Christianity EtcRe: What Would You Do If You Missed The Rapture? by kushe: 10:19am On May 28, 2023
I can only imagine the conversation here on nairaland and other comment sections when we have departed.
The confusion is better imagined than experienced. So these weirdos were right all along about God,Jesus, salvation, holiness, the rapture.
I can't miss the rapture because I have made the judge of the world the custodian of my soul.
I proudly belong to Jesus, and when he comes,he will be taking with him all those that have chosen to forsake the world and follow him.

Fantastic piece of legislation.
Unfortunately it will not pass because Nigerians worship at the altar of migration by all means necessary.
Unfortunately this is one of the only steps that can stem the tide of the decay in our heediconealth are sector.
For me,step one would be to introduce student loans and then jack up the cost of studying a course like medicine.
If you really want to study medicine you will pay like 3-5M per year. If your folks don't have money,Access or GTB will loan you the money which can be written off as you earn points post house job.
BusinessRe: How Lucrative Is A Supermarket Business? by kushe: 7:22pm On Mar 26, 2023
The supermarket business is only going to get bigger as the generation that likes the open air market concept age and die out.
Next we will have specialty stores e.g a soft furnishing and home accessories store instead of the guys at tejuosho pulling you to look through their curtains album or a self build building materials store instead of the chaos at muslin or orile.
The UK is so small and has thousands of the main supermarket brands. I never noticed any other supermarket apart from my local kwiksave till well into my teens only to find out kwiksave was very small in the scheme of things where big boys like Tesco and Sainsburys were.
In conclusion,it is the wild wild west now,but not for long. Order is coming to that industry and only the big boys will survive.
BusinessRe: How Lucrative Is A Supermarket Business? by kushe: 7:09pm On Mar 26, 2023
Every business is lucrative to the untrained eye till you actually take the plunge and get knee deep in the day to day running of the business.
Is it lucrative? That answer is not dependent on location alone but the expertise of the owner of the business and how willing they are to learn.
Staff will make mistakes (I.e bill you for 3 items when you have 5 in your cart), they will invite their family and friends to shop only to generate half of what they pick as an invoice while security will just glance and tick the invoice.
Should we talk about products that expire, that is why I prefer cosmetics ,wine and alcohol ,cleaning and laundry . U are far safer with those categories, but some items stay so long on the shelf even in these categories that you can almost do thanksgiving the day you sell one.
The business as a concept in Nigeria is still in its infancy and trust me that in a few years there will be massive consolidation with the smaller brands dying out to make way for dominant regional players not exceeding 10 in number.
EducationRe: Nigerian Students In UK, Others Risk Deportation by kushe: 2:28am On Jan 26, 2023
Many don't realise that the bottom line of the British immigration policies is demographics and future tax revenues.
A service based nation with an aging population ,,significant LGBT population that do not procreate and a falling birthday is a disaster waiting to happen.
Fortunately developing countries like Nigeria and India love to dey born like rats,so what do they do ? They open the gates while their experts go to work on the data they have.
These people know what they are doing and don't care too much about what country is affected.
They simply want highly skilled immigrants who still have some years on their clock to contribute significantly to the tax pool of the future.

I have tried to profile the mind of an educated, right thinking, exposed young Nigerian that supports the APC and my conclusion is that these folks are not really educated, they claim to have been to a university but they are not really thinking right. They manage to type good english but they are myopic and can hardly see beyond their noses.
What kind of human being tolerates failure after failure ? Who tolerates the custodians of untold hardship, the people who made us to start fasting and praying just to go from Lagos to Ibadan.
Now we are debating the policies of sound minds as regarding what is best for their society while some are her busy endorsing total misfits.
For their own sakes I just hope they are trolling !
EducationRe: Nigerian Students In UK, Others Risk Deportation by kushe: 11:58pm On Jan 25, 2023
Nigerians have always japad,my own parents got married in England and only returned to Nigeria after the civil war but trust me when I tell you that those that did well in Nigeria far surpassed those that eventually managed to become middle class.
Nigeria is rapidly growing and with growth comes needs and an opportunity for value to be created.Forget who wins the elections and stop whining about how bad the government is,get up from your behind and add some value to people's lives.
Someone started importing hair, another umbrellas, razor blades and the children of these folks go and play where most people sell all that they have to go and hustle.
Just look at how many people Instagram has made extremely wealthy, all the small business owners, the skit makers, the influencers and yet people talk about earning in pounds.
Oh they earn in pounds but do you pay 800 pounds or 1k pounds for your apartment in Lekki or Ikeja.
Do you buy a canned coke for N600 ?
Please leave if you have to but in 10 years time, history will judge if the mass hysteria of japaaing actually made any sense.
EducationRe: Nigerian Students In UK, Others Risk Deportation by kushe: 11:41pm On Jan 25, 2023
Unfortunately many claim to be educated but do not read. If only folks dug into history they would discover nothing is new and history keeps repeating itself.
In the 1800s while England and parts of Europe were on overdrive due to the industrial revolution and churning out life changing technology ,the port cities in these same countries were witnessing unprecedented emigration to the US because to some that was their only hope.Italians,Irish,Scottish,Welsh, they all Japad like you people love to say but the grass only seemed greener on the other side, but was it ?
Back then u didn't even need a visa, you just arrived at a port in New York and they did a crude physical exam to ascertain you weren't carrying an infectious disease,ur details were recorded and off you went into the world to go and hustle.
Hustle they did but most immigrants never made it,the new world was a mirage. Living conditions for immigrants were impossible, dark, cold rooms shared by several families in buildings called tenements and worst was the ethnic clusters that gave rise to gangs.
Mirror that with the UK today, most immigrants arrive just excited to wear winter jackets and possibly see snow for the first time. They take pictures like they were going to be banned if they didn't document their new found freedom ,then gbam reality hits. Accommodation crisis, they are priced out of the market because of insufficient funds and now resort to overcrowding and inconveniencing more settled immigrants who give them a few weeks grace after which they subtly hint them that they need to start dropping.
Why do the Ethiopians bandy together, the East Africans the Chinese, the Indians.
I once lived in North London and believe me in some parts, you would have thought they dropped you in India.
Meanwhile in Nigeria stuff is happening just like stuff was happening in England back then but people are too blind to see and are fixated on just one singular option, escaping to Neverland.

