Be deceiving yourself there..Every matrix that can be used to determine our population like number of registered vehicles, bvn, number of active telephone lines, number of active bank account, number of students enrolled etc, the south has more..
Moreover, why is it that the population of Niger(country) with the same culture, tradition and religion with larger land mass than the whole of Nigeria is just 20m plus while Nigeria northern region claim it's over 100m.

80% of Niger land mass is covered by the Sahara desert. Also, if you look at the occupied areas of Northern Nigeria and Niger, you will notice that they have similar population density which ranges between 50 and 90 persons per square km. That explains the wide disparity in overall population density of Niger Republic compared to Northern Nigeria

25 cartons of PET Soft Drinks average price of N4k = N4k*24 = N100k

About 10 cartons of Biscuit at average of N2000 per carton = N20k

5 cartons of Indome at average of N6k per carton = N30k

Other items = N100k

Total Inventory N250k

Rent @ N200k per annum for 2 years and Agency . N600k

In reality, Wedding party produced by Kemi Adetiba is the highest grossing Nollywood wood film if you consider the exchange rates at the times of production.

Wedding party produced in 2016 made N452million when exchange rate was about N390 per dollar. That gives us about $1.2 m dollars.

On the other hand, Funke Akindele's Children of Judah grossed N1B ( latest figure as at yesterday 5th January 2024) which in dollar terms is about $833k dollars (1 $= N1200)

I believe it is already charged under the interest expense for the year. The Tier1 loan is $500m (N206B). At the booked rate of 9.12%. The interest will amount to about N18.8B.

BabsO2:

Access raised additional tier 1 capital about two years ago. The providers of this capital deserve a share of profits. The annual reports does not state explicitly what portion of profits belong to these equity stake holders. It will be wrong to assume all the profit attributable to shareholders for Access belong to NSE listed share holders when they were not the ones that injected the additional tier 1 capital 2 years ago. Look at the two clips from their financial statements below to help further appreciate the issue. Hope you get it now why I discounted the EPS of NSE shareholders.

Even after apportioning a portion of profits to the Tier 1 Equity Stake holders in proportion to the size of their Equity. Access EPS of N3.57 for 2022 is still very good. Plus the rate at which Access has grown incomes in the last couple of years has been excellent. Perhaps the foreign acquisitions have done very well and the Injected Tier 1 capital completed in FX was good. And as you noted if Ghana impairment is discounted, Access is doing very well.

Below is the amount of registered voters by regions.
I am going to make this analysis based on 40% voters turnout in every region, it's not certain but it's enough to give us an insight to as to what will happen in February.

Based on 40% voters turnout, here is the figure from each region

1. NW 8,902,224
2. SW 7,183,506
3. NC 6, 145, 492
4. SS 5, 776, 285
5. NE 5,016,971
6. SE 4,363,042

Analysis based on regions based on my predictions are as follows

Northwest
1. Atiku 35% 3,115,778
2. TINUBU 30% 2,670,667
3. Kwankwaso 25% 2,225,556
4. Obi 5% 445,111

SouthWest
1. Tinubu 50% 3,591,753
2. Obi 25% 1,7996,876
3. Atiku 15% 1,077,526
4. Kwankwaso 2% 143,670

Southsouth
1. Obi 45% 2,599,328
2. Atiku 30% 1,732,885
3. Tinubu 20% 1,155,257
4. Kwankwaso 2% 115,525

Northcentral
1. Atiku 30% 1,843,647
2. Obi 30% 1,843,647
3. Tinubu 30% 1,843,647
4. Kwankwaso 10% 614,549

Northeast
Atiku 40% 2,006,788
Tinubu 30% 1,505,091
Kwankwaso 15% 752,545
Obi 10% 501,697

Southeast
Obi 70% 3,054,129
Atiku 15% 654,456
Tinubu 10% 436,304
Kwankwaso 1% 43,630

TOTAL
Tinubu : 11,202, 719
Atiku: 10,431,080
Obi: 10,239,788
Kwankwaso: 3,895,475

I see Tinubu getting the most votes, however, this is not certain. Tinubu will get the most votes but won't get 25% required coverage. Tinubu will go into a rerun with Atiku.
Atiku will beat Tinubu in the rerun by winning SE and SS. However, it's still too close to call, Tinubu and Atiku may lose the momentum to Obi.

