lekside44:
sure, programming is not about the lang., but the logic. i can write the same problem in over a hundred land and get the same result. once you can think like a programmer, what you need to do is to leaern the syntax of the lang of your choice. however, some lang have some adv over others and pocesses some disavantages.
and who is telling you that present day languages will sooner or later not go the way of their predecessors. in fact, research and report shows that the way we program today is noting compared to the programming lang that will make the computer have artificial intelligent close to those of human. anyway, one major problem with older lang is that they are CUI based while newer ones are GUI based. there are very little difference between basic and VB.
May I correct you there. there is a Big Difference between BASIC and Visual Basic and it is not in the Design or Concept. it is in the actual nature.

Basic is a High-Level Instruction Code and it is basically instruction-driven

Visual Basic (VB) is an Event-driven Programming Language. it is mostly Visual because of its associated development environment (GUI) from Microsoft for its COM programming model

I've read all your coments - both the positive and the negative ones. All I know and can say is that the girl's vision is real, HELL IS REAL and HEAVEN IS ALSO REAL. No Idolater will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven (fact). If you're bowing down to ANY image in the name of worship, you are heading for hell (thats what Jesus told the girl and it is also found in the Bible).

For those of you who do not believe that Visions of hell are real, you also do not believe in the Book of Revelation.

Finally friends, Jesus is the ONLY way that leads to everlasting life and He is coming soon (infact right away). Embrace Him today or face HELL!
Visions are not real in substance they are only as real as manner in which they are interpreted. Visions of the future seem real because our brains are keyed to find associations in events that will lend credibility to such visions. It seems the only people who have visions of Heaven or Hell are the ones who have been touched by Religion. I am sure If you never came in contact with religion you won't have visions of Hell/Heaven out of the blues

Wow so much venom and frothing at the mouth.
It seems you're still unable to answer the simple questions posed to you about your personal stance on this issue.
Why don't you point out the "infinite stream of fallacious replies"?
The argument is quite coherent.
We see a man burning a book, we see adherents of the book killing people not directly related to the action.
We do not see other adherents of the book condemning the murder of these people and we do not see adherents of the book showing understanding of the fact that humans have the rights of free expression and the right not to be murdered for perceived religious slight.
Why is this so?
Simple, they are FANatics, When I wore a Barca Jersey to watch the Finals at the galleria where Arsenal Fanatics bled to stupidity after losing. lo and behold as we left the hall, it started with a bump, then a jeer, then it really got heated outside when area boys from the onikan environs were spilling all over the streets. I barely got away. adherents are fanatical about their religion and when you become more than a fan, reason goes out the window. tis from this root you get genocidal religious killings (i.e Jos), terrorists and soldiers of God. the fatal consequences are just as natural as collateral damage a flood does to a settlement. there is no one is to blame not even God whose Fanatics went on a rampage.

There are a good majority of Nigerians and Nairalanders who are so deluded to the point that even if it rains fire and brimestone, they will close they eyes and say the breeze is just right for them to relax. They Worship Men and claim to Serve God, They Glorify Evil and claim to the sanctified by the Holy Spirit, The swell the ranks of Souls going to Hell and claim to hold a valid visa to Heaven.

Erastus, Ibori and co will return home someday Free men and they will have their minions to praise them for persevering through trials and tribulations, "The Devil is a Liar" is all you will hear from their mouths.

One day the bough will break and all our fragile comforts and illusions of righteousness, false safety and continuity will be shattered and we must face our problems squarely or die from them.

Corruption must be cut out like a diseased limb that threatens to kill the entire body or busted like over-ripe pimples on a face that so dearly needs to be cleaned.

