PoliticsSoutherners Not Applying For Police Jobs – Force PRO, Mba Decries by Kuginzi(op): 7:50pm On Jan 12, 2022
The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, has said the Nigeria Police extended the online registration in the ongoing 2021 police constable recruitment to Saturday, January 22, 2022, to allow Southerners apply.
In a statement on Wednesday, Mba said the extension became necessary “to ensure equal opportunity and even spread of applications, particularly from states in the South-East, South-South geopolitical zones and Lagos State.”
He said the extension would enable the southern states to meet up with the required quota for their respective states.

Giving a breakdown of the applications received so far, Mba said out of the 81,005 applications received nationwide as of January 7, 2022, only 1,404 applications (less than 2% of the total applications) were received from the five states in the South East.

MBA added that only 261 were from Lagos State, adding that Anambra has the least figure of just 158 applicants.

Consequently, the Force appealed to states, local governments, religious bodies and other interest groups in the South-South, South-East and Lagos State to mobilize and encourage their citizens and wards to seek a career path in the Nigeria Police Force.

“Interested applicants are urged to log on to the NPF recruitment portal to register before the expiration of the new deadline,” he said, adding that the recruitment exercise is absolutely free of charge.

PoliticsIPOB Does Not Speak For Igbos – Ohanaeze Replies Northern Groups by Kuginzi(op): 7:58am On Jan 08, 2022
IPOB does not speak for Igbos – Ohanaeze blasts Northern groups over inciting comments.
President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof George Obiozor has insisted that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, does not speak for the entire people of the Southeast.

Obiozor, however, said the group’s anger was based on perceived injustice against the Southeast.

The Ohanaeze President-General disclosed this on Friday while featuring on Arise Tv.

Just recently, the IPOB announced a ban on the consumption of cow meat in the South-East, a development that has attracted outrage from Northern leaders.

But according to Obiozor: “Take it from me and it is the right statement: IPOB doesn’t speak for Igbo and that is the truth.

To be very candid with you, the IPOB anger is an accumulated anger based on perceived or real injustice against Ndigbo for so long.

“We understand their anger and the anger of many youths across the country.

“However, the truth of the matter is that they are not mandated to speak for Ndigbo.”

He also berated Northern Groups for making inciting comments.

“The Northern groups that are making the statements are unfortunate because we don’t respond when their youths in their youthful exuberance make certain comments like they did before that all Igbo must leave the North,” he said.

IPOB, led by Nnamdi Kanu, has been clamouring for Biafra and speaking against the perceived marginalization of the Southeast by the government.

To this end, Kanu was arrested and charged for treason before an Abuja Federal High Court.

He is currently locked up by the Department of State Services, DSS.

Amid his incarceration, Southeast leaders have been agitating for his release.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to honour all requests to get Kanu released, stressing that he won’t interfere with the judicial process.

CrimeAPC Links Banditry In Zamfara To Retired General by Kuginzi(op): 9:37pm On Jan 04, 2022
Alleges he owns 70% of mining sites
By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has alleged that banditry in the state was perpetuated by activities going on in mining sites owned by a retired General.

The Publicity Secretary of APC in the state, Yusuf Idris, said this at a press briefing.

According to Idris, it has been globally discovered that the bandits terrorising the north western states, and Zamfara state in particular, share common interests with highly placed mining site owners and the miners.

“Such untouchables, as it is, include a retired General. He owns over 70 per cent of such sites,” he added.

He said the security agencies should investigate “why we never hear any fracas between these miners and the bandits even though both operate in the bushes of the state.

“I will also urge you gentlemen of the press to carry out an investigative report on this. The result and outcome will shock you to your bones.
“Similarly, as witnesses in the state, you will recall that when his excellency, Governor Matawalle was still in the PDP and facing serious security challenges, neither the PDP national leadership nor its governors shared the pains of Zamfara.

“This was until they were put to shame by the APC which came in full force to commiserate with the people and government of our dear state before the PDP sheepishly copied from such visit.

“Also, you remember the governor had challenged all good leaders of the state to come forward and swear that they have no hand in supporting armed banditry in the state.

“And for them to also join him to fashion out best ways of addressing the insecurity bedeviling the state.

“You can tell me if they came. The reason is not farfetched; just investigate you will see why.

