Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 7:29pm On Nov 11, 2008
1. True Christianity to me, is Christ-likeness. It means doing what Christ would do, living by His teaching. He never started "Organised Religion". He is not the "founder" of Christianity. He never advocated "sects". The Early Church wasn't in sects or "denominations". It's just not biblical or Christ-like. Like i've been saying all these sects do not have the same (or even SIMILAR doctrines). God is not the author of confusion. That's not Christ-like (or Christian). I say "sects" and "Christianity" are contradiction in terms because the Church should be the BODY (not bodies) of Christ
This is what the Catholic Church has been saying for centuries. There is only one body and not bodies of Christ, in one body you have unity, under one head, all working together in one belief. You just described the Catholic faith. There was only one body of Christ until Luther started denominations. This is why I continually say the Catholic Church is not a denomination.
When you speak of the early Christians you speak of the Catholic faith, they too are Catholic, they called themselves so. They too are One they called themselves so, they too are Holy they called themselves so, they too are apostolic they called themselves so.
The Church is ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, AND APOSTOLIC. That is how Christ founded the Church.

By the way Christ is the founder of Christianity, and Christianity is a sect, there are not meant to be many sects of Christianity, but Christianity itself is a sect.

word, those "niggers" could also go back to africa too.  you see how ignorant that sounds.  you still haven't shown how homosexuality affects you.
Please do not mistake the civil rights movement for this. Even those who fought in the Civil rights movement have asked the gay rights people not to hijack the civil rights movement.

It is not the same.

Homosexuality is a behavior being black ins't.
Homosexuality is voluntary, being black isn't.

So please they are not the same. Thank you.

because the holy bibeli told you so. now clap for your self. homosexuals have a right to equality. do you know how many benefits they lose by not getting the right to marry??
No, because it is natural. Homosexuality among humans is unnatural.

@ ~Lady~

eeya. I truly feel sorry for you. I honestly feel like i'm harrassing you now, so this is my last post. i promise. your replies have been (mercifully) reduced to whimpering pointless midgets. You seem to be getting off about my education now too. Good for you.
I think YOU urgently need to see a psychiatrist (assuming you are not seeing one already). It's an emergency. I repeat, i never asked you to leave RCC. If for no other reason, as a Roman Catholic apologist you are doing a very good job showing every sane person why they should run away from your "lying" set-up.

Shalom

is this the rule in the whole of the us or just some dioceses?

i know that the particular days of obligations differ from diocese to diocese and country to country.

but this is a new one for me
I believe it's the whole of US. because I travelled to another diocese and it was the same thing there and there's a heavy traditional Catholic population there.

I saw my God daughter for the first time, I will upload pic. Some people think she's my daughter. I uploaded pics on facebook and a friend congratulated me, lol.

I really want to be invested in the confraternity of our lady of Carmel Brown Scapular, but i don't know how to go about it.
I want to know everything about it, the prayers, the rule.

So lady and Carlos do you normally wear the brown scapular.
It's quite easy to join but I recommend it to those who are ready and willing to give up self for the Lord.

Here are the requirements:
1) To wear the scapular continuously
2) To be chaste in one's area of life (single or married)
3) To pray the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary or
With the permission of the priest to pray the rosary everyday or
Observe the fasts of the Church and abstain from meat on Wednesdays and Saturdays or
Do good works continuously, tirelessly.

(the above is from memory, so pls double check)

The first two have no substitutes.

I pray the Little Office because I already pray the rosary everyday anyway, and I try as much as I can to abstain from meat and ofcourse I do good works. For me the prayer is the one that can be difficult at times, it has seven hours to it and school and work sometimes gets in the way, but I make time.

To get invested, you have to buy a scapular, it must be wool, and then take it to a priest and tell him your intentions and during mass he'll invest you into it. It should come with paper that has all the instructions.

Mine came with a St. Benedict medal and a crucifix.

Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 9:08pm On Oct 30, 2008
That passion was 2000yrs ago. Too many people "remembering Christ's passion" but completely missing the whole essence of that passion at all. Catholics don't believe in being Born Again . . . a clear concept Christ taught in John 3 and yet cry about remembering passions. What a waste of time.
Uh wrong we do believe in being born again. We have a rebirth in baptism.

Baptism

Because of original sin, we are born without grace in our souls, so there is no way for us to have fellowship with God. Jesus became man to bring us into union with his Father. He said no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is first born of "water and spirit" (John 3:5) - this refers to baptism.

Through baptism we are born again, but this time on a spiritual level instead of a physical level. We are washed in the bath of rebirth (Titus 3:5). We are baptized into Christ's death and therefore share in his Resurrection (Rom 6:3-7).

Baptism cleanses us of sins and brings the Holy Spirit and his grace into our souls (Acts 2:38, 22:16).
And the apostle Peter is perhaps the most blunt of all: "Baptism now saves you" (1Peter 3:21). Baptism is the gateway into the Church.

