Jokes EtcRe: 10 Types Of People On Nairaland by kpolli(m): 6:49pm On Nov 24, 2012
iamswizz: 1. The Lurker – This person never posts anything. Never likes anything. Never comments on anything. However, in casual conversation they will mention, "Oh yeah, I saw you had posted that on Nairaland." You know they are there, but they leave no trace evidence.

2. The Stalker – The stalker is not that much different from the lurker. You know they are there. You know they read EVERYTHING you post. They may even mention it to others in face-to-face conversations. They look at all your photos. They may even send you chat messages or post on your wall – a lot. As with stalkers in real life, the Nairaland stalker must be gotten rid of. Stalking is a crime out here in the real world. My suggestion – Mods block them.

3. The Thief – Have you ever posted something on Nairaland only to find that the thread has been taken over by someone else? They may just take over the conversation or they may change the subject entirely. They may even steal your status and post it as their own. i am also a thief because i stole this idea and edited some few things..... If it keeps happening, unfriend them or block them.

4. The Attention Seeker – The attention seeker posts cryptic comments like, "how does this change the price of garri in the market,"

5. The Promoter – This Nairalander only posts links to his/her blog, or invites you to every concert, or only posts about Mary Kay or Scentsy or For Ladies Only. I don't mind shameless self-promotion, but use other social sites for that, not your personal profile.

6. The gamer – Does nothing else than to come to nairaland and start up silly games.....

7. The preacher – This optimist only posts inspirational topics or anything related to God. I love God. He is totally awesome. I love inspirational quotes too. Just don't make it the only think your nairaland account is about. Or, get a fan page.

8. The Drunk – While great for entertainment late at night, or in some extreme cases by 10am, the drunk only posts when they have had one too many. Posts often need a cypher to understand and can be very angry. It is suggested that you advise your friend against drunk posting. If you ARE the drunk I highly recommend quitting. Drinking. Not commenting on Nairaland. Then you don't have to wake up and try to delete drunken posts all your friends already saw anyway.

9. The Whiner – Every topic is about how horrible their life is. How much it hurts or sucks to be them. They post cryptic comments like, "I told you, you know who you are," in the hopes that people will fall into their trap and ask what happened. They also tend to over share personal details. I don't need to know about your bathroom habits. we dont want to know your problems, okhuh

10. The Poor Grammarian – This is the person who spells so badly that you want to ask how on Earth they can not write simple sentences in their native language. Punctuation is ignored or abused. Even if you are using a smart phone to post to Facebook, they have spell check! They have auto correct. They have qwerty keyboards. At least TRY to spell correctly! Please. ok?

Which type of N airalandLord are you?
Very wrong analysis

imperiouxx: What I copied up there are the charges in my bank here (State tax + wire transfer charge) on certain amount of money sent from outside North America.

So, it's going to be your $26 + $1.16 + $15 = $42.16

$42.16 x N162($ to N) = N6829.92

N6829.92 + Nigeria bank charge of about N6000 or more = too much on just $26

It pays when sending thousands of dollar and which isn't the case now.
Y didn't u just send a money order?

ANNOUNCEMENT:

After the first round, there would be an elimination in sections with more contestants on one side than the other side to even it out.

Example: In wife beaters debate, if there are more debaters opposing than supporting ( 5 vs 3), there would be eliminations on both sides (3 would be eliminated) just to have the same numbers on both sides (2 vs 2).

Thank you

Please watch out for more announcements.

sagaa: Dear fellow Nairalanders, der is a part in the DS-160 form which asks "Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa"? let me xplain my case..
I have once been a victim of circumstance when i applied for F-1 visa wif my Naija "P" which had a resident permit on it cos i was living in GHANA then in 2003(but now expired and now changed to an e- passport 2012) for my undergrad studies @the US embassy in GHANA(Accra) and was involved in/accused of presenting a forged WAEC result/certificate...hence i was denied. So,i came bak 2 naija in 2004,had my BSc in one of the UNIVERSITIES,graduated 2008,served NYSC,have 3yrs working exp.in d oil and gas sector, and i hv just been issued my I-20 for MSc. for d Spring semester 2013. Of cuz i nw have a new E-passport and nw bak to d main Question-"Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa"? pls house wat wud be my response to the bolded question above? shud i say 'NO' cos i had my interview in GHANA in 2003 and dat the passport is nw expired and changed to an e-Passport or tell the truth(YES)and explain on the interview day when asked by presenting the Original WAEC Certificate ..and even if i want to tell the truth, do i need to explain all that transpired on the space provided in the DS-160 form.. I wud be having my interview in LAGOS nxt month..i took d GRE,TOEFL,good statement of account.. etc. I am worried it might have an effect on the outcome of my visa interview nxt month.. i donno.. pls reply ASAP ..housemates..
N.B- I took the Biometrics(finger-print)then at the US Embassy in GHANA 2003.
Have u rectified ur WAEC issue now?

