IbrahimSola:. Thanks for the hints, but truth be told I Don tire. Add to whatever I said the fact that she is very successful in her career and you can just imagine. Chilled Christian brother that won't shout ,leave the house to go hang out with the guys and not once have I laid a finger on her,yet she will just be doing anyhow. SMHing!!!! |
theamazonguru:My wife will rather die than say sorry. Whenever you correct her, instead of listening and taking notes of things to correct, she is highlighting points for a rebuttal. It is always like a debate in my marriage with my wife being on the opposite team. |
Naaaaaaaaaaaa !!! Iyawo is just too stubborn and difficult to live with. Naa premarital sex carry me jam rock like this ooo and dem dey warn us for church those days, say abstain from sexual immorality but fine boy no dey hear word, sampling chicks up and down and eventually married one. Had all the sex I am supposed to be enjoying now before marriage cos now nothing dey happen. I never thought this could happen to me because it can be crushing when after over a decade you realise you absolutely married the wrong person. Meanwhile cheating is not an option cos of my commitment to a higher power. I just pray he makes a way cos mehnnnnnn !!!! |
valiju:More than twice actually. The Titan had made the same journey several times. |
I really don't understand how moving abroad is such a big deal when the country is not at war or one is fleeing genocide. So after you all leave, who is going to fix the mess ? Personally those who have escaped should not contribute to the goings on over here in naija. They should face their new home and challenge the status quo where they now reside, afterall, they are citizens of the world. |
uuzba:Oga,that is a curse. If I ask u how ur phone works,or how the Internet works I am sure u will just say it works. Our everyday lives currently are multiple miracles brought about by science technology, adventure and curiosity. Oyinbo put plane wey heavy pass house for sky for several hours, the thing no fall and see wetin African man dey talk. Let us not talk about Spacex's reusable rocket landing on a platform in the sea. Only advanced minds can stretch their thinking to how much science is involved. |
It is not fair to say certain things about advanced populations and rich people. Do you know how much the Nepalese government charge people to summit Everest. Mount Everest is visible, and many many people pay 20 to 50k dollars despite the trail been marked by several dead bodies of people who never made it to the top. Leave adventurers alone, they add colour to the world. Africans are dying in the Mediterranean because we lack visionaries and adventurers who can transform our continent. |
Adventurers are essential, they help us discover the vastness and beauty of God's creation. No crime in what they have done especially as this same sub has done the same journey several times before. James Cameron the director of Avatar and the Titanic has been to the Challenger Deep which is far deeper than where this occurred. People including me are fascinated by the titanic, I might not pay to go to its grave but I get excited whenever new images from the site come up. Unfortunately it is still the same old pictures which mean it is still a very difficult terrain to conquer. Oceangate is a hobbyist enterprise, if better company like Spacex face this deep oceans with better money, naa everyday people go dey go there and very safely too. For those saying they bought their deaths with their own money ,my response is people die in Ferraris and Lambos on land. Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter accident. Just make sure when you die,you are not facing your maker as a judge who would ask you questions you might not be able to answer. Jesus is essential and not a topic for debate. Accept him !!! |
I have never liked this man,but today it is official I LOVE BOLA AHMED TINUBU. A new Nigeria is being born. |
If your hands are clean, you can do whatever you like in Nigeria. There are no glass ceilings for men, women,Yoruba,Igbo or Kanuri. The richest Nigerians as a collective are the Igbos ,so who marginalize una ? U might not have political power, but you guys definitely have economic power. |
Backpedal:We all look up to the guy,but could anyone in Afica dethrone or ridicule him the way the Swiss did ? A certified performer ooo with figures to back it up. His subordinate bought a lot next to his house and could look directly into his compound. Can they try Jim Ovia or Elumelu like that in naija ? Racism and gatekeeping is real bro, forget say all man dey speak fonee. |