“Don’t forget, it was this same Governor Matawalle whose effort single handedly led to the reopening of hitherto closed roads and markets linking and connecting communities within and outside the state which were shut due to armed bandits’ activities.

“Or is it that the PDP people don’t know all these?”

PoliticsOhaneze: Jonathan Must Support Igbo Presidency In 2023 by Kuginzi(op): 6:58am On Jan 04, 2022
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said that the Igbo spirit will be against former President Goodluck Jonathan if he fails to support the realisation of a president of Igbo extraction in 2023.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Publicity Secretary, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, in an interview with one of our correspondents in Enugu, said that the suffering Ndigbo were going through under the regime of President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) was because of the support Igbo gave Jonathan.

Ogbonnia was asked to comment on a report (not in The PUNCH) that Jonathan on December 27 met South-South leaders coordinating his alleged plan to contest the 2023 presidency.

According to the report, the meeting was held at Aridolf Hotels and Spars, Yenagoa.

There have been reports that some northern All Progressives Congress governors were plotting Jonathan’s return to Presidency to assuage the South and enable the North to return to power after four years.

Commenting on the development, Ohanaeze Ndigbo spokesman stated, “The Igbo position on Jonathan’s (alleged) presidential ambition in 2023 is that the Igbo spirit will be against him, the totality of Igbo spirit will be against him and he should realise it.

“Because he is expected to support the Igbo; a form of spiritual reciprocity, to reciprocate the Igbo kind gesture towards him.”
He disclosed that whatever Igbo suffered under the regime of President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) was because of Jonathan.

He added, “Whatever you see the Igbo suffered under President Buhari was as a result of the support we gave Jonathan. He should realise it. That is the Ohanaeze Ndigbo position and by extension Igbo position.”

Group says South-South has one tenure left, explains visit to Jonathan
A group, the South-South Presidency in 2023, faulted a report that Jonathan had accepted to contest the 2023 presidency.

The group, however, says it will ensure that any political party that presents a candidate from the zone as vice president will not get the support of the people there.

Chief Dikivie Ikiogha, who is the National Chairman of the group and political associate of Jonathan stated this in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents on Monday.

He debunked reports that Jonathan had accepted to run for the presidency next year.

He stated, “I have just seen a publication credited to the group, saying that the former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has accepted to run for the presidency. That is not correct. We will be happy. Anybody who wants to run for the presidency from South-South, we will be very happy about it.

Christianity EtcMbaka: They Planned To Use Prostitutes To Set Me Up Before Killing Me by Kuginzi(op): 12:56pm On Jan 03, 2022
Father Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu has disclosed how they plot to frame him using prostitutes after his rift with the Catholic Diocese of Enugu in May last year.

Mbaka claimed that the plot was to kidnap him and drag him through a spot where prostitutes reside in Enugu, after which he would be recorded naked.

He explained that they planned to carryout the plot after he left a meeting with Catholic Bishop of the Enugu Diocese, Callistus Onaga.

Giving his new year message on New Year Day, Mbaka recounted how Onaga directed him to shut down his Adoration ministry in Enugu for one-month and embark on a retreat.

He said the Bishop cautioned him against meddling in politics.

He said he obeyed the Bishop’s order, but that the Holy Spirit ministered to him that he should not park “anywhere”.

According to Mbaka: “I didn’t know I was being tracked that night. Before the next day you people started searching for me.

“Their plan was to capture me that night and drag me to Cubana (Hotel) and take me to Mobil where prostitutes stay and then take me around (there) and then, show video of me in the place (Brothel) so that people would ask what Mbaka was searching for in brothel.

“Then, they will again, drag me to Igboeze, another spot for Prostitutes. That’s where they planned to naked themselves, not me. So, then people would begin to ask what embarassed I am doing naked in prostitutes’ spot. Then, they will take me to Abuja and the story will be much, they will kill themselves, not me.”

PoliticsYoruba Group Attacks Sunday Igboho’s Lawyer, Pelumi For ‘lobbying Buhari by Kuginzi(op): 2:30pm On Jan 02, 2022
Yoruba group, Ilana Omo Oodua has lambasted the lawyer to Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Igboho over his letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement on Sunday by Maxwell Adeleye said Olajengbesi does not speak for Igboho nor is involved in the Yoruba Nation self-determination struggle.

