Aside that, i blame it on some buyers {end users} who are after low mileage cars as if that determines the performance of the Car. Some buyers will be hell bent on getting low mileage Car for an unreasonable price which will force the agent or the middleman to roll back the odometer.
 

I see u to be a high rated car seller on this thread b4, why make such comments? have you dispalyed sincere options of various mileage on the cars with different prices and the buyer still insist on getting the low mileage at the cost of a relatively high mileage?

moreso you need not wonder or ask urself why the price variance @ source for high/low mileage vehicles as well as the yr of manufacture,

Do biz straight my friend,  if u are,  no matter what, people would patronize u even if na your own cost pass, others like me would see u as a sincere seller and tell more people about u,  rather than forcing the money from d customer @ all cost and later blame him or laugh @ him as u have just done.

You didnt state ur fuel consumption, from the book, they say it can give u a highway driving of 100km with about 9 litres of petrol, i.e when driving @ a steady speed of around 80km/h , I thinks thats on the assumption that its ur car is still sharp sharp, and u r running on the correct fuel & mixture

I bought my C200 just in same manner, and knew no jack about mercedes, but I am an auto freak and curious about anything automobile, I have learnt alot from this nairaland, hence I often carry out a DIY maintenance with the benz.

On ur question, I cant really say who is an expert in Benz around lagos, believing that's ur location: I am sure there should be many, but I have not been lucky rather to see one that I can leave my car with and have that confidence that the repair would be excellent.

So what I do, is to look out for similar issues online and read all possible solutions then go to the mechanic in Ladipo to fix it, with 70% idea of what is to be done, ; cos I just explain to them what is to be done, buy any part that needs to be bought right there,

From what I can deduce from ur case, I suspect your throttle body could be dirty, if you can get a spray cleaner, remove the air intake hose and clean everything inside, , If THAT DIDNT WORK, perhaps you have to turn ur attention to the wire harness, Also , the over-voltage regulator could cause this, but I would advice you follow the order of troubleshooting I have stated,

- Clean throttle body
- Confirm wiring harness
- Over voltage regulator, under the hood of the passenger's side,


pls lets have the feedback, the issue outlined here are 90% of the wahala with that car, and its simple to fix,

, seeing the structure only reminded me of my worry in d commercial house I stay as rgds the security guard , n perhaps suggestion on way to go about it and not to dictate to u oga, , I cant sack him alone,

Mr Alone, d security house would sure come out solid, and perhaps would be too comfortable after the finish,

but beware, some security personnel tends too lazy in a security house like that ,

where I currently stay has one like that, and I often find myself opening the gates on my own, . , the car horn doesnt wake him up anymore,

just to add to it, did any one here listened to CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido @ the silverbird award held in Eko Hotel? It was a master piece, in the presence of Aliko, Adenuga & co, it was a mind blower, initially they all clapped whenever he made any statement, but when he started hitting @ the real problems in naija and causes, the whole place was silent, (HOW MANY DECENT NIGERIANS MADE ALL THOSE MONEY GENUINELY? )  


bottom-line, this thread should be seen as a medium to preach good message that should affect lives positively, it should also reflect how a chunk of % of the population in naija can access building a six bedroom flat and relate it which whatever cost therein in their respective propose projects

Virtually every area, I bought mine here on nairaland, Naija used, and it had suspension problem, bad tires, faulty actuator, wrong electrical wiring etc then, , which was fixed (fixing is cheap, cos the parts are quite durable, toks)

Balancing surpasses most cars, I can assure u that,

Its quite reliable and gives you a sense of safety, actually its safer than most cars.

The Engine in my own opinion was mistakenly built that way, (I doubt if it dies, have u seen a smoking c-class?, I doubt or perhaps extremely rare), out of curiosity I swapped my engine cos of a history of overheating and faulty throttle head actuator, , nothing really happened to the old one,

Fuel economy is superb, same as camry of same year if not better,

In all, just do the right thing for the car and see how it performs and makes u happy, all the time,

CONS:, Most materials used for the interior seem to expire, cos I notice some of the plastic parts broke away easily, around the dashboard and the rear speaker woofer, the board there does expire, dont know if its only mine,


Bottom-line, I am certain , I would get another C class of same yr, but a 6-cylinder,

@ Oblo, I agree with you on the mindset that we in this part of the world follow the "dem say dem say " syndrome before buying a car, then afterwards whether the car gulps fuel like a drunk, they dont bother afterwards,  e.g, Toyota, and Honda are good cars , they dont consume fuel, yes o, Oya, pay for that toyota/honda,  carry go!

Another issue that need mention here is the quality of fuel we get here, I am certain fuel sold in UK or US differs, that does affect both performance and efficiency,  I hope we havent forgotten when Oando imported Ethanol last time,

however, after some fine tuning ( getting the right temp, cleaning throttle body etc) I have been able to achieve the following in my Janopee,
