JomoGbomo2: Its a big slap on Africa as a whole and to Madiba rohilalah himself for mentioning Murtala or idiagbon where mandela is mentioned.
This man is the product of the mistake of nature, he was never meant to be an african, he is a product of the Law of exception. even obama does not compare to him, never.
He is my role model politically, and i am proud of him. Nigeria has never had anyone that could be in the same room with him, shameful enough, OBJ was among the delegate commonwealth sent to talk to him while in prison, i wonder y he cant just learn the spirit of selflessness from him.
please read " Long Walk To Freedom" before commenting on this "Legend" again you have lost the plot. totally. he was never meant to be african, so pray tell who was he meant to be, a martian? remove that comment sarpish and the rest of your post makes sense. |

gestapo: Yes Cheryl was a chav, but she is not racist. Yes she was guilty of assaulting that toilet attendant (who is highly likely an illegal immigrant too - how many legal citizens do you know works in a toilet- subject for another day) but she is not racist, her victim just happened to be black. You could tell from her days on "popsters" she had black "leaning/inclination"
Ashley Cole's Mum is white, so he is free to claim he is mixed race.
Gamu and her family has the legal right to remain in the UK, all they need is a good solicitor hogwash |
1. By real meaning of influential, i dont really believe OBJ is influential. People will not go and do things in nigeria because OBJ 'suggested' it.
2. Sultan of Sokoto is very influential because considering the number of people dat can actually do things he 'suggested'
3. Pastor Adeboye is very influential and so also most religious leaders.
4. Saraki's rigging of elections did not qualify him as influential.
5. Psquare is very influential too cos many young people will do things because of them
Let me add that another nigerian politician who can be influential to an extent is Ojukwu.
So many igbo people see him as eze ndi igbo. Not in my own opinion though.
OBJ forced a sick president on our collective asses. if thats not influential i dont know what is, plus he told IBB to stand down in 2007. bros abegi. again who does the UN go to when there is crisis in africa like the congo one? again OBJ. he is influential whether u like him is quite irrelevant |
Politics › Re: 20 Most Influential Nigerians--vanguard by ladej(m): 1:31am On Oct 15, 2010 |
Sagamite: What a joke list.
OBJ is respected round the would for turning Nigeria around since 1999.
Asa is more influential than King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti? Are we having a laugh?
Where is Chinua Achebe on the list? But I am seeing someone called Sagoe that I have never head of?
What happened to Bayo Ogunlesi and Hakeem Belo-Osagie?
What about Francis Arinze of the Vatican and Jay Jay Okocha?
What about RMD, Ibrahim Agboola Gambari of the UN, Bola Ajibola? its not a joke list although a bit controversial like all lists. do bear in mind that the list refers tothe current. you are prolly in your 30s which is why you are aware of sunny ade and femi, but the current youth /916-25) know asa more. just like lil wayne being picked over prince in the US. has to do with age demography. deola sagoe is a well respected fashion designer. google her achievements. she is smoking! okocha yep. |

kabukabu: Its called acting like a human being, ladej. something a lot of nigerians have never quiet grasped, here in the west there are rules and regulations,in naija there are none , you could get harrassed/locked up and jailed for no reason. u make a good point but i wont agree there are none. people know the right thing but refuse to do it [from the citizenry], and the cops do lock up people for no reason. i was almost a victim too once, if not for friends. |

ebeledi: mannnn!!! this is a good topic i will never forget my first trip i took nigeria, i landed from @ lagos and we had to drive 9 hours to Ahoda on "public transport." Funny thing is we probally could of got there ALOT faster if the dumb asss police men wouldn't have stopped us every FUCKIN 20 minutes, And when they found out that i was "from abroad" they checked every fuckkin bag and found a video camera then they asked me for the reciept and i replied "i dont have one." Then i was accused of being a "theif" because i didn't have the reciept for a fuckin camera, they held us up for at least 4 hours of straight up arguing and threatning to do this and that, finally the head officer came and released us THANK GOD, one thing i noticed though is rivers state police are not as hostile as the other police, pele |

Properties › Re: 13 Reasons Why You Should Build Your Own House. by ladej(m): 1:03am On Sep 28, 2010 |
question: Sometimes, when you think of the stress involved in 1. Buying land in your choice location 2. Preparing and clearing the land 3. Obtaining a building plan 4. Stress, cost and inflation on building materials (fakes and originals) 5. Stress, cost and headache of workmen (quacks and professionals) 6. The periodic maintenance required to keep the house standing.
My brother, sometimes it is easier and more flexible to relocate as a tenant whenever you feel like moving. For example, if the road becomes bad, the area becomes flooded, insecurity issues, bad neighbors etc.
well, it is a personal issue. despite your valid points above the thought of renting at 50 is scary. actually gives me nightmares. while one may be relocating in their youth every 2 to 3 years, once a wife and children come into the picture one needs stability, and an egg nest of an investment to supplement the pension/gratuity post retirement. all 6 points will be negated in future once your property appreciates [no matter how long it takes]. cheers bro |

western cops are mostly arseholes. yup. i said it. ask the families of rodney king et al. not an isolated incident either. majority of those here favouring the western cops speak to them with almighty respect, try giving them a tiny bit of attitude, when u do come back and post your battered up facial pictures for us to analyse ! |

folks the title is an oxymoron. her music is by far the classiest and best produced from a Nigerian artiste in 3 years[the debut]. i have no doubt this will follow in that trend. what a classy musician. cant wait. |