The spokesman said the work he was “hired and paid for” ended with his defence of Igboho’s aides and relations arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on July 1, 2021, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“Anything Olajengbesi says afterwards should be considered as his personal opinion and not that of Ighoho. As our Lawyer, he is supposed to speak to the public on our instruction”, he noted.

Adeleye put on record that the legal practitioner made it clear in an interview that he is not interested in Yoruba Nation agitation because he believes in one Nigeria.

He said Olajengbesi affirmed that his only interest was to defend oppressed people humiliated by the Nigerian government “which he has meritoriously executed for us”.

“We are surprised that Olajengbesi wrote a new year message to President Muhammad Buhari on behalf of Ighoho, lobbied the Nigerian Government indirectly, while he attempted to paint the image of a surrendered Igboho.

We want to state very expressly that the so-called new year message is a personal opinion of Pelumi Olajengbesi and not the position of Chief Ighoho”, the statement added.

2023 presidency: Popular Prophet releases names of APC, PDP candidates
BY HASSAN MUAZ
JANUARY 1, 2022

Prophet Joshua Arogun, known for accuracy in prophecies and predictions, has predicted that the Chief Whip of the Senate and eminent businessman, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, will emerge candidates of the All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party respectively for the 2023 presidential election.
The prophet and General Overseer of Light of the World International Church, Lagos revealed this early on Saturday.

Arogun made the prediction during the cross over prayer night for 2022.

He said Nigeria, despite the challenges ahead, will move forward with a man of peace who has what it takes to reunite the country and provide a peaceful atmosphere for all men and businesses in 2023.

He explained that God brings a leader the nation needs at every point in time notwithstanding the disagreement from a few.

He added that Muhammadu Buhari became president in 2015 because it was he that Nigeria needed at the time.

He also said the political tension brewing will reduce drastically after the presidential primaries of the two major political parties in the country.

Arogun told the congregation in the early hours of Saturday: “As we are gearing towards change of government, we should expect more tension.

“But this tension will reduce after two parties pick their candidates.

“The Lord did not abandon this nation and there will be a strong statement from Heaven to prove it.

“God in his wisdom will reunite this nation through a Southerner who has what it takes to reunite the country and provide a peaceful atmosphere for all men and businesses.

“Some people complain about Buhari’s presidency because they are spiritually blind to see what would have happened if Buhari was not the president.

“Buhari became president at a time the nation needed him and God approved it.

“I have seen Orji Uzor Kalu of the South East and Nyesom Wike of the South South in the final election.

“How it would happen is what I don’t know but these two will be the presidential candidates of the APC and PDP.

“Our duty is to pray for the anointed not to turn his back on God when he becomes the President.

“2022 is coming with a lot of challenges but we will continue to pray for you.

“A lot has been revealed to me and I want you to be strong and never entertain fear.

“God would always provide for His people.”

Prophet Arogun came to limelight when in a new year message in 2014, he narrated how President Goodluck Jonathan will lose the 2015 presidential election to Muhammadu Buhari.

He said that Buhari’s victory would be welcomed by Nigerians and the international community because God has anointed Buhari to lead Nigeria

On March 1, 2020, Prophet Arogun also released a prophecy about the 2023 Ppesidency and President Buhari’s successor.

Speaking during a new month ministration service, he said Buhari’s successor is a former Governor from the South East who was in prison.

He said God put him in prison to preserve his life, adding that he would be released after six months.

His words: “I am a prophet of God and by the grace of God, anything the Lord tells us comes to pass because we hear from Him.

“We don’t hear from men.

“We don’t rely on public opinion for prophesies.

“We are not afraid of what people will say when such prophesies are given to us to tell the people.

“When we hear from the Lord, we tell people no matter how it is interpreted.

“It is left for people to take it.

“Before the 2015 election, God told me that Buhari would win.

“And God told me a lot of things about Buhari.

“It is He that anointed him to be the president and there is no question about that.

“No one can change it.

“The people can hate him, the people can reject him, but God has ordained him and there is something about God: When He says that you would be this, no man can change it.

“He does what pleases Him.

“I got a revelation about Nigeria’s political dynamics in the next general election.

