The misconception that anyone who is not a Muslim is automatically a Christian is what is causing all these unecessary actions and reactions. Saddam's army was a VERY REAL THREAT to a weak Saudi security apparatus hence the presence of US millitary on Saudi soil - the primary excuse Osama gave for attacking the WTC.

The invasion of Iraq was simply to dislodge Saddam and weaken his ability to threaten other middle eastern countries including Iran. The war was over in less than 6 weeks . . . the collapse of Iraq was PRIMARILY due to muslim-on-muslim terrorism.

I still dont understand what this has got to do with 9/11? Are you saying the US invaded Saddam so the US soldiers can leave the mid east and not need to protect the arab govt since saddam has been removed? Hence Osama would not have an excuse for another 9/11?

We are missing the point here. As stated by the US secretary of State at the UN Assembly in Feb 2003 was that the US neede to invade Iraq to destroy the WMD in Sadddams possession. Collin Powel held a test tube in his hand and told the UN Saddam had mobile labs that  could deplore WMD within 45 mins.

Collin Powel and US did not succeed as they didn’t get the UN approval. The official intention was not to get rid of a tyrant and that is the issue here. WMD was never found so was the war justified? My ans is No so what of all the lives lost as a result of this war. The US soldiers killed and the widows and orphans of Iraq as a result of an acknowledged intelligence failure. That is d point Bush deserves more than a slap for not heeding to d advice of France, Russia China even Germany. The UN was against the war US went ahead with UK and some minor countries.
