Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, criticised the recent currency redesign policy and the country’s foreign exchange (FX) rate management system while speaking at his party’s campaign rally in Cross River state.
The rally was held at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River’s capital.
The former Lagos state governor criticised the recent currency redesign policy and the rapid depreciation of the naira.
He said when the present government took over in 2015, the naira/dollar exchange rate was about N200 to a dollar but it has depreciated to about N800/$ at the parallel market.
The two developments Tinubu spoke about at the campaign rally occurred under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
“Don’t let them lie to you about change of currency. They have never understood what inflation is about,” the APC presidential candidate said.
“They never understand (sic) what money laundering is all about.
“To change and the torture moved the exchange rate from 200 to 800. If they had repaired it, if they had arrested this, we won’t be where we are today. We will be greater. They don’t know the way, they don’t know how to think, they don’t know how to do.
“I say, follow me. Are you going to follow me? Are you going to vote for me?”

DonOG: Good morning guys, an incident happened over the weekend which I would love to share with you guys so you can help judge the case because some of my friends are insisting I handled it wrongly.
A couple of my military friends, a navy officer and a soldier came into town last week and proposed to take my girlfriend out so we proceeded to her to pick her up from school. On our way we stopped by a fueling station to get fuel so I gave them a location to go wait for me while I take a bike to pick her up since the queue was a bit much. On our way out of school we came across two guys on the walk way, they exchanged glances and asked each other "what", one of the guys happened to be her coursemate that she already told me about sometime ago.
According to her, the guy used to be an errand boy for a notorious cult guy that used to ask her out during her first year, so the said guy was the one always coming to deliver messages to her. she didn't want to get involved with cultists so she would normally leave the guy hanging around without giving him a response to the messages. After the guy asking her out left the school the guy somehow started nursing a grudge against her.
While we stood at the school gate waiting for a bike the guy showed up again, this time with five guys with him and accosted my babe. He demanded to know why she talked to him rudely, before she could say jack he landed a jaw shattering slap on her cheek that nearly sent her sprawling to the ground. I was embarrassed but had to apply wisdom because the area wasn't my territory coupled with the fact that I was obviously out numbered. I held the guy's hand when he proceeded to slap her again and asked him why he would embarrass me by hitting a lady that was with me. Meanwhile my girlfriend was behind my back hurling insults at the guy saying stuff like he had the gut to hit her because he has started moving with cultists and other stuff I don't recall.
While I was trying to placate the situation, I noticed more guys closing in on us and knew I would be in danger if I didn't leave the place. I somehow managed to get a bike and took her away. My military friends were furious when they heard what happened insisted we go back to the school. I told them to die the matter because even if they are military guys we were still out numbered and we might get seriously injured before their backup comes.
They insisted on going back to the school, we went and as expected didn't meet any of the guys. They made a report to the school security and promised to come back the next day. On our way back they kept making calls and arranging a squad that would pick up the guy the next day while I kept trying to make them see reasons why it was going to be a bad move.
Firstly they can't possibly apprehend all the cultists in the school so arresting the guy will simply make the girl a moving target for the rest of the members and I wasn't willing to take that risk for someone that has just a couple of months to graduate. We might go and display power in the school and go back home while the girl will be all alone in the school without any form of protection, its not like they are going to assign a personal bodyguard to her. What if matters go south and a life or even lives get lost, it would be embarrassing to hear that it was all because of a girl that will move on to the next guy in a matter of weeks if anything happens to me. I was finally able to convince them and make them stand down.
The following day I brokered a peace meeting between my girlfriend and the guy through the cult guy's cousin that was also her friend though I didn't show up at the location. I even asked her to apologize to the guy for insulting him just to massage his ego so the matter could die down. My girlfriend recorded everything while the guy kept threatening her that she wasn't going to graduate for insulting him because she was with a guy. He went on to say that I was the target of the attack because they thought I would react to the assault on her and maybe fight back. They were even laughing at her that she's dating a coward that couldn't defend her in an attack, I just smiled.
My girlfriend was upset that she had to apologize to someone that hit her, but I told her that sometimes we have to choose our fights wisely. You don't go into a fight with someone that doesn't have anything to lose. Some of my friends feel I am a coward but I still feel I handled it the best way. What do you guys think??.....sorry for the epistle or any errors.

Nobody is against the new naira policy but question is, why didn’t the circulate the new notes since it was printed out in December? Why is it now that it’s just barely a week to the deadline that they’re trying to compel everyone to get it from the banks, when actually they’re yet to distribute enough to the banks?
Why should they try to frustrate Nigerians, why should they cause unnecessary panic in the public?
There was no real fuel scarcity for the past 6 years, how come it’s starting now?
Now, Tinubu has shown that he’s ahead, confident and not a coward the more reason why he voiced out yesterday. If it were some Lilly liver politician, he would remain muted while these elements make Nigerians angry at him, but now that he's voiced out, expect this who thing to disappear in a few days.
The cabals (Malami and co) know quite well that should Tinubu president, it'd not be business for them as it currently is with Buhari, they're scared and they probably striked a bargain with Atiku and they're eager to work with him so they can have food on their table again.
Because you can see clearly how fast Atiku campaign team quickly replied back to Tinubu outburst. They never expected he would be bold enough to call out the cabal and they know quite well that with that outburst, their game plan is going down.

At that time he was into a particular one called Kala. He collected money from people to the tune of N9.6million in the name of trying to help them invest in Kala. The investment went under and he is now using family members to pressurize me to assist him especially to secure a loan from a particular coop society I belong to so that he can pay off four of the people he help to invest who are seriously troubling his life with police and thugs.
I am not willing to do this under any condition. I have told him to sell off our late dad's landed property if he can get a buyer but people are offering peanuts and two of our sisters (his own full sibs) are insisting on getting their own share immediately it is sold, one even said she didn't send him on online investment. If he can get buyer for the property, I can help talk to our other siblings but these two, no way!

Speaking with DCL Hausa, Ms Muhammad said that the former Lagos governor might be battling severe dementia, which is identified by memory loss and also result in loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment.
“I sat with him for two hours in London; when you talk of green, he will give you an answer of red. He can’t even decipher. He has very serious dementia; I believe he has Alzheimer’s because he cannot even hold a cup of tea,” she said.
Ms Muhammad, a former APC chieftain, recently resigned from her position as director of civil society engagement in the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on grounds that she could no longer serve national interests in clear conscience if she continues to support Mr Tinubu’s presidential bid.
Ms Muhammad clarified her comments in the interview, confirming the former Lagos governor’s widely known terrible health situation.
She revealed that during a two-hour private meeting in London, Mr Tinubu slept for almost the entirety of the time she was with him.
“Asiwaju that I sat with for two hours, he slept most of the time, it was Bisi Akande that I was really talking to. Most importantly he is not only physically unfit, he is mentally unfit, whether we want it or not, this is the truth,” she said.
She added that while Mr Tinubu’s associates may feel the burden to repay him for the political goodwill he has shown in the past, but not as far as to entrust leadership of Africa’s most populous country in his frail hands.
“But when you talk of the leadership of over two hundred million people, you know that if you remove tribal sentiments, you know that he is incapable; those that will rule are those around him. This is the reality. He is mentally deranged – I said it,” she added.
A spokesperson for Mr Tinubu did not respond to calls and messages seeking comments on Ms Muhammed’s assertions."
