^^^^ all these ur "more comments" na wa lol if u are buying a car, I think Ikenna has said it all. but if u want specifics, I can also hit d nail I see u mentioned the most popular cars around, however, I can tell u that not all those brands are necessarily cheap to maintain , I would advise you to bear in mind some parts the are prone to easy damage especially if u are driving in a place as lagos- head lights, Pointers, rear lights, side mirrors, bumpers, shocks, ball joint, tie rods, fuel/oil/air filters etc, however, most popular cars around, those parts are not cheap, so trail ur considerations along that line as well I have not used all the cars, however u can consider these two Volkswagen Vento BMW 1989-1997 these two cars, all the parts are cheap, I mean real cheap... better still if u like, state your choice of cars, then let me match parts for parts, the cost.. |
Siena: There's no set time period. Some cars have exhibited bubbling / rust from as early as 3-years-old.I go send you pics of my C class, after 3yrs... lol I have done nothing as in body work... I am sure it would give me another 3yrs more...lol |
Both are lovely ride, sportier performance machines, but benz c class combines it all , luxury, performance, handling and personalty unlike BM 3 series , which is just about performance with very little of the rest of the factors if not embarrassing electronics/electricals BMW is just about speed, speed, speed, while benz is about comfort. I drove a friends BMW and all i could think was speed, built for speed, while driving Benz i would always feel that comforting performances and satisfaction
xerotop: When u drive a BMW, it feels like u r driving on a rail. Stable, balance , sporty, comfortable, sweet, interesting, abeg make una borrow me more English to use.reading both from two different persons is evidently the reasons both make of cars still sell till date, they tend to capture the minds of people in a different and spectacular way... both are nice rides, may God bless us with enough pay, when u get money why would u use a car for more than 5yrs, get a new one and 4get rust etc.... ![]() |
Siena: The Mercedes-Benz C and E class are rot boxes. Mercedes-Benz is still fighting rust issues under warranty claims. You wouldn't expect a 2005 MB E320 to have rust, but that's exactly what's happening. Areas affected are:Bros, based on statistics, how long does it take such make of Benz u refereed to start yielding to rust? |
Trac: The average running temperature should be 87degF and it isn't unusual to get up to 115degF. This mode of operation should not be without coolant installed. Running your vehicle at the aforementioned heat ranges stated will warp your heads.Hello Trac... I am sure you meant between 87degC and 115DegC ( as in centigrade celsius) Again, where can one get this techron in this country sef? I have heard lots of goodies about that Techron. Just to add from my experience and what I had read on Benz forums, the W202 fuel tank does NOT need excessive filling with fuel, its best to always stop at the first click of the nozzle, I noticed improper readings when I was filling always to the brim (using my camry experience) I didnt knw this was harmful to the gauge... but since I had stopped, its readings have somewhat return to normal, but not as always accurate and reliable as designed ... I have also noticed the same scenario with the BMW 3 series, so I had resulted to stopping refill at the first nozzle click!! |
I wonder why such an interesting topic would be so cold... is it that there are very few owners of Benz or BMW on nairaland? in my opinion, I have used both... and I think both rides are fantastic, however, I think I would take the 2000 model C-class in lieu of 2000 model 3series , both 6-cylinder engine. driving the benz kinda gives more confidence on the road, I somewhat feel I could drive thru anywhere.. once again both are kool! |
Seun: The pipe that transports washing liquid from the tank to the windshield wipers on my SUV gets disconnected whenever I switch on the wipers. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it without going to a mechanic?Likely to be blockage in the flow line . you can check yourself, at every point there is a disconnection point, in your case, its obvious the blockage is from where the pipe pulls off and the point where the fluid comes out to the wind shield. |
There are lots of dependencies to making an instantaneous decision in such circumstance.. defining "A POT HOLE" in the real context, the hole shouldn't be more than the size of an average pot... but you would agree in naija there are "drum holes", or even "well holes" on the highway. I think it depends on the size actually ... there are some u can drive past even by pushing it well over 100km/h on siting. (a good driver must be able to make that decision while @ same time gazing behind for any object- (car, truck , powerbike etc) A good driver cant do bumper to bumper kinda driving when moving @ 100km/h or more, especially on highways. A good driver does maintain the "2-second rule" while driving I have tried to slow down at a bad "well hole" b4 when all of a sudden I sighted behind a truck struggling to control his pace just behind me... and guess what?... I need not be told what to do @ that point..... the car has to engage in emergency mode @ that instant and zoomed off thru the bad "well hole" ![]() On the highway, a pothole that appears not to be too deep, sighting from afar, I often speed past such, it pays off in the long run, even if your car is damaged it would take you off that scene at least ..... instead of allowing perhaps a larger vehicle to hit you with more force behind.. In all these things... be xtra vigilant and put everything for baba God hand... ![]() |

