ketchupBoy:As I said before Chuba Okadigbo as Senate President mobilized Umar N'Abba the Speaker of HOR to overturn President Obasanjo's veto on establishment of NNDC. Without the doggedness of Sen. Chuba Okadigbo the then Senate President standing up against President Obasanjo, there would have been no NNDC and probably no Niger Delta Ministry Southeasterners fight while South-south benefits. The agitation of Biafra may bring back the call for implementation of 2014 confab back to the table and South-south will reap from blood of IPOB agitators. |
ketchupBoy:Ekwueme was responsible for emergence of South-South Region during the 1994/95 constitutional conference Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at a function in 2012 wished he had supported the Ekwueme proposal on the restructuring of the country during the 1994/95 constitutional conference. Atiku who now wants the country structured in such a way that it would strengthen the various geopolitical zones admitted that the present structure is impeding the country’s progress. He said “I want to recall that during the 1994-95 Constitutional Conference, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, the Second Republic vice president of this federation, introduced and canvassed for the concept of geopolitical zones. “I was among those who opposed it because I thought that Ekwueme, coming from the defunct Republic of Biafra, wanted to break up the country again. “Now, I realise that I should have supported him because our current federal structure is clearly not working. Dr. Ekwueme obviously saw what some of us, with our civil war mindset, could not see at the time. There is indeed too much concentration of power and resources at the centre. “And it is stifling our march to true greatness as a nation http://sunnewsonline.com/new/new-twist-in-clamour-for-polity-restructuring/ Chuba Okadigbo as senate President mobilized Umar N'Abba the Speaker of HOR to overturn President Obasanjo's veto on establishment of NNDC. They just hate competition and want to rip Nigerians off. It's operation render Southeast Economy redundant to Northeast level. Wicked Government Dangote Cement Plc has recorded a slim growth in earnings for the half year period ended June 30, 2014. https://cdn.akamai.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/B26062013-Dangote-cement.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 Dangote Cement Plc The results released on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) showed that its earnings went up marginally by 5.26 per cent to N208.91 billion from N198.46 billion in the prior year. However, there was a higher increase in the cost of sales by 13.63 per cent to N75.37 billion from N66.33 billion in the first half of 2013, which leads to a flat growth in profit from core operation which stood at N111.98 billion compared with the N111.09 billion in the prior year. Following the expiration of the tax holiday it enjoyed over the years, its net earnings dipped as pre-tax income reduced by 0.57 per cent to N107.07 billion in the period under review, from N107.68 billion in the corresponding period. This occurred despite a 9.16 per cent growth in finance income to N3.23 billion from N2.96 billion achieved in the corresponding period of 2013. Analysts believed this was largely due to a significant spike in finance charges of 27.89 per cent to N8.15 billion from N6.40 billion, supported by the significant rise in short term borrowing and bank overdraft by 89 per cent and 169 per cent respectively during the period. A further analysis of the results showed that the company’s shareholders’ funds declined by 4.17 per cent to N522.3 billion, reflecting the dip in net earnings. Although its total assets grew by 6.74 per cent to N900.06 billion from N843.20 billion over the period, it was impacted by the significant rise in short term borrowings and bank overdrafts to N104.7 billion and N2.3 billion during the period. Despite the company's half year performance, analysts at BGL Limited stressed that they are optimistic about their full year revenue projection of N488.30 billion. “As usual, the third quarter demand for construction is expected to lead to increase in sales by the company. In this regard, we retain out buy recommendation on the shares of Dangote Cement ahead of our detailed report on this result,” BGL stated. Meanwhile, the Nigerian stock market performance indicator showed that the NSE -ASI depreciated by 0.05 per cent in yesterday’s trading to close at 41,767.33 (this brings the year-to-date appreciation to 1.06%) relative to the previous day trading session closing figure of 41,789.58. Also, the turnover by volume of transaction decreased by 5.16 per cent relative to the previous day trading session closing figure. Value of transaction however, increased by 78.62 percent Source: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/dangote-cement-records-marginal-increase-in-operating-profit/186981/ |
