How these people still spread propaganda that Gowon released Awo from the East he never controlled baffles me.

How can a Gowon a man who was persona non grata and couldn't even venture into the East, effect a release in a region that never took orders from him before the war?

The explanation is simple. The yorubas can not bear the shame of agreeing that the East released Awo who later turned back to support an atrocious war against them. It will make them look like evil ingrates before the world, so they are convenient to perpetuate the propaganda that Gowon effected a release in a region that never took others from.

Can Kim jon un effect a release of north korea prisoners in South korea? Now if a north korean prisoner is released from a south korean jail and Kim jon un takes a picture with the prisoner does it mean he gave the order that South korea must release him?

Even the picture was part of the propaganda in order to mobilize a North + SW comradeship as they went to war against the East.

Awo was also a writer, there is reason why Awolowo never wrote about his release in East in all the many books he wrote, which I have read. He lived a full 17 years after the war but couldn't muster the courage to write about his release even though he wrote regularly. His conscience couldn't let him.

The way some yoruba twist logic to promote a narrative can made the devil shudder sometimes.

Why should they be affected?

Between 1970 to 1980s when it was a mortal sin for an easterner to even have an opinion after losing the war to Nigeria and her British backers, did you hear of any of Eastern journalists or social commentator arrested? They simply went home to quietly rebuild their cities damaged by war, while the people like Fela, Gani and co were busy jumping in and out of jail.

It won't affect the East, the 3rd term will succeed, SW journalists will only grumble on social media but they can't do anything about because it will now be interpreted as 'hate speech'. The judges won't find it difficult to jail.

The bill is coming through whether Nigerians like it or not.

APC will be in a quagmire in 2023 and I'm waiting to see how they navigate through it.

The SW bloc of Tinubu and co, cannot accept to take VP slot again. They'd claim they weren't born to perpetually play second fiddle. And rightfully so.

Now, if the northern bloc choose to discard SW and go for SS or SE, they will lose the SW whilst not being sure of SS/SE support.

If APC will survive beyond 2023, their ticket should traditional go to SW and vice from north.

Let PDP represent our darling Atiku/Obi or Umahi ( for d sake of peace) and let's do some popularity test once again.

Delusions, even Ojo your yoruba brother have realised that APC will shoot itself on the foot if SW is given the ticket.

They can't get votes from the SESS region, no Southern president have won election by losing majority of the southern votes.

The only prayer PDP is saying right now is that APC should throw away political pragmatism and settle for emotions by giving SW the ticket. It will be a landslide victory for PDP in both North &South.
