it seems the goal is not to have us get to a cashless society - from the looks, it is a psuedo-fiscal policy aimed at reducing liquidity, but that is absolute meecrob!! of what use is a fiscal policy when FG can wake up one beer-filled evening and draw-down $2 billion for poverty alleviation to be distributed to all states ASAP Atypical of our Federal Finance moguls to junk us around on several monetary/fiscal/voodoo policies |

The Serpent - easily history's oldest, diffused and largely misunderstood symbolism in popular culture today. I say diffused because obvious culture-overlaps abound with regards to the symbolic values it represents. Why Serpents have come to be closely associated with wisdom is not completely lost to me; the Bible reveals its origins/nature from the dawn of time . I defer to Biblical references largely due to its marked similarities with much ancient cultures/civilizations from Mayan, Mesopotamia then Greece most interestingly about its version of the Story of Creation. I shall skip a huge swath of literature and post my understanding of the symbolism. The Serpent is neither a Creature/Snake/Lucifer as most people have conveniently mixed perceptions between the literal and the metaphorical into one "seemingly" cohesive thought, trivializing the deeper message and focusing on the moral drama that followed. (understanding it incorrectly altogether) Contrary to popular belief - The Serpent represents God's Wisdom; his Dual Nature (Order/Chaos) clearly inherent in the very fabric of the Cosmos itself. The Serpent did not Tempt/Deceive Eve - Our (human) Dual Nature explored by Instinct what was already there in the first place. Mathew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. The quote is still rocks (heavy) in movies - especially when used by a bad guy ![]() |

@OP no one is born into a religion, the crime of dulling-awareness that our parents commit deserves worse punishment than hell itself. (just kidding) The problem with Religion is that it is closely tied to child upbringing rather than universal morals such as love, honesty, fairness etc. our parents teach us that those qualities are good simply because God says so not because they are actually good in a universal sense. So if some other religion i.e (y know which) says kill the infidels - that will be good to do because God says so and at such a tender age when the mind is receptive and malleable to the whims and misconceptions of our parents, we are cemented and super-glued into a religion with out the chance to actually taste and assess teh quality of what is been given to us. hence a crime of dulling awareness |

I admire him as a "TRUE" Nationalist but to say he never had moments of Doubt and Acted on them is to defraud history of its facts and prepare a false future that has certainly propagated the ethnic friction that exists today. ezeagu: Crude Oil:So the stories that he: 1: abandoned the National Youth Movement (carrying its Igbo members with it) 2: supported the attempt to create an independent state of Biafra, traveling extensively in 1968 to win recognition for Biafra and help from other African countries. in 1969 he realized the hopelessness of the cause and threw his support for the Federal Govt urging Igbos to forget secessionist plans Just confirming if I got the facts right ![]() |
Desola:I am not pro-yoruba and I forgive you for not understanding this about Fashola Fashola has been able to perform what is "Normally Expected" of an elected governor of Nigeria - HIS JOB!!! and he did all this with a greedy, ignorant, power-hungry and corrupt tyrant like Tinubu for a God-Father. Donald Duke did not have a God-Father the likes of Tinubu to contend with when he was Gov. It takes a man of courage in the face of intimidating numbers (at least 75% LAHA members are in Tinubu's pocket and they are more than enough to impeach him) What about Governors who did not have to be in the unfortunate situation as Fashola, E.g Alao-Akala, Ohakim Ikedim, the Far-north northern Governors ![]() |