If you know it's legitimate, why sent JTF to instigate violence by killing protesters? Until Nigerian Government condemns the killing of nine innocent Nigerians by the security forces the government is barbaric and dictatorship to say the least. |
How can they liberate villages that collected their PVC and voted in the last election without hitches? Were they occupied during the elections and yet they voted against Bokoharam orders not to vote. We know Bokoharam were technically overthrown in six weeks before the election and while Chief of Defence Staff was handing over to Buhari's appointed CDS, he said "I am handing you over the whole Nigeria without a single territory under Bokoharam" and the present CDS never disputed it. How come Bokoharam captures more than 80,000 villages again? Food for thought |

rusher14:Forget about your caution on Security forces. The deduction is that you are happy that innocent protesters were murdered. Killing IPOB gives you and your ilks satisfaction - QED. How do people protest in America and Europe that IPOB contravened before the Security Forces started killing them? We know you all evil minded hypocrites. |
Governor Isa Yuguda and Danjuma Goje apologise to Boko Haram The Bauchi State governor and the former Gombe State governor react to statements by the radical Islamic sect that it would hunt them down Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State and Senator Danjuma Goje from Gombe State have publicly appologised to radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, for any rights violations suffered during the military crackdown on its leaders in 2009. "I apologise to the members of Jama'atu Ahlussunnah lidda'awati wal Jihad for perceived injustices caused them as they have the full rights to be protected by the law," Yuguda said in a statement on Saturday."I hope this will further the healing of the trauma on Jama'atu Ahlussunnah, and open the door to meaningful dialogue that will end hostilities and usher peace for which the religion of Islam is all about." Goje, the former governor of Gombe, said: "as a true Muslim, who believes in peace and brotherhood, I hereby tender my public apology to the organisation for any wrong done to it in the course of performing my duty as the then governor of Gombe State". Boko Haram, which also goes by the name Jama'atu Ahlussunnah lidda'awati wal Jihad, is based in Borno State, but has also been active in nearby Bauchi and Gombe. It has claimed responsibility for series of attacks on security operatives and politicians in the region. Yuguda and Goje were apparently responding to Boko Haram's demand for apologies as a precondition for dialogue with government. In a recent media report, Abu Zaid, the spokesman for Boko Haram, had said the sect would hunt down the governors of Borno, Bauchi and Gombe. "We would not relent in our efforts of searching for them until they come out publicly and apologize," he allegedly said. Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State had already offered amnesty any member of the sect who renounces violence. However, Boko Haram has continued to demand for a wider application of Sharia Law in the north. http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/yuguda-and-goje-apologise-boko-haram |
rusher14:The day a drunk driver kills your daughter or sibling as it happened to me. You will know how impossible peaceful reaction can be seeing jim/her in the pool of blood. Have IPOB killed anybody? - No, why kill them? The same mad JTF even killed innocent Hausa Suya seller who wasn't threatened by IPOB - think about this, the Hausa Suya seller was safe and comfortable in the midst of IPOB protesters than JTF that took his life. This is just a pity |
KinkyAngela:Get lost and never quote my comment again. I am not interested in whatever that is eating you up. |
KinkyAngela:So far, Kumuyi came to Aba after the so-called statement and was welcomed by unimaginable crowd and congregation and was never stoned. No Yoruba church has been threatened let alone burnt in the entire Southeast. The IPOB has never kill any Nigerian or purposefully vandalize goods/properties in the course of their agitation rather Nigerian security forces have murdered defenseless men and women of Igbo extraction to provoke them into violence. There are no group in the world that has embarked on the protests of these magnitude that are more civilized than IPOB when accosted by hate-filled Security Forces who are inclined to shot to death anywhere in the world Igbos are the most civilized group in the world that respect the sanctity of life and never vandalize properties at will. Stop quoting my comment with your stupid sense of hatred against anything Ndigbo represents. You should be ashamed of commenting on issues that got to do with the Igbos as I have never on this forum bordered about anything to antagonize the north or the west for whatever reasons. |
