I just wrote the exam with a neighbor's laptop and he told me that he installed web cam in his laptop. Pls do you think PwC wud have permitted me to access the exam if I had no web cam in the system? Or do they allow candidates to write exam whether there's web cam or not then later disqualify you?

How I got into PwC – Job Test, Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ) and Interviews

I am writing this piece to inform and guide individuals who are trying to get into PwC. Here is my story:

Not having an Accounting/finance background, I initially thought getting into the big 4 was beyond my reach, irrespective of the fact that it was clearly stated as a criteria that anyone from any course of study is eligible to apply. I saw those getting into these firms as super humans and not in my league. So in my first attempt at PwC, the self-belief was lacking and I wrote the test with self doubt and unsurprisingly I didn't scale through. I later realised that a friend of mine, without an accounting background or prior experience, in the same circumstance as i am scaled through. Then it dawned on me that it was actually possible to get into PwC if my mindset was right.

In my second attempt, I got in. What did I do differently?

The recruitment processes are in 3 stages and usually last for between 5 - 6 months:

1. Proctored Online test (SHL) (the timeline to take the test is usually around 4-5 days and feedback is received 1-2 weeks later)

2. OPQ (Occupational personality questionnaire) (timeline to take the test is around 3-4 days and feedback is received about 2 weeks later)

3. Interview (this spans for about 1 month and feedback is received between 2 weeks to 1 month from the last date of interview)

The aptitude tests are of 2 sections, verbal and numerical and how I was able to navigate through that hurdle was to constantly practice the past questions materials in order to familiarize myself with the question styles and techniques. I made sure I covered the past questions from front to back (The materials I studied with are available at the Job test section of Q and A App, Install the App on Playstore

I also joined WhatsApp study groups where we thrashed out difficult questions too. That really helped put me in great shape for the test.

For the second stage (OPQ), its all about your personality/traits and whether or not, it aligns with that of the firm as well as the Business unit you apply for. How i was able to navigate that was that i combed their websites to know more about the firm, their values, mission and vision. I also reached out to people already working in the firm (especially via LinkedIn) in order to gain more insights about the company, the values and attributes they hold dear. These really helped and it enabled me align my responses to the values of the firm. Consistency in your response also is very important because a question could come in different forms and you have to be consistent with your responses.

For the last stage (interview): When I got to the interview stage.........

Good day all.

I'm a fresh graduate that just finished his NYSC at Abuja and now currently in a state of dilemma in choosing a more comfortable place to reside with future prospects between Abuja and Lagos.

Firstly, I don't have any connection,so in case you're giving me an advice to remain back in Abuja you shud also consider that aspect as well; cos I know for you to get a decent job in Abuja requires big time connection which I don't have yet.
Secondly, I was thinking of moving back to Lagos cos there are more better job opportunities over there to Abuja where if you don't have connections you won't get decent job.

What I want is a place where there's better job opportunities between the two and also which among the two have better nightlife in terms of hangout and catching fun

Pls, your candid advice is needed

I was recently posted to Niger state for my compulsory NYSC for 2020 Batch B stream 2.

For the few days I was here I noticed Niger state doesn't have a good PPA and that have kept me wondering over time whether to stay or not.

I am currently a platoon leader and I believe my platoon officer will help me in getting a good PPA but my question is which is the best PPA one can consider to be posted to interms of free accommodation and good pay from the PPA since the state doesn't pay?

I've been considering of Fut Minna but don't know if they provide accommodation for corps members. Another place I'm considering is Suleja but don't know which is the best PPA to be posted there( actually I wud love to be posted to any higher institution but it must have a good pay). I wud also love to know if Minna have low electrical power supply or they don't have at all

I was just recently posted for my NYSC at Niger state, Minna city. But the little challenges I have currently is that I don't know the route over there neither have I been there before. I'm actually coming from Ore in Ondo state.

I tried consulting Google the I got something like this
Ore- Akure- Owo- Ibilo- Okene - Lokoja- Abuja

My questions are as follows:
1. Do you think the route guide as outlined by Google is heedable?
2. How many hours can it take me from Ore to Arrive at Minna?
3. If I shud cut my journey, which is the safest place(the state)to pass a night so I can continue my journey the following morning?
4. Like how much will it cost me to go on such hectic journey using recent transportation costs?
5 I've heard a lot of terrible things that happened along Okene to Lokoja/ Abuja axis, how can I avoid such risk?
6 what other advice can you give to a first- timer like me?

Career / Professional Or Business? by Kriximpecable: 10:56pm On Nov 10, 2020
Good pm nairalanders.
Pls I'm on cross road between chosing a professional course(ICAN) and running a personal business (Agriculture)

I recently graduated from one of the best University last year from the department of Banking and finance.

Right from my childhood days my innermost dream and passion has always been to become a chartered accountant. I so much love that profession with so much passion. Nevertheless, these days because of the hardship and economy quagmire our country (Nigeria) is currently passing through with regards to Job opportunity, slave free and high payment of salary for university graduates and professionals I'm considering of starting an agricultural business(fish pond or poultry)after I've concluded my NYSC. Now I have a budget of 500k which I don't know which one to best invest between agricultural business and ICAN exams (though I'm certain of passing the whole exams all at one sitting) My NYSC will be starting from next month and I'll be putting these thoughts into consideration.NB: the ICAN exams will be written and pass by me before I finish my service that's if I consider professional course; while the poultry or fish pond business will commence after my NYSC that's if I consider agricultural business.

What do you think pls??

Shud I write my ICAN exams and become a chartered accountant before concluding for my NYSC or I shud use the money to start up an agricultural business like poultry or fish pond after my NYSC.

Professional advice is needed here pls!

The point is... You are a simp for letting a girl below you be in the position to tell you "no" without you knowing the next point of action you should do is to delete her like she never existed.

And again

Stop going for girls you'd manage... Manage comes with a lot of baggage

So why were you trying to date someone you already decided was below your standards? Is it an ego trip to boost your morale, which explains why once she rejected you, it resulted in you creating a thread for it?

To answer your post, I don't see the big deal in her saying "No" to dating you or whatever you had proposed to happen between you two. Choices are what makes us human. She doesnt "feel" you and sticking around waiting for her attention is like diminishing your value. You should move on completely and find someone else to date; preferably someone in the same class as you this time around.

Okay boss. Thanks

It's a normal thing. Girls instinctively know when a guy is way above them. And if you approach a girl too low for you, the probability of her rejecting you is 100%.
I don't know why.
But that is what I have noticed myself.

Guys at times underrate their selves a lot. I used to underrate myself before.
But not anymore.

I think you're right boss. You're truly an expert with what I've red here wink
Now if you see the high class of girls I go for and how the girls even follow me easily, e go shock you.

My advice is try those girls you think are higher than you. More often than not, those are the real class you belong to.
Note: You must damn and overcome your anxiety of approaching those high class girls. Just damn it and do it.

Stop going for low lives. Their fear and inferiority complex won't allow them say yes.

I think you're right boss. You're truly an expert with what I've red here wink. The best thing for me is to try those high class girls. But why I don't like trying those high class girls is because I see them so much demanding than the low class ones if they eventually accept my proposal