“I saw a man in prison and this man has been a former Governor from the South East taking over from President Buhari.

“There is absolutely nothing one can do about someone’s destiny, especially when sanctioned by God.

“Everything that happens in life is for a reason.

“I saw renewed alliances among the political class and across the political parties and I saw this country reuniting more than it has ever done before.

“God loves Nigeria so much.

“Nigeria is a big country and is blessed with human and natural resources.”

Speaks of looming ‘first-class crisis
• Descends on Bisi Akande: You are a serial liar

• ‘Contrary to claim in Akande’s book, Ajasin, Danjuma, Lar invited me into the presidential race, not IBB’

Chief Olu Falae was Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, before serving as Finance Minister under the military regime.

Later he joined the presidential race first under the Babangida regime transition and later under the Abdulsalami Abubakar programme to return Nigeria to civil rule. In this interview, Falae reacts to some claims made by a former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, in his recently launched autobiography titled, ‘My Participations’. He also speaks on issues in the polity including insecurity and the downturn in the economy. Excerpts:

Let us start with your assessment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s seven years in the saddle and your expectations for 2022?

All Nigerians know all that it has been living under the Buhari’s regime. I don’t need to tell you. It has been a very difficult time. Security has never been as bad as this in our entire history.

Nigerians have never been this divided. In fact, we should look for another term to describe the near-war situation we are going through. When people were voting for him, the expectation from him as a General was that of an uncompromising man of discipline, that, within months, he will finish off Boko Haram and we will all live in peace but the opposite has been the case.

And everything else depends on security. You have to be alive and well to know that there is something called education; that before you can even eat and wear clothes, you have to be alive and well, and that depends on security.

Security has been in complete shambles. If a saint becomes President tomorrow, how and where is he going to start from? Is it with Boko Haram, with bandits or herdsmen? Where is he going to start from? I saw on social media that before Fulani herdsmen left Ekiti area, some boys had understudied them and they have now become graduate kidnappers. So, this is the legacy of this administration.

It has been a complete crisis. People of my age and status cannot live in their homes in any part of the North. Most of them now are hiding in Abuja, including traditional rulers. It is terrible. I know Buhari would want it to be otherwise but it is not otherwise, it is the way it is. I want to take this opportunity to thank our own governor in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, in the area of security, he has been fantastic; he is a true son of the land. Soon after he became governor, we had a meeting and we discussed the issue of security. I used my kidnap to illustrate the very serious situation. I didn’t know it was going to get much worse.

I pleaded with him to talk to his colleagues in the South-West to do something about the security situation, that security is fundamental to any other thing. I’m not claiming that it is because of that advice that he did what he did. But it is a historical fact that we had that meeting and I made that plea. It is also a historical fact that he played a leading role in the creation of Amotekun. There was a time some of the governors appeared to be wavering and hesitant but Akeredolu was firm all the way.

And because of my appreciation of what he was doing, when the House of Assembly was having a hearing on the Amotekun law, I went there to give them political and moral support and to strengthen their backbone by saying to them that they do not need to go to Abuja to seek permission before they could give Amotekun police powers because it is inherent in anything called government elected by the people, whether at the local level, state-level or national level or regional level; any organisation elected by the people and called government has an inherent power invested by the votes of the people to make laws that will be valid and to implement them.

In the colonial period and the post-independence period, the regional government has forestry laws that enabled forestry officers to arrest anybody felling logs illegally and also enable them to prosecute those people either directly by themselves or by sending them to the Ministry of Justice.

In other words, in that law was evidence that the regional government, the state government has always had the power of arrest through the forestry officers and prosecution through the state Ministry of Justice. So, it is the same state government. Whether you want to use that power now for Amotekun, just create it and pass it. It is already being used from the colonial period. I told them this and I believed that helped to clarify the situation.

Trainees

Akeredolu was also the first to commission the first batch of Amotekun trainees. Again, to show my support for his effort I was present at the passing out parade. And then again, when they were going to pass the Anti-Open Grazing Law, they sent the draft to me, they passed it. Although Miyetti Allah and herdsmen boasted that they will not obey the law, that they are Nigerians and Ondo State is part of Nigeria, that they have every right to do what they like. Since the law was passed, I have not seen a single cattle or Fulani from here to my farm.

