PoliticsFayemi Reacts To Vote Of No Confidence By Reps Channels Television by kurt09(op): 9:05pm On Mar 01, 2018
The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has reacted to the vote of no confidence passed on him by members of the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers had taken the decision earlier on Thursday, after Dr Fayemi and the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Abubakar Bwari, were absent at a debate on steel development in Nigeria.

In a statement by Fayemi’s aide Olayinka Oyebode, the ministry condemned the action of the lawmakers as “unwarranted and unfortunate.”

It, however, explained the rationale behind the failure of both ministers to attend the meeting, saying it had been duly communicated to the leadership of the House in two separate letters.

“It is rather unfair for the House members to categorise the ministers’ absence as ‘boycott’, when they were adequately notified. Tolerance and moderation are essential ingredients in public service engagement.

“In this particular case, they appear to be in short supply and the ministry believes that there is more than meets the eye on this matter. After all, the Ministers are always willing to engage the Honourable House and its leadership at all times,” the statement read.

The ministry noted further that Fayemi was the first minister to address the sectoral debate in 2016 and the Ajaokuta Steel Complex was extensively addressed on that occasion.

It added the House Committees on Privatisation and Public Petitions subsequently held special sessions on Ajaokuta in which Bwari addressed the members on those two occasions.

Bedlecturer:
Those of us that studied comparative politics, certainly know that the same symptoms of crises that teared the PDP apart, has manifested in APC.
In the first instance, the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu reconciliation committee is uncalled for, since Bola Tinubu is said to be aggrieved with the leadership of the APC and a number of state governors.
That means he needs someone to reconcile him with the others.
I do not think that his committee will make any headway considering the time frame and other factors.
Only the President or Vice President, have the capacity to spearhead a genuine reconciliation ahead of the general elections in 2019. Anything short of that is a recipe for disaster and will definitely affect the fortunes of the party.
In politics, you shouldn't under estimate your opponent's ability to spring a surprise.
Bedlecturer indeed. Jobless Ness is bad.
PoliticsRe: Reasons Why You Should Support Pres. Buhari For Not Assenting To PeaceCorps Bill by kurt09(m): 1:55pm On Mar 01, 2018
khalidx:
The latest news in town now is president buhari denying his assent to the Peace Corps bill, it was greeted with mixed reaction from the general public.

but One thing I have noticed is that those who accepted that i was in the best interest of the country are more than the opposing side...

Let me sight this few reasons why they aren't in our interest..

1) Nigeria spend over 70% of its budget on recurrent expenditure leaving less than 30% for capital project, if we continue like this do you think if we continue like this we will have the Nigeria of our dreams?? Payment of salaries have always been a burden to the Fg adding another burden to it under the guise of employment is not right it will only be a bulwark to Nigeria's development. Why can't we utilize our meager resources to better things instead of creating another agency with no specific work.

2) Too many para military

Nigeria has more than 3 para military already all bearing arms, and doing there jobs effectively coupled with there problems. Approving the Peace Corps will just be another way for the corrupt Oga's at the top of siphoning our money.

3) overzealous and corruption we all know how our police, Army and other Armed Forces misuse power in the past and even presently, an NGO who is just starting it course is already hood winking gullible Nigerians, collecting money from volunteers.
What will be our faith. In the street you will see a Peace Corps volunteer asking you do you know me?? All those doesn't make sense.. instead of another para-millitary why can't we channel the resources to our police who is over stressed and better equip them with modern wares..
God bless you. lalasticlala

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has weighed in on President Muhammadu's recent rejection of the Peace Corps bill.

President Buhari on Tuesday rejected the Peace Corps bill citing security challenges and lack of funds. Reacting to the development, Omokri, took to his Twitter page to question the president's reason of mentioning funds as a hindrance to the passage of the bill.

He wrote;

"The same President Buhari that wants Nigeria to use public funds to build cattle colonies for his Fulani kinsmen is the same President Buhari who rejected the Peace Corp Bill because he says there's no money. There‘s money for cattle colony, but no money for peace. Well done sir!".