Look I have told you many times to please know what the Church teaches before you start passing a verdict on it. I would have more respect for you if you actually know what you're standing against.

Are we back to 101 questions? Is it too hard to say you have no answer to a question? and what's "some" RCC charismatics? Even the Rcc charismatics are sectionalised? lol lol lol.
I should get my money back for failing to answer your stupid irrelevant question? you're so laughably pathetic.
Is this your way of saying that you will be asking for your money back from your educationhuh

Kindly point out where i as much as hinted that you should leave the RCC, please. The topic says you guys are idol worshippers and i've stuck with that line of reasoning. maybe wandered a bit, but never told you how (or who) to worship. I never asked you to stop doing the idolatory. you are the one who has repeatedly tried to lump me with you "christians".
i said it before, whatever makes you happy, do it. You can go back and check.Sister, enjoy ok. stay loose
lying isn't good. go back and read your posts. you know what you said and where you said it, if you don't remember go to a doctor you might have amnesia.

I just did my consecration to Jesus and Mary. The class was enriching. The confraternity of Mary Queen of All Hearts is really good for every catholic to belong to, If you go through the class with full devotion to the Holy slavery.

how is a member here?
Congratulations. It makes me happy to see people who take the faith seriously and devote themselves to Love God and serve Him.

I am not a member, I am invested in the confraternity of Our Lady of Carmel Brown Scapular. It is a powerful testimony I tell ya.

seun is now a catholic, he supports Catholics. He created this forum because of the love he has for Catholics and Christians as a whole. You out there why don't you do the same knowing that Jesus Is Lord FOREVER. Saviour of Mankind.
huh huh When did Seun become Catholic.
But anyway AMEN @ Jesus Is Lord FOREVER. Saviour of Mankind.

Welcome back Lin, I might be gone for the weekend, but I will definitely find the gist, lol.

Tomorrow marks the end of the October devotion and we are closing it with Adoration mass, then praise and worship, but i won't be able to attend it and it's going to be wonderful. I have a great testimony this month of October.

Saturday i think is the feast of All Saints, a holiday of obligation. No one should miss mass o!
Lol, absolutely not. Me sef dats travelling I made plans to attend mass. Funny enough in the U.S. it isn't observed generally, it is still a holy day, but it isn't a day of obligation, they decided that if a holy day falls on a saturday then it isn't observed. I don't like that idea, so I'm still going anyway. I mean it's saturday people should be able to go to mass.

You just keep going round and round. It's dizzying. Are RCC Charismatics Roman Catholics or not? If RCC is "the church", where do they fit in when you say there should be no differing beliefs in "the church"?
A man opens his mouth and say that he is a Christian but he doesn't believe in Christ, will you still consider him a Christian?
If you can answer this question you would have answered your own question about some RCC Charismatics.

If you cannot answer the question then I would advice you get the money back that you paid for your education.

When you say the "fundamentals" are the same. The Early Church and RCC, what proofs do you have?
History and the Bible.

what "fundamentals"? the Papacy? the statues
Yes. It has always been there.

the practical deification of Mary?
This is not our belief.

the election of a "pope"?
Yes.

the observance of Ash Wednesday and Good Friday and other equally bizarre, outlandish "days"?
Forgive us for remembering Christ's passion.

You sound like Mccain. The RCC bears no resemblance to Early Christianity. But you'll come back with the same mantras you've been reciting. Now, i understand why no one else bothers with you. Anyway, like it or lump it, RCC ain't Biblical IN ANY WAY. You aren't even trying to prove that it is, you manage to show why it isn't.
Thanks for your opinion unfortunately for you it doesn't change the truth. You can be in denial all you want, that's not my problem.

And please, don't even presume to tell me how to worship. Thanks for the effort. Just let me be. Na me and God sabi.
Well if this isn't hypocrisy at its best, why are you telling me how to worship. If I chose to worship in the RCC how does that affect you? Will you die for it? Will you go to hell for it?
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 8:46pm On Oct 28, 2008
This statement of Jesus Christ answers a lot of questions about how we can address issues about the veneration of Mary and whether Mary remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus or did she consumate her marital vows.

"Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside asking for you." He said in reply, "Who are my mother and my brothers? and gazing around Him at those seated in the circle He continued, "These are my mother and my brothers. Whoever does the will of God is brother and sister and mother to me" (Mark 3:31-35).
On the contrary. This passage doesn't address the issue. If so then the Bible is contradictory.
This passage first of all doesn't insinuate that Mary was no longer a virgin, as in the aramiac language there is no word for cousin therefore everyone is called brother and sister. For example in the Gospel according to John (I believe that's the right one) at the crucifixion present in the scene is Mary the mother of Jesus and her sister Mary the wife of clopas, and Mary Magdalene. Now that passage calls Mary the wife of Clopas Mary the Mother of Jesus' sister. Does that mean that they both came from the same womb or that they both have the same father? No but they were called sisters, it wouldn't make sense also because they both have the same name. What family gives siblings the same name? This is also an indication that the "brothers and sisters" spoken of were children of the other Mary, Mary the wife of Clopas who is Mary the Mother of Jesus' sister.

