While Ngige met the IGR of Anambra in 2003 at roughly N800m, he grew the IGR to N3.6B in 2004 and N7.4Billion in 2005 before he was removed from office in March 2006 in favour of Peter Obi. Obi would not match the 2005 performance of Ngige in IGR until 2012, his sixth year in office. At the end of his final full year in office in 2013, Anambra’s IGR was just 18% better than it was in 2005. Obi’s record does not look any better when contrasted with his successor, the incumbent governor. 2014 saw the IGR grow by 50% from N8.7B to N12.8B. Obiano by its 7th in 2020 generated in N28B. Obiano had more than quadrupled Anamabra’s IGR in seven years while Obi only grew it by 18% in eight years. While Anambra was fully dependent on federal allocation when Obi became governor AND when he left, Obiano is leaving Anambra as one of the three states BudgIT says “could meet their operating expenses obligations with a combination of their IGR and Value Added Tax (VAT). |
Voter turnout is what counts. Notice the decline in the total number of voters in the South East and South-South between 2015 and 2019 and the increase in the North-East and North-West regions at the same time. The activities of IPOB was not as pronounced as it is today.

Wike is a smart politician. End strategy is to stop Atiku. He is secretly backing APC knowing fully well that they are more likely to win. He is openly supporting Obi( thereby reducing Atiku's votes ) because it is easier to sell him to his people than to sell Tinubu. At the end of the day, It's a win win for him . If APC wins, he is in Tinubu' s good books, if Obi wins, he is also in his good books. |

Since you are a graduate, you have the capacity to learn more than 1 skill. Learn Pop, plumbing, electrical wiring, iron works, security systems, carpentry etc. You wont be the one doing the menial jobs when you are hired, you will acquire trainees. You can achieve all the learning under one year. Builders prefer workers that has multiple skills. Be ready to pay to learn if you want to achieve them in good time. |

We need an enabling environment for business to thrive thereby creating jobs. That way, we can pay for health insurance. if government then decides to subsidize health care it will just be a plus. Socialism and welfarism brought us to where we are. We need a human faced capitalism. |

According to Wikipedia, the The circled dot ( or a dot at the centre of a circle), circumpunct, or circle with a point at its centre is an ancient symbol. It can represent the Solar system. The dot is a Solar symbol used to represent the Sun. The Sun is the primary source of energy to the earth. Without the sun, the earth will not exist as it is known. Planets other than the earth, farther or too close to the sun do not support life. The symbol of Biafra is the rising sun. The Igbos are known to be industrious, hardworking and highly innovative. They have demonstrated this in many spheres of life both globally and locally. They are not perfect just like other tribes but you cannot wish away their strategic placement. When the president compared the South East to a dot at the centre of a circle, he was very myopic. He refers to the geographic space occupied by Igbos. It is indeed an unfortunate mindset held by the President. He should be reminded that not all Igbos are separatists and not all separatists are Igbo. The geographic space in the modern age is not the correct measure of strength. Israel occupies one of the least geographic space in the middle East yet they have the largest economic and military might. Greenland has the largest geographic space yet it is the least occupied. Igbos are not localized to the south east region. They are the most geographically dispersed ethnic group in Nigeria. There is a common saying that anywhere you do not find an Igbo man in Africa or even in the world at large is not habitable. The president should put bigotry and nepotism aside. He should instead focus on inclusiveness, institutional integrity, fairness and equity. Our strength as a nation lies in our diversity and human capital development. |

Mental abuse is far worse than physical abuse. If the woman was physically abused and we see blood stains, the reactions will be different. She abused the man mentally by saying things that hurts him to the marrow. If in the future, the man reacts physically, people will advice the woman to pack out of the home. People should remember that Mental abuse could lead to depression and suicide. Forgive her but let her know how much what she said has hurt you. |
What is wrong in sharing hybrid cassavas stems. This singular act could be all that is needed to turn the economy of the state around. A high yield cassava stem is a better gift than 10 bags of garri. The mindset of the majority of previous posters of the forum speaks to the monetary value of the stem rather than the potential values. Teach me how to fish is better than giving me fish. This act has both economic and psychological impacts. If in one year, Farmers reaps better yields, the stem will be reused and the multiplier effect can only be imagined. The problem of Nigeria is the mindsets of his people. In one breath, we complain that lawmakers earn the highest in the world, and should be placed on minimum wage. In another breath, you expect them to share expensive things in their constituencies. I ask, from which money ?. If we put the financial burden of sharing largesse on lawmakers whose duty it is to simply make laws, they will keep sharing our money. Nigerian youths should change its mindsets from that of entitlement to that of Enterprise. That's the only way a secured future can be guaranteed. |

Cultures are different in every society. The translation of "how are you" in our African language has a different meaning contextually. That is why an adult will feel offended when you ask them " how are you " E.g The Yoruba meaning of How are you is 'Bawo ni" or " Se alafia ni". Culturally, that greeting can only come from someone older than you. If you say it to an older person, you are perceived to be very rude and untrained. |