So Mr Obi,a zoo exported you and you were received by immigration in whatever country you landed in and not in a holding facility for escaped animals. I woke up to catch up on news and do some critical thinking only to read what you have written.i respect my elders, but sometimes these elders dey disgrace pesin. And funny enough some people will be clapping for you because of the plenty English and quoted statistics. They are the lazy ones, who can't read, think or analyse, always carried away by smoke screens. I have been to the US only once in my life, got a 2 year visa immediately after September 11 terrorist attacks with my mum when the US was rejecting applications left, right and centre. I had a 2 Yr visa but spent only 10 days after arriving in Chicago from London on a British Airways first class seat. My mum never used her visa. Having read my comments, you think you can buga me cos you live in America or the UK? Do I sound like someone who ate Kellogs Frosties for the first time in his adult life,or will start snapping picture of bacon and sausages in a restaurant to impress who ? I live in Nigeria, come and beat me. Abroadian !!! |

U are a poster child of inferiority complex. U might earn well, manage to string a couple of sentences together correctly, live in a suburb of the USA with kerb appeal, probably you have a mansion in your village that is locked up for 50 weeks of the year, but you are like a lot of Nigerians, money miss road, exposure jam block. They feel because they made it beyond the departure gates of Murtala Muhammad, they know what's up. Inferiority is deep rooted, exhibited by politicians, celebrities, supposed thought leaders and definitely you. U are like that boastful annoying kid in boarding house telling tall tales of how nice his neighbour's house is with several kids enjoying his rant because they don't know better. I am that kid who after a long while interjects and asks, how about you tell us about your own father's house. Is your father's house empty,in the Bush? How can you be so boastful of another man's achievements? The city you live in dear Mr Statistica which of your ancestors are on the honour block ? How many bricks did they lay to build that city, yet you mention fortune 500 CEOs. Ur only contribution to that city and state is paying your taxes ,that is even if you are legit. If you believe you are part of the system because you have lived there for soooo long,do anyhow and the gatekeepers would kindly show you who is boss. Ask Tidjane Thiam, the black African CEO of Credit Suisse, how more prestigious than that can a black man aspire in a field of white, elite conservatives. If he had stayed I doubt Credit Suisse would have gone under, but the gatekeepers would rather the ship sink than allow a black man take the glory of saving the passengers and crew. I am tired of you lot, live in your abroad and leave us alone. U have made it,many congratulations. Empty barrels keep making the most noise, they know all the problems but never proper any tangible solutions. Real problem solvers create jobs, build cities and businesses and do not keep boasting about how much they earn in a business started by a real problem solver. America is inundated with hundreds of years of problem solving thinkers who successively built that place layer by layer. Now an immigrant from naija will now carry his bag,go there and because they allowed him stay will start sticking his nose up in the air forgetting the community support that got him there in the first place. My dear Mr you are not better than any Nigerian that lives in Nigeria, you are just a Nigerian in another location. If you were, you won't be on naialand, you would be on another forum bound together by common ancestry. Oh I forgot, you are Scandinavian or Dutch or maybe Anglo whatever, descendant of viking conquerors. Better face front oga !!! |
Mr Biglyanga, My mum was diagnosed with a blood cancer in the early 2000s,and she lived with it till she died last year. She was almost 80. She was treated for 20 years by Nigerian doctors and not once was she flown abroad on account of her health, every single dose of several rounds of chemotherapy was here in Lagos,Nigeria. She had cancer but outlived many of her family and friends ,some of whom didn't even have high blood pressure. I was once fearful of dying but it was not because of the bad health care in Nigeria, but rather because I wasn't living right and this godly woman whom I called mummy taught me from childhood how to honour God with the way I live. When they increased the price of fuel last week,I was discussing with my assistant and he said to me in yoruba,"ko si on tiii n bo lati oke,ti ile o legba" and hours later I started ruminating over the statement. Very powerful and I had never heard it before. In this Nigeria oooo,I will be fine,my family and loved ones will be fine, those that trust God will be fine, but then we shouldn't be docile, lacking critical thinking and the ability to solve problems. The health challenges are a problem,Singapore has solved it way better than the US or the UK,maybe since you are so fixated on it,you have a purpose in that sector. Cheers egbon because you sound like an ancestor who has given up on his beloved homeland. |
