Hell is a fabrication.The concept of hell is something that was created in the hearts and minds of the authors of your Bible and Koran. Before you were informed of what and where hell was, it never crossed your mind to even think about it. So, within the pages of your scriptures hell was born. Just as a God could not exist without the devil, heaven could not exist if there wasn’t a hell.So where did hell come from? It didn’t exist in Adam’s, Noah’s, nor Abraham’s time. It is something that was fabricated so that they could capitalize off of your fear.from this reasoning, everything is a fabrication. no one is born with the knowledge of how to speak english, you are informed of it. no one is born with the understanding of health, you are informed of it. no one is born with the knowledge of brushing your teeth, you are informed of it. no one is born with knowledge, everyone is informed of something, if your statement holds true, then everything is a fabrication. there was hell in the time of adam, and abraham, and noah. |

I do laugh when you as well as your fellow Christians and other non muslims 'throw stones' when issued is being discussed, forgetting to go through history before doing the attack.It is one thing if an act is committed by a person and another if the persons religion advocates it. Just because a christian woman did it doesn't mean that christians condone it or that christianity calls for it. this isn't what christianity calls for. the difference is that islam advocates such practices and christianity does not. another thing, i stated it in my above post, it is good to know history so that you do not end up back there. basically you actually progress as time continues, you don't continue with practices because that's what used to happen. if that is the case, then slavery should still be around, after all it is something that happend in history. should slavery still be condoned because it is something that happened in history or because it may still be happening somewhere else in the world? |
Muslims do not think like Christians and generally do not accept ideas that have a christian origin. It is unfortunate that young girls are born into Islam in Nigeria ( I doubt if this practice happens in the Mid East ) and have to go through this as early as 10 or 11. I do not understand why the men can't wait till they are old enough to make their own choice for a husband. It is just selfishness, greed and poverty that causes this (I don't think Rich people do this). It has nothing to with Islam but the shameless Nigerian interpretation of Islam.ok this is really funny, because at first the "marrying young girls" thing is the culture of the middle east that is inserted into islam, now it's the culture of northern nigeria that is inserted into islam. there are american muslims that i trying to marry their daughters off. they can't legally do it, but hey if person no talk who go know? please this isn't a culture thing, if that is the case, then the whole world have the same culture. and we all know that it isn't true. so this is not something in culture alone, it is in islam period. @ babs787 does that make it right? not too long ago slavery was the norm so we should go back to it? incase you haven't noticed, the chinese do not hold much regard for human life, these are people that will cook a new baby to improve their sexual libido, so they are not exactly supposed to be used as role models in this issue. times have improved and as civilization grows we get a better understanding of human life development. things that were done back in the day were done at a particular time for a particular reason, and because of the ignorance of people things continued that way. but as we learned more we matured into better thinking. I am not one to start speaking of muhammad as a pedophile as I understand that in his day this was the norm and that because of ignorance of what we now know about the human body and mind. However today such practices shouldn't be allowed because we understand the mental and emotional damage it can cause. If motgherhood is just about producing babies then everyone would be capable of being a mother. But we know that this isn't true. Motherhood is much more than just popping one out. A mother has to nurture the child and care for the child's needs, and raise the child to be a responsible adult in society. these needs include education, food, shelter, and more. How can a mother provide such things if she cannot fend for herself? It would be even more understandable if these young girls are getting married to younger men, no they're marrying an old man who will probably die the next day out of old age, what is she supposed to do then? she has no education and trade. all she knows to do is produce a child. The excuse is generally that the man will provide as he is supposed to, well studies show that the man doesn't always provide and that islamic law gives him the upper hand. Seriously all he has to do is divorce her. When he thinks times are hard and he doesn't want to fend for her, he can simply say I divorce you, and she's gone. what is she supposed to do? or do you think that muslim men are perfect and that they won't do that? how can you think so when islamic law allows for men to simply dump women and move to the next? to totally get rid of her if he feels she'll be a threat to him, he can accuse her of adultery, at which point she'll be stoned to death because a man's voice is more important than the woman's voice. We are not living in history we are living in today's society and these muslim societies are not in a remote country somewhere, they are in countries where modern civilation has touched. they need to be able to provide for themselves. these marriages should not be condoned and they should be outlawed. |

Please give me reasons as to why Christians in ethiopia do not agree to this concept of the trinity if it is not the doing of the catholic church which the reformation could not really shake?Ok I am trying to understand why you would think that because the ethiopian christians don't believe in the trinity, therefore the trinity must not be true. Have you heard of heresy? DO you seriously think that the ethiopian christians are the only ones that were lost on the trinity? Do you know why it is the word trinity was used to define the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? It's not because we just needed something to do. It's because people were beginning to come up with different beliefs on Jesus and a lot of people became confused. So to put an end to it, the Church defined the Trinity as it actually is to dispell any heresies, not that it worked. Could it be that the ethiopian christians do not understand just as you do not? It is not a concoction by the Catholic faith, it has always been there. It just became defined for our understanding and to get everyone on one accord as we should be. |

