HzRF:Good point. You have the data up there, compare the variance between gubernatorial and presidential results for southeast and Buhari's strong holds. Tell us what you see. |
cheruv:Fault the logic instead of the emotional outburst. Tell us why it is no yarns |
The camp of GEJ are basing their win on a massive block votes from the South East and South-south geopolitical zones. What a day dream. Comparing the results of gubernatorial Election results of 2011 with the presidential results ( gubernatorial elections were held one week after presidential) it is clearly obvious that the election was massively rigged in favour of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, unfortunately for GEJ, the pVc card reader won't allow that to happen again. No of Voters Gubernatorial. No. Of voters presidential Difference Abia state. 752,361 1,185,000. 430,000 Enugu 479,490. 808,0000. 330,000 Imo. 1,405,000. 740,363. 665,000 Rivers. 1,373,469. 1,850,000. 480,000 I know some GEJites will dismiss this on the basis that people were more enthusiastic about presidential elections than gubernatorial elections, smart thinking you will say, the rider is how come the pattern is only peculiar to the south-south and southeast regions. Weren't the northerners as enthusiastic about Buhari as the Southerners in 2011.

world1:My dear brother, nobody owns a thread on nairaland. Even the owner, Seun, cannot lay claim to a thread. The ethics of online blog is free, fair and authentic information sharing. |
How did you get to the isolated island in the first place ? Did your boat capsize or was he dropped from a parachute. |
PapaBrowne:You point is valid, that is why the OP shouldn't have criticized me for giving an alternative source. Buyers have more options and can then make better and informed decisions. |
Very intelligent and informed debate going on here. I agree that devaluation of the Naira is a good one coming at a time when Nigerians are yearning for change. I feel the exchange rate should not be left to float but should be set within a trading window within which it will make local production competitve. Doing this rather than taxing luxury goods will discourage smuggling. On the flip side, We need machineries, expatriates and raw material inputs ( the ones that cannot be sourced locally) to drive the industrial sector. The category of imported goods that is required to drive the industrial sector should be import tax free. Government should also give the companies importing such machineries subsidy in form of tax rebates. Government should also grant tax holiday to any companies with at least 50% local content. |
Matthewbriggs:You have succeeded in giving us another strong reason to vote GMB. By removing the subsidy, GEJ has complicated nigeria's economic woes. We now pay N32 per litre as against the N2.30 we were paying as subsidy before the removal. That translates into several trillions of dollars. All of which will end as exhaust smoke behind our inefficient transport systems. What this means is that capital projects will suffer, salaries will not be paid. Our debt burden will increase, we are back into the old days of Paris club debt servicing, what makes it worse now is that we are not borrowing at 0 interest rate from IMF, rather we are borrowing from the domestic market at rates of more than 10%. They are even planning another one They labelled diaspora investment funds. Go and find out how much bonds and treasury bills the CBN have sold, how much we are owing the domestic market. Find out how much government is spending in servicing these debts. These are funds that should have been channeled into building the much needed infrastructures. |
world1:Rubbish talk, and you think father Nzamujo will be happy with you. people like you are reasons new entrants are scared to enter into farming practise. you are an exploiter. How can you be selling at N50 per seed. Even at N20, you will make profit. when I say Shonghai agent I mean someone who trades Songhai products. I buy from him too. |
The seeds are available at songhai in Benin republic for N20 per seed. Call this number 08092369060. He is an agent. |
The girl is correct after all. 1+ 0=10 in base 2 (binary numbers). That's digital thinking. The girl will grow up to be another Bill Gates or Steve Jobs |
I have heard people question the collection rate in the North East particularly Yobe and Borno state which are the most affected states. The allegations are baseless. Here are reasons to justify my position. When there are wars, unless people are killed, they simply relocate from one location to another. So we don't expect them to be missing when a count is done. It is announced that Boko haram had killed about 20,000 people. We know that in War situations, it is mostly children and women that are affected and children are not of voting age. Therefore, That number of dead ( may their souls rest in peace) is not enough to cause a drastic reduction in the voting population. In 2011, there were 2,380,957 registered voters in Borno of which of 1,176,646 people voted. In 2015, INEC had registered only 1,934,079 of which 1,353,855 had so far collected their PVC. About 600,000 people have not been able to collect the PVC. Between 2011 and 2015, About 1,000,000 ( difference between registered voters in 2011 and people who have collected their PVC in 2015) are probably dead or internally displaced. For Yobe state, 1,373,796 were registered in 2011 of which 662,115 people voted. In 2015, 1,099,970 were registered of which 769,979 people had collected their PVCs. About 300,000 people have not been able to collect their PVC. Between 2011 and 2015, 550,000 are unaccounted for. This are probably people internally displaced or outrightly dead. |
