@udenna, go piddle a poodle ya spoonheaded self-servicer. he talks well? so the children that are being murdered like flies killed biafrans in the 60s? don't be obtuse. do you think gowon is affected personally by the carnage going on? stop talking like a child and call it as you see it. this has nothing to do with any repercussion or karma or whatever you want to call it. this is premeditated mass murder and genocide for flimsy reasons, whether they be religious or ethnic.

The Jos massacre is pale in comparison to the pogrom of 1966 and yet some morons would stroll onto this forum to mouth-off that Biafrans should have turned the other cheek It was on record that forbearers of today’s victims had hands in pogrom of 1966. This is the beginning of future events.

I see nothing wrong with Dede's comment. Don't be a coward admit that u know he is telling the truth coz it shall set u free.

I don't like seeing these images but that is what we Igbos are used to, when a truck load of dead bodies are transported from North to East.

The point is, I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN IN GOWON'S TOWN!

This is still very small to what that clown did to us.
hmmn, people who were not even born during or immediaely after the civil war are now experts. nairaland will always be a place where puerile and churlish tribalistic morons propound useless theorems. this has nothing to do with biafra, so my igbo brethren, get over yourselves!!! Nobody is happy seeing dead women and children, so wishing this to happen in gowon's town is just plain stupid and mean. will that bring back all the past dead? what do you want? a blood sacrifice? ignorant vampire!

^metatarsals are the bones the feet are made off and seeing as he broke his fifth metartarsal which is the biggest one it would be accurate to say he broke his foot. like u imply,it would be nice to give this issue a rest already. i mean half of the people on here had probably never heard the name 'shawcross' before. so much controversy in the game this year so far.
the bones of the foot are the tarsals, metatarsals and the phalanges. the 5th metatarsal is connected to the smallest toe. it is certainly not the biggest one. hee hee, while you are applying your knowledge of biology, i am using that of anatomy. trust me, a fracture of the metatarsal is nowhere close to breaking your tibia and fibula. yes, i am a doctor grin grin grin

thats rubbish mate. the rules of the game do not make allowance for what may or may not happen after a tackle. the rules make provision for the ref to deal with the intent(if malicious) and nature(if reckless) of a tackle not the aftermath of the tackle.this is why players can get sent off for kicking out at the air when it is clear that the intention was to kick an opponent.to establish my point, was paulo fereirra sent off for breaking rooneys foot in the 2005/2006 season? no and rightly so, because the tackle was fair and the injury, accidental.in this case, the red card is extremely harsh. shawcross had every right to go for that ball and there is nothing malicious about the way he did. looking at that tackle one would never have expected anything serious to come out of it. i was shocked to see the broken leg cuz worse tackles than this happen every other day. guys injuries are a part of professional sport, they are an occupational hazard! i feel so sorry for ramsey but lets not take things out of context.
shawcross had no right to lunge for a ball he had already miscontrolled and let go. the referee HAD to send him off. if referee watson failed to do so, the match would have degenerated into a fiasco. as shawcross was lunging into the tackle, i imagine the words of tony pulis ringing in his ears. words telling his thuggish players to go in hard on the foreign pussies of arsenal. shawcross has a record of hurting other players in his young career. he had to know he was second favorite for the ball. 9 times out of 10, he could have made that tackle and nothing would have happened, but just that one time, he broke the leg of the other player. simple. rooney's foot was not broken, the metatarsal was. do you want to compare that to breaking BOTH leg bones? anyhow, that's all water under the bridge, shawcross will serve his 3 match ban, ramsey will be back in a year, and nigeria will get embarassed at south africa 2010 grin grin grin

it is inevitable that defenders will mistime a few challenges and thats what the ref is for. in this particular case it was a 50 50 ball which might loo otherwise simply ecause ramsey was much quicker than shawcross. the ball was initially shawcross's but he ovrplayed it, giving ramsey an opening. Ramsey goes into that tackle just as aggressively as shawcross and the referee himself has admitted he would not have given a red card if not for the broken leg
ramsey goes into the tackle aggressively? dude were you watching brilla fm? ramsey was not going into any tackle, he was trying to play the fecking ball. of course he gave the red card for the broken leg, you break someones leg, you should be sent off!! 50-50 ball or not.

It's easy to pick out these hard tackles now simply because this player is under scrutiny. How many Premier league players haven't made hard tackles on others in the past 3 years?

Football is a physical sport and there are definitely going to be hard tackles. As long as it's a fair tackle and there's no intent to cause harm, what's the issue?

