CelebritiesRe: Ali Baba Reacts To Super Falcons' Protest Over Unpaid Allowances by lagbaja(m):
Statistically speaking, more than 50% of posters here failed in simple comprehension of this sarcacism. It could have been higher if not for the initial poster who shed the light ( the first 13 comments all failed) Here is the verdict: More than 50% of Nigerian youths/ graduates are poorly educated ( at least they were able to read and write) and lacks logical reasoning ( or perhaps are superficial in reasoning ) and comprehension. This goes to further explain why they make wrong choices in their daily lives. Nairabet and Ponzi schemes comes to mind. In the new world order, innovation powered by knowledge and reasoning rules and more than 50% of us lacks it. That should send shivers down our spines as a nation.
Science/TechnologyRe: Isa Creates Bicycle Chain Charger In Bida, Niger: Dangerous Or Innovative? by lagbaja(m): 5:31am On Jul 04, 2016
0rex:
This is no innovation, neither a discovery. He is only making use of the conducting property of the metal used in making the chain. He could have as well used two half split plastic pipes filled with water & you just plug your charger into it. grin
This is an accident waiting to happen that can be prevented by a pair of #500 extension boxes.
What have you innovated or discovered. ? This is thinking outside the box. The guy has solved a major problem at very low cost. Not with he wave of fake but expensive extension boxes with iron cable instead of copper cables (they lasts for hardly a week) flooding our markets. His invention needs few modifications (I.e insulation) just like any new invention. Soon one Chinese company will make a prototype and sell back to us at premium price. They will call it flexible and expandable extension box then your inferiority complex will make you call them genius.

One of our major problem in this country is research
The bigger problem is coming on Nairaland to complain about lack of research when you have done nothing with the volume of existing research materials. That is if you even know they exist.

As usual Nigerian youths cannot see the opportunities in the provided data. Cynicism have beclouded the minds of many. We spend N25b on imported food daily, 9 trillion annually. We import Cow from Niger republic despite their harsh economic environment. While busy blaming government, remember to take your destinies in your hands. Someone even made jest of Eran mama Oshogbo. Mama Oshogbo does no get loan from the bank or incentives from government. If you scale up what mama Oshogbo is doing, you will probably earn more than the bankers.
PropertiesRe: Selfish Nature Of Road Contractors In Nigeria(pic And Illustrations) by lagbaja(m): 6:49am On May 25, 2016
Several considerations goes into road construction. The destructive power of flowing water increases exponentially as its velocity increases. Therefore, water must not be allowed to develop sufficient volume or velocity so as to cause excessive wear along ditches, below culverts, or along exposed running surfaces, cuts, or fills. With this in mind, the topography of the construction area determines to a large extent the elevation level to which the road is taken. There are instances where the road is dug up to a lower level and other instances where the road is filled up. The drainages do not exist in silos but are interconnected and this should be done in a manner that one drainage system does not empty into another but rather into into the bigger drain such as a river or a canal. The primary concern is to ensure that The road drains quickly during Normal and flash floods because the durability of the road is determined by how well the road drains. If the construction is done with existing houses as the determinant of the road level, it is likely that the road and the houses would all be flooded and the roads damaged in no time.

It was very dry....for 8 months
You have to leave the poultry waste wet for 6 month to compost before you can use it. To make the process faster, mix with wood shavings or saw dust. Mix them every week to fasten the process. To test the readiness, it should not generate heat anymore and should not be smelly. Drying it will not allow it to compost.

GlorytoGod:
Well, the answers to your questions depend on the breed of rabbits you have. For instance, giant rabbits should not really be your choice when you are aiming at meat product because they have more bone and less meat in terms of meat/bone ratio compared to the commercial breeds like large white/newzelland white etc.Another important factor is that giants do not reach sexual maturity until 8-10months as against 4-5 months for those commercial breeds. It is true giants grow bigger, but not as quickly as commercial breeds which can be over 1kg in only 3months! Again, giants are not good feed converters; they require more feed to give a pound of flesh compared to commercial breeds. Now,l will answer your questions based on commercial breeds since you are looking at meat production.A rabbit can live up to between 8 and 12 years.A doe can give birth to between 6 and 14 kittens at a time and the doe can have between 7 and 9 births a year!
I have tried to reach you. Your number does not go through. How long does it take your breeds to attain 2kg and what is the fcr ?

I will advice you to apologize to your former employer for the disservice you did to him here. You got trained for 2 months free of charge and still got a job offer thereafter. If you were so well trained when you were recruited you should have been making money for the company immediately, but instead you had to undergo free training which you ought to have paid for. I am even sure that your employer was paying you from his pocket and not from your productivity. What goes around comes around. You are soon to be an agropreneur and you will experience how frustrating it can be to have people with your work attitude and mentality of instant gratification. You have given people like us one more reasons why we employ foreigners with better works ethics.

I regret that I ever voted Ebunolu Adegboruwa aka. Big Sam as student union president back in OAU. The guy is a complete hypocrite and only interested in his popularity and pocket, he is never on the side of the people. Everyone knows that that A good percentage of Nigerian judges are corrupt and were responsible for the endemic corruption we are experiencing.

@vanpeele, I am so proud of what you are doing. Keep it up. Here are a few additional innovations I will suggest to make the results even better.

1. Nursery the seeds in a seed tray for 2 weeks before transplanting to the bags. This will address the issue of attacks on the first emerging leafs by small animals. It will also reduce initial attacks by white flies.

2. Make irrigation out of perforated PVC pipes ( Do it yourself using half inch pipes) The PVC pipes will be perforated at the points where the bags are positioned.

3. Do hand pollinatin. Pluck the male flowers, remove the petals, use the remaining anther to touch the female flowers. You can also do this with a soft toothbrush or artist brush.

blood meal is not really advisable at that age as it can give them diarrhoea (not good at all for weaners). Startér is way to go coz it contains essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Good luck
Blood meal is very good for Weaners whether used dry or wet ( boiled, do not use raw blood ). Use at a maximum ration of 6% (dry mater basis) . To ensure that its infection free, mix with tetracycline. You can use a sachet of antibiotics used for aquaculture. Use according to the recommended mix ratio on the sachet.

Please farmers, how do I handle a nursing sow not producing enough milk for piglets.? .
Feed it quality food. A mix of Maize and Soya for at least 2 weeks or You can use any chicken feed with at least 18% crude protein. It's expensive feed but you will be rewarded with a high survival rate of weaned piglets with very rapid growth.

This judgement portrays danger

This shows the opposition and perceived enemies of the president will never get a fair hearing in court as long as Buhari keeps lording over the judiciary.

400million for what huh Is this where Buhari and his incompetent finance minister hopes to source for funds after the fall in oil price undecided
It didn't portray danger when the high level criminals that were tried in the past walked away with their loot. Hope you still remember the Pension scandal.

PoliticsRe: OFFICIAL- The Most Economically Viable States In Nigeria by lagbaja(m): 11:40am On Sep 28, 2015
The report talked about states with highest CASH TRANSACTIONS, this is mostly common with states where a lot of retail activities goes on. States involved in high volume agriculture and manufacturing are not likely to be involved in high volume cash transacrions. High cash transaction has nothing to do with economic viability.