Perhaps we are looking at Nationalism from a "Traditional" (Pan-Africanist) perspective. Nigeria has seen decades of rot and strangely it is still tied together. (some may say unwillingly) I am beginning to suspect there is a Nationalist Movement or should I say "Nationalist Spirit" among a good number of Nigerians cutting across ethnic and religious lines. There are "Educated", "Politically-Aware", "Socially-Conscious", "Religiously-Tolerant" Nationalists among us, what is absent or has been a back-breaking Fly-in-the-ointment is the intimidating and continued growth of these two phenomenon Corruption+Religious Politics. Every "Democratic Nation" is actually a sophisticated system of Socio-Political and Religious "Institutions" that its citizenry nurture to a point where Nationhood is a Powerful Idea that goes beyond ethnicity, religion, political and ideological differences Corruption is something we are all aware off so i won't argue the FACT beyond saying that it has a strong quality of putrescence . The longer you leave it as it is, the stronger and more rotten it becomes, making it extremely difficult to deal with. Which is why it is commonly seen as Very Normal in the Nigerian Situation Religious Politics Politics is a One wheel on the Cart of Democracy and when one wheel is bad, it has a powerful effect on the direction of democracy. All you need is for one wheel to go bad and you can have a nasty driving experience with the remaining 3 wheels still functional. Now add Religion (The other wheel of Democracy) and you have a fatal accident When Politicians use Religion as a tool to play dirty-politics they utilize a powerful force over the people they govern because people are more than likely to act on religious lines than on political or social ones. When we (with Nationalistic Spirits) can begin a process of stemming the tide of corruption and religious intolerance, ethnicity and social leanings are all but a weak tool for the ignorant and illiterate. the question is HOW? |

Religion by definition : A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Atheist by definition : atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings. Atheist, agnostic, infidel, skeptic refer to persons not inclined toward religious belief or a particular form of religious belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity or of divine beings. An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from commitment to any religious doctrine. Infidel means an unbeliever, especially a nonbeliever in Islam or Christianity. A skeptic doubts and is critical of all accepted doctrines and creeds.Source: dictionary.com If we are to go by this, a "Believer's Universe" is anchored solely on his Religious beliefs - everything outside religion is subsumed into this universe as secondary evidence supporting the tenets of the religion e.g God+Science an atheist on the other hand does not lack belief but simply does not accept the belief in religion |

@Trex73 Historically there have been accounts (either through Holy texts and traditions) of unearthly entities that humans can only perceive through visions, hallucinogens, trauma, hunger or enduring spiritual meditation and awareness. I am careful not to indulge in any kind of Magik with the help of known or unknown entities (through evocations or other means) simply for this reason. a common thread in most Holy texts is the transformation of humans to gods, from Greece to Africa. but let us dwell on the more popular Bible-version. The story of Creation and the Fall of Man is a sum of a pristine level of awareness prepared for humans - Immortality and Revelation (Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge). These are the Lost Keys to Spiritual Elevation that puts our consciousness on the same wave-length with the Creator. Man has been through the centuries devising ways/means to get on that wave-length with limited success. (with the aid of ethereal entities whose purpose or intentions we do not know but make sacrifices and vows to). You must discern this simple Truth. Man is a (fallen) god, those entities will be nowhere near our level if not for our present state. With Spiritual introspection and self-study of the various phenomena from Visions, Astral Travel to Magik, u alone can achieve some level of awareness but know this, Our physical bodies on this plane of existence limits us severely to other planes of existence which we try to reach via other entities (with dangerous consequences) |
Why is it that when freaks here the word Gay, they get angry bashing Gay stuff? I think there is some inferiority complex right there? If being Gay is abnormal, you should be happy they are beneath you, obviously the reaction tells differently ![]() |

Have Faith, Read and Understand JESUS 101 John 1:9, 10.—"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar," Acts 13:38 "Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, Isaiah 38:17 Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. Forgiveness is received and not gotten. You don't get your sins forgiven. Your sins have already been forgiven. the only basis for the forgiveness of sin is the Death of Jesus. You are not forgiven because you repent, do penance, make restitution, observe religious ceremonies and rituals or do work of any kind. Forgiveness is not based upon an act of yours but upon the work of God through Christ by grace. God will still hold you accountable for your Sins though (You Reap What You Sow)The first step is not a Leap of Faith but a shuffle, Doubt itself is a sign of Faith in the wrong direction. Jesus paid the price for your Sins, Shame and Doubt is the only thing hindering you from receiving your forgiveness |