FGGC Abuloma ~ we had this revival with some pastor, he said that we had witches in the school and that some of them were present there. apparently he saw rings on their fingers. he started praying and some girls started screaming. he then said that there are some girls that would be the prayer warriors. he waved his hand and some girls fell to the floor, they were supposed to be the prayer warriors. well i didn't want to be counted as a witch so i immediately fell to the floor too. and we started prayers and i joined it, whereever the witches showed up we were there. sometimes people were seeing them, including myself (na lie, i didn't want to be counted as a witch, so i started seeing witches). anyway it was scary. |
A 7 yr old understands the reality of hell fire and heaven; the difference between vice and virtue but what he wouldn't understand is the gravity of the punishment. i don't even think a 16 year old will understand how serious eternity is.well looking at how some christians behave today 40 year olds and mums and dads don't understand the seriousness of eternity, if htey did dem for don fear since. that is why there can't be a cap. But when it comes to reasoning in this world, age 7 usually does it. the average child should be able to do some form of reasoning, if not get them checked by the doc. |

The verses you quoted can fit quite a lot of interpretations. Purgatory teaches that a sinner is in suspended judgement, and by the intecession of men,he gradually ascends to the place of grace:Heaven. I don't see this teaching in the Bible.See that's the problem people don't even know what they are disagreeing with. This is not purgatory. It would be better if you knew what purgatory is in the first place before you go on disagreeing. Purgatory is where you get detached from sin as sin cannot make it to heaven. So basically it is purification to get you unattached to sin, as in, you are no longer inclined to sin. So if you see a dollar, you won't even think about possibly touching it. It wouldn't even cross your mind. Purgatory as the word implies is purging, as in purification, as in getting away from the inclination to sin. It is always encouraged that we pray for those in purgatory, however, it doesn't mean that if the faithful on earth doesn't pray for them, that they won't see heaven. All souls in purgatory will see heaven. They already have that covenant with Christ. |
Like RHC just told you, doing sumtin will mean you have just repaid an eye for an eye, which is against the principles of christianity and the law of Jesus which is "love everyman as christ loves the church".This is not true, if someone were to do something as say "Run" how does that account to an eye for an eye. How deos it cause hurt the other person if you run. If one prevents an eye from being hurt how does it amount to an eye for an eye when there was no eye hurting in the first place. |