webhostbiz: I am about to buy this car C180 Sport 1998 model, i need an advise. ThanksIts a nice ride, excellent Balance while driving... hoping to get one like that someday.. |
viperman: It actually all depends on your need for a car at that juncture:Viper this should pass for a new thread... think about how to expand it further by including more comparisons.. well done |
Better in terms of what? what year are you referring to? since u r comparing with highlander, then it must be CRV of from 2002 as well... some people (especially ladies) would say the CRV is finer in shape. in my view, I think the CRV is no match for the highlander at all.... the highlander often comes in 6-cylinder engines with rare 4-cylinder, unlike the CRV thats often/always 4 cylinder engines. if u dash me CRV of same yr, I would sell and add money to get a highlander. ![]() |
pafestula: Many negatives stuff we re hearing about the Jetta, Golf 4 and Boras.. Even passat fsi..May those Negative stuff continue to linger O!!!! indeed it drives down the prices while some of us keep on enjoying them lol |
the best car wash is ur your house... DIY.... once a while... it gives you the opportunity to check so many things around the car, tyre valves, rear lightnings, dents etc most importantly too, ur waist needs it.. lol |

Faru: @ Trac/Seina/KuntashFirstly, let me state that I sold my camry just over a yr ago when I embraced the Benz tech and drive feel, all of a sudden, you feel as if u are driving smthn quite reliable... that particular model of c-class- 98-2000 models are superb, especially the C280(V6)... even in terms of fuel efficiency, its great as well. I believe cars are used depending of your needs, I am also of the school of thought.. that believes in getting more in driving than just fuel consumption, and second hand resale value which many people often consider before choosing a car of choice Generally German cars hardly tolerate incompetent electricians, and mechanic, however, if u can maintain a car regularly they are reliable and it would serve you well, there is nothing wrong with the non-metal key starting ur friend is referring to... it all still boils down to your maintenance culture and competence in your engineers (rewire & mech). I wonder what ur friend would say about the thumb start keys in some rides. Suffice it to add too that the parts of that stated yr of c-class is by far cheaper than that of a camry... parts that are prone to being damaged by bad roads, Okada, danfo etc.... I am referring to shocks, rear lights, pointers, side mirrors etc.. all the best! |
sunnycoolmotors: Available 2,9m bestapprox. $18,000 Guy whats happening? |
chronique: Well,I've never seen it as a problem & those who have contacted me are fully aware it's a converted car. I have a stable auto mechanic who's been converting UK cars for me for over 10yrs & our clients haven't had issues with them. Anyone buying a car from d UK already knows it's rhd. Moreover, not all my cars are converted. It's only this one that's converted.Advertise it as it is, even if it was converted in Japan or America by a Toyota guru, state it as such in the advert or introduction. it makes many people to be aware, and I am sure it wont take off your profit... happy sales |

http://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/wine-compound-may-halt-bowel-cancer-001256946.html .. Wine compound may halt bowel cancer Press Association – 11 hours ago... . One large glass of wine a day could contain enough of a tumour-fighting compound to prevent bowel cancer, research has suggested. The plant chemical, resveratrol, is found in the skins of grapes and concentrated in red wine. Scientists have long known that resveratrol has anti-cancer properties, as well as effects that might benefit diabetes and heart disease patients. But a question mark remains over what dose of the compound it is best to take. The new research suggests that for fighting bowel cancer it is very small - around five milligrams per day. That is about the amount of resveratrol typically found in one large glass of red wine, or two small glasses. Scientists conducted tests on laboratory mice which showed that a dose of resveratrol in their food equivalent to five milligrams in humans halved the growth of bowel tumours. The low dose proved more potent than a much higher one of one gram. Lead researcher Professor Karen Brown, from the University of Leicester, said: "Everybody thinks that more is better but we found that the low dose was more effective than the high one. We were amazed that it had any effect at all, and even more surprised by the effectiveness of the low dose." Prof Brown will present her findings at Resveratrol 2012, a conference dedicated to resveratrol research which is starting at the university. Previous studies have shown that even tiny amounts of the compound can reach target tissues in humans. However, cancer trials involving resveratrol supplements have proved disappointing. There is some evidence that very high doses of resveratrol may interfere with certain medicines. "We're still trying to understand the mechanism behind the way resveratrol works and see if it translates to human tissues and cells," said Prof Brown, whose team hopes to conduct a trial in two years looking at the impact of carefully measured doses of resveratrol on patients at high risk of bowel cancer. "It's a fascinating compound because it does so much," Prof Brown added. "We're now at a really exciting stage of research on resveratrol, but we need to nail down what mechanisms are important at the right concentrations." |
why u dey fear to put price? put the price, who go buy will buy, FEARNOT! lol |
