Trust ACN to hit a dog when its down they are not without their own ills - lest we forget. True GEJ will sooner wear new shoes than solve Nigeria's problems. It is not up to ACN alone, we (the people) must begin to know our rights and demand them |
Well External Auditors work with what they are given. try to get your hands on the Management Accounts and compare with the Financial Accounts. The Financial Accounts are what is given to External Auditors to work their Fraud-detection Magic, If a corrupt Financial Controller has been able to distort the Financial Accounts to look Clean, Then the Auditors will report a Clean Bill of Health. External Auditors value their reputation because that is the only reason they are in business, they won't risk it for anything else. Arthur Anderson lost a huge slice of her reputation because of the ENRON Scandal |
In light of what you have just outlined it seems your company does not have an internal audit/risk unit. it may also not have a reporting policy/standard around IFRS. That alone opens your company to fraud from internal sources especially if the source is a Financial Controller, they usually an Executive Director who is also on the Executive Committee (very powerful personnel) The easiest way is to seek external (independent) financial auditors (is it a private or public company) . you can also pick up published accounts from the previous year and compare figures. An indication of fraud is usually when the company tries to restate its accounts in the previous year when it plans to publish the current one. Some Fraud-prone Financial Controllers are easy to pick out from a crowd. 1: They have the company pay rent for living in their own houses 2: They are usually on extensive International Training un-related to their core job description 3: They want more cars than others their level. 4: They approve huge loans to themselves above their limit If you have a treasury unit and HR, they are usually the ones to ask |
Martian:Guy there is a reason. Satan knew of God's plan for redemption but he did not know when, so he splashed out planting myths all through history with the sole intent of causing this controversy of parallel myths, ohh he also planted dinosaur bones and ibo midgets in Anambra state ![]() |
Religious crisis is a simple matter to understand - quite straight-forward really, however resolving it is a hugely complicated matter as evidenced through history. Government should come out and make an open statement asking the sect members to come forward and dialogue with it with the view to ending the crisis. It is of critical importance recognize that no citizen who has breached of the Constitution and by virtue of the stance assumed will continue to, deserves the privilege that the Federal Government must stoop to dialogue with it. It is not unlike the US Government negotiating with Terrorists. Nigeria is a multi-religious, multi-ethnic society, If there is a matter that wrongly marginalizes a certain ethnic or religious group then the matter should be put up dialogue and resolution. Boko Haram is strictly a Religious phenomenon that threatens Nigerian citizens of whom the Federal Government has provided Freedom and Protection for under the Constitution. If the proposed approach is taken then every Machete-wielding zealot will demand attention from the Government. Nigeria must not be seen as "soft" on Ethnic/Religious crimes. people must learn to live/understand others. rather then demand preferential treatment and threaten isolation. Dialogue is necessary but Boko Haram must understand concession and compromise Government should pardon all Yusuffiya members who have left home during the crisis to come back and re-integrated with their immediate families without any harassment by security agents or ridiculing by members of the public. The impact of the crisis is not localized to Yusuffiya alone. the Nation as a whole has suffered unnecessary insecurity and negative international perception. If Yusuffiya refuse to exists within the provision of the Constitution. Integration without Assimilation is like forcing a fox to live with Hens. They must understand what the Law says and what the Constitution allows. If you cannot live your beliefs in peace on earth, perhaps Yusuffiya should relocate to Heaven where their purported ideals will have meaning. Government should make a public statement on the killing of some prominent members of the sect, and sent letters of apology to their families and also make arrangement through legislation to pay compensation to the families of late Muhammed Yusuff, Baba Fugu Mohammed and Alhaji Buji Fai.From all accounts (Unofficial Accounts) The Federal Government has reacted rashly and wrongly by engaging in extra-judicial killings of its citizens. Unfortunately FG will not recant its position, however they can make amends by understanding the Yusuffiya and her nuances and provide a point of contact with key leaders on a strategy for peaceful and tolerant existence in a multi-faceted society It may also in the name peace take up the responsibility of the families of