They have disappeared. Let them come back and break the law and enforcement agents will arrest them, take them to court and send them to prison. So, I think Governor Akeredolu has done very good work. And the security he is enforcing in the state capital right now encourages people to relax during this New Year period.

Political gladiators are rolling up their sleeves ahead of the 2023 general elections. What’s your advice to these players?

My advice is that no election should be conducted until and unless some fundamental amendments are made. I’m not saying that they should do the full restructuring that I have been advocating but a few fundamental amendments, particularly in the area of security and how elections are conducted and result transmitted.

My take is that whatever election is conducted, the way things are if they are allowed to continue till 2023, cannot be credible, may not even be possible physically. You remember when they were going to conduct the Anambra governorship election, how many troops and policemen were posted there? Can you send that level of policemen and soldiers to all the 36 states, voting on the same date? The answer is no.

Military situation
In any case, an election is held under such a military situation, is that credible? Is that free? Is that democratic? In my view, no credible election or transparent election can be held the way things are in Nigeria as of today. If you go to Zamfara, people are being kidnapped every day. 120 people were slaughtered in Sokoto State.

People coming from Abuja to Kaduna are not safe. Someone told me that no credible election can be conducted in at least 23 states as of today. If the present trend continues, it may be in 30 states. I’m hoping that elections will be peaceful in the South-West which has always been the most peaceful part of Nigeria.

All types of historic, cultural and spiritual reasons are for that, but that is the fact. If there is a problem in the North, they come here, problem in the East, they come here. So, if elections are not possible in 30 states out of 36, what are they gladiators after?

With about 17 months to the exit of the Buhari administration, do you think the President is capable of changing the fortune of the country?

With God, all things are possible. If God decides to take over President Buhari and his administration and use him and others to revive and revamp Nigeria, God can still do so. Nothing is impossible.

Are you then saying that Nigerians shouldn’t be concerned about power shift come 2023?

We should be concerned about where power should go as an objective person, whether it should be through the election in an unstructured Nigeria. But that is my own perception. It may well happen; God is in charge of the whole universe. I believe that all the changes and restructuring people have been advocating these many years, I have always believed that it will not happen until and unless and except there is a crisis when the question will be where do we go from here? A crisis can come in the next 12 to 15 months if two things happen.

One of them is sure to happen; the second one is what we don’t know. But if the second one happens, then we will have a crisis that will force us to rethink Nigeria. What are the two things? First, if and when the tenure of the current President comes to an end, we know that it will come to an end, we know the date. It is not a prayer or wish. May 29, 2023, that, by God’s grace, will happen. That is the first condition.

The second condition is that if the first situation does not permit the election of a replacement President, then the old President is gone, a new one cannot be elected, a first-class crisis, solution to the Nigerian problem. At that point, every section of Nigeria will be free to say there is no more Federal Government. That is my view. What is the probability of that happening? One of the two conditions will happen.

I have not heard that Buhari wants a third term. I hope there is no attempt to impose a third term on us. So, the first condition will happen, it is more likely to happen. The second one is not unlikely, it will happen. Then if the two happen together, that is when restructuring is automatic. If there is no government in Abuja and there is a government in Ondo State, Kano State and other states, that is the government.

Let’s talk about the many agitations across the country especially in the South-West and South-East. Do they portend danger for the 2023 general elections?

Self-determination is a movement that force cannot stop. In my book, I addressed it and I gave copies to the Federal Government but they won’t read it. I said in that book that since the collapse of international communism, the collapse of the Berlin wall and the disintegration of the Soviet Union, a new thing has become a dominant force in international relations and that is ethnic self-determination.

Exemplify for example in Europe by the Bosnia/Herzegovina war in the very heart of Europe. That area of Europe is called the Balkans. That was the centre point of the Roman Empire. But in the course of history, they broke into smaller pieces.

The 19th century was the period that brought smaller entities to create larger entities in Europe because of the competition for colonialism and access to raw materials in the colonies. That was how Germany evolved under Bismarck. It was Bismarck and others who brought various German principalities together in Germany. It was the age of aggregation.

Smaller entities were coming together to be able to compete for colonies and raw materials because the industrial revolution was taking place in Europe. But since then, with the collapse of communism, those smaller entities have been agitating for self-identity especially in the Balkans.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says God has not told him who will become Nigeria’s President in 2023.

