Politics / Re: President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Would Win 2015 Presidential Election. by Kponkwem(m): 4:35pm On Dec 27, 2013 |
Op, its totally wrong to dream or talk about 2015 presidential election. I will give you valid permutations: 1. Jonathan has patriotically advocated a six year single term which he had hoped to be extended within his current term till 2017 thereby saving the hoopla of 2015. 2. When this failed, GEJ again tabled the Nat'l Confab with a solid budget of N7bn in 2014. The outcome of the confab will usher in a decentralised federation with only a weak central govt. 3. Finally, GEJ is not desperate to win 2015 election! Rather than the next election, he is thinking about the next generation. He is going to entrench social justice for all oppressed Nigerians in 2014. There's going to be improved power, roads, PIB, refinery sale with 60 percent local content, oil block re-allocation, and new revenue formula. Stop breaking ur head over 2015, GEJ is not interested, just pulling through with major reforms. This is my permuation and I will refer back to it when the game begins... |

[quote author=Mayor_of_Lagos]I wonder where he got his reasoning about Ghana and Sierra Leone accomodating us. Is there a planned battle in SW thats expected to push refugees westward into Ghana? Lol. We should reflect back to Obj's letter and the three incidences of 1. Bayelsa guest house lodging terrorists in Lagos. 2. Ihejirika statement to Lagos press about a method of mass destruction in urban environment, which is to include empty gas tankers loaded with bombs; and which Gej repeated in his response to Obj's letter few days ago. 3. Asari's arrest for gun running across the border in Yoruba backyard. Why would Ghana be a choice for refugees escaping attack in East or in North? It can only be a choice for those in West, right? Im glad Obasanjo has eyes out there monitoring these events. [/quote Unquencheable paranoia |

Even in the present so called SS, the Igbo speaking peoples are still in the majority a la Ikwerre, Etche, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni, Ahoada, Anioma etc. 1 Like |

Going by the four known cardinal points, CRS and A Ibom are more South Eastern than Enugu and Anambra, and indeed they were known by that as a state in the 1970s. If not for the politics of control of oil resources and the need to ensure that Igbos are kept permanently down, the amorphous SS, which is neither contigous nor consanguine, ought not to be a geo-political entity. And several scholars continue to question the validity of that creation. 6 Likes |

The Igbo speaking peoples are still the majority in the SS. Attempts by haters to obliterate this fact has failed woefully. Thankfully this fact is obvious with the Ikwerre, Etche, Obigbo, Ogba-Egbema, Ahoada, Anioma etc. All Igbo are one. Why do u annex itshekiri people and refuse the idea of Igbo unity? 3 Likes |

Politics / Re: Hmm!!! Abia State Set To Build A Seaport by Kponkwem(m): 12:38pm On Dec 25, 2013 |
Igbo haters need not shiver 'cos the project is still in the works. However, even if T.A. doesn't deliver, which I know he won't, this is a masterstroke. Akwa Ibom is building the first Eastern deep sea port at Ibaka, which is just 30 mins drive from Azumini in Abia State. So far Eastern ports in PH, Onne and Calabar are not with direct sea access and are mainly for oil, and light goods barges. All T.A. Orji need to do is to open up Obuaku as a barge hub for Ibaka or enter another mou with Akpabio as he did on the Aba-Uyo expressway, to build monorail for cargo goods direct to Aba dry port from the Ibaka sea port. The dry port has been stalled due to inadequate FG incentive to private sector investors. If this is not done I'm afraid the project may be higher than the state purse to begin dredging. Remember Calabar port is yet to be dredged over 10 years after it free trade zone and Tinapa. 1 Like |

TribalEAST: Avoiding this thread: igbo smoking people. Why do u like to play the ostrich always? If u think the bloody Mugba Mugba wars, the bloody ritualism, plygamy, polytheism, osun-sango worship, bloody armed robbery, participation in the unjust civil war, intra-inter ethnic political betrayals and assasinations etc in yorubaland etc. are not enough to atone for in yorubaland then leave ndigbo to do theirs. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chr 7:14 |