PoliticsRe: Jonathan To Release Chibok Girls For ‘maximum Political Advantage’ – APC by kurt09(m): 8:19pm On Feb 27, 2018
gratiaeo:
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to release the school girls who were abducted in Chibok over six months ago, if indeed he knows where they are, rather than seeking to make political gains out of their release.
“Mr. President, tongues are wagging that you know where the girls are and that you want them to be released only when it will give you the maximum political advantage. We don’t know if this is true or not, but if it is, please release the girls now,” the party said in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed.
“It is cruel and unconscionable for anyone to use these girls as pawns on a political chess board. They have now been in captivity for over six full months. Please end the agony of the girls’ parents and indeed of all Nigerians,” it said.
APC said the body language of President Jonathan, since the unfortunate abduction of the girls, points to the fact that he knows more than he is willing to admit on the unfortunate issue, and that he has exhibited an unprecedented nonchalance over the plight of the girls.
“First, the President waited for all of 19 days before even admitting that the girls have been abducted, losing a critical window of opportunity to rescue them from their abductors. When eventually he was forced by global pressure to admit that the abduction is real, Mr. President and his wife chose to subject the girls’ parents and others to untold verbal assault and mental torture.
“A little over a month after the girls were abducted, the Chief of Defence Staff said the security leadership in the country had located where Boko Haram is holding the abducted girls. Since then, Nigerians have been waiting for the girls to be rescued, to no avail. No one has told Nigerians the problems that are mitigating against the release of the girls, be it logistic or otherwise.
“More recently, on Sept. 23rd, the military tweeted the imminent release of the girls, only to retract the statement shortly thereafter. However, in the intervening period, thousands of ‘supporters’ of the President had gathered at the Pierre Hotel in New York to welcome the President (who was then in New York for the UN General Assembly session) after the release of the girls, while media interviews had been booked for him. No one has told Nigerians why that ‘imminent release’ of the girls was botched.
“Also recently, a flurry of nocturnal activities have been going on ostensibly to negotiate the release of the girls, even after the same government that is apparently behind the activities had bluntly ignored wise counsel and said it would never negotiate their release.
“Finally, President Jonathan, in his characteristic ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude, refused to meet with the selfless men and women who have been championing the campaign for the release of the girls on the sixth-month anniversary of their abduction. Instead, the President sent a team of impudent ministers who went to lambast the altruistic campaigners and call them names. Juxtapose that with the global solidarity shown to the campaigners from non-celebrities and celebrities alike, including Alicia Keys, and you will realize how insensitive this Administration has been.
The party said from the ongoing, it is clear that President Jonathan has consciously manipulated the abduction of the girls for maximum political advantage

pittoilet:
On Tuesday, Pres. Buhari visited Yola where he insisted that he had fulfilled major promises made to electorate during his political campaign.

During a visit to the place of Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo, Mr. Buhari said that the fight against corruption and maintaining peace and security were among the priorities of his administration.

“We appreciate security progress in the North East and the country at large. He explained also that economic development has improved, especially in the area of agriculture.

"We are lucky that for the past two years farmers across the country experienced excellent harvests,” Buhari said.

Barkindo had advised Buhari not to listen to the call by some “empty barrel Nigerian elite’’ that he should not seek for a second term. “I am calling you to remain focus, stand firm and don’t listen to the empty barrels Nigerian elites who are calling you not to re-contest for 2019 Presidential election.

They are burying their heads in shame and telling people that Buhari’s led Government has done nothing,” Barkindo noted. He noted that the elite had forgotten that Buhari introduced Treasury Single Account where Tens of Trillions of naira belonging to Nigerian people was saved.

He listed some of the visible achievements of Buhari to include security, economy and fight against corruption.

Fear village people.
Village people are wicked,
To think these boys saved hard, forfeited every thing in Nigeria,

Took night bus from Aduwawa to Sokoto
Were packed up like sardines in a van from Niamey to Duruku.
Suffered in vain at Agahdez
Survived death in Tripoli
Took the risk of crossing Libya to Italy via the Mediterranean sea in nothing but a dinghy.

All of these just to practice cultism in Europe!!!

Their mates are hustling in Mozambique, sending down money and building mansions in Nigeria while these fools are just concerned with wearing berets and flying colours from Naples down to Turin.

They should deport all of them.
Boys at Okhoro, Uwelu, Akhugbe, Igun and Ekosodin are waiting to teach them cultism
Thumb up.

Thanks. I agree to an extent but this will only be possible if they have certain information. In one of my banks, to subscribe to using USSD service, you need to sign up using the number that is linked to your BVN which must be the same with the mobile number tied to your account. And of course, the last three digits of your BVN is required to complete the sign up.

A total stranger can't do that.
A stranger with your phone can get your BVN in few seconds. It will only cost #20. Only God will save us.