“Although the Igbos do not allow Yoruba such freedom in their region as they enjoy in South West, it is not a reason to go against their decision to self determination."Another fabricated lie from the pit of hell borne out of envy and jealousy. |
It is only savage and miscreants that threatens war and dispossession of other men's property when the issue of secession is mentioned. The worst is that these anti-Biafra are the most haters of the Igbos and their progresses claiming to know what's best for the Biafrans. I can understand when a loved one wants to say goodbye but the logic of living with "a supposed hated parasite" is beyond logic. |
OdenigboAroli:What kind of misguided comment is this? Please respect yourself |
The muslims that shout Death to Israel. Death to Jews and Death to America are yet to be arrested by any government in the world irrespective of their attempt to actualize them. Why are these hypocrites and evil miscreants complaining of speeches made in London outside Nigeria? What is different from Oba Akiolu's threat on the Igbos? Bunch of hypocrites. Evil men |
Did he told you God spoke to him or Is he afraid of Islamists overrunning him when Biafra exits this contraception and mistake called Nigeria? Most people against Biafra actually have nothing to lose but Fear of the unknown is eating them up while some are borne out of envy and jealous. If Israel stayed 430 years in Egypt and 40 years in the wilderness and yet inherited the promised land, Biafra is surely a certainty and a matter of when. |
The women have just taken front row. www.nairaland.com/2779070/pro-biafran-women-hold-massive-protest#40657916 Check the above link for photos. Ideology is stronger than the bullet. Aba women riot part 2 loading, Soldiers beware the battle just started. |
They said it was online ranting then come the protest, they called them dischanted and jobless youths now our mothers are here on the streets. What will they say next? Why not restructure Nigeria or better still allow a referendum to determine how many people support the Independence of Biafra. 67% support is approval and acceptable. |
egift:Who are the WE? Shame on you Evil soul and a grand Saboteur who finds pleasure in the death of the innocent as to prove a devilish and murderous point. Get lost |
Is this not NDDC project? It is overdue for completion. |
egift:Stop living in 20th century. Provoking peaceful protesters and agitators by the JTF cannot and will never cause bombing of civilian areas again. IPOB respect and love the sanctity of life and are the most civilized protesters anywhere in the world - quote me The world is now a global village where a president is answerable to crime against humanity under his watch. Hidden Video Cameras are now everywhere to record atrocities committed by the law enforcement agencies. Many things have changed. |
Do you know that almost every structure and investment in the Southeast was bombed to stone age during the war? Do you know that the FG promised to rebuild, reconstruct and rehabilitate the region to sustain livelihood and investment? Why is it that none was implemented Do you know the cause and why Igbo youths migrate to other regions of Nigeria in droves? There are no structures to sustain their livelihood except individual investments and projects over there in southeast. Your definition and thoughts about the demands of Biafrans are parochial and inconsiderate. You and your ilks fight the resurgence of Biafra to avoid any form of negotiation with FG to avoid any extra budgetary advantage when of a truth the region lack every federal presence except revenue collection agencies. Can you imagine that 98% of businesses and 95% of the investments in Southeast are owned by Southeasterners? There are marginally no investors or infrastructure the FG can boast of hence the people needs independence. Let them govern themselves since the FG has an unwritten mandate to underdevelop their region by reaping them off through taxation and control of their resources. Buhari collected $2,1billion to rebuild the northeast when the rehabilitation and reconstruction of bombed eastern region is still being awaited after 45 years. Freedom is what Easterners need, freedom they will get. |

shachris02:And you failed adult-content (blue film) blogger and a coward of unimaginable proportion there mention cowardice in your comment. Chai, wonders they say shall not cease to manifest and now I know better. Evil and wicked people don't usual know their status and psychopathism even when confronted. |