Now all that is left is clearing those "Reasonable Doubts" Being Deeply Religious is not the same as being Deeply Spiritual

Your Arguments are pointedly slanted (my way of saying you have a chip on your shoulder) and in some quarters Deceptive-by-design by this i mean

1: You Blanket-Label all Non-Religious, God-doubting and God Dis-believing folks as Atheists. The Belief in God(s) is mostly a Religious trait evolved from either constant associations from Childhood or Profound Experiences later in life that challenge one's spirituality. not the observation of the wondrous nature of the universe or its species and the HOW/WHY questions it presents.

2: You pose Individualistic postures from several "named" Atheists as the Effective Position of all Atheists (and Non-Atheists and Non-Religious folks) even when you know that Christianity is profoundly diverse in its interpretation or understanding of the Bible, the only thing that holds true for Christians is that there is a God,all other condiments of this exotic soup is based on a key ingredient - FAITH which tells us to abandon our Doubts and Disbelief on the basis of NOTHING baring all allusions to Reality and Discounting available FACTS about the issue.

Christianity Etc › Zimbabwe: Karoi Man Raped At 'snake Point' Nl Religious Majors Any Insights? by lagerwhenindoubt(op): 3:21pm On Mar 29, 2011
I'd be highly interested in knowing what the ritual signifies (if it has any spiritual import at all)

http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201103280370.html

Chinhoyi — A catchy welcome insignia, with a scantily dressed witch skillfully gliding on a broom, announced every visitor the arrival to the small town of Karoi.

In recent years, Karoi became famed for a jay-walking he-goat, who so loved women and work that he chased after our female kind and escorted them to and from work.

The he-goat believed by many to have been bestowed with a curse of an avenging spirit, would leave Chikangwe Township at 7am and walk along with women to work in the town centre and walk back to Chikangwe township after 5pm.

While people worked in town, he would forage the bins and scrounge for any food.

He died in 2007 after a freak accident with a bus.

The same stretch of road, was last week another scene of the strange and unthinkable.

A man was offered a lift as a token of appreciation for helping a stranded female motorist but got the shock of his life when he was shown a massive snake at the back seat of the car before being ordered to be intimate with her.

The 24-year-old man, who cannot be named for professional reasons, was going to his Chikangwe home from Chikangwe Sports Bar that Tuesday night at around 9pm when he saw the woman believed to be in her early 30s attending to her car on the roadside.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the incident adding that there were no leads so far.

"The woman had her bonnet open and she asked him to help attend to the vehicle.

"She was scrubbing the terminals of the battery and he agreed to help her," he said.

After a while she started the vehicle and it responded before she offered him a lift to his home as a token of appreciation for assisting her.

They drove for a short distance before he started feeling hot and tried to open the windows but in vain.

He asked the woman to open the windows for him, but she shocked him when she immediately applied brakes and stopped before asking him if he was brave.

The bewildered man then asked what she meant by that before he got the shock of his life when she asked him to look at the backseat where upon looking he saw a very large brownish grey snake.

It reportedly covered the whole backseat and extending to the driver's seat.

"The head and tail of the snake could not be seen.

"He could only see that the snake was breathing," he said.

Realising that he had panicked, she made a hasty turn and drove off towards Chikangwe bus terminus where she parked her vehicle - a tinted white Honda model - she immediately undressed from the waist down.

She ordered him to be intimate with her.

He reportedly noticed tattoos on her thighs and another dragon tattoo on the naval area.

They were intimate once before she thanked him for the service and warned him against telling anyone that night.

"He was warned against telling anyone for that night or risked death," he said.

The woman told him to get out of the vehicle and drove off while still naked.

The man made a report at Karoi Police Station the following day and went to the hospital for a check-up.

Inspector Mabgweazara urged people to be wary and avoid using private vehicles and expressed concern at the increase in cases of men who were being raped, especially after being offered lifts.

Whether this is true or false, there have been myths and mystery over the past year, since men started reporting about women raping them, especially after being offered lifts.

Whatever has caused the upsurge of these matters, the country will find out.

This country has since early last year, received nine such cases and for those who do not believe in the incidents, the question is why are these men reporting fake cases of abuse?