I can easily be reading something about myself that is written and read it verbatum. Now imagine that I just saw the article and I am reading it out loud to my best friend. So I decide to read verbatum. God is a person. This indicates that he has a personality, such as power, love , justice, etc. But God is a spirit person. The word person does not only refer to humans with flesh and blood. The holy spirit is not a person. The scripture has made reference to what God said, what Jesus said, but the scripture never speaks of the holyspirit as saying anything, or reflecting the attributes of God, like Jesus did. The holyspirit is simply Gods power that he uses to accomplish his will, and can infuse this power into people.Does your body and word have minds on their own and do they operate without your brain sending a command to them? There was a point in time in past were Jesus did not exist. Consider this very clear scripture: Colossians 1:15, which refers to Jesus as the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation.Oga Jesus Christ became a creation, but that is not to say that he didn't exist before. In order for something to "become" it had to have had a nature before it became another nature. That's what makes it even more special and even more important, because God himself was willing to suffer himself as creation in order to save his creation. That is profound. That is true and ending love. Actually if I look at my image in the mirror that is me. It is a reflection of myself. Unless you do not understand what a reflection is. When one takes a picture, does that mean that the person in the picture is not one. If it is not one then who is it. How can you image be any different from you. Or is it that you don't know what an image is? Jesus Christ gave us a face to God. He made God visible for us to see. He is the image of the Unknown one. As for scripture please don't try to put your own view in to it. To interpret scripture is to interpret it purely as what it is, instead of making it become what you want it to be. Now you did the typical thing as anyone who wants to distort scripture to their own view, you quoted out of context and interpreted out of context. I really enjoy ur logical point as Jesus been the word of God. U're right to some extent, but don't u think that Jesus is more than just word? The Bible made us 2 understand that Jesus is a Son of God the first creation of God. That made Him a supernatural spiritual person. He Jesus even said that His father is greater than Him. The WORD there means that He is God's spoke man. So a son can not be equal with is father. ThanksWell I am sorry but your knowledge of Jesus Christ is wrong. He is the Word of God made flesh, he is the Son because he is the WORD. There is no hierarchy with being the Word and the Son. It is the same thing. The Son is the Word made flesh. Being word doesn't mean he is less equal. It sounds to me that you want it to be that Jesus and the Father are not equal. Unfortunately we don't always get what we want. So you can want it to be that way but it isn't. Jesus is not just the Son of God he is the Word of God. Just as ~Lady~ is one of the names I am called or descriptions of me. It doesn't make me anyless me. If your name is Emeka Chinonso Igwe, you are Emeka, you are also Chinonso, you are also Igwe. If someone calls you Emeka and another calls you Chinonso, does it say that your name as Chinonso make you any less than your name as Emeka. Or won't you be the same person. A christian should know not to be attached to the world, and should understand that they are not to be of this world, that their eyes should be set on heaven and shouldn't be afraid of those who can hurt the body and not the spirit, but should be afraid of He who can hurt the body and the spirit, God. Can you practice what you preach, can you turn the other cheek?There are plenty of people who do practice what they preach. I for one am not one to seek vengeance, quite frankly it takes too much energy. Now when we are hurt, it is our human nature to want to get revenge, but that's why Christians should rely on God and not on their human thinking. Chris just because there are hypocrites does not mean everyone who is a christian is a hypocrite. And as I have said there is nothing wrong in self-defense. I gave the scenario of what turning the cheek is, so please read it. Jesus is not created but begotten, he became a creation, but he himself is not created. You forget one very impotant fact about Jesus, that he is the Word of God. In saying so this means that Jesus is a part of God, however the Word does not operate until actually spoken. Look at it this way. You are not separate from your word and your word is you, if your word is you how can you be unequal to yourself? However, your word doesn't actually operate until you decide to open your mouth and speak it. The difference between your word and God's Word is that God's Word took human flesh and yours is incapable of taking human flesh. If the holy spirit is a person, how could it poured on people and they get filled with someone. Can a being with a personality be poured on someone.The Holy Spirit is exactly what it is, a Spirit and is not bound to time and space as we are. You are looking at a person as just a flesh, when in fact the person is flesh and spirit (humans). But if the flesh dies the person is still there because the spirit is still there, so basically the flesh is very reliant on the spirit If the holy spirit is a being, could it be more powerful than God the Father, since all miracles works are actually product of the holy spirit?The Spirit is sent by the Father. Jesus categorically stated that regarding the time of the end no one knows the day or hour only almighty God. If they were equal, y would one know something and the other does not?To better understand the Trinity I will use a human to explain it to you. A human is a body, mind, spirit, notice the three, however still one. The body would be Jesus, it goes to the command of the mind, whatever the mind tells it to do it would do, the body does not know what the mind wants it to do until the mind actually tells it to do it. so until you have it in mind that you want to move your leg, your leg won't move. The mind would be the Father, it is where everything comes from, the thought process and all commands. The Spirit is the Holy Spirit. God cannot die, however don't forget that Jesus was also a human being. The body can die, but just because the body dies does not mean that that is the end to that person (remember a person is not just made up of a body). Jesus is a person and not just a body. SO because Jesus is a person and this person is God, God never died. Because this person is God and can give life, he gave life to his body, and resurrected. this is the promise to those who follow christ and are faithful. The word trinity is the definition of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity appears in the Bible, The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit appears in the Bible. We just have a name for all three. So instead of saying Father, Son, Holy Spirit, it is understood as Trinity. Look at it this way, Trinity is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for short. Now I know you are looking for a contradiction in Christianity. It pains you that the truth won't die, I understand that, but you will do well to actually try to understand it and save yourself. So sorry you will never find a contradiction in Christianity. Instead of looking for a contradiction in Christianity, why don't you go and make sure your religion is flawless. The best way to tell those who are insecure is to look at how they treat others. You are insecure in your belief, therefore to make yourself look better you try to make others look worse. Now everytime I have encountered someone who tries to make themselves look good by making Christianity look bad they are muslims. So if you feel that Islam has all the answers then please be secure in yourself and stop trying to find your confidence in Christianity. |
The bible is against christians retaliating and goes further to teach that we should turn the other cheek.First I think your using stephen's death in the wrong way. Second defend yourself, self defense isn't wrong. Turning the other cheek is not seeking revenge. If the muslims kill of your family but yourself don't go seeking revenge. But if they are attacking you in person then defend yourself. Look at it this way, if a muslim northerner is attacking you with a big machete, defend yourself and your family, but if you are unsuccessful in defending yourself, then don't go seeking to kill them for revenge. If they are captured by the law and brought to trial, forgive them, but allow justice to prevail. That is turning the other cheek. |