BigIyanga:I don't even know the process of getting medical attention abroad. I am with a growing HMO in naija,if the drugs they give me are suspect because the maker is in India ,Jordan or Pakistan, I will enter pharmacy and buy Pfizer or Novartis at 3x the price, but I rarely do that. I believe in our health system despite the brain drain.Save urself unnecessary expenses and find you a good Nigerian doctor. My only issue with us is specialities like the kidneys, brain and some cancers. Even kidney ailments can be handled in naija,it is just really really costly. Nothing to fear,God got us.If you are ever worried,I recommend a hot bowl of okra vegetable with diced pomo and giant shrimps, any swallow of your choice and a chilled bottle of coke. We die here, nothing dey happen. |
IbeOkehie:I wonder at you lot that can comfortably settle in another man's country but again maybe it is an upbringing perspective. I was an only child growing up here in Nigeria because my older brothers were in boarding schools in England, and while the thought of going abroad was once upon a time interesting, the more time I spent abroad, the more I didn't want to be there. A driver took me everywhere in Nigeria, but at 13 I was given a travel card and could go wherever I pleased in London. I even attended the Nottinghill carnival by myself at 15. But as I got older, home kept calling. I remember the first time I saw the tube station Embankment on the northern line if I am right, and something happened inside me at the tender age of 13.It was a desire to build, create beautiful designs like how beautiful that tube station was. Some people built the London underground over a hundred years ago, others keep modernising and expanding it,and voila, Lagos is an empty canvass on which imagination can become a masterpiece. The more time I spent in London, the more I realised I couldn't possibly exist there. There are no problems to solve and there is always certainly a coldness in the air that doesn't have anything to do with the weather. In naija however with all the problems APC this,PDP that,it is sunshine forever and there is never a dull moment. If Jesus my saviour tarries,I will die in this country because I love Nigeria. I might be moving to Jos,but except God wills,I don't see myself spending more than 2 weeks outside naija. |
Chief, you are one of us. |
IbeOkehie: |
Stay in your lane people. Peer pressure and stupidity . Why do I want people to perceive me as what I am not? Fat Joe said in an interview his life changed when he called all his hangers on,boot lickers and supposed homes and announced to them "I ain't got it " meaning this money why una think say dey no really dey ooo. Most of them left him afterwards. Lesson I learnt is when you announce yourself, you just end up attracting beggars and sycophants who don't really care about you but want a meal at your table. |
There is nothing you can tell all these "I want to japaa " people that they will hear. Their default setting is the grass is greener on the other side till they actually get to the other side. London,Sydney, Singapore,Dubai are beautiful places to visit,I don't know about to live, but they are what they are because sensible people over time curated what we now admire in those cities. If I can make the part of Lagos I live more beautiful, I would have achieved something for humanity. Why would I want to live abroad ? |
IbeOkehie:My answer to all you have said is money doesn't save anyone from an inferiority complex. Go to Peru,Argentina,Spain and see how the upper class in supposed not so developed countries think and behave. We live and think abroad and never ever get integrated into our adopted societies. No matter how much money you get for naija,in one central park west building you would become irrelevant with several occupants having either more money or clout than you. Nigerians don't understand the culture abroad, they just think they do. |
Just look at the rocky surroundings of the waterfall. I personally advocate that young people should be cautious while having fun. This is a deadly area to dive especially if the water is not crystal clear. God give those he has left behind the fortitude to bear the loss. |
For those who say following God is too hard, wait a few more years and watch yourself naturally lose pleasure in those things you think you can never live without. For those who say the "end times " are tales concocted by delusional minds keep your gaze on Israel, AI,eradication of cash and the drive to capture the information of every human alive. Keep your gaze on Putin and his senseless war, China eyeing Taiwan, the overdrive of the LGBTQ agenda and let it make sense. What the world is experiencing is organised chaos, allowed by God and described as birth pangs in the bible. The show on this side of eternity is almost over and hands are already on the curtains, about to be drawn. God doesn't need you to be God. Whether you accept it or not,he created this thing called life, and when it pleases him,he will end it. |
This culture thing always makes me laugh. Next they will say you can't eat good Nigerian food in USA.