Thanks for reading guys

Tinubu is more likely to win a rerun. Most Obi voters would rather not vote than vote any of the 2 candidates. Kwakwanso is more likely to deliver his voters over to Tinubu than to Atiku. North Central will more likely support Tinubu than Atiku because of the Fulani factor

Politics / Re: Peter Obi Created The Foundation Of Increasing Anambra Igr(photos) by lagbaja(m): 8:20am On Nov 22, 2022
While Ngige met the IGR of Anambra in 2003 at roughly N800m, he grew the IGR to N3.6B in 2004 and N7.4Billion in 2005 before he was removed from office in March 2006 in favour of Peter Obi. Obi would not match the 2005 performance of Ngige in IGR until 2012, his sixth year in office. At the end of his final full year in office in 2013, Anambra’s IGR was just 18% better than it was in 2005.

Obi’s record does not look any better when contrasted with his successor, the incumbent governor. 2014 saw the IGR grow by 50% from N8.7B to N12.8B. Obiano by its 7th in 2020 generated in N28B. Obiano had more than quadrupled Anamabra’s IGR in seven years while Obi only grew it by 18% in eight years. While Anambra was fully dependent on federal allocation when Obi became governor AND when he left, Obiano is leaving Anambra as one of the three states BudgIT says “could meet their operating expenses obligations with a combination of their IGR and Value Added Tax (VAT).

Voter turnout is what counts. Notice the decline in the total number of voters in the South East and South-South between 2015 and 2019 and the increase in the North-East and North-West regions at the same time. The activities of IPOB was not as pronounced as it is today.

Wike is a smart politician. End strategy is to stop Atiku. He is secretly backing APC knowing fully well that they are more likely to win. He is openly supporting Obi( thereby reducing Atiku's votes ) because it is easier to sell him to his people than to sell Tinubu. At the end of the day, It's a win win for him . If APC wins, he is in Tinubu' s good books, if Obi wins, he is also in his good books.

Politics / Re: South Africa To Reduce Pump Prices Of Fuel by lagbaja(m): 8:15am On Aug 01, 2022
GreenAgain:

The South African government says it will slash the pump price of fuel from Wednesday.

Gwede Mantashe, South Africa’s minister of mineral resources and energy, said this in a statement on Saturday.

He said the price adjustment is aimed at easing the burden on consumers of soaring energy prices.

South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted monthly, informed by international and local factors.

“International factors include the fact that South Africa imports both crude oil and finished products at a price set at the international level, including importation costs,” Mantashe said.

According to the minister, the price of petrol will drop by ZAR 1.32 ($0.08) per litre — to ZAR 25.42 and ZAR 24.99 — for 95-octane and 93-octane petrol, respectively.

The price of diesel, used mainly by farmers, haulage vehicles and emergency power generators, will also be cut by 88 cents for high-sulphur diesel and 91 cents for lower sulphur diesel, he said.

Mantashe said the prices were adjusted due to less demand for crude oil due to recession concerns and a resurgence of COVID-19 in China.

He added that “the decision by OPEC and Non-OPEC members to increase oil production” was another contributory factor.

“The average international product prices of petrol, diesel, Illuminating Paraffin and LPG have decreased during the period under review. LPG prices have increased due to higher freight rates during the period under review,” he said.

“The movement in product prices has led to lower contributions to the Basic Fuel Price of petrol ULP 95 by 303.16 c/l, ULP 93 by 297.42 c/l, diesel 500ppm and 50ppm by 267.30 c/l and 271.15 c/l respectively, while the contribution to illuminating paraffin was 249.77 c/l.”