I hope for your own sake that when you close your eyes in death, consciousness ceases permanently.
But if after death, you are still conscious,it means your soul would have detached from your body and then it will be time to face the music.
Those that refuse Jesus on this side of eternity will face him as judge on the other side.

TravelRe: Can Divers Enter Third Mainland Bridge Water? by kushe: 5:09pm On Nov 21, 2021
3MB actually follows a route which is like the shallowest part of the lagoon that in is near land.
This is because the deeper the water, the higher the construction costs so it only makes sense the water isn't too deep.
However during the dry season the lagoon loses depth and you can actually see fishermen standing in the water especially between Adekunle and Unilag and just before Oworo.
As per visibility ,normal people will not see jack but professional murky water divers can even find a watch or phone if they know where it fell.
That said, that water is disgusting because somewhere around Iddo, all the poop trucks in Lagos dislodge.
I heard that is what the fish eat, poop and dead human beings.

Dear Righteousness,

What an amazing platform God has presented you to share his love with as many as daily open different threads on nairaland.
Maybe it started as you commenting, but now I believe it is a calling and the people are listening. They may make jokes and invite your commentary sarcastically but believe me your words are gradually having an impact on many hearts.
The world has gone crazy with everybody just doing anyhow, but increase your volume if that is what God has sent you to do.
Not everything negative that happens is related to the end of days, but I do believe the global conflicts, pandemics and an imminent worldwide economic collapse is certainly driving us towards something.
I remember the day Jesus was to return in 1990 or 1991,how we all gathered in my secondary school chapel waiting for something to happen and then it didn't.
Many started poking fun and till today they still poke fun at the return of Jesus. Even Femi Kuti in his song 'wonder' acknowledged that many have died waiting for him to return.
Unfortunately many forget that any day could be their last and if they died without Christ it won't matter if Jesus came back or not.
The warning is for those that would be alive at his return which could be today or in another 30 years. But what if you died today ?
Pastor Righteousness,God bless you and continue the good work. You have prime real estate waiting for you on the other side where the buildings are cladded in the glory of God and can never be ever collapse.

Because he is constantly in our faces,we think we know him so well but give the young man a break,he just finished youth service barely 2 or 3 years ago.
Secondly Shaggy keeps striking, some strikes are misses (hence some people not finding him funny)but he never stops posting which means he is constantly working.
His generation should learn from this man because he is seriously monetizing the spotlight because no one knows where this whole industry is going. The whole skit making thing was an accidental success for our entertainment industry but once people see say money dey something, everybody will jump inside, hence we have more content than time to view the content.
Props to Shaggy, woli agba, lasisi, woli arole because I believe they started from the heart.

If we cannot collectively dream about a better future, then all man better dream him own dream.
Let us talk about politicians, how many of them ever solved a problem before entering politics.
How many of them ever created value by running a successful business?
Nigeria's problem is more economic than people realize but we are so focused on politics that most people think our problem is political.
We have retired army generals, retired civil servants who were mostly corrupt, professional political jobbers running a country with so much economic potential but without a clue how to harness it.
Nigeria should look to Ghana where even African Americans are choosing of their own will to settle in and loads of their citizens are returning.

Nigeria breaks my heart almost on a daily basis, but being here is a choice I made over a decade ago because I had dreams of an amazing future here.
Nigeria is like a beautiful bride you hope to spend the rest of your life with, but then her character stinks and she keeps showing you new traits that just leave you exhausted.
I love it here most especially as something about being here keeps God on your mind.
I still love Nigeria and I believe in making it here but I absolutely detest the leadership even though at this point I no longer blame the government for our woes.

PoliticsRe: Oyan Dam Release: Lagos Alerts Residents Over Flood. by kushe: 6:57am On Sep 15, 2021
Now I am convinced that even a lot of people on nairaland don't read.
A dam is constructed on an existing waterway after the topography surrounding the river has been thoroughly studied.
The dam is erected at the best location usually on a narrow portion because it doesn't make sense to erect a fence in water across a wide area( that will be foolish) and secondly the narrowing of the river increases pressure at that point especially for use by turbines to generate power.
Upstream before the dam water begins to accumulate and further increases the pressure at the dam which is put to use to work the turbines.
If the turbines are out of use as is usually the case and you have excess rain, the communities that are relocated during the construction of the dam will still be in danger because even though they have moved to higher ground, their homes and farms will be destroyed by the rising backlog.
The only option is to occasionally release the water downstream (like taking a leak when your bladder is full)
Unfortunately we have a lot of low lying areas around the course this water takes into the ocean hence the almost annual flooding.
Nigeria no get the money for the technology required to solve this problem but in countries like the Netherlands, naa pikin play be this issue.