From your write-up, the following are the flaws you found in your husband; 1. He says you do not respect him because he is broke. 2. You said he had beaten you in the past, again you said its not serious beating but you had bruises, perhaps you both struggled and got bruised in the process. At least, none of these happens again despite the the current tension at home. 3. You said you used to look beautiful but not anymore because of financial hardship, you admitted he is broke now which means in the past, he took care of you or he he eased pressure on you to take care of yourself. 4. He does not appreciate the financial sacrifices you make, your writings does not suggest that you appreciate him either in fact, that is the reason you posted this in a public forum. 5. He takes care of the rent and school fees, from my experience as a married man, this is about 70 to 80% of the household expenditure. 6. No mention was made of infidelity, we can assume that he is a disciplined man. My inferences, About yourself 1. Based on your previous postings, you are 35 years old, you already have 4 children. You had a C section during your last birth which you said caused you to develop a high BP. you spend a lot on this monthly. 2. You are the quiet type, though you sometimes argue with him and your voice goes up 3. He says a "million" reason why you are not a good wife, you admitted 20% of them are true. Lets assume that you do same, though your own reasons are not yet up to a million. 4. You gave no clues about your level of earning, or your husband's. You are a family of 6, (4 children). You provide food, care for the children, school snacks, fuel for car and gen, gas filing etc etc, that's how your whole salary gets finished before mid month. My Advice Admit that you both have flaws, you have a structural financial problem which neither of you have control over. Your husband may be cranky because his ego is bruised over his financial incapability. What you said about him suggests he is a responsible man. Show some understanding and help him restore his ego 90% of the advice i have seen here still holds the traditional mentality of holding the man responsible for all the financial problems in the family. Home Responsibilities are for both parties, no man wants a liability as wife. It takes 2 to tango, particularly in this economic era. People advice you to start saving 50% of your earning, the man has same right to save for his retirement too. We know who will suffer if both of you becomes selfish. Both of you should cut your cloths according to the available resources. |
They should not have allowed him mention the medication used. Other criminals will borrow a cue from this. God help us |
This writer ( and me too) is having a good laugh at all of you that took him serious. How gullible can people be. He gave many clues to let you know he was pulling your legs. |
The writer ignored the opportunity costs of his advocated trade liberalization. The issue borders around our ability to sustain the practise. Opening our doors to foreign goods comes with consequences, it means we must have a war chest of foreign reserve and we must keep our exchange rate stable. There are one of 2 ways to ease pressure on our Exchange rate and our foreign reserves: 1. Increase exports and earn dollars. 2. Import replacement. Produce locally, spend less dollars. We are a mono product economy, 90% of our foreign exchange earnings comes from crude oil exports. Today, that source is threatened by the global run for cleaner energy. Do we generate enough dollars to fund our import bills. No!. remembered vividly how cement imports puts so much pressure on our dollar reserves during the Obasanjo era. The singular reason our naira devalued massively in 2016 was because our reserves was depleted to the point that we could not sustain the imports of economic goods. While his argument that Dangote cement at current price is exploitative, one wonders why Wapco, another cement manufacturer is struggling to stay afloat. Every developed nation practices one form of protectionism or the other particularly for the economic gains, for example, local rice production is critical to our food security. It is one of our stables. it is a weapon of war , you cannot leave it in the hands of others. . |
It takes a genius to come up with this logo. The image looks like the head of an eagle ( the symbol of Nigeria). The pointed base is the beak. and then if you look closely you will see a fusion of the letters I V and M. This is just mind blowing.

Why so much attention on N1 drop in price ?. The significance of the price drop is a confirmation that demand has dropped (because smuggling has reduced) following the border closure. If Government pays subsidy on 60million litres of fuel daily and half of it is smuggled through the borders. That is a colossal waste. Government is reported to be paying as much as N750B annullly on subsidy. Imagine if that reduces by half. That amount is enough to double our annual capital expenditure. |

Omooba77:https://punchng.com/well-produce-65-4-million-litres-of-petrol-others-daily-dangote/ Dangote Industries Limited has said its crude oil refinery is expected to produce 65.4 million litres of petrol, diesel, aviation fuel and kerosene daily when it comes on stream. The company, in a statement on Sunday, described it as the world’s largest single-train refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. It said the high volume of petroleum products from the refinery, located in Lagos, would transform Nigeria from a petrol import-dependent country to an exporter of refined petroleum products. According to the statement, the company’s plan is to satisfy Nigeria’s demand for petrol, aviation fuel, kerosene and diesel, leaving a surplus for export. The Group Executive Director, Strategy, Capital Projects and Portfolio Development, DIL, Devakumar Edwin, said the refinery was being designed to accommodate multiple grades of domestic and foreign crude, and process them into high-quality petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuels that would meet Euro V emissions’ specifications, plus polypropylene. He said the refinery would also include a crude distillation unit, single-train residual fluid catalytic cracking unit, diesel hydro-treating unit, continuous catalyst regeneration unit, alkylation unit, and a polypropylene unit. “The project will provide thousands of direct and indirect jobs and add value to Nigeria’s economic development. It will lead to significant skills transfer and technology acquisition opportunities in the country,” he added. Edwin said the company was also constructing the largest fertiliser plant in West Africa with the capacity to produce three million tonnes of urea per year. According to him, the Dangote fertiliser complex consists of ammonia and urea plants with associated facilities and infrastructure. “Dangote fertiliser project is planned to possess unique features like having the largest granulated urea fertiliser complex under development in the global fertiliser industry, with an investment of $2.0bn and a capacity of three million tonnes per annum, covering some 500 hectares of land,” he added. Edwin said Dangote fertiliser would guarantee a substantial saving of foreign exchange in Africa and create surplus urea for farmers to enhance production of food grains and vegetables. He noted that the fertiliser plant’s core indication included a massive employment generation, which would lead to a reduction of migration of people from rural to urban centres. : |
Omooba77:Dangote has capacity to process 650,000 bpd. Nigeria needs 400,000 bdp (barrels per day) of crude oil to meet it's local energy consumption ( petrol, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene and other bi-products). Dangote will export the balance of 250,000bpd. A barrel of crude oil is equivalent to 159litres. When the crude oil is refined, it gives 47% petrol. That is about 44.5million litres of petrol, enough to meet local demand.