The minister said the depreciation of the rand also instigated the price reduction.

In June, the country’s inflation hit a 13-year high of 7.4 percent.

https://www.thecable.ng/south-africa-to-reduce-pump-prices-of-fuel-wednesday/amp

In essence, South Africa buys petrol at N625 per litre ( N1000/litre at black market rate).

1 rand is N25 cbn rate, N40 black market rate

Learn Pop, plumbing, electrical wiring, iron works, security systems, carpentry etc. You wont be the one doing the menial jobs when you are hired, you will acquire trainees. You can achieve all the learning under one year. Builders prefer workers that has multiple skills. Be ready to pay to learn if you want to achieve them in good time.

Politics / The Powerful Dot At The Centre Of A Circle. by lagbaja(m): 1:22am On Jun 12, 2021
According to Wikipedia, the The circled dot ( or a dot at the centre of a circle), circumpunct, or circle with a point at its centre is an ancient symbol. It can represent the Solar system. The dot is a Solar symbol used to represent the Sun.

The Sun is the primary source of energy to the earth. Without the sun, the earth will not exist as it is known. Planets other than the earth, farther or too close to the sun do not support life.

The symbol of Biafra is the rising sun. The Igbos are known to be industrious, hardworking and highly innovative. They have demonstrated this in many spheres of life both globally and locally. They are not perfect just like other tribes but you cannot wish away their strategic placement.

When the president compared the South East to a dot at the centre of a circle, he was very myopic. He refers to the geographic space occupied by Igbos. It is indeed an unfortunate mindset held by the President. He should be reminded that not all Igbos are separatists and not all separatists are Igbo.

The geographic space in the modern age is not the correct measure of strength. Israel occupies one of the least geographic space in the middle East yet they have the largest economic and military might. Greenland has the largest geographic space yet it is the least occupied.

Igbos are not localized to the south east region. They are the most geographically dispersed ethnic group in Nigeria. There is a common saying that anywhere you do not find an Igbo man in Africa or even in the world at large is not habitable.

The president should put bigotry and nepotism aside. He should instead focus on inclusiveness, institutional integrity, fairness and equity. Our strength as a nation lies in our diversity and human capital development.

Mental abuse is far worse than physical abuse. If the woman was physically abused and we see blood stains, the reactions will be different. She abused the man mentally by saying things that hurts him to the marrow. If in the future, the man reacts physically, people will advice the woman to pack out of the home. People should remember that Mental abuse could lead to depression and suicide. Forgive her but let her know how much what she said has hurt you.

What is wrong in sharing hybrid cassavas stems. This singular act could be all that is needed to turn the economy of the state around. A high yield cassava stem is a better gift than 10 bags of garri. The mindset of the majority of previous posters of the forum speaks to the monetary value of the stem rather than the potential values. Teach me how to fish is better than giving me fish. This act has both economic and psychological impacts. If in one year, Farmers reaps better yields, the stem will be reused and the multiplier effect can only be imagined.

The problem of Nigeria is the mindsets of his people. In one breath, we complain that lawmakers earn the highest in the world, and should be placed on minimum wage. In another breath, you expect them to share expensive things in their constituencies. I ask, from which money ?. If we put the financial burden of sharing largesse on lawmakers whose duty it is to simply make laws, they will keep sharing our money.

Nigerian youths should change its mindsets from that of entitlement to that of Enterprise. That's the only way a secured future can be guaranteed.

Culture / Re: Why Do Adults Find "How Are You?" Insulting? by lagbaja(m): 10:52am On Oct 05, 2020
Cultures are different in every society. The translation of "how are you" in our African language has a different meaning contextually. That is why an adult will feel offended when you ask them " how are you "

E.g The Yoruba meaning of How are you is 'Bawo ni" or " Se alafia ni". Culturally, that greeting can only come from someone older than you. If you say it to an older person, you are perceived to be very rude and untrained.
