no one wants to acknowledge it. Anyway, here's 10 reasons black men prefer white girls.

10. White girls can get their hair wet. It's summer time. Who wants to be at the pool with a girl who's only concern is not getting her weave wet. White girls just jump in the pool without any care.

09. White girls don't talk back. Put a little aggression in your voice and she will do whatever you say. Black girls always wanna fight. Always.

08. Its easier introducing them to your family/friends. Everyone, this is Amber is WAY easier on the ears than, Everyone, this is Shaniqua. Just saying.

07. White girls have WAY less restrictions in the bedroom than ’’’other races.’’’ You can basically do whatever, wherever with them. And they'll smile through it all.

06. White girls aren't looking to be in a rap video. Meaning when y'all go out, she's not looking for you to buy out the bar’ and light the club up with sparklers. She doesn't care about any of that shit. She just wants her drinks and music.

05. White girls have no problem spoiling their men with gifts. The LOVE that shit! It's an ego boost for them. (See Kim Kardashians birthday present to Kanye? Ok then.)

04. White girls don't give you as many headaches as other races. There's no nagging, complaining, and other annoying ass behavior. No running through your phone and wanting to know who such and such’ is.

03. White girls cater to and love to take care of their men. Cooking? No problem. Cleaning? No problem. Anything else you want? No problem.

02. You ever receive head from a white girl? I rest my case.

Which all really sums up my number 1 reason black guys prefer white women:

01. White girls are just more FUN. There's no other way to put it. If you just want to have fun without any of the negative shit, get you a white girl......what do u all fink!
Which black guys prefer which white girls. . . . Pls speak for urself

stev007: I was discussing with a female friend who said that for the past 8yrs, she has not set eyes on her husband. Her husband after their marriage 8yrs ago, traveled to europe but has not returned. Although they speak regularly on the phone, he insisted that he will only come back to Nigeria when he must have gotten enough money that will make him not have any need to travel abroad again. The girl in question has only a little boy to show for her marriage. It made me to wonder, How long can you stay without your partner or boyfriend/galfriend? A day, a week, a month or years? As for me, I can't last a month wink
Ur still growing

sagaa: Dear fellow Nairalanders, der is a part in the DS-160 form which asks "Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa"? let me xplain my case..
I have once been a victim of circumstance when i applied for F-1 visa wif my Naija "P" which had a resident permit on it cos i was living in GHANA then in 2003(but now expired and now changed to an e- passport 2012) for my undergrad studies @the US embassy in GHANA(Accra) and was involved in/accused of presenting a forged WAEC result/certificate...hence i was denied. So,i came bak 2 naija in 2004,had my BSc in one of the UNIVERSITIES,graduated 2008,served NYSC,have 3yrs working exp.in d oil and gas sector, and i hv just been issued my I-20 for MSc. for d Spring semester 2013. Of cuz i nw have a new E-passport and nw bak to d main Question-"Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa"? pls house wat wud be my response to the above? shud i say 'NO' cos i had my interview in GHANA in 2003 and dat the passport is nw expired and changed to an e-Passport or tell the truth(YES)and explain on the interview day when asked by presenting the Original WAEC Certificate ..and even if i want to tell the truth, do i need to explain all that transpired on the space provided in the DS-160 formhuh I wud be having my interview in LAGOS nxt month..i took d GRE,TOEFL,good statement of account.. etc. I am worried it might have an effect on the outcome of my visa interview nxt month.. i donno.. pls reply ASAP ..housemates..
N.B- I took the Biometrics(finger-print)then at the US Embassy in GHANA 2003.
Just say the truth, and summarize ur reason. . . . Just say Incomplete documents or something

jimtosam: My Experience with company account. It has to be well packaged. I used it and God took control. Even no questions were raised about it. Cos, the name on the I-20 is my Uncle's name who happened to be the CEO of the company. So, my Uncle is sponsoring me through his company account. You get that.. Now, a limited liability company that has a board, why will the CEO decided to do that, it calls for packaging.

Packaging:
1. If you are not working in that your father's company, it won't be ideal. You must be working there and go to the embassy with your employment letter.
2. You must get a study leave letter. The company must include some projects they are doing that require some area of expertise and they have envisaged replication of such projects in the future, that's why they need to send you out for knowledge now.
3. You father's letter that will follow the statement must include that the whole board of the company accepted this decision (cos it's limited liability). I have a format for that.

So, let your dad's name be on the I-20. Send the company's bank statement to school but in the school affidavit form, your dad will write his name and sign as sponsor. The school will not care about the name on statement. Father will be written on the I-20.

If this packaging is well done as described above, The following questions will never be raised by the VO;

1. Why is the company sponsoring your education. (employment letter don answer that)
2. What is the relationship of your pursuit with the company's goal (father's letter don answer that and some projects awarded letter)
3. What will you do after your study (study leave don answer that).

Thanks.
Must u ppl always look for formathuh The simple truth works better, all these bulky ?s u wud be generating when the cash in her mother's account would shut all these ?s up. . . . Plus if she is going for undergrad nko wey just finish secondary skool nko

TravelRe: Few Nigerians Work As Cabin-Crew On International Airlines? by kpolli(m): 4:10pm On Oct 13, 2012
AjanleKoko: Just occurred to me that you hardly ever run into Nigerians working as cabin crew on any of the major airlines.
Not even the ones with a huge national outlook, like BA, Lufthansa, or KLM. Even airlines like Qatar, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, that hire a very diverse mix, you find a lot of Kenyans, Ethiopian, and black South Africans working as cabin crew on those airlines.

But I have only ever come across one or two Nigerians on any of these airlines. One was obviously a Brit, though with a Nigerian name (that was on a BA flight to Toronto), and the other was on Qatar. And I fly international a lot, something like six times a year.

Anybody have a clue why this is so? I mean, we are quite well-represented in most endeavors across the world. I am not sure it is a reputation thing (before people start talking about Nigerians' bad image). It can't possibly be that.

Any ideas?
Congrats