Umuahia, the beautiful capital of Abia State welcomes all Abians non Abians alike to this year's Christmas. Aside the city centre, there will be festivities across the over 25 towns and villages in the large city. Other towns in the state such as Aba, Ukwa, Arochukwu, Ohafia, Abiriba, Bende, Igbere etc is already swarming with returnees. Sentiments apart, the city is intrinsically sublime, clean and well-planned with European style narrow roads. I completely agree with those who believe the current governor T. A. Orji has not done well. But the truth is that the foundation of this city, like others in the East was laid by the British and Premier Michael Okpara. This is just few sights of Umuahia, I admit most of the pictures are blurred due to my device:

The deluded power agitators have forgotten that the oil money with which this country runs is also coming from the zone of the minority President. With what we SE and SS know now about the oil politics and divide and rule tactics, it will be hard to just chase our own out of power. Let genuine election be conducted if any change will occur. And we want others to use their resources not ours! |
Politics / This Is New Nigeria After National Confab In 2014 by Kponkwem(m): 8:21pm On Dec 23, 2013 |
President Goodluck Jonathan will eventually be the leader Nigerians will come to respect with the proposed national conference, which the Yoruba Afenifere believes is much more important to the region than the hoopla over succession in 2015 general election. They told GEJ in the villa last week that "history will judge him fairly if you will address this structural quagmire we are in." Nairalanders from my tour of the SS, SE and SW, this eventually will be the outcome: 1) That the six zones be recognised as autonomous and federating units 2)The President shall serve one term six years tenure on rotational basis of the six geo-political zones 3)That the vice President be nominated from another zone and in the event of the demise of the President, his zone of origin will replace him not the vice 4) That the office of President be largely weak with four or five exclusive items: defence, currency, foreign affairs and National orientation/civic operations. 5) That each zone retains 50 percent earnings from its natural resources, IGR etc and contribute 20 percent to a weaker centre while 30 percent is for the general pool to be redistributed equally 6) That the parliament shall not be bicameral but cabinet system. 7) That the judiciary be decentralised with each zone having its High, Appeal and Supreme Courts That each zone should maintain consular relations with external states and agencies 9)That the Police be decentralize with each zone maintaining its Police according to their crime and security peculiarities 10) That each zone shall have a gov-general who will overseer existing states, now collapsed as administrative provinces 11) That each zone pursue policies, economic, infrastructural policies etc that will best serve its best priorities and develop its people within their own pace and capabilities. These and many more will be the crux of the new national architecture that will indeed bury the drummings and group positionings for 2015 elections. The major clog may be the National Assembly not endorsing a referendum or attempting to tamper with the outcome. Then certain disadvantage sections seeking a change such as the Yoruba, Igbo, minorities, ethnic based organisations, civil society and many national reformists may react kick seriously. GEJ the builder is sent at this point in time for this onerous task. Let's pray he gets it right and it does not go out of control and purpose. 10 Likes |

Good move. It will be nearer where my mansion is going on. Olokoro outskirts with a route to the Aba-PH highway will be the best central location that can easily service Abians outside the East from the Ukwa Ngwa and Ohafia-Arochukwu axis. A number of Ebonyians from Afikpo-Uburu, Ishagu will equally make use of it. Whether the poorly performing gov likes it or not Abia must be good and remains God's Own State. |
Politics / Re: How Northern Elite Control Nigeria’s Oil Wealth by Kponkwem(m): 9:03pm On Dec 22, 2013 |
Ikengawo: And they're telling gullible Yoruba people that jonathan is the 'problem' with Nigeria Not all Yoruba are gullibly seeking the return of Northern hegemony. The experiences of Abiola and Diya has taught them a lesson. Apart from the few vultures in APC, how many Afenifere leaders are against GEJ? For want of formidable alliance, the Arewa have gone to them. But as Tinubu's influence continue to reduce due to influx of many Northern Nat'l Assembly members, who having gotten majority will dictate the leadership in the party, he will have no option than to play the Ribadu card again with GEJ. Just watch the Northerner will not win among Yoruba voters. |
