Politicsone chance Governor, I regret voting for you - Lai Mohammed slams Gov Abdulrazak by Ladumaa(op): 5:57pm On Jul 19, 2021

Mon Jul 19 2021

A group, Arewa Youth Frontiers for Good Governance (AYFGG) has chided Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, for calling the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq a “one chance governor.”

The minister, during the unveiling of a factional All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Ilorin recently, said he regretted supporting AbdulRazaq.

“It was immediately after the governor emerged as the party’s candidate for the election that it dawned on us that we had entered ‘one chance,” he had said.

But speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Sunday, the National Coordinator of AYFGG, Mohammed Hussaini, said it was unfortunate such a degrading comment came from a minister and a leading figure in the party.

Lai’s ire was provoked because the governor has refused to dance to his tune and the political stakeholders have denied him the role of a kingmaker in Kwara State, he said.

He said AbdulRazak should be supported as he unprecedentedly transforms the state, instead of being distracted.

“We are not surprised at the vituperation of Lai Mohammed because we knew that since the coming of the Abdulrahman’s government in Kwara State, the kingmaker role he expected to regale in did not come simply because Governor Abdulrahman has refused to dance to his tune or regard him as a kingmaker,” he said.

Aloy Ejimakor, the Nigerian lawyer of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, says the separatist is cheerful in the custody of the Department of State Services.

He made this known in a tweet after meeting the IPOB leader in the DSS custody.

According to him, Nnamdi Kanu stressed the importance of unity and tolerance on all sides.

The lawyer said the meeting lasted about four hours.

“Today, I met with Onyendu at the DSS. We spent nearly four hours. My interaction with him was fulfilling.

“He’s cheery and looks forward to overcoming this predicament sooner than later. Again, he stressed UNITY and tolerance on all sides. He has you all in his thoughts,” he tweeted.

Kanu, who is facing an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism and illegal possession of firearms, among others, jumped bail in 2017 and left the country.

The former London estate agent disappeared in 2017 after being released on bail, only to re-emerge in Israel and then in the United Kingdom[/s].

Tranquill:
Renouncing the citizenship of a country is not something you do verbally. There are steps and processes involved which also includes swearing to an affidavit in a court of law. Each country has their guidelines but they are almost the same process. At the end, it is only the president or his representative that can approve your application to renounce your citizenship. For Nigeria, see below...

Basic Requirements

A Nigerian Citizen not below the universal adult age of 18 is afforded the constutional right to renounce citizenship. Prospective applicants who desire to renounce their Nigerian citizenship should note that the power to approve renunciation/restoration of Nigerian citizenship is the sole prerogative of Mr. President, as enshrined in Chapter III, Article 29, sub. Section 1-2, of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Accordingly, the Nigerian Mission abroad only facilitates the application but does not hold the ultimate decison.

A Formal Application Letter, duly signed by the applicant.
A duly Completed Application Form provided by the Mission.
Affidavit for Renunciation of Citizenship in a Nigerian Court.
Two copies of recent passport photographs.
Original Letter/Certifiate of identification from LGA of origin.
Evidence of alternative citizenship.
Original Birth Certificate.
Original Nigerian international passport.
Fee payment receipt as determined by the Mission.
X. Other requirements as determined by the Mission/Ministry

If he did not do all of of these, sorry he is still a Nigerian.
MR SHARIA BARRISTER, "IF", is a conditional statement! So let's assume he did all that, What it means is that all this your epistle now belongs to the dust bin!! grin
What a waste you are!! grin

Kanu was likely illegally kidnapped in Kenya and Umaru Dikod back to Nigeria, the poor sod, but he here now, and his lawyers are incompetent if they think writing to Britain is the way to free him.

Many NIGERIA citizens celebrate the arrest of Kanu because that's their only problem. One NIGERIA is only for the politicians and big men

PoliticsYorubas Are The Problem With Nigeria – Sanusi Lamido Sanusi by Ladumaa(op): 3:10pm On Jun 15, 2021
Yorubas are the Problem with Nigeria – By Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.

i. The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics;
ii. Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; and
iii. The Yoruba Factor and “Area-boy” Politics.

The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention.

For so many years, the Yoruba have inundated this country with stories of being marginalised and of a civil service dominated by northerners through quota system. The Federal Character Commission has recently released a report which shows that the South-West accounts for 27.8% of civil servants in the range GL08 to GL14 and a full 29.5% of GL 15 and above. One zone out of six zones controls a full 30% of the civil service leaving the other five zones to share the remaining 70%. We find the same story in the economy, in academia, in parastatals.

the greatest problem to nation-building in Nigeria are the Yoruba Bourgeoisie. I say this also to underscore my point that until they change this attitude, no conference can solve the problems of Nigeria. We cannot move forward if the leadership of one of the largest ethnic groups continues to operate, not like statesmen, but like common area boys.

iii.The Igbo Factor and the Reasonable Limits of Retribution.

this nation must realise that Igbos have been defeated in war, rendered paupers by monetary policy fiat, their properties declared abandoned and confiscated, kept out of strategic public sector appointments and deprived of public services. The rest of the country forced them to remain in Nigeria and has continued to deny them equity

The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have conspired to keep the Igbo out of the scheme of things. In the recent transition when the Igbo solidly supported the PDP in the hope of an Ekwueme presidency, the North and South-West treated this as a Biafra agenda. Every rule set for the primaries, every gentleman´s agreement was set aside to ensure that Obasanjo, not Ekwueme emerged as the candidate. Things went as far as getting the Federal Government to hurriedly gazette a pardon. Now, with this government, the marginalistion of the Igbo is more complete than ever before. The Igbos have taken all these quietly But the nation is sitting on a time-bomb.

After the First World War, the victors treated Germany with the same contempt Nigeria is treating Igbos. Two decades later, there was a Second World War, far costlier than the first. Germany was again defeated, but this time, they won a more honourable peace. Our present political leaders have no sense of History. There is a new Igbo man, who was not born in 1966 and neither knows nor cares about Nzeogwu and Ojukwu. There are Igbo men on the street who were never Biafrans. They were born Nigerians, are Nigerians, but suffer because of actions of earlier generations. They will soon decide that it is better to fight their own war, and may be find an honourable peace, than to remain in this contemptible state in perpetuity.

The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have exacted their pound of flesh from the Igbos. For one Sardauna, one Tafawa Balewa, one Akintola and one Okotie-Eboh, hundreds of thousands of igbos have died and suffered

If this issue is not addressed immediately, no debate will solve Nigeria´s problems.