i am not talking about kids i am talking about the billions of adults who have died without ever hearing about the word jesus christ. . . i have meet some in thialand back in 2006. . . they did'nt understand what i was saying when i told them i was a christain in fact they have never heard of the word christain. . , . . . all of the people i meet in the village that i visited had never heard the name jesus or mohammed. i meet one guy in bangkok who had never heard the word christain, he was the only person in bangkok who had never heard about christainity of all the people i meet in the capital(i interacted with about 20 people in the capital), most of them in the capital just know christainity as just another false religion. . . . . . and they were all buddist. . . . . .will all of them go to hell . . . . . . .for not knowing or believing in jesus?I am not the giver of God's grace but I do know that God gives graces to those who are not Christians, after all it is by God's grace that one becomes Christian. If these people have not heard about Christ, God is not going to punish them for ignorance. You mentioned that there are people in North Korea that are not allowed to believe in God, no one can tell you if you should believe or not in God. Even if it is signed in law. One may not be allowwed to worship and profess their faith in public but they cannot stop one from believing. God can grant graces to muslims too, a lot of them are muslims because that's what they were raised to believe. But if the gospel has been preached to them and they said no to the gospel then they are accountable. But for those that haven't heard the gospel and there are billions then they are not accountable at their death. There are atheists who are good people and God can grant them grace, it is not up to us to decide. As for children. Parents are responsible for their children up until the age of reason. Now for christian families, it is beneficial for the child to be baptised into the christian faith. Our baptism separates us from others. But as the child gets older to the age of reason then the child should profess his/her own faith. For those who speak that child baptism is false, Christ asked us to bring the little ones to him, so who are you to call Christ false for wanting the little ones to come to him, who are you to prevent the little ones from coming to him? If a child is born into a christian home, but never baptised, grows older and decides to become a muslim, was the child ever a christian? No, the child was never a christian, there is no difference between that child and a muslim child that was born to a muslim family, neither one was baptised in Christ. They are both muslims, so the former was never a christian. |

I never said purgatory was implied. I was talking to the lady who said it was. I was wondering why everything else is explicitly taught, but only purgatory is 'implied'purgatory is explicitly taught, the concept of purgatory is in scripture. that is what i am saying, so it is not as you see "implied" it is just as much a concept as trinity is a concept and then defined as trinity by the Church, same thing with purgatory. It is implied as trinity is implied. These two are concepts and they are defined by the Church. You call the concept of FATHER, SON, HOLY GHOST, the Trinity because the Church calls it the Trinity. We call the concept of the life after death for souls that believe in God through Christ, purgatory because the Church calls it purgatory. Same as Trinity. Because you do not understgand it, does not mean it is not real. Now I don't care to do a tit for tat, I have presented Bible verses that support purgatory, now please interpret them, if they do not speak of a purgatory. Please don't be one of those people who accuse the Catholic church of so many things, but when presented with a Bible verse they run around like chickens without heads. All I want is for someone who disagrees with the teachings of the Church to interpret Bible verses posted by us (catholics) and answer the questions we pose instead of calling our questions irrelevant. |
hey new lappy, just greatthanksgiving was great so much to be thankful for. it was my first thanksgiving after my accident. so i really had much to be thankful for. mumsy is great and so is the whole family. i saw my Godson, he is sooo tiny and soooo cute. It seems everyone was missing during the weekend. I do have a request, please pray fo rme, this is the final week for classes and I have a lot of exams. Please raise my intentions to the Lord. I am praying for my mum to return to the Church and for the rest of my family to stay devout and not waver. Please offer up these intentions in particular. It is very dear to my heart. Thank you. Anyway, this is the reason why Sacred Tradition is really important, even thought some people because of their pride refuse to acknowledge it (Not you Chris), but the reason we know who wrote what is because of Sacred Tradition and because these writings were kept and used. They weren't just floating around. The ones that were floating around were the ones that were questioned and not included. So because Catholics (early christians) kept to what was taught to them, they knew who taught what and in what way. Each author has his own style of writing, especially to the people he was writing to. Because we know who these people were talking to and what they talked about and their style of teaching we are able to tell who taught what and where. So the writers of the gospels were very well known. Yeah some people say that the early christians weren't "organised religion" when in fact all the information we know of today was kept well because they were "organised" if they weren't "organised" we wouldn't have the info we have today. plain and simple. someone had to have documented it. their organisation may be different and considered disorganised in our day but in their day they were well organised. If everyone realised what sacred tradition is we'll able to counter people who bring up issues to try to break the faith, and bring up falsifications and non-facts just because they saw it and decided to believe it. Salam Alykun. I still don't get the meaning of this "child thing" No one would give out a woman who has not started her menses out in marriage. Some girls start their period at age 14 or 15 years. Can girls who fall into this category be called "child (ren|)"Have you given any thought to the mental capacity of the girl? You think because a girl has her menses she is automatically capable of being a mother? Even women in their 30s are not capable of being mothers. Simply getting pregnant andpushing a child out does not make one a mother. There are people who never gave birth and I are very much mothers. They adopted, I am like a mother to my siblings. I take care of them and provide for them, financial and emotional support. I have never given birth. SImply popping one out does not make you a mother. |