Second the part about Whoever does the will of God is brother and sister and mother to me, well that doesn't disclude Mary, it includes her all the same. And in case you don't know Catholics also believe in veneration of saints, (yes those who do the will of God are saints) but there are those whom we know are in heaven by evidence.

All we say is that for the mere fact that she gave birth to God and that God himself honoured her, she should be honoured.

Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 8:31pm On Oct 23, 2008
I'm talking about the RCC charismatics in "disunity of belief" with mainstream RCC.
If they are not in unity they are not a part of us.

Then why presume to use today's meaning of christian to define me?
Because today's meaning of Christianity is the same as then. There will be those who try to change it or who misuse it, but Christianity has not changed. The fundamentals are still the same.

You may pretend not to know that by RCCians, i mean Roman catholics. It's ok. i understand your discomfort caused by my question. but i'll repeat it again: Following your logic, Christ is RCC. Question: still following your logic, why weren't the apostles called Roman Catholics?
I have no discomfort, I dey kampe. They actually were, truly the name is not Roman Catholic, and infact it isn't a name. I'm seriously trying to find the best way to explain it to you, but Catholic is a description of the Church founded by Christ. We are not just Catholic, we are One, we are Holy, we are Apostolic. These are the four descriptions of the Church, the true name in all essence is THE CHURCH as in the body of Christ.

So the apsotles were called that, actually the first record (this is not to say that before it was written down it wasn't used) was in 100 A.D. and even at that time the term Catholic was something old and not new, so that means that even while the apsotles were alive they were Catholic, they were One, they were Holy, and they were Apostolic.
That is also the reason why I say we are not a denomination. We are simply put THE CHURCH. Denominations were not supposed to be there, it is against the teaching of Christ. Reading the Bible and coming up for yourself what Christ's teachings are is against the teaching of Christ and the apostles. THE CHURCH IS ONE IN BODY, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE DIFFERING BELIEFS, that includes you shouldn't be a christian on your own and not in union with anyone. You are not just in unionwith Christ but you are in union with those on earth and in heaven and those who are getting purged from their sins in purgatory (not necessarily a place as in heaven or hell, and not necessarily for the dead)

Lady,
that short passage was not meant to diss Mary. Jesus would never have done that, He being strictly brought up under the Jewish Law.
What Jesus was telling the old woman was that focus or veneration or undue adulation was not meant for His mother. The focus of God's children should be on God alone and it is those who obey God that are blessed. Jesus didn't bless Mary more abeg o (whip out the scriptural references for saying that He blessed her more). Look at that passage again dear, it says ', YEA, RATHER, '
If that woman had had her way i.e. in form of religious-political power, she may have deified Mary at a much earlier time. I find it funny that Jesus being the owner of the mama never gave instructions to deifiy, venerate, 'honour' as you Catholics want to be politically correct, nor did He do any of such or even tell Mary to bless / pray for christians on His behalf , yet mere mortals like you and I who were never connected with her ,can pass a law for her veneration, adulation and 'honour'.
So did Mary hear the word of God and disobey? If she is not included in that passage then she must have disobeyed right?
My statement was in no way saying that Mary should be deified, that's the problem you all think that we hold Mary as a deity when we do not, so in essence you only reiterate Catholicisms beliefs.
When you all start recognising that Catholicisms is not honouring Mary as a deity then your minds will be at rest.
She deserves honour and rightfully so, or don't you think so?
But she can neer be God, plain and simple. If you all want to continue to think that we treat Mary as a god then that's your own palave, but we do not.

AND also what is wrong with Jesus blessing his mother the more, maybe you should have read my post very well when I said that Mary is considered even more blessed as a disciple of Christ than she is as his Mother. That is in no way elevating her the more, but only saying that she was obedient to God's word.

If she was already blessed as being God's mother, then won't that be that she is even more blessed as his disciple?

it IS funny. i'm sorry if i offend anyone. but where are their brains? so anyone can wake up any day and make another human being "immaculate"?
Yet you as a human are here determining who can and cannot be saved, who died and made you god?

Speaking of the meaning of words, check this out:
Matt 16:18- That thou art Peter <Petros>, and upon this rock <petra> I will build my church <ekklesia>; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it . (KJV)
I'm glad you brought it up. The words spoke by Christ was aramaic. The original word is kephas (I believe that's the right spelling) meaning rock, but when written in greek it needed to be translated. The word Petra is a female word, therefore the word Petros was used instead because it wouldn't have made any sense calling Peter Petra as if he was a woman. It certainly would have caused even more confusion to have people thinking that Peter was a woman.
But truly the word rock is meant to be used for peter.