The respected cleric said this on Saturday during the 2022 Crossover Service of the church held at the RCCG International Headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye, while announcing his prophecies for the Year 2022, said many people had been asking him who would succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in May 2023.

He, however, said God had not revealed Nigeria’s next President to him, adding that prophecy is no guesswork.
With about a year to the next general elections in Nigeria, the political climate is becoming charged as political gladiators have started permutations on who to put forward as the presidential flagbearers of the two main parties – the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.

Serial defections have also occurred in the last few months as part of posturing for who will occupy the much-coveted seat in Aso Rock just as the debate for zoning between the Southern and Northern regions has also dominated public discourse.

The 17 southern governors at various times had unanimously demanded that the next President must come from the region after the eight-year tenure of Buhari who is from Katsina State in North-West Nigeria.

APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu; Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, amongst others have been rumoured to be interested in the 2023 Presidency but none of them has declared intention to run even as primary elections are expected to hold in political parties this year, ahead of the 2023 polls.

Speaking on Saturday, Adeboye said, “I just want to give you a hint of what Daddy (God) says is in store for the New Year. There are all manners of prophets out there. So, you will be hearing all manners of prophecies in the coming days. I am talking to you my children, not criticising anybody. I have my duty to make sure I teach my own children.

“When God speaks, He speaks specifically. There is no may be or perhaps; He speaks. So, if you hear somebody prophesy, ‘It is likely one of the following people will succeed’, that’s not a prophecy; that’s personal opinion. When God speaks, He will say, ‘This fellow will succeed, that fellow is not going to make it’. That is the way God speaks; He doesn’t say, ‘It is likely’.”

The 79-year-old cleric took a trip down memory lane and narrated how he was asked who would become Nigeria’s President in 1993. Adeboye said as the then President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, he was approached by his fellow pastors to know who would become Nigeria’s President between MKO Abiola of the Social Democratic Party and Bashir Tofa of the National Republican Convention during the planned transition to civilian rule by the military.

The cleric said, “When God speaks, some of the things He says may baffle your brain a little. Let me give you an example. I have always told you I am not a prophet; I am only a pastor but I hear from God once in a while.

“Years ago, there were three people contesting to be President of Nigeria— (MKO) Abiola, Aminu Kano and (Bashir) Tofa. At that time, I was President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and so the other Pentecostal people asked me, ‘Sir, what do we do? Who do we vote for? There are three of them – all Muslims. Who is going to win sir?’ I said, ‘None’. They said, ‘How can that be? If you toss a coin, when it lands, it is either head or tail’. I said, ‘None’.

“They said, ‘Why?’ I said because God told me. He spoke in parables. He said the winner will be the loser, the loser will be the winner and luckiest of them is Aminu Kanu. Aminu Kanu died before the election. Abiola won but he never got to the throne and the fellow who lost at least didn’t have the embarrassment of winning and not reigning. The winner is the loser and the loser is the winner, the luckiest of them was the one who died. When it played out, my colleagues came to me and said, ‘Well, it seems as if you really heard.’”
Though the National Electoral Commission did not declare the winner of the 1993 election but unofficial results indicated that MKO won. The then military leader, Ibrahim Babangida, however, annulled the election citing electoral irregularities.

Continuing, Adeboye said, “For example, if somebody asks me today like many people are already doing, ‘Daddy, who is going to be our next President?’ The answer is: I don’t know. ‘How can you say you don’t know? You’re Daddy’s (God’s) son.’ He hasn’t told me yet. You don’t do guesswork with prophecy.”

The cleric, who grouped his prophecies for Year 2022 into three categories— personal, Nigeria and intercontinental— said God told him specifically that in 2022, “More than 80 per cent of projects starting in 2022 will succeed.

“This year will be a year of the emergence of previously unknown stars.

PoliticsWike Visits Sultan In Sokoto, Deplores Bandits' Attacks by Kuginzi(op): 9:18pm On Jan 01, 2022
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has commiserated with the government and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, over the unwarranted killing of innocent citizens by bandits in the state.

Wike spoke when he and the Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, paid a courtesy call on the Sultan in his palace in Sokoto over the weekend.

