i have always found igbo culture extremely fascinating, so much i am learning from the input of everyone so far, av got a question though, can anyone shed more light on the geographical boundaries that constitutes/constituted the Nri/Aro dynasties? this will help peg physical locations to some of the explanation going on here, will greatly appreciate
PoliticsRe: Shock And Disbelief - Registration Centers Found In Anambra's Evil Forest Shrine by la1(m): 7:14pm On Jan 26, 2011
apart from the obvious comedic value of this report,i see absolutely nothing wrong with this picture, as long as the ad-hoc staff and equipment were legitimately posted there by INEC,and were registering legitimate citizens of the federal republic,we can argue that 4 machines is excessive, but to label a forest as "evil" just to discredit a legitimate exercise is stretching creative journalism abit too far.some one even mentioned in the report that the area has been recognized by INEC as an official polling zone since 1998 so whats  the big whoop about?

FamilyRe: Do Women Change After Marriage? by la1(m): 6:36pm On Jan 18, 2010
The only sure thing in life is "change" its as inevitable as birth and death.

she will change. relative to you, its a two way street.

my advise is that you work in anticipation of that change, its nobody's fault,it just one of the natural pre-established laws that governs the universe and everything therein
PoliticsRe: Ngige, Soludo Or Obi: Who Would You Choose As Your Candidate And Why? by la1(m): 6:30pm On Oct 19, 2009
I see this one going down to the wire, on the one hand we have peter obi with the power of incubency which, in Nigeria has proven to be a very strong asset indeed going by previous records.

Then we have Ngige who is very popular in Anambra for being a peoples man, he will be hard to beat because ppl seldom forget those who do good to them , plus he's riding on the platform of the AC, a party that is determined to match the PDP in this case trickery for trickery, they have learnt alot from the Ekiti experience and are wiser now no doubt.

Finally we have Soludo whose credentials will frighten most mortal men into caves to hide, couple that with the PDP machine and he could be unstoppable, its gonna be a tight one but if i were to call it now, i would place my chips on Ngige., why? Tested and Trusted.

PoliticsRe: 'Repentant' Militants Go On Rampage In Bayelsa by la1(m): 10:41am On Sep 07, 2009
TheSeeker:
I don't think they can be disarmed. Do you honestly think they came out with at least 30% of their arsenal? In my opinion, they came out with less than 20%. These guys are so sophisticated. Why I suggested the Nigerian Army was, if they are inducted, they will have to be sent to different locations, different barracks in different states; this will halt contacts among them and reduce regrouping.

If a security agency is made out of them in that region, they're still leaving them with a bright opportunity to further drum up their militancy. However, I think the government can broker a sort of deal and come to a common agreement with these top officials of the military, so hatred for them will be slightly out of the way as they will be trained by specific officials.
@THE seeker, i am with you on this one.
PoliticsRe: Dele Momodu Replies Nairalanders! by la1(m): 2:46pm On Sep 03, 2009
Dear uncle Dele,

i have always admired your drive, u are a tireless canvaser for this enterprise called Nigeria, you have done well in many respects, however the bone of contention here which i feel you have failed to understand , is that you cant expect to lie with dogs and not get up with fleas, your continuous cavorting and open celebration of well known corrupt individuals will not win you any praise among any fair minded Nigerians.

i encourage you not to take the criticism to heart, just appreciate it as friendly advice which will only help steer you in a better direction and in the end, make you a better person still.

may your days be long and  merry.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Hitv Bans Unauthorized Public Viewing Of Premier League & Other Matches. by la1(m): 4:20pm On Aug 19, 2009
Dear HITV,

you want to charge 20k for viewing centers cos you aint moving units on decoders cos you increased your subscription to an unreasonable 6k per month for just football, cos all the other channels you offer are boring compared to your rivals bouquet, dumb idea, even if you paid a100million euros for the rights, its still a bad approach to alienate your only constituency, i.e your customers!,

any company that looses sight of the fact that they cannot exist without CUSTOMERS is lost indeed,

Small advice: introduce some incentives like better channels, real time support and activation, gifts and rewards ,instaed of using this seemingly draconian approach, altough you are right to charge a fee for viewing,it should be commiserate with the level and quality of service you are offering .

its not what you do its how you do it,do it right while you still have the advantage.

i hope your "friend" has a 24carat lined snatch to go with her request, its  ok to fantasize but you nees to get real, what does buyin GOLD BARS for your bride price have to do with proving love?, next thing you will ask for fair and equal treatment when he has PAID for you,, go figure.

advice to "friend", dont demand anything, you can get your gold bars and more if you give him some of your own, make it look like it was his idea and he will build you a 24carat gold palace in the middle of the freaking Pacific

CultureRe: How Successful Has Feminism In Africa And In Nigeria Been? by la1(m): 2:09pm On May 22, 2009
with shows like "THE KOKO MANSION" the push for equality of the sexes will definitely suffer a century long setback,Nigerian women have no voice, for as long as corperate entities continue to openly abuse womanhood  in the quest for insignificant material gain.