@Chris , Anything that Denies Jesus, and makes a mockery of what He did on the cross

is indeed SATANIC
pheww well then thank God the Catholic Church does not deny Christ and only teaches what he has taught and revealed to us.

Sweeetie it is your own interpretation that is wrong and not ours.

you people are wasting your time. If you notice Lady NEVER hedges her "arguments" with the bible.
Yet i am the only one who quotes the Bible AND interprets it, rather than quoting and running away like a coward, and when asked to interpret bring up something completely random.

[Please do./quote]

Absolutely.
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 8:38pm On Oct 21, 2008
27And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

28But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Absolutely.

Mary is even more blessed as a disciple of Christ than she is as his mother. She too kept to the commandments of God and she too did the will of God. When she heard the word of God, she did not go against it. Unfortunately people think that the passage was Jesus dissing Mary when infact he was only blessing her the more.
If the passage was in anyway dissing Mary then there would be a contradiction in the Bible when Elizabeth called her blessed, when the angel called her full of grace, and when Mary said she will be called blessed by all generations.

So that passage includes Mary in it. The question to ask oneself is "Did Mary hear the word of God and keep it?" if the answer is yes, did Christ not bless her the more?

Well to me he did. This passage blessed Mary even more.

1Cor. 15:21For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
So what did Eve do, just stand there and watch Adam bring condemnation into the world?

I don't run and hide, i merely ignore them just like everyone else does. to be frank, with the exception of myself or Carmelilly, no one else pays any attention to much of the bile you post and its been said 10x over. People do respond to Omenuko . . . you might want to go take a good look at your self.
LOL. Look insulting me does nothing, just simply prove me wrong. Answer the questions.

what truth? That Mary is "our mother"? Enjoy ur biblically false "truth".
YES!!!! If she is the Mother of Christ and the Church is the body of Christ, she is Our Mother. When Christ gave her to his beloved disciple he gave her to all disciples. John's name was not mentioned strategically, instead disciple was used.
Look everything in the Bible is done strategically and not just for nothing. SO you better start thinking about the Bible that you read. The why, the how, the when, the what.

When I first heard of the doctrine of the Immaculate conception I thought that they referred to the conception of our Lord Jesus Christ but then the RCC proved me wrong when they ascertained their dogma that it was referring to "the virgin Mary" Luke 1:46-47 disproves the theory of the immaculate conception or the total absence of original sin in Mary as taught in the RCC. If God was her Saviour then she must have been a sinner in order to be saved. Mary had already admitted that she needed a Saviour and in obedience she brought her sin offering according to the Jewish tradition of mothers, which was two turdledoves to the temple (Lev.12:6-8; Lk.2:21-24).
Oga please abeg learn what the Immaculate conception is before you speak. Yes the Immaculate conception speaks of Mary as being saved and kept from all sin at the moment of her conception as God himself cannot dwell in corruption.

Did Elizabeth not call Mary the Mother of her Lord? Do you know what word was used for Lord there? How did we know it is not just some regular Lord? The same way that we know that when Christ spoke I AM he used the terms used by the Jewish people to identify God. The word Lord used is "ADONAI" which is what the Jews used to identify God, if Elizabeth called her the Mother of God, how can you then say she isn't the Mother of God?

Maybe you need to learn that the Bible was not written in English and it wasn't written in our times. So the meaning of words are not the same.

Why don't you actually learn your Bible before you start speaking?

How did Rome miss all of this? Why claim you follow Peter as your “Rock” yet ignore his teachings? Did Peter teach or practice these traditions?
First of all, your facts are wrong. Second yes Peter practiced them, we know this because we know Peter. Where is your own history?
How do you know Peter? By the way the letters in the Bible aren't the only ones that were written by Peter so where are the other ones and why don't you hold it as scripture?

But since you're at it, don't forget that the Bible was compiled in 393 AD by the RCC, add that to your list o.
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 9:33pm On Oct 17, 2008
Someone else brought this up earlier, your posts are full of man's fallible "wisdom" and very little to do with the gospel at all. According to man's wisdom, a church can only last as long as you have a "leader"?
I happened to have missed this but are you saying that there shouldn't be a leader? And if so, what would that make Christ, the non-leader?

another long meaningless epistle. If anyone can make sense of it please help.
Notice how when these "epistles" are written, you run and hide under the "can someone make sense of this" because you know it's true.

You will surface again in your deceit somewhere else. As usual. One day you will come to a dead end, and you will have no choice but to face the truth. SO you better stop running and stop being a coward.

its obvious you have'nt been reading your bible, where is the love when god in the bible kills and orders people to kill, steal, rape and enslave each other? where is the love? god in the bible ordered people to murder each other and you are here talking about love? where is the love?
It is obvious that you have been reading the Bible out of context and out of time. Those are books written for a particular place and time and in a certain context. You must not forget that God is a God of justice.