A PRESIDENT WHO CHOSE TO DESTROY HIS OWN COUNTRY FOR CHEAP POPULAR GAIN IS THE WORST ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE. JONATHAN HAS GIVEN US SUBSIDY IN EXCHANGE FOR OUR DESTINY http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/petrol-subsidy-rises-by-1142-in-seven-weeks/ The amount payable by the Federal Government to oil marketers as subsidy on petrol has risen by over 1,142 per cent in the past seven weeks. As of January 21 this year, the subsidy payable by the government on every litre of petrol was N2.84, but the latest information on the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency’s website on Monday showed that the amount payable as subsidy on the product was now N35.28 per litre. The PPPRA puts the current landing cost of the product at N106.79 per litre; while the total cost, comprising landing cost and distribution margin, was put at N122.28. However, the product still sells for the regulated price of N87 per litre at filling stations across the country. Components that make up the landing cost include cost and freight, N95.23; traders’ margin, N1.47; lightering expenses, N4.16; NPA charge, N0.77; financing, N1.37; jetty depot thorough put charge, N0.80; and storage charge, N3.00. The distribution margin is made up of retailers, N4.60; transporters, N2.99; dealers, N1.75; bridging fund, N5.85; marine transport average, N0.15; and administration charge, N0.15. As of February 27 this year, the Federal Government was said to be incurring N1.38bn as subsidy on petrol consumed within the country on a daily basis at a rate of N34.51 per litre. Figures from the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, show that 40 million litres of petrol are consumed daily in the country; translating into a daily subsidy of N1.38bn on the product at N34.51 per litre. The PPPRA had put the product cost and freight elements of imported petrol at N94.46; with other cost items like traders’ margin, lightering expenses, NPA, financing, jetty depot through put charge, and storage charge put at N1.48, N4.16, N0.78, N1.34, N0.80, and N3.00 respectively. The landing cost for petrol then, according to the agency, was N106.02. The PPPRA also pegged the various distribution margins for retailers, transporters, dealers, bridging fund, marine transport average, and administrative charge at N4.60, N2.99, N1.75, N5.85, N0.15, and N0.15, respectively. The open market price of petrol as of that date, according to the agency, was N121.51. http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/petrol-subsidy-rises-by-1142-in-seven-weeks/ |

Under Jonathan's government, subsidised price of kerosnene is N50, yet it is sold at N150 in the open market. The friends of gej corners N100 on every litter. The practise have been on for 6 years. Under Jonathan's watch, 400,000 barrels of crude oil iis stolen daily unabbated. |
It is true that after the rebasing, 86% of the GDP is non-oil,the lie in the statement though is that you require dollars from oil export to drive the remaining 86% of the GDP. This s because the remaining 86% is related greatly to imports. Our economy is 80% driven by imports and dollar is trading at N220 as against the previous N135 when the government came into power. The statement is a discredit to the current government because they have failed in creating alternative export markets that should coushin our dollar demands. We import petroleum products, rice, wheat (bread and indomie), sugar, machienries, vegetable oil, milk, industrial raw materials etc. The government of Buhari would help Nigeria develop an economy based mostly on local contents. He has demonstared that philosphy in his past administration. |
babsf:I have nothing to gain in discouraging him, I am a farmer too, I am sharing with u factual market information. It's best to work with accurate figures than numbers you cooked up in your fantasies. Chicken selling Market women sells their chicken at about N1500 to N2000 depending on size, they buy at very low prices of N800 to N1000, and many times you have to be the one to take it to their locations. go to shoprite or any other chain supermarkets and find out how much they buy processed Broiler chicken from farmers. business is not about sentiments or emotion, it is about reality !! |
What a shame. The young lady that was interviewed looked really unkept |
wahleymanutd:You sound like this is your first attempt. It doesn't matter how much you spent raising them, the market determines the price. Per kg price is N350 to N400 by processors. Market women will even buy lower and won't pay cash. |
Who is going to buy at that price ? Are you sure you have done ur market survey ? |
Read again, the phase 1 of the project was 75km. 60% of it was done. Phase 2 ran into hitches. I ply that road all the time and I know what I am saying. |
Rad1cal:Earlier, the Minister of Works, Onolememen, said that the Phase I of the project was 75 km long and that Phase II suffered a setback because of funding and technical challenges. He said the project has, however, recorded over 60 percent completion, adding that 61 other roads have been completed across the country. Chigold101:The entire lenght of the Benin-Ore road is about 250km. Less than 30km was refurbished by GEJ. |
According to CIA, total road network in Nigeria is given below. This includes states and federal toads, Roadways total: 193,200 km paved: 28,980 km unpaved: 164,220 km (2004) So Jonathan has refurbished and rebuilt 90% of Nigerian existing roads. Like someone said, is it the road to hell or to Otuoke ? Government should be intelligent with their lies. They should at least credit us with little intelligence. We can't all be dumb and clueless in a nation of 170 million people. For those who had yelled themselves hoarse over Benin-ore road refurbishment, the Government of GEF worked on less than 30km of that road and this is mostly around the Ofosu, Okada axis. I will quote what the minister of works said at the commissioning : Earlier, the Minister of Works, Onolememen, said that the Phase I of the project was 75 km long and that Phase II suffered a setback because of funding and technical challenges. He said the project has, however, recorded over 60 percent completion, adding that 61 other roads have been completed across the country. tit:So, based on your analysis, Jonathan has build from scratch the equivalence of 20 PH to Lagos Roads ( or 10 of ph to Lagos if it's dual carriage) in the last 5 years, can you do us a favor of listing these roads and their distances. That should proof Fashola wrong like you would like us to believe. Oh! Blind me !, new roads were constructed in the air and TAN will soon distribute 3D glasses to help us see them. ![]() |
omode2:Slatted floor is what you see in the following pictures
|
Skillbobralph:The attached picture is the "mumuest" I have seen. Don't you know that government budgets only what is available. The bulk of the missing N30trillion is from stolen crude oil. Nigeria looses 400,000 barrels of oil daily !. Do the Maths