shachris02:Don't quote me again as you can see, I am not an average student/lady but a first class grade lady hence I can no longer put up with this your dumbness after taking much time to upgrade your mentality on the "whys" of Biafra struggle and the alternates. Before I forget, Igbo men and youths are not as coward and complacent as you failed adult-content blogger. Bye |
INTROVERT:But there more Northerners on the scholarship selection board. When a first class student forgets what he/she learned in school after a year or two and then performs woefully during a merit test and interview, who do you blame? |
Another deceived Easterner, It is unjust to beat a child and also force the child not to cry You don't put gifted child in a class full of dumb students to begin with as it will impede on the development of the child. You are still ignorant of the meaning of unequality let alone justice. Ever had of the 3Rs As Godswill Akpabio will like to put it, if the war has actually ended, why is there no plan to implement the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in the region where the war was actually fought and facilities / infrastructures bombed to stone age. On a second look, the reconstruction and rehabilitation started and were focused in the North and Western Regions of Nigeria. There is a grand plan to suffocate the people of Eastern Nigeria and continue the devastation through skewed policy implementations by falsifying Census figures to favour the victors of the civil war, negligence to providing minimal life sustaining infrastructures that will spur growth and development that would help to stop these uncontrollable mass movement of the Igbo youths to other regions where these amenities are readily available. Today, the North is killing the Igbos after the Igbos have surrendered to one Nigeria while the West is threatening fire and brimstone preparing its people to unleash genocide on the Igbos in the South West unless they surrender their wealth and liberties to the Yorubas and forgo their political rights as enshrined in the constitution of One Nigeria. Bros, the Igbos need breathing space, equal right and justice after surrendering to One Nigeria but alas what we are seeing is more hostilities, threats and call for genocide of our people Even the sharing and allocation of political offices in present Government and the ruling Party is a testament that the war has not ended |

shachris02:Igbos have no problem with the Hausas, Yorubas or the Ijaws rather the problem is this unequal partnership and marriage called Nigeria. Nnamdi Azikiwe father and other notable Igbos have been living and doing business in the North and West before the birth of Zik and this contraception called Nigeria. What can't you understand that a divorce is better than strangulation of one partner in a marriage? After divorce parental visits are normal. |
shachris02:You are too stupi.d for insinuating the above rubbish. What do you know about violence? As I said before you think because your father beats up your mum that is a representation of Igbos being violent? Actions and Reactions are equal and opposite you dumb "Arts" student. Igbos have already fought a 3 year civil war hence your analogy is a failed assumption. There is no people in the whole wide world as a group or country that value and respect the sanctity of life than the Igbos and by extension the Biafrans - Fact Go and read up the exploits of Igbo slaves and what the Europeans had to say about them to educate yourself. Cowardice is not in our blood. Fighting for freedom and a better livelihood have a price and that the IPOB are determined to pay. The Nigerian Government must renegotiate the existence of Nigeria and restructure this country or the Biafra will have to declare its independence. Was IPOB around during the Sharia saga when Aba central mosque was burnt? |
Yesterday's vanguardngr report clearly stated that a bullet from JTF hit an Hausa man hence there wasn't discrimination of any kind of people. The last time I checked, no Northerner is under threat as they are filled in our markets going about their normal businesses. |
shachris02:Now I know that I was discussing with a dumb fellow. A mumu of first order trying to justify his deranged warp view of his perceived "enjoyment of sorry-life under bondage" and blaming everything on the IPOB The massive deactivation of MTN lines are now blamed on the Igbos. For your information, the catastrophic destruction of MTN facilities happened in Akure yesterday and not that broken 6 pieces of side glasses in Owerri. And moreover, the MTN franchise in Owerri that had the front glasses broken by frustrated MTN customers was a result of repeated registration of the same line at the same centre for N200 each and yet MTN deactivated those thousands of lines and the disappointments on locking them out - I saw what happened myself. The last time I checked, no Northerner is under threat as they are filled in our markets going about their normal businesses. |
