First of all WOW!!!!!!!!!

Second to get Lagos better, people need to relocate elsewhere.
The city is overpopulated.
Our problem is that when we hear of one great place, we all rush there looking for bread and butter. This is not the Lagos I saw when I visited before moving to the U.S.
The land mass isn't even enough to hold everyone.

Third, our people need to come up with solutions and charge the government to fulfill the solutions.

Last, can someone please go to Yar'Adua and tell him that arms are not what the Niger Delta people need?
They need jobs and better structure.
Nigeria needs to make the oil companies train and hire the indigenes of Niger Delta, that will help alleviate the problem of unemployment.
Nigeria also needs to charge the companies on cleaning up the spilled oil.
Nigeria should charge the oil companies to fund the building of roads and highways and the upkeep of them.
Nigeria should not allow tankers to roam the streets as if they are regular cars, because they are not, they are dangerous. Because roads and highways are not developed enough for these tankers to raom in the day, they should only roam at night when traffic is at a minimum.
?do the tankers fill up the stations during the day or at night? if during the day, they shouldn't be allowed to do so.
These companies owe Nigeria a great debt and they should pay.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Responsible For Nigeria's Decay? by Lady2(f): 11:07pm On Dec 05, 2007
well this is plain and simple.

the people are to blame.
like Fela said.
we dey fear the thing we no see.
we hardly fight for anything, we blame the leaders.
well guess what? we give them way, we call them "sir" and "madam" and give them the respect they never earned.

It's our damn fault!!!!!
so stop bitching and start a revolution.

EducationRe: Who Heard/read That Education Courses Duration Is Extended? by Lady2(f): 10:58pm On Dec 05, 2007
I applaud it because that extra year won't be spent in the classroom but on the field, It's like clinicals in nursing (I hope that clinicals are included in nursing).
U won't want ur nurse to be working on u without having spent some time practicing.
Why won't u want ur child's teacher to have experience dealing with children in the classroom?

I am all for it.
FamilyRe: My Brother-In-Law And I by Lady2(f): 10:53pm On Dec 05, 2007
@ Poster

What u did was flat out wrong, but even I cannot condemn u.
It's hard to believe that it's just ur smell that attracted ur bro in law and it's hard to believe that the kissing was what made u continue.
Am sure there was an attraction between the bothe of u, so that excuse, please throw it our the door.

What's done is done, now u have to ask God for forgiveness and learn to forgive urself. Then ask God to touch ur husband when u tell him, because u have to tell him. At least with that u can show respect for ur marriage and ur husband. Keeping it from him will only make things worse.

Surrender all to God, and ask for his will to be done. If u truly are meant to be married to ur husband, God will make sure that he helps ur marriage.

Now u in turn have to stay away from sin.

Good luck to u and u are in my prayers.

Crossroads

Thanks for this thread. I currently reside in the U.S. and I've been here for a while now. I've always felt empty here and missed home so much. I already know that this is not where I need to be. I'll be done with my undergraduate degree in 5 months. I plan on coming home to start laying the founation for my life as soon as I graduate. Then I'll return to the states to finish my master's before fully returning home.

I feel the same way as u and want to thank u for this thread.

Does anyone have any advice for me? As far as moving home and starting a career and everything that falls under that umbrella?
CareerRe: Bankers' Forum by Lady2(f): 3:41am On Nov 30, 2007
Why would u accept such loans?
Am sure u have a choice.

Take ur salary and work ur way up from there. You should be able to buy ur own clothes, house, and other things from ur salary, if u take the loans then ur buying from ur salary and it's not their fault.

Generally it's on u, not on them, cause am sure they don't hold a gun to anyone's head.

I really wish u all would have fun at your jobs, I understand the stress of it, especially if it's not what u studied or no where close to what u studied, I myself would be satisfied as a banker because I love the challenge it gives, Am still in my undergrad year and would finish in April, Am studying accounting and I love it, Not everyone is cut for the job, if u find it too stressful then leave and do something that u like, I don't believe in doing things just for the money, so I really hope u all learn to love ur job,

P.s. don't go looking for a job, always get a career, in a career ur doing what u like and making money, in a job ur Just. Over. Broke.

CultureRe: What's Expected Of Nigerian Women by Lady2(f): 10:52pm On Nov 28, 2007
I applaud u for wanting to learn the Nigerian culture, trust me it will go a long way. However, don't loose sight of who u are because ur husband married u for u and not as a Nigerian woman.

Nigerian women do expect the man to be the head of the household and "bring home the bacon" as u might say, but most are not dependent on the husband. A lot of women are educated and have a career, ofcourse she moves with her husband as she is the home builder but she keeps herself occupied also.
My mother was very independent of my father even though she didn't have to, but she did so as an example to her daughters. I was raised never to rely on anyone but God and myself. So I too will be independent.

Not all women evaluate men based on the amount of money they make or what rank they have in society (those who do are foolish), for it is not about a man's status in society but about his hardwork.

hahaha@"how are Nigerian women too independent?"
my dear I don't know how to answer that one, I'll let the men answer it for u.

My husband, no matter what nationality will respect my family and understand that when he married me, he married my family also and vice versa, as done in my family, when a family member is in need of help, we all come together to help. However, if the family member is continuously in trouble, we'll encourage them to help themselves. Same with his family