That is not true, their bible is different from yours, theirs contain additional books
actually theirs contain less books but carry on. i got your point.
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 9:09pm On Oct 17, 2008
This is Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
This wasn't the passage I was talking about, but thanks for showing it, it only supports my point. And yes you just made a big fool of yourself.

Carmelilly spoke about this earlier but it seems you prefer to tie your ankles around your own unbelief. There is a difference between being "organised" and "organised religion" as we have it today. Timothy was "ordained" to minister to the greeks right from when he was not yet a teenager . . .
Just as similarly as the Lord would pick men who followed Him in their hearts in the old testament so it was with the new testament christians.

The new testament church ordained apostles, pastors, teachers, bishops, helpers . . . nowhere do we see them "ordaining" nuns, celibate priests (actually EVERY CHRISTIAN is a priest unto the Lord), popes and the other nonsense.
Lol, are you secretly a catholic because you are showing us support here. First you all come up and say there's no such thing as apostolic succession and then you come show that there is. Do you know where you stand on the issues?

Nuns aren't "ordained" Paul was celibate and he was "ordained" and they all were celibate unless they were married before "odination"

Sweetheart, why don't you go learn the history of yor beliefs first before you start.

Where in the bible did the apostles appoint an ambassador for Christ?
It wasn't the apostles it was Christ himself.

Yet more nonsense . . . EVERY CHRISTIAN has the power to bind and loose too. This false power of the pope cannot have come from the same bible we read . . . oh sorry you don't even read it at all or you would have seen this - Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

What power then has the pope that you as a christian do not have? What "decisions" is he making on your behalf? did you read Matthew 18:19? It says if ANY TWO OF YOU shall agree on earth as touching ANYTHING, it shall be done unto you . . . so what is the role of the pope now?

You know, reading the above i lost complete interest in exposing the rest of your heresy.

You might want to pick a copy of the bible and start prayerfully reading it . . . will serve you better than just foaming in the mouth about "questions". Its apparent you really are not saved by grace.
You may have not noticed that Christ was talking to the disciples and when he was saying so he didn't give to them the keys to the kingdom of heaven as he gave it to Peter. Why didn't he give the keys to them, why did Peter alone receive the keys?

Simply quoting the Bible without fully interpreting it in the context it is written does no good. The devil quoted the Bible too and he did it out of context just as you do.

don't be obtuse. Did you see the answers to ALL your questions?

The very same answers you used as a spring board for the litany of unbiblical garboil you just posted are the "answers" you are still asking for? My dear, having lunch at the moment is a far better idea than to sit down to try and make sense of much of the stomach-churning spiritual illiteracy we have to put up from you on a daily basis.

Has it occured to you that a lot of people are fed up with you?
Did you not see the I responded to all of them?

Simply attacking me does nothing to spread the gospel, you have stated that it is your goal, how does personal attacks on me solve anything?
You can call me whatever I don't care, I will be here and I will continue. So you might as well quit with the personal attacks and start facing the issues John McCain.

And no they're not, they want me to keep going, they're getting the truth and are tired of being fed with your deceit.

Rubbish! The saved christian is also "full of grace" - Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
What is full of grace?

Not every Christian is full of grace, if we all are why do we still ask for grace?

We are also blessed - Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
So that means that Mary shouldn't be blessed. I mean what's your logic.

And pray where was she when the apostles went about preaching the word in season and out of season? Did they forget the Lord's "mother"?
She was with them especially John. Mary also died early on. Infact before the gospels and the epistles were written. But we do know definitely that she was with them when the Holy Spirit descended upon them.

They honoured her just the same way the bible enjoins us to honor our parents. Certainly not the same way you "honor" her. Anywhere those same band of travelling disciples asked her to intercede to Christ on their behalf? Have you read the epistles of James, Peter and John? These men who went to the mount of transfiguration certainly know a thing or two that you are sadly unaware of.

continue posting meaningless and factless tomes.
You do not know the way "I" honour her. How do you know they didn't ask her, were you there? Are all the things they did written down?
I actually know about them and you do not, so please don't insult them thank you.

They didn't write everything down but because we guard all they taught us and because we know our history we know their attitude towards her and just as we honour her, so did they.
You may want to search for the early church writings.

Jesus honoured Mary because in the same bible, He tells us to honor our father and mother that it may be well with us.

He would be a liar and a hypocrite for dishonoring Mary.

It doesnt translate into anything spectacular.

I sometimes wonder why Mary is never mentioned in all the epistles, when her memory was still so fresh. That's significant
She was dead when they were written, and because she isn't God and the world does not revolve around her, it is of no use having a Marian epistle. Mary is not who you think she is, she isn't a demanding woman, all she does is to the glory of her Son. You on the outside looking in do not understand the teaching of Mary.

The teaching is about honoruing her as we would honour our Parents, but we figure hey she was kept from original sin by grace, and yes that's "full of grace" because the one who was to bear the WORD OF GOD in her womb was not to be tainted by sin or touched by the devil.