There have been arguments that once one such story is reported, many people want to report similar cases, yet another question remains as to what that person will benefit from reporting fake incidents.

But what makes it interesting is that among the men who have been abused by the women are police officers.

In all the cases, the victims remain anonymous and no one has been arrested.

That the incidents have been reported in Guruve, Lalapanzi, Bulawayo, Karoi, Norton and Harare makes the issue widespread in terms of the area covered.

Also that the methodology changes with each situation, makes it an interesting puzzle.

Or rather is it a campaign to tarnish the image of women, whose meteoric rise to positions of power in later day Zimbabwe has left many men puzzled?

Others believe it is a tell-tale, a story told by people who want to enjoy fame, but at whose expense?

Whatever the case might be, Zimbabwe must get to the bottom of this matter and say who is fooling who or what is happening to our country.

Politics › Re: 10 Things To Learn From Japan by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 2:25pm On Mar 29, 2011
I really don't get nairalanders these days  undecided All the OP is saying is that Japan demonstrates a rare virtue of Nationhood that Nigerians should aspire to demonstrate when things are tough. There are 16 major ethnic groups in Japan with different religions from Islam, Hindu, Shinto, Buddhism, Brazilian Hoodoo etc. The one time when Ethnic and Religious diversity usually blinds people to their Conscience and Humanity (Crisis Situations). They chose to look beyond their differences and work as one.

It is a sorry sight to read how posters come here to discount that virtue of Nationhood and start saying R.tarded lines like
How  did you know all these thingshuh It was on the news that they didn't allow foreign media into certain places
It was all over the news everyday and the world watched.

maclatunji:
So how does this affect you and I over a thousand miles away in Nigeria?
Even If the disaster happened in Nigeria like the Recent Flood Caused by the Dam or the Ikeja Bomb Incidents or Killings in Jos, Do you see the hand of common Nigerians working to ease the pain or even Churches helping out. When it comes to Haiti or even Japan, Nigeria will jump on her feet and start to Donate Millions of Dollars it refuses to use on its own people when they suffer similar crisis. guy it affects us right here. it shows you what levels of Humanity Nigerians have fallen to and how much work we need to do to get there.

Just as a "sidely" comment, can all the Satan-haters Please Please stop blaming Satan for all the Evil than Man is evidently responsible for. Sure he has a sweet tongue and is a pretty good liar and a good marketer as well. Deep down we know who is responsible  wink the ones seeking redemption and who will surely be held responsible for their actions.

Genesis 6:5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.
Homosexuality is a choice not a Spiritual Ailment or a Case of Demon-Possession (as Rev. OLAADEGBU would have us believe ) We all have innate desires, how we choose to fulfill them is our choice not the Devil's mind-control skills (How could he possess God-anointed Priests!!  shocked). Leave a bunch of straight guys in a prison cell long enough, they will choose to fulfill their se.xual desires one way or another. Some just do not need the right conditions to fulfill their desires or make their way of life. It is a Choice and God certainly did not make that choice for Man either  huh

This (the back 'n frontin) is getting really worn.

The Question is Why did God Make Homosexuals - Quite Open-ended if you ask me huh is responsible for the perambulating going on here.
We can break down

1: Did God Create Man in his own Image? (What does this truly mean)
2: Did God Create Man with a Baseline Genetic Code ensuring that his life-sustaining biology remains the same from generation to generation (CAPITAL NO for Non-Evolutionists) baring differences in Race, our Biological remains the same across board.

I have seen Children as little as 5-10 demonstrate extreme affection for same sex even when both parents are straight and narrow. Is the Devil to blame for Homosexuality or is Man responsible. If Man is responsible, is it in his nature (Perhaps a latent/suppressed biological or psychological trait). huh

Etuhu may have his reasons to be angry and violent, in a Babaric society it may have been okay to launch an attack and break a man's jaw in the process, hell i'll kick him in the nuts too. but this is a Modern day Society with Civil Rules.