The Rivers State governor expressed dismay over the wanton killing of innocent citizens by bandits in Sokoto and other parts of the country.

“We have had a long standing relationship and so the people of Rivers State have told me to commiserate with you and people of Sokoto State. I’m sorry for what happened and we believe God will give the families that have lost their loved ones the courage, give them the strength to bear this unnecessary lost of lives.”

The governor, who was accompanied by a delegation of Rivers’ elders, also thanked the Sultan for the role he has been playing to ensure the stability of the country

“You’ve been trying to stabilise all the religious groups, all the ethnic groups, to understand we have no other country than our country call Nigeria. You have always spoken out irrespective of whether he touches on Moslems, whether it touches on Christians, on whether it touches on those who don’t have religion.

“You’ve always spoken out and you have admonished government where necessary in terms of insecurity, in terms of other crisis, in terms of poverty. You have always spoken out and to advise government on the best way to try and see that things get better for the citizens of the country.”

The governor said it takes somebody who has passion and undying love for the country to play the kind of role the Sultan has been playing to ensure stability and unity of the nation

“This character in you is rare. If all leaders can exhibit this kind of trait, then we will have future, then we can know that this our country is going somewhere. You’re exhibiting the character that is expected of leadership.

You have had sleepless nights talking to Christians, talking to Moslems , talking to the North, talking to the South, talking to everybody to see ourselves as one Nigeria.”

CrimeSuspect In Police Custody Links Okorocha, Nwosu To Militants by Kuginzi(op): 3:31pm On Dec 28, 2021
Suspect In Police Custody Links Ex-Governor Okorocha, Son-in-law, Nwosu To Militants Troubling Imo State

He added that the duo sealed the deal with Okorocha and his son in-law and had been unleashing mayhem on the people of Imo State since then.

A suspect identified as Chibuzo Uchenna arrested by the police in Imo State has named former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, as sponsors of insecurity in Imo State.
In an exclusive video obtained by SaharaReporters, the suspect also named one Kingsley Uju in the recruitment of ex-militants for “shady business.”

According to Uchenna, Okorocha, Nwosu and Uju approached one General Banga and General Felix, both ex-militants, for recruitment and the amnesty programme the former governor offered the ex-agitators.

He added that the duo sealed the deal with Okorocha and his son in-law and had been unleashing mayhem on the people of Imo State since then.

In the video obtained by SaharaReporters, the suspect said, “Yes, General Felix after the amnesty, they called them together; the governor, Rochas Okorocha, Honorable Kingsley Uju and Honorable Uche Nwosu called them together to work for them so that they would no longer be having issues. That’s how Felix and Chike came together to work for them.”

Speaking to SaharaReporters, a senior police officer in the state said contrary to Nwosu’s claim, he was invited by the police before he was arrested.

"Consequent upon this expository, the police authorities on several occasions invited Uche Nwosu for questioning, a gesture he neglected; hence the manner in which the operatives effected his arrest on Sunday, for investigation.

“Apart from what you watched in that video, there are other various implicating statements from the suspect; he also revealed the frequent funding of criminals and their activities by the former governor through his son in-law, Nwosu, at various locations in Owerri,” the police officer said.

Nwosu, a former candidate of the Action Alliance in the 2019 governorship election in Imo, was arrested by masked police officers inside a church on Sunday during a thanksgiving service in the state.

The heavily-armed security operatives stormed the church with high-powered security vehicles and shot sporadically into the air before arresting him.

The action created panic in the community as it was the outing service of his late mother who was laid to rest on Wednesday 22nd December 2021.

While police authorities did not immediately confirm the incident, they released a statement later to clarify that Nwosu was arrested and not abducted as feared in some quarters.

He was subsequently released after spending some hours at the state police headquarters where he was grilled by intelligence officers.

When contacted, Chikezie Nwadike, media aide to Nwosu told SaharaReporters that his principal had nothing to do with the suspect.

He said, “We have also seen the video, look at the guy, this was someone they claimed was arrested two weeks ago, yet he is still looking fresh, polish, well dressed. You see that’s it’s just staged managed.

“It’s so funny, the police claimed they are still conducting their investigation yet still released the video or who sent you the video? Is it not the police? All these tactics are just to malign Okorocha and Nwosu.”