Juat as we all have the inclination of original sin and we receive it from our original parents, Jesus would have received it too if Mary was not kept clean from original sin.
His Father is sinless so must his Mother be.

The one who was to be the ark of the WORD OF GOD just as in the Old Testament was to be kept from defilement, that is why she is still a virgin. It would be presumptous of Joseph to have touched her who bore the WORD OF GOD. It would have been an insult to God.

But you can guys seriously make up your minds, one asks if you show us where Jesus honoured we would do the same too, it was shown, and now this one is saying Jesus had to honour her because if he didn't he would have been disobedient.

Well you're right and that's what the point has been all along. Even her own saviour honoured her and you all think she's not important enough.
She was so special that God himself dwelt in her womb, because there was never a time that Jesus' divinity and humanity was separate. If Jesus the divine dwelt in her womb, how then can you dismiss her as everyone else?
If Jesus the divine is the WORD OF GOD and he dwelt in her womb, why can't you see that she is the ark of the New Covenant? Just as the old covenant had an ark so did the new.

These are some of the things I've been trying to get you guys to think about. Mary isn't some random person. God doesn't do things on random.
You don't have to pray, but you don't need to be indifference to her role in our salvation.

It took Mary's "yes" to bring our salvation to the world just as it took Eve's "No" to bring our condemnation. Eve was disobedient, Mary had to undo that disobedience, by obeying the will of God for her.

That's why Jesus had to be born of a woman. It didn't take a man to bring sin into the world, it took a woman and a man. First the woman said "no" to God, then the man, it is only fitting that a woman say "yes" to God and then the man.
In the same order, did you happen to notice that?
Eve said no before Adam said no, Mary said yes before Jesus said yes.

God doesn't do things half way.

what was the answer again? i never asked you any question! i'm beginning to worry for you
Do I need to start quoting you showing the questions you asked and the posts where you asked for answers to questions?

was this number 2 meant for me?
Was it in reply to you?

What exactly are these wrong facts? Catholic priests' pedophilia? the Vatican's active involvement in wars and racism? priests' celibacy? please be specific about my "wrong facts". And when you say "wrong facts" it's a contradiction in terms.
Your so called fact of the Catholic church's introduction of a doctrine of pedophilia, the Vatican's active involvement in promoting wars and racism. Priests celibacy are biblical.

where do RCC charismatics fit into this "unity in belief"?
If they are not in unity with the belief of the Church, they are not in unity with us, even if they call themselves RCC. Now as for the Charismatics, there are those that are in unity with the church and some that do outright contradictory things of the church. Which are you talking about?

Or maybe you just have a stereotype about the church and you are surprised to find charismatics.

I won't attempt to deprive you of your delusions
You should.

Gee! Christ was Roman?? Get serious.
You don't have to be Roman. The name is gotten because St. Peter's See is in Rome.

Did the Early Church refer to itself as "christian"?
Yes.

Did the word "christian" have the connotations it does today back then?
The word christian means followers of Christ or Christ like. The meaning has never changed.

connotations like a fragmented body of people with wildly different beliefs professing the name "Christian"
Maybe you didn't know about the Arians who taught that Jesus is less than God but more than human, the docetism who believed Jesus was fully God and never human, neostorianism, monophytism, and many more.

The defender of the true faith is the Catholic Church. When these people spoke against the truth, the Church usually had a council to truly define the faith, so that random people won't be coming up with their own belief as they were doing.

By the way, if Christ is RCC why weren't the apostles referred to as RCCians? while we're on it, did Christ have a BIBLE? What version?
Lool, there is no such thing as RCCians and yo uknow that, don't be ridiculous. I think the question about Christ's BIBLE should be directed at you instead of me, after all do you not believe in sola scriptura?
Another question do you use the Bible? If so what version?

i am yet to make up my mind on whether to be amazed or amused by this comment. you do not recognise the difference between "organised religion" as in orderly religion and "Organised Religion" as in the world's major faiths?? I honestly hope it was my blunder in not capitalizing the initials that threw u off o.
If we are to go by your category we fall in the lower case organised religion and not your upper case. We just happen to be called the upper case by everyone else. We don't consider ourselves, just a regular religion in today's terms. Please don't use today's general meaning of terms to define us.

opinions like pedophilia, warmongering etc? I must be pretty influential to get world media and even the pope himself to accept my "opinions" as "facts".
You still haven shown me official church doctrine that says that pedophilia is accepted, time magazine does not constitute as a doctrine. You made an article your opinion on doctrine. Find out more about the wars and you would know the truth. The Church is always against wars that are unjust, such as the war in Iraq. And we did not partake in hitler's war, we actually helped thousands of jews find shelter in the vatican, and we have a lot of priests and nuns that were killed in concentration camps trying to help others. It amazes me how you think that someone who was so anti vatican, anti pope, anti catholicism, and anti-God would get help from the Pope.