Efe am not shocked at ur responses. . . I hope u know u r the one portraying rigging characteristics. . . Cos for the creator of the forum to put mouth cos of u, shows that ur the soliciting favours. . . Other contestants saw this but laughed it off or u wanna claim they r only trying to cheat u. . . Typical Nigerian crying wolf when nothing happened. . . As the organiser, I know there is no monetary reward so I dunno what the fuss is about. . . Its a place for us to come and have fun. . You just want to be ur usual self and spoil it for everyone. . . I dunno how ppl like u sleep at nite. . .sorry to say. . . As for the rest who think that we are being unfair in any way, u shud have volunteered ur services b4 now. . .

At this 11th hour, I don't think its feasible to change the judges and organisers. . . After working on this debate, I don't think its wise to allow an over grown babies unprofessionalism to spark unrest on what we have strived hard to get so far. . . An innocent joke was misjudged by an illiterate and cos of that the structure should be changed? I don't agree. . . It took us more than a month to gather contestants, how much longer wud it be to get females ready to judge and organize this. . . The panel was sent up for a reason. . . So pls let's not allow a contestant who is already fearing defeat to spoil our plans. . . Good day

Yvete: See me see wahala! I don't wish to dig up any dirt, but I feel the need to respond to you. Did I ask you not to attend the community college or imply that your Dad is not rich? FYI: As a smart lady, grin I transferred to a community college for 2 years to "keep extra change in my pocket". The primary reason I stumbled on this thread is because two of my cousins need help. Everything I know, I learned on here. If I know-it-all, I wont encourage Mamacita to read over 300 pages of this thread in its entirety from part 1! Why would I intentionally discourage someone else when I'm praying for the same visa for family? Note: Anything you post online (facebook, twitter, nairaland, youtube...etc) is up for maybe-not-what-you-want-to-hear responses.

Everyone talks about OPT, OPT, OPT. After my undergrad, I didn't even use it because someone told me how to get the H1B directly. If I didn't talk about it, would I know what to do? Swallow your darn pride and learn. Obviously, not from me.

I work in front of a computer from 9-5, and occasional boredom brings me to Nairaland so your success or delay has nothing to do with me. We're not friends and may never see each other so learn NOT to take things personally. Please don't discourage yourself in quest for undue respect.
Now following "Auntie" Yvete, pls follow back. . .

Leave matter for Mathias jor

Broo you wont kill mee with lafff...

Yes 23401 is meant for a county in virgina but you oughtt to know thats a state in the US not a country.... And we do have own local zipcode also. But internationaly, 23401 is meant for lagos nigeria. Maybe the image below will closed the argument. grin
Tot we had closed this matter, but just to have the last say. . . . 3rd world countries (aka Nigeria) use international zip code of 00000. . . .

walex57: Kpolli...the only reason i didn't respond to your reply was just because you seem to want to put up a quarrel about the zip code thing and i like playing safe...all i know is that i do use 23401 or 23402 for ibadan and my mails got to me...but i don't think it should really be an issue...more so we all understand english and know how to seek answers (replying to your "what is a zip code" question)...i didn't expect such question in the context in which you used it 'cos i could read a thousand and one meanings to that question the way you asked it...no hard feelings bro.
Sorry if I sounded harsh or out of line. . . . wasn't in my best of moods. . .

I only responded to the poster not to be afraid cos naija's official zip code is not 23401 so that can't be the reason he wasnt seeing the tracked info until some ppl who knew best tried to challenge knowledge. . . .

Beware do not use 23401 on sites like paypal. . . . Your mailing international so the 23401 we all use is discarded. . . Zip code is for couriers to know their nearest location to ur residence is. . . I have used 23401 well before but I just needed to clear the air before we continue saying 23401 is naija's zip code. . . one day ur mail wud go to virginia. . . .

Plus seriously google 23401, and read what it says. . . . Before you know it, it would be blacklisted. . . . Biofem is actually right 00000 is supposed to be our official zip code