Perhaps you folk should call for an age limit on players in the premier league. Bringing young folks whose bones have  not ossified into close physical contact with hardened players is a recipe for disaster. That makes more sense than calling for a ban on poor Shawncross.
hardened players? not likely. shawcross is 22. and at 18, your bones are ossified just fine. you bro, know me personally and you know i know what i'm talking about. as for players being young, you are a man united fan so i will use them as an example. what age did giggs begin playing for united? beckham? anderson and nani? ronaldo? what age did rooney score that oh so fanastic goal against arsenal?

Get rerady to be hammered by the "Lynch Shawcross" crusaders
no need for him to get hammered. let's get some facts straight, ryan shawcross has a history of being a violent tackler. october 2007, ryan shawcross breaks the ankle of former arsenal player franny jeffers. november 2008, shawcross slides in hard on adebayor, injuring him for 3 weeks. february 2010, ryan shawcross breaks the tibia and fibula of aaron ramsey in a 50-50 challenge. did he mean to break the leg? no he did not, but he did. you do not make those kind of crunching challenges day in day out without knowing that one day you will cause some serious damage. look for videos of shawcross when he was on loan to one of the man united feeder clubs, i forget the name now, and you will see him making wild lunges every 5 mins. this same shawcross was whingeing like a bleeping pussy when fabregas slid him in the first half. i dont mean to come on hard on him like this, but he is somehow being made out to be the victim in all this. rooney offered him public backing. that demento fergusson called him to lend him moral support. tony pulis, sky sports, alan hansen, alan shearer, stan collymore and the media hacks at itv have all come out to say "oh, he is not that kind of player", well, who is? if he were a foreigner, he would be hounded to death. i remember when that deportivo player broke beckham's metatarsal, the british journalists stopped short of calling for his head, personally went to spain and hounded him all the while. but because it involves just another of the 'brats' from arsenal, and a welsh one, suddenly its shawcross that needs support or counselling? what of the young man who may never play footie again? if it was rooney that had his leg broken, we would have had a public hue and cry the world over that you would be forgiven for thinking that someone just shot obama. perspective people!!! shawcross is a dangerous player. him and all the thugs at stoke, bolton and blackburn. just read ricardo fuller's pre match notes to know the stoke grand plan for the match. a team packed full of body builders with little or no skill, with their best player being a towel on the sidelines grin grin

what an utter toff of a retard. would you like me to tackle you like that? we all agree that it was not intentional, but to suggest that it happened because of the age of the player is just plain stupid. besides, as you grow older, your bones tend to get more brittle and become more predisposed to breakage. ask your doctor, you tool.

i use to think a kick has more strenght that hand strike thats why i prefer taekwondo. well i will give both a try. thanks man for the advise. i appreciate
trust me, though kicks are more powerful than punches as a rule, you have far more versatility with your hands, added to the fact that your hands are faster. there are literally hundreds of different hand striking combinations that can be used to a lethal effect. i only studied taekwondo because karate was'nt allowed in nuga games. besides, if you have the misfortune of fighting with 3 or 4 guys, would you rather kick than punch your way out of it? i and almost every other martial artist would prefer their feet firmly on the ground while dishing out holy hell with clenched fists grin grin grin

with the way it is now in the nigerian martial arts world, you probably have to learn about 2 or 3 different arts to become a balanced all-round fighter. my advice would be for one to start with karate, then move over to judo. dont waste your time with taekwondo. that's a shitty martial art. take the word of an expert for it. i happen to be highly skilled in karate(3rd dan black belt), with a black also in taekwondo(what a waste) and a brown in judo. right now i'm scouring the net for materials on vale tudo. now that's one bad ass, no holds barred full contact martial art form

Are you saying every country can afford a friendly? Did you fart that out of your brain?

Now tell me why Amodu is not fit to take us to the WC. Be specific with your reasons, I am giving you benefit of doubt that you are intelligent enough to know how to give specific reasons, so please don't disappoint me.

Then tell me your top 5 coaches that you would prefer to take us to the WC 2010 and why you feel they are better suited. Try and make sure your choices are realistic, so don't come with crap like Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger, Capello etc.
sagamite or sodomite or whatever the feck you call yourself, keep your insults to yourself sir!!! you can get your point across without insulting people. you are not the only one who can do so. even if every country cannot afford a friendly game, nigeria certainly can!

Sagamite:
Please explain to me why you think Amodu is bereft of ideas and is clueless as to what it takes to manage a team in this new age of football.
a coach that says he does not need any friendly game to tune up his players before a crucial world cup qualifying tie? maybe its the way he just stands and mopes when games do not go well for naija? we want to see our coach dishing out instructions, not standing and hugging the stanchions of the dugout stands. has amodu ever watched a local league game while being super eagles coach? we all see capello, lippi, maradona, dunga et al doing that. mark my words. amodu will fail miserably first at the nations cup, then at the world stage.