So ma'am your facts are nothing but your opinions.
Christianity EtcRe: Roman Catholic Is Not A Church, But A Modernised Way Of Idolatry? by Lady2(f): 8:05pm On Oct 17, 2008
1) Did Jesus give the Keys to the Kingdom of heaven to Peter or not? - What "keys"?
The simple answer would be yes or no. WHEN YOU STOP BEING A COWARD AND START ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS, THEN YOU CAN GET SOMEWHERE.

As usual you don't answer the question.
I guess when Christ was saying this he was lying abi.

Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

What keys? The keys to the kingdom of heaven. What was Jesus saying in that passage?

2) What are the keys to the kingdom of heaven? -Are they physical "keys"?
How does this answer my question. Did you tell me anything about the keys to the kingdom of heaven? When will you stop being a coward.

At no time did Christ ever choose a  "leader" among the disciples. Read Christ's response when the mother of the sons of Zebedee asked that her sons be leaders . . . what of the disciple Christ loved the most? It certainly wasnt peter. James "fed the sheep", Paul, Timothy, John, Andrew, Philip all did . . so who is now the "leader"?
Wrong after giving Peter the name of Rock and telling him that he would build his Church on that Rock (Peter) he told Peter three times "FEED MY LAMBS" "TEND MY SHEEP" "FEED MY SHEEP" John 21:15-17. Christ did not found a Church that was to have no leader on earth. He didn't leave them all to fend for themselves.

Well seeing that they all answered to Peter and that Peter was the one that always spoke on behalf of everyone and when he spoke they all listened, I believe that signifies leadership. Or do you have a different understanding of what leadership is?

Peter means "rock". Abraham's name also changed, ditto for Jacob . . . where are their own "keys"?
When will you start answering the questions oga? The name changes are respective to their roles given to them. Abraham was to mean the father of nations and Jacob's was changed to Isreal the nation of God, Isreal produced the nation of God (the 12 tribes of Israel) Peter's means rock on which Christ builds his Church.

According to the bible, every spirit-filled christian has the power to lay hands and impart the Holy Spirit unto others . . . Read John 1 before behaving like John McCain
1) John 1 does not say that Every spirit filled Christian has the power to lay hands and impart the Holy Spirit. Don't add jara into it.
2) Going by the actions of the apsotles they laid hands on people before they sent them out as apostles. This is very evidenced in acts of the apostles even when there were some "Spirit - filled" Christians preaching, the apostles had to send apsotles to correct the errors of "Spirit-filled" Christians.
Acts 15: 22-25
22 Then the apsotles and prebyters, in agreement with the whole church, decided to choose representatives and to send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. The ones chosen were Judas, who was called Barsabbas, and Silas, leaders among the brothers.
23 This is the letter delievered by them: "The apostles and the prebyters, your brothers, to the brothers in Antioch, Syrai, and Cilicia of Gentile origin: greetings.
24 Since we have heard that some of our number who went out without any mandate from us have upset you with their teachings and disturned your peace of mind.
25 we have with one accord decided to choose representatives and to send them to you along with our beloeved Barnabas and Paul.

I'm sure those without a mandate were "filled with the Spirit" too.

Look sir it is full in the New Testament that apostolic succession is needed.

1 Timothy 4:14
Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you throught he prophetic word with the imposition of hands of the presbyters.

Notice it wasn't random people who were "filled with the Spirit" that imposed hands.

2 Timothy 1:6
For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.

Notice that Paul had to impose his hands on Timothy who was to take over Paul's office as a minister.

2 Timothy 4:1-6

Paul charges Timothy with his office as he says

1 I charge you in the presence of God and Chrit Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearance and his kingly power:
2 proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.
3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiousity, will accumulate teachers
4 and will stop listening to the truth and be diverted to myths.
5 But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelists; fulfill your ministry.

Notice he also said there wil be a time people will not tolerate sound doctrine. I think he was about you.

Now I can go on and on and on showing you in he Bible that the apostles believed in apostolic succession.

The apostles said no such thing and certainly NEVER meant "tradition" in the unbiblical, evil way ur church uses it.
You wanna bet?

Here's my favorite

1 Timothy 6:20

O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you.

Oga there are many more. The traditions you speak of are made up in your mind and are not in the Church. You know nothing of the Church's tradition.

God spoke through Balaam's ass.
So did God dwell in balaam's ass?

It means "full of grace".
If an American asks you what is ogbonno soup, will your answer to him be "ogbonno soup" how then is he supposed to know what ogbonno soup is.
ANSWER THE QUESTION. THE QUESTION CANNOT BE THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION OR DID THEY NOT TEACH YOU THAT IN SCHOOL?

No
Then how come according to you, Mary gave birth to the human Jesus and not the divine Jesus if his divinity and humanity were never separate?

You simply repeated ques 11 and added "ever" twice.
I know the second ever was to emphasize the first ever, I should have put it in bold.