these people for at least the next ten years, their feeding, education etc. That all Yusuffiya members detained in prisons waiting to be prosecuted are set free in the name of peace and this should make the end of all arrest and detention issue. Government should set up a committee to look into the issue of paying compensation to all those who were affected during the crisis both sect members, security personnel and members of the public. In Federal Government Diplomacy; this will be a hard-rock to swallow. (even with lubrication) Imprisonment has stocked the fires of martyrdom, it will not kill whatever passion the Yusuffiya hold to. it will only strengthen it with each passing day. Setting up Centers for skills acquisition/rehabilitation run by Yusuffiya members who understand the need for peaceful co-existence is what is immediately relevant. You cannot achieve closure with compensation, admittance of guilt and apologies. it will only confirm suspicions and re-affirm the Yusuffiya position as it is not a sustainable approach. it is a typical Nigerian "Settlement" It never lasts long The committee should also look into the issue of reconstructing the destroyed mosque of the sect at Goni-Damagari in Jere Local Government Area. While government agrees to commit itself to peace, all members of the sect are expected to remain calm and ensure peace in the state. If the FG re-constructs destroyed Mosques, then they must Churches. perhaps pagan shrines destroyed during the crisis. It is the Constitutional Duty of the Federal Government to Protect the Freedom of its citizens and keep the Peace by whatever means necessary. It is the duty of the citizens to enshrine Peace in Society. Yusuffiya is a Religions Sect and Religion is a personal matter that must not affect the public in a negative way. Government should also allow the sect members to choose three persons as their Imams and deputy Imams and go about their preaching and activities peacefully without breaching peace, security and law and order. Sect members should submit to government; list of those to be compensated and the amount involved for approval by government and modalities for their compensation. It is not the direct (forceful) responsibility of Federal Government to interfere in internal religious matters especially after a crisis of this magnitude. it is the responsibility of sect leaders to respect the provision of the constitution and act accordingly, should their beliefs demand relief outside the Constitution then whether they choose to or not, they are in breach of the Constitution and whatever they do will be construed as a threat to the peace of this Nation. They must approach avenues for raising issues that address their demands in a democratic fashion. not by Violence Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding. |

Speaks volumes of the class of citizens in Kano, Dejected, Poverty-Stricken, Brain-washed and severely lacking in number of intellectuals working in the State Government. If they sat back and watched while the State's resources were Evil can only get stronger if Good (Clueless) Men continue to Sit on the fence |
Glad to be of assistance - Good to know you are doing quite well. |
at least 1 in 10 people have this experience at some time of their life. I know i have stopped having flying dreams but i never knew what to make of them. http://www.dreammoods.com/cgibin/flyingdreams.pl?method=exact&header=dreamid&search=flyingintro Flying dreams fall under a category of dreams known as lucid dreams. Lucid dreams occur when you become aware that you are dreaming. Many dreamers describe the ability to fly in their dreams as an exhilarating, joyful, and liberating experience. |

@frosbel, as much as many in society (including myself) cannot avoid the case of religion and God and what is right and wrong, you must understand that these "Holy Books" were originally conceived as a tool for Social Guidance and Personal (Spiritual) Improvement. It is obvious (with the benefit of hindsight) from history that the Bible and its Characters, much like ancient societies centuries before it are just one recycled Religion that changes ever so slightly as it spreads through culture/tradition when selfish Men of God turned it into a tool for social control. We can ascribe all God traits of perfection and immortality but we (with our human thought deficiencies) also malign the picture of God's perfection by also giving him human failings |
Even if it is in perfect condition. i just hope it was not replaced transmission. My colleague had a stupid experience where he lost his transmission due to wrong reaction to treating an overheating engine. he has the EOD 2007 as well. His transmission was replaced at the cost of N320k outside workmanship (N25k). The replacement transmission is still giving problems after all the wahala and spending on it. which is why i am seriously concerned about the transmission. When can i come for an inspection and where is the location. If I like it I will try to re-negotiate for N1.5M My last question, how long has the owner been using it. Thanks |