Fallacy. You can't be using a ques to formulate another. By this warped logic, Balaam's ass is the donkey of God.
No, God never dwelt in balaam's ass, you're comparing apples and oranges here.

It raises no such serpentine "question" because it was simply fulfillment of prophecy, something that another poster has exhaustively dealt. Go read it.
No that poster simply did the old routine of "you can't ask such questions" when they couldn't comprehend and come up with an answer.
I know it is a fulfillment of a prophecy, but why did God have that prophecy to be of a woman. He could have equally dropped from the sky or just showed up as God has done before (when he appeared to Abraham as his guest) and then brought about salvation. Why did the prophecy have to be Jesus being born of a woman? Why couldn't the prophecy have just been that God would create a New Adam (which is who Jesus is) from the dirt and breathe in his nostrils. After all it would have had the same outcome. Jesus would be human as Adam was human, and he would be sinless because God didn't create Adam to be sinless, and he would have still died.
So why not go that way?

Because prophecy had to be fulfilled as spoken by old testament prophets - "unto us a Child is BORN!
But why that prophecy? Why isn't the prophecy that he would create a New Adam as he did the other?

Same as ques 22.
It is question 22. And the question was different. Here it is again: 22) If Elizabeth called Mary the Mother of "Adonai" wouldn't it mean that she was calling Mary the Mother of God, or was "Adonai" used to call other lords?

Show us where Christ or the disciples considered her worthy of honor and praise and it sufficeth us.
I won't just show you Christ's and the disciples, I will show you the angel and elizabeth too.

Luke 1: 28 And coming to her he said, "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you."

Luke 1: 42" Most blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

John 2:3-7
Mary asks Jesus for wine and he honoured her petition and turned water into wine.

He handed her over to his most loved disciple as his mother at the foot of the cross.

Now unless you're trying to say that Jesus and his disciples dishonoured Mary.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Satan Really As Bad As Christians Make Him Out To Be? by Lady2(f): 6:47pm On Oct 17, 2008
Some people ask why does evil exist and why doesn't God just get rid of him.

Well evil exists because we allow it to exist. People do evil things not God. When God pnishes people it is called Justice. When a murderer takes a life, do we say we forgive therefore you are free to go? Absolutely not. He has to pay his dues.
It is called justice.
God is of love and justice, he isn't a pushover. You can't do wrong and expect him to just turn a blind eye.
So you're wondering why God punished people in the Old Testament, it's because they were doing wrong. You don't reward someone doing bad.

People make choice that causes evil on others. When bombs are dropped God doesn't drop them, when guns are shot God doesn't fire them. People do that. So start taking responsibility for the evils of this world instead of blaming it on God.
God gave us brains to use to come up with solutions to the problems we face, instead of using that a lot of you use your brain to blame God. Why don't you come up with a solution to poverty? Why don't you come up with a solution to our dying society? When Christians are trying to do so, the rest of you raise up alarms on us. You don't realise it's all for our good. You're trying to be lawless, without laws everyone will kil each other and do whatever they want. But you all don't think of it like that. No you see God as a hinder to all the atrocious things you want to do.

God gave us hearts to love. When he says the greatest commandments is to love him and love our neighbours, he wasnt lying. If we all loved, we wouldn't hurt and evil will no longer exist. SO insttead of attacking God why not start loving all you meet. Why not show love by lending a helping and and coming up with a solution to the world's problems after all we have the brains for it.

God isn't the evil one here, it is humans and the devil that gets to humans.

Ebos we are all dying to hear from you, please can you drop some words for us

Lady i'm so happy for you, testimonies have started coming in this month of our Blessed Mother, that is to show that we don't call on our Mother in vain, it has never been heard of that anyone who calls on her go empty handed.

Carlos hope the work load is coming down gradually
Thank you. I just pray that more people will receive graces from Our Lord through Our Mother's intercession, maybe then they can understand a mother's love and her strong connection to her child.

Saint of the Day
St. Ignatius of Antioch (d. 107?)

Born in Syria, Ignatius converted to Christianity and eventually became bishop of Antioch. In the year 107, Emperor Trajan visited Antioch and forced the Christians there to choose between death and apostasy. Ignatius would not deny Christ and thus was condemned to be put to death in Rome.
Ignatius is well known for the seven letters he wrote on the long journey from Antioch to Rome. Five of these letters are to Churches in Asia Minor; they urge the Christians there to remain faithful to God and to obey their superiors. He warns them against heretical doctrines, providing them with the solid truths of the Christian faith.

The sixth letter was to Polycarp, bishop of Smyrna, who was later martyred for the faith. The final letter begs the Christians in Rome not to try to stop his martyrdom. "The only thing I ask of you is to allow me to offer the libation of my blood to God. I am the wheat of the Lord; may I be ground by the teeth of the beasts to become the immaculate bread of Christ."

Ignatius bravely met the lions in the Circus Maximus
He is one of my favorite saints if not my favorite.
